something along those lines but I think the statement is more valuable. Maybe other investors will follow suit.
Rockefellers to switch investments to 'clean energy'

The only thing keeping stacked solar cells from being a viable option currently is the high cost. They simply can't be mass produced with traditional solar manufacturing infrastructure so it will be a number of years before large scale production becomes a reality. I'd of course keep my eye on the tech to see how it progresses and like any other breakthrough solar cell tech I don't see why a 3D design couldn't be implemented to further efficiency.
Things are finally heating up. The next 5 months should be stellar and 2015 even better. Grid parity here we come!
Mr. Nelson concluded, “We anticipate combining the last steps with one partner who will be able to produce a manufacturing prototype, do a test run, and go commercial. This approach will simplify the development process considerably. Finding the right partner is our goal. We are currently holding conversations with several potential partners, including large domestic and international manufacturers.”
Yeah hopefully they get the current silicon version commercialized asap but FPD could be the next step after the silicon cell is up and running.
Nice. Now SLTD just needs to incorporate glass as a substrate over the next few years and license to existing flat panel display producers for a lower cost 3D solar panel.
I'm at my brothers graduation at reed college as I write this post. Moments ago it was announced that the board of directors, as of this morning has decided to divest Reeds 500 million endowment from fossil fuels and invest into renewable energies. As other universities follow the same divestment/investment plan this could mean big things for revenue generating, growing solar companies. Solar3D 2014.
Over 1mil in residential sales in two months this is great. I'm a little disappointed that the commercial system sales didn't show in this quarter but this just means more revenue in the second quarter.
There's always doubters and there's always believers. People told me I was crazy when I loaded up on shares of tesla at 29 dollars. People told me I was crazy when I loaded up on shares of Organovo at 1 dollar. People told me I was crazy when I loaded up on shares of Solar3d at 3 cents. Sometimes it's best to ignore everything you hear around you and go with your gut instinct. If everyone was right, then everyone would be rich.
No prob i've seen numerous people take the 300 percent as a 3x multiple. Doesn't really matter though because we can't predict the future growth. I'm just a mathy guy so it easily irritates me haha
300 percent growth on earnings of 685k would be around 2.7mil so closer to .25 pps assuming no dilution. If we saw 100 percent growth does that mean earnings stay the same? no, that means earnings doubled. I'd expect some dilution though and we can't predict the growth we'll see in 2014 so there's really no point in these calculations. And who knows what could happen once wall street realizes this is a legitimate solar installation company with real revenues and a breakthrough solar cell on the brink of commercialization. Could rack up a huge multiplier.
imo we'll see a 50 mln market cap sooner rather than later. A strong first quarter earnings report could guide us to 25 mln in revenue for 2014. That combined with news of an acquisition or patent update will send this thing flying. Really nothing has changed here since the first acquisition besides the price dropping which should be a good opportunity to purchase more shares not sell but to each his own I guess.
just 26.44 the plus minus was a joke ha
26.44±.99%
Sounds great to me. And we know they have other systems of this size on deck in 2014. Hopefully Sunworks has found a slight niche with agricultural solar systems.
Very true but we do know the approximate price that these systems go for. Browsing the internet i see estimates as low as 1.3 million and as high as 8 million for a single megawatt system. A single megawatt system can power up to 200 homes depending on location.
More like apple releasing news of a contract expected to generate 30-40 bln in revenue. The revenue generated from this combined megawatt system could be more than 25 percent of sunworks 2013 revenue. That's pretty significant. Everything is relative.
Commence Q1 earnings gravy train

Take a phat bong rip. No more stress and it's good for you ;)
Really nothing unexpected here imo. A month ago when we bottomed at .07 the market cap was around 14 mil but with the updated share count after the 10K the pps would be .051 to give that 14 mil market cap. Nows the time to buy y'all. Added 500k so far this week probably add another 500k next week.
Picked up an extra 150k at 6.5 :^) Solar3D Q1 2014 better safe than sorry.
Yeah… 8.5million/4 quarters=2.125mil average per quarter in 2013. If sales increased 300% that means they increased by a factor of four. 2.125*4=8.5 million. But like I said, sunworks has been growing very fast so we would need 2013 Q1 to give a reliable estimate.
A 300% increase in business means 4X not 3X which would equate to 8.5 million in revenue in the first quarter. That's assuming revenue was the same each quarter of 2013 which is most likely not the case since sunworks has been growing very fast. We would need sunworks Q1 2013 to give a good estimate.
Musk also takes a 1$ per year salary at Tesla but his multi million dollar stock based pay more than make up for the small salaries he takes. I agree 100% that Nelsons salary and bonus is too steep for an R&D focused company but his 4 million share bonus barely covers the taxes he owes (4 mil at ~.08= 320K). Add his 270k salary and he has a total compensation of 590k of which a quarter million or so will go to taxes.
(on a similar note)
To date Nelson hasn't sold enough of his shares to cover uncle sams cut. Sunworks execs will also need to sell shares to pay uncle sam and will most likely do this in the fourth quarter. If Nelson waited until the fourth quarter to sell along with the Sunworks execs that would mean major dilution in the fourth quarter.
From the 10K
"We are currently working on our third generation prototype which we expect to be complete in the second quarter of 2014. Our focus in 2014 will be on the commercialization of this new technology."
"If we have additional costs beyond what we expect to be covered by our cash flow from operations and from a manufacturing partner, we intend to meet those unanticipated cash requirements through the sale of shares of our common stock."
Commercialization is expensive. Maybe JN is selling his own shares to cover some of these costs in the second quarter.
But they can be converted at .02 before march 2015 right?
Some genius dumped 600k shares at .067 lol
Huge market down day and large sell off but still closed in the green. Give the news some time to circulate and we should see a quarter by the end of the week.
Assuming a net income of 1mil I get a P/E around 25
