Was curious about your comment:
Telcel (Telefonica)
I believe these are different companies. Are you suggesting they are the same?
Nice....and remember the Neoreader will be embedded on Telefonica phones and they have 150 million customers! :)
Did you know that 50% of all new internet connections in 2009 will come from mobile phones? Source: Google Mobile

If not, join twitter for fast exhchange of neomedia news/info
I believe those prices take into account splits! If you to Google finance and look at the max charts for the stocks they denote when and at what price there were splits! I could be wrong but that is how it appears...If I am wrong, show me how/why I am looking at it wrong. Thanks in advance.

Here is a chart with consistent increments along the y-axis (vertically)
Digimarc looks like a great company with a very important product! A product that will become increasingly more significant in years to come and ALL of that is great for Neomedia!
Inside this article it speaks of Digimarc and their watermarking technology. Here is what Digimarc says about their product (the point for us is that it surely utilizes the indirect method):

Pay special attention to words in bold
Digimarc Technology at WorkDigimarc's business partners share our vision for the value of digital watermarking in a wide range of applications. Many solutions are available today, helping to secure and enrich our lives, such as...

Digimarc technology can transform print ads, posters, product packaging and more into an interactive media using a mobile phone or other digital device equipped with special software. Consumers can use the handheld devices they use daily to instantly read the watermark in printed images, logos and other graphic elements and automatically connect to additional information on the product or service. The watermark includes a digital identifier that links to a database to enable any number of different actions — communicate pricing and where to buy locations, provide information on complementary products, engage the consumer in an interactive contest or game, or complete the sale by linking to the company's web site.

Communicate Ownership
Content (images, audio, and video) often circulates anonymously, without the ability to communicate who owns it or how to contact them to obtain the right to use it.Digital watermarking provides a persistent digital identity for all forms of media content and enables copyright holders to reliably communicate their ownership while also providing links to related details and purchase information. This helps to promote licensing and protect copyrighted content from unauthorized use or becoming an "orphaned work."

Authenticate Content and Objects
Digimarc technology helps companies and inspectors who need to
verify that content (images, audio, and video) is genuine, and from an authorized source, as well as confirm that it has not been altered or falsified. The presence and/or the continuity of a digital watermark can quickly help determine whether or not the content has been altered. Additionally, digital watermarks add yet another layer of security to encrypted content in order to protect your assets and help identify the source of leaks.

Monitor Broadcasts and Internet Distribution
Today, more than ever, content owners and distributors need to be able to track broadcasts and Internet distribution of their content. All broadcast television in the US is already embedded with a unique digital identifier which contains distributor and/or date and time information. Detectors are placed in major markets where broadcasts are received and processed. The digital watermark is decoded and used to reference a database, resulting in reports to the owner or distributor that the content has aired in a given market, at a specific time, and that it was played in its entirety. Additional information can be provided, including usage and license compliance, advertising clearance verification, and detection of unauthorized use.

Identify and Manage Content
Digimarc technology can give all forms of media content (images, audio, and video) a unique digital identity to enable content owners or service providers to quickly identify specific content, filter for the content online, and trace it through its distribution path. This means you can...
Identify intended receivers and trace content found outside of its authorized distribution path to the last authorized recipient
Effectively manage content in a digital asset management system (DAM), with the ability to tag content and tie it back to the original stored in the DAM
Filter for content online, for instance copyrighted content that may be uploaded to YouTube or MySpace or explicit content that is unsuitable for children
Locate where your content is showing up online, and much more
Using Digital Watermarks in a Digital Asset Management System
Digital watermarks are used effectively as a persistent media asset tag, acting as a primary key into a digital asset management system (DAM). This allows any piece of tagged content (images, audio, and video) to lead back to the original, stored in the content management system. Tagged content can also link to metadata in the system, such as keywords, rights and permissions, etc. The link can be used when passing content between enterprises or asset management systems to retrieve related information from remote systems. Digimarc technology can extend digital asset solutions outside compliant internal systems, and can speed entering metadata into a local DAM system. The digital watermark carries identifiers for the content and possibly the distributor. The related database links the content identifier to the owner and to the content information in the DAM system.

Manage Digital Rights
With Digimarc technology, digital rights management (DRM) systems can connect content (images, audio, and video) outside the DRM back to the DRM, such as linking the content to usage rules, billing information, and other critical metadata. Digital watermarking allows content to pass through the analog domain and over legacy equipment, keeping information about usage rights permanently attached. The watermark contains a digital identifier (and possibly one for the distributor) and links to the related database with the owner, usage rules and billing information. The distributor identifier, if used, can tie to the method of distribution.

Deter Counterfeiting and Piracy
Digimarc technology enables a wide range of applications to deter counterfeiting and piracy. Since digital watermarks provide an imperceptible, persistent digital identity for all forms of content (images, audio, video), the absence of the watermark or partial presence of one quickly indicates that the content may be counterfeit or altered. Digital watermarks survive digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital conversions to protect content as it is reintroduced into the digital domain for activities like burning content onto a DVD or loading to a PC for unauthorized distribution over the Internet.
Digital watermarks allow information about the owner, usage rights and more to be permanently attached to the content. The technology also provides the means to embed copy and play control instructions that indicate when play is not allowed and/or that copies can or cannot be made.
Additionally, digital watermarks can be personalized to an individual recipient of content so that if it leaves that person's possession, it can be traced back to where it was leaked. This creates a powerful to deterrence for both careless and malicious behavior.

Secure and Authenticate IDs
Digital watermarking is being used very successfully in driver licenses and IDs as part of a linked and layered security strategy for secure credentials. Watermarks offer a security feature that is imperceptible to the human eye, but can be quickly detected and decoded by a range of computers and readily available scanning devices. These scanners quickly detect counterfeits, photo swapping and data alteration — the most common methods of creating fake IDs. Since digital watermarking is digital information woven into the artwork of the card, it requires no additional real estate and allows quick implementation in new and existing card designs. It requires no special inks or materials, and is a low-cost, highly effective feature to add in ID inspection and counterfeit deterrence.
downloaded Scanlife to my Google G1 and it works wonderfully! Amazing reader!
PREDICTION: (I am not sure what is encouraging this foolishness but here goes)--
The price per share will be 4X what it is today in 4 months or less! (Note: todays (Oct 30, 2009)share price is $.0161, that means on or before the end of February the share price will be at least $.0644)!
:)
The ONLY answer I can come up with is further dilution!
see post #194028
some changes to Scanlife.com website?????????????
Just a reminder to all the faithful Neomedia followers:
The Scanbuy settlement is HUGE! It communicates loud and clear to ALL companies in this space who use the indirect method, and there are a lot of them, that Neomedia's technology needs to be liscensed or else!
The significance of this should not be underestimated or forgotten!
Shareholders need to DEMAND an END to dilutive financing!
I, perhaps foolishly, thought with the advent of the Scanbuy settlement that YA dilution of our stock was over!
How can we send a collabrative/collective message to Neomedia Technologies/Iain communicating this message?
Are you going to Paris?
Taken from page 2 of the pdf.
Austria Extended Packaging pilots – Alexander Meissl, GS1 Austria (on the surface this sounds like Neomedia's work)
• Multiple Barcodes Work Group: status of work and progress on mobile codes – Cameron Green, GS1 Global Office
This decline in share price has to be due to YA selling on the open market! It is really hard for me to believe that anyone on Ihub or anyone that has been a long time Neomedia shareholder is selling at this point. I thought we were over dilutive financing, but maybe not....
yas, no mention of Neomedia, but they again there was no mention of Visa either! I tried to ask a question but never go the opportunity! They did keep referring to Ultra Services and I tend to think that this involves 2d barcodes....
Also, they did say that new business opportunity are expected to grow very fast. Again, I think this could be a reference to the 2d barcode space.
has anyone posted this...just pulled it from Neustar's website ...also, does anyone have the info for Neustar's CC?
I think there is a connection between Neustar--Visa and Neomedia!
Wouldn't it be great if Neustar mentioned such a connection on their conference call!

NEUSTAR FUTURE INNOVATORS AWARD from Direct Marketing Association (DMA) for setting up the collaboration between different campaign management platforms and reader platforms! (details not out yet...but will be coming)
Recognition within the DIRECT MARKETING ASSOCIATION is HUGE!
Raises lots and lots of awareness that the 2D space is moving along very nicely and you can rest assurred that the different Direct Marketers are salivating over the potential of 2d barcodes on cell phones for their marketing purposes!
And don't make the mistake of confusing Direct Marketing with Direct Method as it relates to 2d barcodes and the method of deployment. Two different uses of the work direct!
I think the Neustar--VISA connection is HUGE for Neomedia. Consider the following paragraph:
Leaders in their respective industries, Visa and NeuStar share a heritage of enabling complex, trusted transactions, and providing the security and global interoperability that has enabled the growth of electronic payments and mobile telecommunications, two industries that now must collaborate in new ways. The alliance will combine the reliability, scale and security of Visa’s global payment network with NeuStar’s carrier grade infrastructure which provides critical interconnection services to global network operators and their partners enabling seamless delivery of mobile services to consumers around the globe.
I still think Neustar would have the major upper hand with its alliance with Neomedia! I would tend to reason that the liscense deal with Scanbuy would be at such a price point that would discourage direct competition with what Neomedia / Neustar could / would offer!
If i remember correctly the settlement with Virgin was for $700,000 with a 10 year liscense agreement. (can anyone confirm)
It seems that a settlement with Scanbuy, years later, would have to be for a lot more than that! If that is true...dilutive financing should cease....at least for now?????????
Any thoughts?

The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) just finished up a conference and guess who won one of their Future Innovator Awards?
NEUSTAR!
Spoke to someone from C T I A yesterday and they, apart from any encouragement from me, mentioned Neomedia a few times and viewed the developments as significant and is planning a meeting with carriers asap. The litigation was a cause for pause from his perspective but now that it is over things could move quickly. He also mentioned with respect to Neust...that they have a solution up and running and there may not be a need for other proposals....in other words, if carriers so choose they could have neust.. flip the switch and be up and running.
How much did you buy and was it difficult at all (i.e. take awhile to get filled, etc).
The volume on the decline is very light....so don't be fooled into selling! I suspect that there are very few shares available at $.019, $.0195, $.02, etc.....
The money they get from Scanbuy alone will pay the bills!!!!!
No more dilution!!!!!!!!!!! IMO
What is the name of the Canadian firm that is following Neomedia?
Big surge.....wait till the Tobin Smiths of the world get ahold of this! This will continue to cause the price to ascend!
Over $.03 today?????????????
Tomorrow / Tonight we will probably start seeing analyst start touting Neomedia! Which will cause the price to keep rising!
In addition, could this be the end of our need for money from YA and the END of dilutive financing!!!!!!
Our patent footprint just got bigger and stronger! :) I love it! It seems that the only explaination for the price not skyrocketing more is that all of us who follow it so closely have used up all our dry powder! :) Come on new money!
I think some some of the price declines after the news are just prior orders being filled...any thoughts.
This surely involves Neomedia's IP!
Lots of verification is necessary when dealing with mobile payments and it will surely be an automated involving servers!
This is Great News!
Not sure if others where aware of this but one of the people working on the 2d barcode space for CTIA died back in March just before the conf.

Long-time CTIA veteran Mark Desautels died of an apparent heart attack yesterday afternoon while in Las Vegas preparing for the International CTIA Wireless 2009 conference. Desautels, the association's vice president of wireless Internet development, had been with CTIA since 1998.
"Mark has been an outstanding employee since joining the association in 1998, and was a dear friend and valuable colleague to all of us here at CTIA and to many in the wireless industry," said Steve Largent, CTIA President and CEO. "His insight and forward-thinking were tremendous assets as he led several key industry business development initiatives, and I know he will be missed terribly."
Desautels oversaw the activities of the Wireless Internet Caucus and developed the educational sessions and selected speakers for the association's two annual trade shows. Desautels joined CTIA after serving as president and CEO of the Wireless Data Forum, and prior to that, he was Assistant to the Director, Office of Intergovernmental Relations, Congressional Budget Office (CBO), where he was the agency press spokesperson and chief liaison officer.
