lj: You won't like this, but if Bitcoin's price drops a significant amount, I am going to buy it, rather than add more by proxy (MSTR). When the dollar is no longer the U.S. reserve currency for oil, U might want to own it, too. Governments can seize your gold, but not your bitcoin. They could, however, pull the plug on the electricity. These are scary times, my friend.
lj: I just saw a mainstream media article showing it still on track for Texas. If it makes landfall in Texas, the big problem would be the tidal surge. Your average person tends to forget that the tidal surge is a very big, dangerous problem.
NYBob: The MTG speech is important. Trump needs to make known what the Biden is up to with these Safe Mobility offices. Process them in their home countries and fly them in under cover of darkness. No one will be the wiser.
lj: Beryl It is not a good situation, but it could have been worse. Let's hope it doesn't shift again. I hope the heavy rain is needed in the path it takes. That is the positive spin I'm putting on it, no pun intended. The meteorologist in the video does a great job.
litltlejohn: re cattle call
I won't be buying BLMN, owner of Outback Steakhouse!
r59: TSLA
I guess it is an example of what former Fed. Chair Alan Greenspan called "irrational exuberance"! I am not seeing many new Teslas on the road. Last year, yes. This year, no.
This is anecdotal, of course.
lj: Buy SQQQ in after-hours trading?
lj : You have just made the argument for nuclear power. Speaking of the Lone Star State, the heat is affecting cattle ranching in a very negative way. Buy your favorite cuts and freeze them.
There might be a shortage of beef.
wadegarret: GERN
Good point. Their drug might cannibalize Reblzyl. They might corner the market.
There might be drug companies lining up to buy them out, now that GERN has done all of the hard work! Thank you, wadegarret. I am going to start a position. Much appreciated
nelson1234: OT
No, no, no. He isn't allowed to podcast in a Federal penitentiary.
He must have pre-recorded it before he left for the pen last week.
What I found interesting was that in July 1964, Confederal General Jubal Early was closing in on Washington, D.C., which was not defended because most of the troops from there were fighting in Petersburg, Virginia. The Union Army under Meade?, don't remember, got there in the nick of time. Had he made it to D.C., the outcome of the war would have been different.
Bannon recommends that everyone take their kids or grandkids to Gettysburg. The battlefield is inspiring, they have ghost tours of the cemetery at night, etc.
wadegarret: GERN
Since they just received FDA approval of the MDS drug, it would be at LEAST a year before a takeover offer, imo. First, they have to go through the labeling process with the FDA, which will take months and months, I believe. Next, it will take time for sales of the drug to increase.
BHVN's blockbuster drug Nurtec (acquired by Pfizer) took 3 quarters to see rising sales number.
No rush to buy GERN, imo.
If anyone listens to Steve Bannon's "War Room" here, I highly recommend listening to yesterday's July 4 special podcast on the Civil War.
al44: Schumer is a nasty piece of work, but, to his credit, he warned Trump and the intelligence deep State would come after him.
al44: They made total asses of themselves at that January rally in D.C. after Trump won.
lj: Will be tempted to buy more MSTR today. There are some new inverse ETF's for MSTR.
Should be a slow day in the market on Friday.
Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite.
lj: Don't think there will be too many people walking the Strip in Vegas today!
Friend texted me a copy of the weather forecast for Phoenix. Miserable there, too, but about 7 degrees less hot.
Hope that weather doesn't head East, but it often does.
Fingers crossed for Texas.
lj: If they deport the illegals, say 5M, and set up mining ops in areas with nuclear energy, there shouldn't be a problem. Maybe 95 percent of the people who have crossed into the U.S. over the Mexican border use energy. The insanity of the Democrats' policies is off the scale.
lj: Very interesting. Thank you. More hurricane bait out in the Gulf! Spending day indoors. Off my game this week.
Happy 4th to everyone aboard this board. Will don't post on this important holiday what Trump called Biden. It is a classic.
Will post it tomorrow! Stay cool!
Very bad image for Carnival Cruise Lines! https://www.yahoo.com/news/brawl-carnival-cruise-caught-viral-164100066.html
lj: Our #1 focus should be preparing for the big decline in the U.S. dollar that is coming.
For starters, I plan to buy more MSTR.
lj: Interesting. I filled both of my vehicles yesterday and today. $3.49 a gallon.
You might get an opportunity to freeze VTLE in the contest sooner than later!
Give California back to Mexico:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13598975/New-Zealnd-wife-husband-robbers-California-mall.html
MSTR: Should have purchased some today. The scenario in this article is very interesting. I think it could happen if the dollar starts to drop like a rock. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/1-top-cryptocurrency-buy-soars-133900230.html
TSLA: If purchased in premarket, the return for this trading session would be significant.
Gmenfan: Bring it on! She won't win, regardless of what stupid polls show. She wouldn't get 10 percent of the white male vote. All that the Republican would have to do is put it out that a a vote for Michelle, would be a vote for her husband's fourth term.
lj: Two things:
TSLA: I saw it in pre-market when it was up maybe $3. Last time I checked, it was up over $20. I was going to buy 10 or 20 shares for a day trade but got distracted. Democrats are not fans of Elon. Maybe they knew how the CCP would respond to the tariffs. Or, am I giving them too much credit?
Beryl: Slamming islands at CAT 4.
lj: PED
Thank you for pointing out this one. The stats look good. The first thing that comes to mind is a reverse split. No longer buying thousands of shares of these microcaps. GRRR reminded me of what can happen.
OT: Market was closed for Juneteenth. Market closes at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. Friday should be a slow day, too. Staying put this 4th. We are in for a week of 90-degree weather with a good deal of humidity. All I can say is that it is July.
lj: GRRR's price is downright pathetic. I don't expect to get back to even.
lj: Let's hope it doesn't creep upward, and if it does, that it hits as a Cat 1. The inclination to turn right is what has protected NE Florida from major strikes--Jacksonville, e.g.
lj: I wish China would put tariffs on U.S. oranges. Since they started importing them, the price of a California orange is ridiculous--$1 an orange. This week I bought a bag of oranges from Morocco, of all places. Not a lot of taste but very juicy.
lj: TSLA allegedly is having a rebound rally. Stopped following the stock, knowing that this one is good for trades. Haven't done any options on it since last October, I believe. Time to start paying attention.
lj: East side of storm hitting Jamaica as a CAT 5. Let's hope Texas is spared, that if it brushes SE Texas, it will be at a much lower category.
NOG has too much debt, imo. On paper, VTLE still looks like a bargain, but I wouldn't put more money into VTLE.
My guess is that the stock market will be weak this week. Lots of people are on vacation, and the big money people are reeling from the debate debacle.
lj: Speaking of California, State Farm is pulling out of the State, or threatening to do so.
Yesterday's news.
lj: Anything that uses more water shouldn't be done, imo. Green ammonia. Now I have heard everything! This switch to wind is solar is self-destructive. Just this peon's opinion, of course.
lj: Thank goodness for that high pressure. We don't even want to think about it getting into the hot water in the Gulf.
lj: GRRR
Let's hope that they do not do another reverse split.
SkeBallLarry: But not for "unofficial" acts. Ginning up the crowd on January 6th was an unofficial act. They can still prosecute him, but his defense is he told the crowed to "peacefully" demonstrate. In D.C., they would convict him, regardless. I am of the belief that the District of Columbia should not have Federal courts.
