I am always amused seeing how many people repost the news releases in their entirety.
I would too. Then again, I would take any news at any time.
What happens to the stock price in this situation/what happens to the shareholders of the company that is taking over?
I think this company can be looked at as amazing one with or without the cell (of course, the cell is certainly the ultimate goal, and we can all have money fights and make money castles once a manufacturing partner/something to that effect is announced). If it can pull 100m, or even half of that by the end of next year, it's still a very competitive company.
The cell will be a fast track to early (or super early) retirement for some investors here, but at the very least, we can take solace in the company expanding rapidly even excluding the amazing technology.
Is it possible to have a brief explanation of the implications of your post? Pardon the ignorance.
Yeah...if so, SLTD to 17 dollars.
I wouldn't be opposed.
Indeed, I'm hoping as much as you are. It just wasn't 100% clear to me. 100m in 2015 would be totally insane.
The one thing that people have been inferring that wasn't exactly said is that the 100m was for 2015. I didn't see anything in the PR about the 100m goal being for next year. I thought it was an ultimate goal, and next year was, presumably, as much growth as possible to help get there.
The benefit of the lesser-than-expectations Q3 is that Q4 doesn't have to be nuts. If we hit 6-7m, it would be all we need. Anything more is just extra benefits.
Don't think I'd want his job, though.
Indeed. And this board is a bubble in that I don't think people's individual projections for quarterly revenues actually reflect reality. Maintaining good growth is all that matters.
Yeah, this is the issue. And I don't want to get burned by selling and being really happy with a massive profit only to be unable to buy it back, and ending up making 1/10 what I could have made if I held it for longer.
Predicting when/what a pullback will be is impossible.
Just a thought. So let's say a crazy move happens, and we hit something like a dollar in a week or two. Is anyone selling at that point? Do people expect it to pull way back if it goes up so much?
I have 110k shares, and in thinking about it, although I have planned completely to hold this until it hits 10, my experience as a trader would scream at the thought of making that profit in such a short period of time. This is with the thought of buying back. But of course, I fear it wouldn't pull back enough for the profit in the near term to be worth it. Anyone else battling these thoughts?
Guess I just gotta be strong and wait it out.
Close tomorrow: 29.3
Close Friday: 50.1
2.00 this week = 670% increase in stock price.
I think I'd prefer to go up a bit more slowly so that the stock doesn't then halve.
Of course, if it goes up to 10 in a week, I would probably sell :)
YOU GET A TESLA, YOU GET A TESLA, EVERYBODY GETS A TESLA
Dying. 003 away.
Just so much yes.
Depends on your timeframe.
10,000% for SLTD longer term :)
It has no impact (also Re: CHR6IS), however, public perception makes the erroneous association between the two, at least in my experience, which centers around the solar industry.
The price of solar power going down is far faster than the price of oil going down.
Interesting price action today...lots of big swings. Damn traders...
We love you.
I second this.
Posted this before, a couple days ago, but I think this is of some great significance. They have their own website for up-to-date solar news/happenings. It's advertised on their twitter (by the way, everyone who has a twitter should follow the company on twitter).
But here's the link to the site: http://paper.li/solar3d/solar
My expectations are high, but moderately so. Considering the jump from Q1 to Q2, even a several million increase this quarter is still massive. Going from ~7.5 to ~11, say. That's unbelievable growth.
And sure, if they knock it out of the park and double again, then it's party time. But I keep hopes reasonable so that I can be more easily surprised.
Also, has anyone seen this? Solar3D daily online paper?

Delays on quotes? Is anyone seeing unchanged pps? I'm using Etrade. Not sure if it's an overall thing, just etrade, or I'm just losing it.
0% day equals few posts, I guess.
December 2014:
The Chinese government announces a close partnership with Solar3D to provide solar power for all governmental buildings in China.
SLTD stock price to 87.30
A great day.
Probably low. I think most people are expecting next week.
Yup, with ya. I added about 25k the last few days. Good times to be had.
If he's been trading successfully for years, it means he has a system that works for him. I don't know of many traders/investors who have exactly the same opinions on things. I admire him because he's able to do that. I'd be too afraid with SLTD to try to buy/sell, imagining that the stock would run away from me beforehand. To each his own.
Bottom line, everyone here likes SLTD. This is a good thing.
Hahahaha that was great.
And continue up from there :)
Not at all to rain on or slow down your parade, but I'm inclined to agree with Drbrown's sentiment--that is, have a beverage of your choice and continue to wait. The stock moving by .004 up is indeed up, but until we're moving by actual cents, and then hopefully one day dollars, we may as well relax.
I have been reading this board for a while, so I thought I would join the conversation a bit.
I have been wondering about strategies of investors here. I did quite a bit of reading before I bought some SLTD, and I ended up buying 100k shares--I may add a little more. But I'm viewing this as a 2+ year play. What do people here have as a pt in their minds in that timeframe?
Based on moon's post, a double by November would be reasonable with good earnings, but is it possible that this could be a 5-7 dollar stock by 2016?
The QOQ revenue increases have been massive, and so this is a primary reason I'm optimistic.
Are others planning on holding the stock as long as I am? Even with a double in price, I don't think I'll risk hoping for a drop back to where it is now (~.14). I just imagine riding waves and waiting to fulfill a longer term goal.
