SMCI:
Good find. Thanks.
lj: SMCI
Just thinking out loud. Are U saying your big bag is fllled with roadkill?
Warning: Rated X

lj: SMCI: I wonder whether the choo-choo left the station. It is tempting to complete a swing trade on the 12 shares I purchased last week, but the prospect of those shares becoming 120 shares in the not-too-distant future makes me want to channel the CEO and play the long game. If the stock continues to rise from here, I won't be buy more pre-split shares.
There might be some good buying opportunities post-split.
CSCO: Will be interesting to see whether it takes out the 52-week high if a round of analysts' upgrading the stock begins. They just put out a decent earnings report, and the CEO said the requisite blah, blah, blah about AI. Apparently, AI spending is in the first inning.
The left's new scare tactic: monkey pox. Trudeau the moron has sounded the alarm in Canada. It is spreading through the Congo. If cases come to the U.S. from across the Mexican border, the left will blame it on Trump!
al44: No, the Brits aren't going insane. The European socialists have a firm grip on the country.
lj: Actually, this didn't happen before stock options were created.
Stock options created the 1%, and, to a lesser extent, CEO's being paid in stock during the early early years of their businesses.
Why hasn't Pocohontas pushed the idea of making stock options illegal?
Answer: Because she is obsessed with banks.
p_s_h: Very clever! EOM
Gee, how many of these people got the COVID vax?
If the food is so terrible, why didn't this start 5, 10 years ago?

lj: Paid $3.30 a gallon the other day. Traffic will be multiple times what it is now when schools open. Around here, 3-4 p.m. is like rush hour.
If oil does not rise much, refiners should do well in September.
On another topic, Home Depot stock's rise this week looks like the big players doing a pump-and-dump. Exhibit A--Home Depot announced this week that consumer spending is weakening, or has weakened. So, the large stakeholders buy more, attracting other investors. Once the stock is up several points, they head for the exit.
Just a theory based on seeing these counter-intuitive moves up following bad company news.

lj: Maybe he doesn't want to end up like his predecessor? EOM
LJ: I would characterize today's market as "calm seas". The vast majority of my positions are up or down a few dimes. I have NEVER seen a "day's change in value" figure in my portfolio of $10. It might be statistically impossible, but that is what it is!
lj: Google's problem is that in this country, the perception is that they "spy" on people.
Owning a Google phone would give me the willies.
If Apple doesn't move fast on AI, they might be doomed.
Samsung is going to have a big leg up.
If Apple doesn't reveal an AI phone next month, the stock is going to crash, imo.
lj: geopolitics
And, and, and, who knows who has walked into the U.S. across the Mexican border.
Israel has already gone past lines which
will lead to years of retaliation against
them and any backers..."
It stands to reason that Hamas and Hezbollah agents are already residing in this country.
The European socialists will stop at nothing. Remember, the left wants to bring this sickness to the U.S. People expressing their personal opinions is bullying? We are living in very dangerous. times. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/elon-musk-jk-rowling-named-in-imane-khelifs-cyberbullying-criminal-complaint-in-france-report-231651034.html
lj: The weakness in the U.S. dollar is the scariest aspect of the U.S. economy.
APPL, NVDA, SMCI, etc. did well on Tuesday. NVDA showed real strength when U multiply the gain by 10, the factor by which the stock was split. Pre-split, it would have been a $70 a share move. Ditto with AAPL, except that Apple over moved up a few points.
If Harris is polling ahead throughout the fall, imo, the market might crash. Far-left types are not good for stock markets.
lj: Ernesto
Interesting. Not one model has it going anywhere near the U.S., with the exception of the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Filled my tank today in anticipation of gasoline prices rising soon.
Gmenfan: True. But U have to feel very sorry for people who are the victim of that tyranny, which was totally illegal, by the way. They should sue the "h" out of the State and City governments.
al44: The RNC needs to do an ad with that video.
al44: Ever see the movie "Canadian Bacon", starring Alan Alda? The U.S. invades Canada.
Enough said!

Didn't read the full article. I wonder whether the jobs went south of the border.
Trump needs to get to Iowa and say it won't happen after he returns to the W.H.
lj: The PPI we watch. The CPI, which excludes food and energy, is a con game.
Unless a big war breaks out, the market should slop around until after Labor Day.
By the way, the mainstream media is hoping their talk about Covid in 26 States, monkey pox, and bird flu will become a self-fulfilling prophecy in time to keep people out of the polling places on Nov. 5. Covid has been found in wastewater. Well, are the hospital overflowing with Covid patients. What a crock of crap, literally!
lj: Actually it was a news story from the Yahoo! news feed. They tricked me, Vern!
lj: If Powell wants to keep his miserable job, rates WILL come down before the U.S. election.
As surely as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, rates will come down in September.

I don't think that Russia factors into the equation. Ukraine's incursion into Russian territory is a joke.
The U.S. might want to cut off all aid to Ukraine at this point, but we won't.
Zelenskyy's wife allegedly drives a Bugatti. Think the tons of money we have sent them has all been spent on the war? He just bought a vineyard in Italy. Might be the place he goes to when the flit hits the sham!
NYBob: The vilest thing that has come out of that creep's mouth is that MAGA people are a threat to democracy. It is like the President of China saying that the practitioners of Falun Gong are a threat to the power of the Communist Chinese Party. He should have been impeached for saying that. Of course, the dark forces told him to say it. He is merely the ventriloquist's dummy.
lj: Gold closed at $2,481 and change. That is scary, imo. Reflects a loss of faith in the U.S. dollar. Peon theory, of course.
lj: The spin on oil that I heard on CNBC today is that the price has risen due to what MIGHT happen in the Mid-East. Wouldn't it make sense to run up oil after something happens, not before, assuming something happens other than symbolic tit-for-tat strikes?
It will be interesting to see if EGY finally has a run to $8 a share.
On another topic, Ernesto is a player. Puerto Rico might get hit with a CAT 3. The latter part of the week should be interesting down there.
lj: Of course, the legislation to control AI applications will lag behind the onset of the problems, maybe by years. It is coming at us fast and furious.
Just wait until IRS adopts AI applications. They will be able to audit everyone every year.
Tyranny is here. It will only get worse, unless people wake up quickly.
INTC: Years away from straightening itself out, imo. It won't happen until the new plant in Arizona is operational and they can do contract work for the big dogs.
If China invades Taiwan before then, we are in big trouble.
lj: Short "Motley Fool" article on three stock-split stocks to buy.
One of the three actually pays a small dividend! We might be familiar with the other two!

lj: SMCI and DELL
Music to our ears: "SMCI also almost doubled R&D spending on a year-to-year quarterly basis..." "The world is their oyster", whatever that expression is supposed to mean! (Trivia: When John Smith sailed up the Chesapeake Bay in days of yore, he saw islands of oysters. And, the water was so clean you could see down 50 feet. Of course, if the Natives gorged themselves on oysters and crabs, they would have been crippled by gout.)
DELL: There has been a lot of hype about the PC and laptop AI upgrade cycle coming. DELL should do very well. The retail stock that has benefitted from the AI upgrade talk is Apple. It brought the stock back to life.
lj: SMCI
Thank U for the update. I missed the split announcement! So I have until the end of September to purchase 48 more shares, hoping to own 1K shares post split. I wouldn't pay more than maybe $510 for those 48 shares. Stock split announcements create a honeymoon effect sometimes, so expect the stock to go up until after the split. I owned 40 shares and purchased 12 more last week for a trade. Forget the trade. I would prefer to own the additional 120 shares those 12 shares will bring.
al44: Even the people from Iran, I'm sure. If this is verifiable fact, and they can force her to admit it, Trump wins in a landslide. Though, the younger generations are so brainwashed and idiotic that they might think it is a great idea.
Democracy might be over. Look at England. Arresting people for Facebook posts.
The U.S. is not far behind.
When FBI swat teams can show up at the homes of abortion protestors, law-abiding fathers, and arrest them in front of their families, civilization has ended.
The reasons the Dems and the forces behind them will pull out all stops to get rid of Trump is that they know their fate if Trump wins. Federal prison.
lj: They used NVDA's three-month delay as the excuse to manipulate the price of SMCI downward. I really do believe the stock is forming a base. Your $665 theory is very logical. So, the profit on the 12 shares I bought this past week might be $1,920 (approximate gain per share of $160). Even if it takes months, it would be a nice return.
lj: The problem is that Hamas hides out among civilians, especially in hospitals and schools.
When innocent people are murdered, it is a moral victory for them.
If Hamas is eliminated, another group will arise.
There is no end to it.
lj: MSTR
To be honest, I have not been following the contest closely, or the stock market for that matter. Thank you for pointing out the forward split on MSTR.
The AI oracle said SMCI is a good candidate for a forward split.
NYBob: You post good stuff, but I don't have an hour here and an hour there to listen to it!
I'll try to find time to listen to Jim WIllie. What he says might give me the willies! Thank you for the link.
lj: SMCI
? Did U put that in reverse. 10:1 forward split is coming one day?
50 now or 500 later? If U believe a split is imminent, last week was the week to buy for the long haul.
On another topic, I am beginning to think aspect of AI should be illegal.
There is a company that will create your online clone, using your posts, writings, etc.
Your clone is going to call itself "Vern".
I saw a demonstration of this today on FOX Business News, and, imo, it is VERY scary, and it is happening next year.
We are not going to be able to distinguish reality from illusion. Governments can use this to enslave their citizens, including the U.S. Government.
We are in uncharted waters.
We are on the fast track to transhumanism.
Maybe Muslims will stop this in its tracks.
Some group or groups has to before it is too late.
One more thing. I find companies recording our voices (for training purposes) very unsettling, now that AI is upon us.
