Cannabis stocks surge as Biden overhauls U.S. marijuana policy
"Biden said he was asking federal officials to start a review process of how marijuana is "scheduled", or classified, under federal law. Presently it falls under the same classification as heroin and LSD and in a higher classification than fentanyl and methamphetamine, he said."

My understanding is that this was Kush and your shares are from shares you owned in CBDS (Cannabis Sativa Inc.) at one time--another promise those guys made and are now delivering on (CBDS remains one of the best cannabis companies around in my opinion). Anyway, I believe WEDG (Weed Growth Fund, Inc.), is headed by Ed Rosenthal--yes, that Rosenthal, the author of scores of books on cannabis, including a few with Tommy Chong (Cheech and Chong). As one fan put it, "Mr. Rosenthal is the pothead's answer to Ann Landers, Judge Judy, Martha Stewart and the Burpee Garden Wizard all in one." I called Ameritrade and they said those shares are in my account because they are about to come online. Apparently, they are in process or something. I thought they were supposed to start at $2K per share, so not sure what's happening on that end. My account currently shows them at $5--which seems like a fire sale price to me. WEDG is an investment holding company focused on the cannabis industry, so I expect this will be a major player in the sector, particularly given Rosenthal's stature and connections both in politics and finance. I'll let you know if i learn more.
C'mon, Joe, don't be a dinosaur! Keep America competitive!

Fantastic! Excellent news! I love how Cannabis Sativa is all chill and quiet until BAM! they come out with an announcement that they've acquired a whole new company. No hype, all action. Gotta love that!
This cannabis banking law will create a tidal wave of incoming investment for the cannabis sector.
"Marijuana banking law could create new opportunities for Main St. investors"
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/safe-act-investors-main-street-193036583.html
It passed the House and has the support of 99% of Dems and 50% of Republicans.
This will be a game changer for the growth of the cannabis industry in the U.S.
I'm betting on a serious reversal for CBDS real soon. What's been happening is sector wide. The Motley Fool's Sean Williams nailed it with this one, it's a bump in the road:
"The cannabis industry could very well be this generation's greatest growth story. With virtually every Wall Street projection calling for a double-digit percentage compound annual growth rate over the next decade, lofty pot stock valuations could soon prove inexpensive if legalizations and organic growth continue. But we've also learned that the maturation of the marijuana industry won't be without its bumps in the road."
And, yes, we've hit a number of bumps lately (delays with regulations in Canada, higher than expected taxes on cannabis in California and elsewhere, the persistence of cheap illegal weed, the CannTrust compliance scandal, etc.).
But now, finally, investors are becoming more bullish again, and CBDS, in my opinion, will see a nice, long overdue reversal any time now.
It’s primarily short sellers, in my opinion. And maybe a few insiders selling to pay their bills. Frankly, I think this is major buying opportunity right now. For the last few years now, CBDS has been quietly building a solid foundation for growth. Yes, it would help tremendously for Congress to finally act, and end prohibition, but I still think CBDS is significantly undervalued (which is also what both the RSI and Stochastics show). The sheer number of subsidiaries cannabis sativa owns makes it a target ripe for acquisition, or, with some momentum, a cannabis money machine with multiple revenue streams. And let’s not forget the cannabis patent CBDS owns, or the patented cannabis-based lozenge. I wouldn’t dream of selling my CBDS stock.

Investopedia: "Why Big Investors Eying $194 Billion Market Are High On Cannabis"
The big money is coming. "Big institutional investors are getting increasingly high on the growth potential for products derived from the cannabis plant...Bank of Montreal, in a decidedly bullish forecast, says the market could be as a large as $194 billion worldwide by 2025, should the U.S. federal government legalize cannabis, Business Insider reports."
"What's striking is how rapidly cannabis investments are being embraced by Wall Street and other areas. In a poll of 120 senior executives at leading private equity, venture capital (VC), hedge fund, and other institutional investment organizations, almost 33% said that the cannabis industry has the greatest growth potential this year, a close second behind technology, according to accounting firm EisnerAmper, which did the survey. The most bullish were hedge funds, with 37% putting cannabis in first place, per BI."

So long, Pete "Prohibitionist" Sessions!
“The previous chair of the Rules committee [Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX)] blocked everything cannabis-related. We’re in a new day,” he said. “We need to make sure that our federal laws don’t obstruct what states are doing, especially with regard to the banking issues, where everything now is being done in cash and this is not the way we want this to go. We need to make sure that the federal laws respect what the states are doing.”
"Now that he and his party are in charge of the chamber, McGovern is bullish about the prospects for marijuana reform. “That’s going to happen, and I feel really confident that we’ll pass it in the House and I think that there is bipartisan support in the Senate on this as well,” he said."
"Besides the Rules Committee, several other panels are expected to move on cannabis legislation soon."

Relax. Insider selling is perfectly normal.
"If one executive shows a lot of selling activity, but the others are holding their shares, it’s not necessarily a red flag that something is wrong. If you see a pattern of executives getting stock option grants and then selling a portion, that’s likewise not a major concern."
"There are many factors that go into the decision to buy or sell a stock. Looking at insider buying and selling activity is an important indicator that may help you predict future swings in stock prices, but you should never look at that alone. Instead, use insider activity as one of many signals in your own investment decision-making system. Also consider the company’s fundamentals, analyst estimates, the most recent news, and what you predict for the company’s future operations."

First cannabis hearing for the 115th Congress starts tomorrow!
"Titled, “Challenges and Solutions: Access to Banking Services for Cannabis-Related Businesses,” the hearing will take place on February 13 before a subcommittee of the House Financial Services Committee."
The newly scheduled marijuana hearing is a signal that Democrats intend to move cannabis legislation this year, and is likely to be the first in a series of committee-level actions across the House on the issue.
"The upcoming hearing presents a real opportunity for the Democratic Party to assert their leadership by finally beginning the conversation on how we end the failed policy of marijuana criminalization," Justin Strekal, political director for NORML, said.
Congress has held only a handful of hearings on marijuana reform issues in recent years, and never before has any come at a time when broad cannabis reform legislation seemed to be conceivably on its way to passage.

Check out the cool Thanksgiving letter from Cooking on High's Ngaio Bealum, posted CBDS's ibudtender:

Happy Thanksgiving!
I think it's a steal at this price. CBDS licenses the “hi” and “White Rabbit” brands. They have one of the few U.S. patents on a strain of cannabis (Ecuadorian Sativa). They have other “patent pending” trade secret formulas. They have the “hi benefits card.” They have a number of impressive subsidiaries (Wild Earth Naturals, PrestoDoctor, iBudTender, etc.). And now they just received another U.S. patent (#10105343) for “Cannabis based compositions and methods of treating hypertension.” And all this says nothing of their “best in the sector” leadership team.
They also have some serious revenue coming in now too. According to Nasdaq, they reported impressive revenues of $206,474 for the three months ended June 30, 2018, up from an anemic $1,981 reported last year. Revenue for the first half of the year rocketed up to $301,064 from $3,046 last year.
Of course they had to make some substantial investments to get to this point—this is business after all—but what I see today is a savvy team of professionals with decades of expertise laying the foundation for a global company that will go absolute gangbusters with the end of prohibition.
As far as the current stock price, in my opinion CBDS should be up there in the top five of all cannabis stocks.
BOTH of the anti-cannabis Sessions pols are OUT:
