great post.
Dr. Mike Berry has a large following and is a world expert in resource investing, economics, finance etc.
the fact that he visited this project could not be a more bullish sign.
he has travelled the world over looking for "diamonds in the rough"
I look forward to seeing him report more on this exciting developing story.
The deal did not close in Sept. as Promised, and the reserve report did not come out at labor day, as promised.
all credibility is lost
what will the consequences be..........
quiet board.....
no news is good news?
no news is not good news?
good article on juniors. Many that I follow are just starting to perk up in volume and price.
interesting...
gold near all time highs and silver far far away from all time highs.
could be a good trade in store.
cool article...
that is some of the highest quality writing I have seen in years. The article artfully blends factual data about gold with the romantic attributes of the metal, woven with the musical elegance of simon and garfunkel. Our CEO is a diamond in the rough...
I am not aware of any other mining CEO to put forth such a piece...all as a public service!
when do you guys expect 2007 financials to be released?
lots of firsts with gold...
December 2007. First time in all of history where gold has had a monthly close above $800 per ounce.
First time ever where gold has increased seven years in a ROW.
I am curious how long it will take Dutch to release the 2007 financials...
What excites me about this company is the proven, past successful production. The 2 ounce per ton history on Gold Bug is too good to pass up.
I eagerly await some current drill results though!
The junior mining sector can be very lucrative indeed....
For example, I bought Noront well under a dollar less than a year ago on the advice of Jason Hommel (Silver Stock report).
It shot up past 7 this summer.
To each his own.
NiiiCE !
What a great article.
I have never seen a junior mining co. invest the time in preparing such a nice, informative article. fyi, I follow about 100 junior miners at any given time.
wow. This co. is special. can't wait to get off of the pink sheets.
Joe in Iowa
shhhh...
Please don't compare Dutch's mines to Goldcorp's Red Lake mine until after I am done buying a lot more shares of DGRI.
Thanks.
!!! LOL
well said!
profitable
positive cash flow
expanding, HIGH GRADE reserves
This hotty will get discovered soon enough.
I would not be surprised in the least to see one or more of the majors begin to take a hard look.
joe in iowa:
you have done a cash flow analysis. good work. Dutch will be a cash cow.
some comments:
You omitted (correctly) depreciation on the new equipment which is a non cash item...this will reduce GAAP earnings.
We do not know what the overhead costs will be.
You assume that we will be paying taxes...I will bet you lunch that due to start up costs and possible tax loss carryforwards, we won't owe tax in the 1st year.
overall, good analysis. your numbers could be on the low side.
My gut instinct tells me that the Gold Bug ore grades will put wall street in a tizzy. cheers
Loan, I'm not worried.
Once Gold Bug reopens next year with its license and permit this issue will be dead once and for all. Tom
fyi the gold bug mine produced more ounces than benton historically.
I will try to post the link soon.
let's leave the pink sheets !
I can't wait to leave the pinks. Check out GORO. They are a comparable gold stock...that enjoys a market cap of $112 million...and are not producing.
Dutch is so much better. otcbb here we come!
yes sir...once Dutch gets off the pinks it should be blue sky from there.
A lot of major institutions (that have been SOUR on gold) are saying that $1,000 per ounce is in the bag........
Citibank, etc. (These are not primary bullion dealer banks) so this is a straightforward objective view.
great news
Dutch Friends...this news release is one of the most important of the year.
I have been trading precious metals stocks for more than 25 years. It is safe to say that Benton is a high grade mine and Gold bug is a VERY high grade mine.
This press release, in a nutshell, says: "hello, we found some more good ore in a totally new area!" Once the data gets analyzed and numbers get crunched, Dutch will be able to update the reserves.
Bingo!
p.s. I am forced to cheer on the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field tomorrow, thereby missing the Chicago Gold show. Does anyone feel sorry for me?
I wonder when we will be getting some drill results?
That new rocket diamond drill should be tearin up that mine something good.
Confirmation!
I was at the Silver Summit this week checking on several of my mining stocks
(Hecla, Timberline, Azteca). Dr. Earl Bennett, retired Chairman of the Dept. of Mines at the University of Idaho gave an excellent speech on the health of the mining business in Idaho. After the speech, I caught up with him and asked if he knew Jim Browne, Dutch's Chief Geologist. Dr. Bennett enthusiastically stated: "absolutely! Jim is one of the very best and brightest geologists out there. Dutch is extremely fortunate to have him on board. Believe me, Jim will find the gold without any doubt whatsoever"
- - - Needless to say, I felt pretty darn good after speaking with him. Cool.
loantech
I'm not worried.
Even though the paperwork has not been submitted, is it possible that it is nearly complete? You never know!
excellent webcast!
Revenue next year high teens ($18 mil)
EBITDA $7-9 mil
3 acquisitions next year
very positive indeed.
$3 to $4 share price no problem when this all comes together.
gold nearing $700 again...
Oh Lord let's get Dutch back over a buck very soon. This trend is NOT our friend.
I wonder when our geologist will be reporting some drill results...it has been very quiet here as of late.
re: Friday Freefall
The seller must not be a very successful trader...having to dump shares in a thinly traded pink sheet stock late on a Friday just before a long holiday weekend.
I am surprised the stock had enough bids to keep it above a buck during all of this.
Nice trading day for sure.
9 out of 10 junior mining companies never end up doing any mining!
It is just too difficult to secure the licenses, permits, equipment, personnel, infrastructure, etc.
Dutch is different. Dutch is better....everything is in place and the mine and mill are PRODUCING. this is a big deal. It will catch the attention of mining industry professionals. I have told several people about Dutch..and they told 2 friends, and they told 2 friends.....once this little hotty gets discovered look out above...
great post JoeinIowa. The article was direct and supported with many facts.
also, the silver summit exposure will be terrific. I have been to many of these shows and ALL of the famous newsletter writers attend, as well as serious metal investors, along with the resource sector investment bankers. This is a win-win-win situation.
I am so pleased with Dutch's progress it is giving me goosebumps.
czn.to Canadian Zinc Co.
My you would have to be patient holding Canadian Zinc. what a beautiful property they have. They have been working on getting it ready for production for about THIRTY years. Hah!!!
Good Old Dutch is producing NOW!!! The proof is in the production...not the promise of it.
good article. I read a horrifying article tonite on www.jsmineset.com about how the chinese could trigger a complete dollar meltdown if we continue to harrass them about revaluing their currency.
Nearly 50% of all US Government debt is now controlled by foreigners.
If that is not unsettling I don't know what is.
Got Gold?
Doing the right things...
I am pleased with Dutch's progress.
1. Drilling is in underway to prove up additional reserves.
2. We're getting a new drill! Few companies can secure a drill right now.
3. A respected Geologist is signed up and on board. This guy is an expert in the Pacific Northwest mines and vein structures. I believe that he resides in the silver capital of the world....Coeur D' Alene Idaho.
If/when Dutch participates in some of the gold trade shows and we begin to get noticed....watch the share price move to higher ground.
commodity super cycle boom
We are commodity hogs in the USA...consuming far more per capita than the rest of the world....oil, grains, metals, lumber, etc.
Consider this...there are 300 million Americans today. Total World population is 6.6 billion today....What will happen to prices of "hard" assets once the rest of the world begins to consume like Americans do? (already in progress)
It's no wonder that miners are in a mad rush to increase reserves and stake more property...
One more point. Americans do not respect the precious metals culturally like people in other countries. (India, China, for example) As per-capita wealth increases globally, the demand for gold should rise exponentially.
Re: Paramount Gold (PZG)
These guys just moved to the Amex last week.
$140 million market cap... closed at $3.00 a share.
Dutch has better assets and a much better story...plus we are producing!
I feel good!
Tom
we all need a chance to catch our breath, relax, and play a little golf.
It is the dog days of summer. A calm before the perfect storm....
Highest Monthly Average Price of Gold....
I just read in Dow Theory Letters that April of 2007 had the highest EVER monthly average price of gold...$679.87.
Other leading months were...
May of 2007
May of 2006
January of 1980
September of 1980
I liken the price of gold to a slumbering bear that has just woken up from its multi-decade nap! Richard Russell (Dow Theory) said that 2007 will most likely have the highest average annual price of gold...EVER. Lookin good Dutch fans!
quick comparisons...
TBLC just made it to the Amex, yet their properties are not nearly as far along, and their stock trades over $4.
AZ.TO has a market cap of $46 million, yet they have no mine or mill, and their properties are not far along at all.
I think Dutch remains very cheap at these levels!
price of gold......
I heard on the radio tonite Al Quada might be planning another attack.
This is quite concerning, but if god forbid it happens, investors always flee to gold.
Gold is the best way to protect your family in uncertain times...
Do the right thing...have some gold in your portfolio. even 5% to 10% would do the job.
Experts say that gold is "insurance" you never want to collect on, but it guarantees that you and your family will not suffer in the event hard times come around.
wow if we were current on financials with some favorable drill results there could be a melt-up in the share price.
I spoke with a top mining consultant tonight...he said 1 ounce of gold per ton of ore was pretty uncommon. 2 ounces per ton was phenomenal. By the way, a ton of ore would fit in the back of a pickup truck to put things in perspective.
There's a lot of value in that mountain we are drilling and digging. Pretty exciting stuff.
Scorry..welcome to this Board
The outstanding share figure is more like 40 million. see their web page for a better number.
Short term, the reopening of the gold bug mine will be a major catalyst.
Also, their property is being drilled which could prove up additional reserves and resources. This is where the action is at with mining companies.
As Dutch gets more exposure on the "street", expect the stock price to reflect this.
Amex listing would be sweet.
One stock I follow but do not own (arrgh) is MAG Silver. I met these guys at a show last Sept. when the stock was in the 2's. Now they are going Amex at +/- $12 !
We have a lot in common with MAG. We have a proven mine...watch the stock explode once the property is drilled and the reserves are proven up. That's the "blue sky" potential with Dutch.
Opportunities like this one do not come around very often...
I agree 100%. Dutch has huge upside potential.
I have not been so excited about one company since just after 9-11 when a few brokerage stocks were trading for less than cash in the bank. Some of those went on to be 18 and 20 baggers.
About the pink sheets...very few of my friends who are in their 60's and 70's will touch a pink sheet stock. This is a rule that they will not bend on no matter how much I talk up the story....but once we are off the pinks, expect Dutch to make a lot of new friendly shareholders.
