We are in a great $pot.
I'm not trying to be political in anyway. The National Security Strategy (NSS/2010) sets an energy policy based on self reliance and limiting environmental impact. Solar, Wind, et al., serve two purposes reduction of carbon by offsetting fossil-fuels use and a more practical reality of reducing end user cost; and executive order carry legal mandate while the president is in office.
The UN Report on Climate Change came out last month and this Newshour Report linked in this message gives the findings of Executive Branch's study. http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/white-house-report-warns-climate-change-will-directly-influence-lives-americans/. It is worth the watch because it provides a macro assessment of the direction for renewable energy(s).
Great move for investors: http://on.wsj.com/1lIyJgH
The rare earth issue is the equalizer in the market just like steel was to Carnegie. Andalay Solar, S1Report 1/24/2014 discusses the tariff issue and supply disruption as well as penalties assess to WEST. Thus the new supply chain matrix," Our historical solar panel suppliers, Suntech and Lightway, both manufactured panels for us in China. As a result, aggregate AD and CVD duties of 30.66% (for Lightway) and 35.97% (for Suntech) were imposed on our purchases. The resulting increase in our product prices harmed our competitive position in selling our products, and adversely affected our results of operations. Our new supply agreements with EEG and Tianwei provides for solar modules made with Taiwan cells and therefore are not subject to punitive Chinese tariffs." The rare earth minerals issue is designed, on China's part, to squeeze the US manufacturers who depend on these RE.

Rare earth metals and alt energy.
According to bloomberg Q report 1st week of May.
IMO I don't feel the rsplit for the following reasons: 1. the response by buyers at the new of the new CO. 2. The 4th Q report and assumed logistics issues worked out. 3. Timing, starting a new management cycle with a possible RS seems a no confidence move. I am no guru by any stretch of the imagination. Just opinion and open to coaching.
If you can get them and not kill you average pps why not?
The board looks like it is waiting for the Q report. SC knows the score or else he would have passed on the job.
That was what the motley fools were saying. CNBC did a piece last night on solar. This market has legs.
PS checkout LMRFM
The "Fools" just had an article today (tweeter) about solar being poised for take off. Energy cost, climate change etc. fingers crossed long
Been with lomiko for awhile. Glad to see it moving into a bigger field. Long
Don't get down. Look to the mile stones. Q1, Q2.., and check the news and trust the charts. This slide was bound to happen w/o any news.
Indeed. Well said.
A lot of consolidation and leveling happening this week. Take back at 4 and ride the long.
Nice way to end the day.
Yo, just wanted to say, like reading this board; checked out some other boards. Seems to be a lot of off message energy. Just saying. Eye$ on the prize.
Resist @ .03 a tough ceiling to crack. Need the Q to see where we are starting.., and maybe a CFO (that would very good news)
Andalay Solar has a Twitter feed and Facebook page.
This looks to be a positive move. The next Q-report will tell what kind of job MR did in stopping the bleeding and what pieces Chan has to work with. Strong Buy. PS, check out the recent UN report on climate change.

I see a choppy chart until after the Q-report.
Wonder if anyone was taking their losses. Lord knows the taxman cometh. Might as well see him in the Q1. Speaking of Q1, May was the release in 2012. I did not see month in 2013. I'm sure I must have overlooked it.
This one will require some time and discipline. Long
Stock, yes. Panels, no. We'll have to see if the stock can pay for part of a panel.
Spoke with andalay by phone and asked about the amazon site being sold out of panels. The andalay rep said they (Amazon) were not sold out and panels could still be ordered.., no problem. Note the buy volume during the day. Seems there is quite a bit of entrance in to this stock. Sit tight and buy.
Correction: Q2
Q1 will be a good mark for the company. It will be interesting to see how effective reorganization and supply chain solutions have worked. Hold on, here we go!
It's going to take time. Some news from the company would be nice.
Stock Rover would support the finance issue grading WEST at a "B" and it is true the charts look solid but I have this feeling that there are "shorters" holding a full rebound back. Got to let the cycle play out and hope summer energy costs drive the market.
Time is the key. Supply chain logistics hammered-out? Management going into place. Buy it and stash it. Out of sight, out of mind, and give it time.
