Same here...would love to short it, none available...pity the only ones getting to sell it seem to be management from their pool of "performance shares"...
IMHO
Derek nor Hugo wont get through as management doesnt like questions from people they dont know, or will pretend not to hear them on the call and hang up on them in case of critical questions. And sorry to say they DO know more about tech or this company than ANYbody on this board or outside this board or even at ANY itself...
Even if you dont know anything about tech, their compensation schedule for "management performance" individually broken down is all you need to know to get the hint...
Unless you dont want a hint that is, which is fair enough.
You were right early on and are still and will be. Kind regards to you, Derek, Keubiko and the gang. You guys were right all along...
Depends who asks, to guys in the closer circle Eric Kelly is referred to as a "monkey" and Peter Tassiopoulos is a "Greek Liar", while John Morelli is "Willy Wonka"...
Seems they are still good at selling some stock though, since they dont sell anything else...
Oh, since allegedly Peter T. with friends also trade the stock, from the looks of it we can expect "great news" today
Exciting!
IMHO of course
Well from personal experience u wont see here the silly hopes of longs as they are too ashamed to post them or some of them even think oh, they were told these hopes " in confidence", hahaha
Funny enough if you ask ANY long what material thing have u ever been told by management that turned true? Can u say ever heard one positive thing that actually turned true?
U will just hear a rather shy silence...
Wondering if you got my email btw?
A yes or no, would suffice...interesting how much of a hype the latest open letter was able to generate..or not
Not only that, but look at the compensation table of the AGM notice, with the top five guys earning even for dismal (understatement of the century) performance around 7 million USD a year, now take the gross margins, and you get what kind of "scale" the business would have to become to make it anywhere close to profitable!
Since storage wont be the saviour in terms of growth, they would need to grow the virtualization side from miniscule to boom over $20 million a year (without any extra expenses for actual performance) in terms of paying again, just to afford what they are paying their top five guys!...thats even excluding Bookman and the other "consultants" they dont even list as they are not officially employees.
Meanwhile, look at the guys inside - but ups not classified as insiders- who seem to not be eager to buy stock at all, to the very contrary...
There is an explanation though:
I guess they dont want to buy stock (even sell!) so that retail shareholders have the benefit of buying cheaper stock instead of them...indeed they spend hours a day on the phone with retail shareholders to give THEM the chance...thats how nice they are! LOL
Do check their history...and in regards to the future...even a few back of the envelope calculations help...
IMHO
P.S. In regards to the lottery ticket analogy, whats the use of even a million dollar ticket, if the guys who then have to cash it in "for you" literally charge you millions and millions to cash it in? Simple enough "layman's" analogy?
I know, I was where you are still, for over two years, the happy denial. Blissful times they were. The thought that it is all temporary, you weren't wrong, no it was the market, or evil manipulation, and the picture of evil shorts as an enemy.
Despite all that I have come to know, not short the stock because I know how much private people who dont want to accept their mistake AND to not accept how long they did not accept the mistake (both are hugely costly, the second mistake (non-acceptance) even MUCH more than the former) are. They will call PB and PT etc. they will hear nice stories, of things to come etc etc..been there. I know how it works, I heard all these, I know how people will hang up the phone happy for a few minutes that all is going to be ok...and lets face it, many also think down here ok, lets put brave face on to others...dont want to show weakness and others to sell...and in worst case its goes to zero...Fair enough.
I am just sharing what I have heard, and come to learn, after yes undeniably making over 1'200 long posts that due to listening to management and various people acting as promoters resulted in how wrong and long I was, and earned me no credibility as a LONG poster. Why post my experience and some of what I learned?
Interesting psychological question that you are asking. Its like asking why does a woman that was raped want to at least mention what her attacker did to her? Is it going to reverse what happened to her? Is that also what you would ask her? So in your world you would argue, "hey everything happened already, you victims its done deal to you, shut up and suck it!"
Interesting view of the world, a world only those who prey on others would love to live in.
Not to forget John Morelli apparently had allegedly sold even more shares than he had originally owned!
I guess somebody didnt even think that when some of the restricted shares he owned and alledgedly sold of even more of than he owned, would become unrestricted, Sphere would still exist!
Seems the company then, with John Morelli receiving threats, allegedly even had to issue shares to give to the poor and very upset guys who allegedly had bought stock from JM that didnt even exist! I would have been VERY upset too!
Why would you sell all your shares as a founder in the first place? Hmmmmm...tough one...
Why would you even sell more stock than you had? If not for the "genius" idea that, hey if Sphere 3D is bankrupt by then, then nobody will miss those extra "restricted" shares that I sold that didnt even exist! Truly genius!
Even EK seems to have wondered "what John Morelli had been doing for 2 years?"
The logical guess is JM as it seems was just waiting for the inevitable too!
All is forgiven for apparent genius, however, except by SS who seems happily keep referring to John Morelli as "Willy Wonka"
Ups...told ya it would get more interesting...cats coming out of the bag yet...?
Oh sorry, all rumors, speculation and IMHO of course
I don't think PB would actually defend EK there, word is that PB said that EK "pulled the $40 mil. run rate out of his ass"
Apparently an ad verbatim quote...
Meanwhile, even SS seems to frequently refer to EK as "inept" and a "monkey", and PT "a liar" and a "greek crook"
LOL, what a gangbuster team!
IMHO of course
Well, at this point: My sincere apologies to Hugo, Derek, you and strut for nasty messages in the past at times, it was only as I was in the dark... you guys were in the light... I wish I would have listened to you all much earlier on..."the happy ears" as Derek called them, "got my hand stuck in the cookie jar" as zig zag adaptly put it, I humbly and very hurtfully have to admit that...nobody paid a higher price for my mistake and stubborn ignorance than me....I sincerely apologise.
I paid the price - a very, very high one - for my mistake and ignorance of the truth. Literally.
Part of my reasoning was also Peter Bookman saying that "they are training 50 or so guys at resellers a week". Oh, and "to check out the V3 patents"...
A HUGE light suddenly went on:
A) He said the same thing about GW on Azure, that 50 Microsoft guys were being trained to "sell GW on Azure every week", him repeating that a HUGE sudden light went on, he had said so about Azure months before he even publicly stated himself that it was "not an enterprise solution". WTF? Sometimes we get so engulfed we dont remember these things after months...And now the same spiel "50 guys being trained a week", again?? Really??
Then the second HUGE light:
B) Him saying "check out V3's patents. Everybody can"...well credit goes to you Derek for explaining the "A" for application stage that most V3 "patents" from years ago, never went beyond...Literally he was/is counting on us not reading or understanding these things...being taken for idiots - I was one of them, who didnt know admittedly what important things like a simple letter meant...thats all fine, if it had been admitted for proper reasons, but it was NOT, the contrary, it was clear how stupid they took/ take us for! The ultimate insult, "go check out the V3 patents" (which are mostly as seen by a simple letter, just applications from years ago...oh what a difference a simple letter makes...)
Derek then also posted details of the lawsuit against Peter Bookman where it dawned quickly when you read them, why a seemingly good guy like him, seemingly very clearly has his back against the wall and was/is forced due to his past, into a desperate financial and legal corner, to have to do what he does now (see above) desperate people have to do desperate things...
Many lights then followed...let me continue... A LOT of fun stuff then transpired once the eyes were opened...this is fun, you ARE right...
Oh, all IMHO of course
That and the funniest stories of like:
- Rumors of management wanting to sell RDX for oh, ups, you wont believe it $100-$120 million! Wow! What a realistic target! The lies have to get bigger and bigger to keep the baggies happy holding these days...
- Oh, and then we have rumors of hold your breath, a "glassphone" can you believe it! GW doesnt even run properly as an enterprise solution, but hey seem working with the likes of Samsung or Huwai and the Suraya brothers or whatever of Windmobile to bring out a glassphone with guys excitedly posting each other pictures of glassphones...hahaha.... Was meant to come out in June though...and meant to keep people holding in excitement...oh, but psst, not even key people inside Sphere 3D know of those rumors yet though, so dont ask about it...hush, hush, psssst....anything with glass in the name lets use it
Oh what, a shameful game this is!
What loads of incredible, amazing stories these circles come up with....oh the blunders...
- BUYERS BEWARE - :
As you will inevitably find out looking at all the Sphere 3D Press Releases, their history and what really transpired out of them, the conclusion will be VERY evident.
Here is a little help:
Always read all PRs for what they really are and what they really at minimum just say. Sphere 3D has an intricate web of deceit where people will be offered "hush, hush great development" explanations by a management and their accomplices very busy selling stock instead of product.
Look at my over 1'200 posts on i-hub and how I painfully tried to deny myself realitity on Sphere 3D for years and with great losses. Hoping that each "hush, hush great development" or empty PR about "partnerships" or "product launches" will suddenly, finally lead to big revenue. Even management later admitting there could not even have been revenue from "sell, sell, sell" as Glassware even years later was not even launched on Azure as an "enterprise product". Check how far the competition is and compare, IF you do NOT throughly understand it stay AWAY from this, if you do understand it you will anyway...
Try to examine value, growth and if even in a postive world it could really enough to stem the pressure from costly management selling shares - as most "management" is not registered as insiders (outrageous in itself) and hold very little to no shares anymore, yet seemingly keep getting millions of shares issued, who do these shares get sold to? Couldnt be retail investors could it?
Look at the annual compensation tables of the AGM notice with individuals earning millions! YES millions of dollars every year, for what seems can only be lack of performance or performance seemingly only related to the ability or willingness to pump the stock personally or by enlisting their industry friends to do favours by mentioning Sphere 3D somewhere...
Look at how the famous Glassware is not even patented in the US or how most V3's key "patents" were never followed up on beyond application (A) stage and the lawsuits facing the company and their officers, ehhm...contractors!
Ask yourself why Sphere 3D does garner so little if any industry attention, despite its "disruptive" technology, for years and years now...?
Ask yourself why people keep leaving Sphere 3D for reasons of "personal health"?
Ask yourself why institutional investors would for years now only ever touch this "disruptive" stock in the form of debt, if at all?
Ask yourself how come most management has an appaling track record? One of them, ok excusable, a collection is not a co-incidence...
So how come there are such seemingly dedicated retail followers?
1) management eager to tell stories (some of them hillariously outrageous), of course great developments always just around the corner, finally, yet somehow each of them finds hours every day to talk to retail investors, or promoters, or even the smallest of shareholders...
2) when people become shareholders, and ideally more than they can afford to loose, they get them to pump the stock in their own hope, denial and desperation that the great stories they first heard are true and to maintain the stock price either until they sell (note, retail is notoriously very reluctant to take a loss (as was I)) and to help pump until - the ever in vain hope of soon coming relief because of a big development surprise or performance surprise is there.... It is a never ending vicious cycle of Sphere 3D bagholders trying desperately their best to enlist other bagholders until their hole becomes true...while management enjoys a very fine living having ignited the cycle
3) Shareholders will either be communicating with management or other shareholders unwilling to take the loss. Even groups of private shareholders form...Hoping that it was all just a bad dream they fell for...
Oh, and finally beware of the labelling "the shorts" as whoever tries to publicly mention facts on Sphere 3D will be labelled as a short by bagholders and Sphere 3D management. SAD
Live and learn...
All IMHO
Please do so, will be interesting to hear you!
Finally!
Normally, you only promise to call in, but then never do....
Share the same sentiment overall. And nice to see you.
We are all just trying to educate ourselves and each other.
Pump and dump or not, we are not the enemies here, and not each others.
Kind regards,
A small fish in a big pond
Are you kidding me? Read ihub policies, posts that are off topic, vulgar or outright personal attacks get deleted. Moderators (am one) can suggest and delete, but ultimately each and every deleted message gets reviewed by ihub admin who re-instates when it was wrongfully deleted.
Ihub admin also frequently deletes long and short posts as professionals, as ihub moderators contrary to some people as we now established, dont get compensated and have to go by their day jobs. Many posts also get deleted of longs (why you dont mention those?). The rules apply to both sides, on the Sphere 3D board same as any other board.
P.S. Really funny, longs get rediculed for "conspiracy thories" and its super funny to see that the short side on Sphere has same and even more rediculous ones.
ER day tomorrow! Make sure to dial in!
Yes. Not getting compensated leaves no reason to be associated with either side. Who am I? Simply a private investor.
Your turn.
Man of your word or not?
To elaborate as asked you for the same, specific, this includes not only not having ever been or being or expecting to be compensated by the co, anybody else, or any other entity for any word, positive or negative on Sphere 3D.
Why so afraid of a clear answer to a specific question???
Thank u,
u did misspell my alias though, but going to let it slide
yo pal forgetting RDX
Same revenue line as virtualization so all u can do is to try to spread doubt by saying its not virtualization, ups, management waaay ahead of u
Nops, I didnt, personally used it from $1.50 or so, feel free to check was a bit early with the tic, toc but...not that early, still right
Somebody seems really happy to load up on this "stupid stuff, fluffy" stock
Tic, toc
Well, it looks like somebody is expecting news next week, and whoever bought ahead of the news, might then be selling into the news....
And might inadvertendly end up doing your handywork for you, so dont always take all the credit
And the "public service" motivation, not "buying it" LOL
Your pals could maybe help to locate some...they know how..."public service" is very undervalued these days...
So, say, who is saying that??
Facts please!
I dont think ANYBODY is saying that. Literally nobody...
They use their cards in the new appliances and a senior manager finds V3 products unique, so he joined the Advisory Board...
Thats about it...
Seems you are the only one who wants to spin it to more than it is...
Thats too funny....are you now complaining that the inventor of GW got far more shares than Peter T.?
LOL
"They refused to let ZDNet test it with out signing an NDA." thats very, very interesting, so that indicates they were willing and why did Zdnet refuse to sign an NDA?
So far you always stated Sphere 3D outright did not want a review....
Hmmmm....
Try again, the very least your Q3 and Q4 numbers are delirious. Why? No point to argue, just to see
They also had about $5 mil. in the bank then AND raised an additional $3.7 mil...at time of Opus deal...
Come on, no need to be that neglective...for unbiased reasons
And another fluffy 27 billion dollar IT company....oh Hugo doesn't like Techdata's own margins....oh, oh better short it then. Obviously their business model and revenue is not high enough for Hugo, who knows much better how to run a biz and identify IT than Techdata. Ups.
Please dont bother, the ingenuity its to pretend "oh share it for the longs" , while the intention is to just redicule all Microsoft, Novarad, Nvidia, Opus, Entisys, VMware etc etc. say, and declare even Techtarget's CTO as fluffy.
That approach should tell you enough, they declare themselves smarter than all of the above due to lack of revenue increases (which started in Q1) and SP...time will tell if we truely have smarter than IT executives of all these companies here graciously on ihub by giving "public service on ihub"
Absolutely no point...
"ANY will simply be using GRID cards in their appliances (paying money to NVIDIA for the part). GRID is basically a shared GPU that allows for more graphic-intensive applications to be run on a single box (eg medical imaging or 3D CAD)."
And being able to "simply" run graphic intensive applications is a very nice thing. Win Win, quite obviously
Thanks for posting! eom
Hahahaha, I never ever said GW was a "dud", that it wasn't ready yet as an enterprise out of the box product.
Again when using "quotation" marks it means you are quoting, maybe that's really hard, but no you understand that very well as in the last post you called Glassware disruptive, if you don't understand the usage of quotation marks. Actually, you called GW disruptive hundreds of times!
Very obvious what the whole intent and approach here is and from the time dedicated by shorts to it.
Funny stuff.
Ok, so the VP of Development of a small co in Toronto knows everything much better than billion dollar companies developing products for the VDI market, all these industry execs, banks and each and everybody...on everything!
That's the very clear theme here! Got it! LOL
No problem pal
P.S. Case closed on why most if not all longs left this Board, there is quite simply no point...
