Just think, if management would have been focused on actually making movies over the last few years maybe the stock wouldn't be in its current state.
In movie production big numbers fly around all the time. The reality is much different.
I don't know about 20 million to market. It's not as expensive these days, in my opinion, to get movies into theaters due to Digital Cinema Package's. They no longer have to buy prints for every theater.
If Yellow makes millions theatrically then the biggest shareholder should make millions with a dividend. Funny how things work out. Was this Jake's plan from the beginning?
Earlier I said I didn't think Yellow could make a few million at Netflix. But if they have a successful theatrical release that changes things in my opinion.
This sounds like a lot of people while Medient was being diluted into oblivion. Good luck with Shapiro.
It is my opinion that they couldn't get 2 million for Yellow at Netflix and Shapiro wouldn't have left it in Medient if it had any value. Sad to see a great opportunity missed like this.
Well said Finance Minister.
Because we still own this anvil.
I learned a highly profitable lesson. Any idiot can start a publicly traded company. Now if someone actually tried to make a profit with the company in the process, could you imagine the potential? LOL
Agreed. And why is Yellow still on the old Medient site stating it is an Indian company? These issues need to be addressed immediately. Best plan to get off of grays is to make a profit. I'm complaining about the name now so it will be changed early, before PR gets heavy with it.
Not trying to be curt. Just busy. In my opinion medient could easily turn around but every effort needs to be taken to do so.
In my opinion: I want the stock to do great but I'm not happy with the decisions that are being made. They don't seem professional. Each and every person working for them shouldn't be tweeting and posting on here. There should be a PR person to funnel everything through.
I don't have a problem with the writer/producer. I'm just disappointed that they named it R.I.P. for many reasons:
The movie will never be found on search engines when it releases because the name is too generic. For example if you type "R.I.P." in google you get 115,000,000. So how does our movie get found?
Every cartoon and joking reference to a cemetery headstone says R.I.P. on the face. Clich'e
The name is too close to the movie R.I.P.D. and when they take it to film markets everyone will walk past it.
They are making a horror movie about a cemetery, which is clich'e.
I'm here because I have a position in the stock like others. Also, I've personally produced movies on a smaller scale which got distribution and sold movies overseas.
Correct, I currently have no faith in medient. I have had in the past and had high hopes for Shapiro. So far, not impressed.
And you even stated to Chad that you thought the name was generic and he said it was tested. How? Did he tell you how? Or did he test it at the disco the night before? All ambiguous.
I believe the name R.I.P. is sale-proof. Hopefully the distributor will change it.
I'm with you. In my opinion the daughters shouldn't be helping a publicly traded company get back off the ground. Also, the screenwriter for an upcoming movie shouldn't be posting on here and also they shouldn't be wasting their time hunting down someone online for saying the name of the movie sucks. He was accusing people on twitter of being me. Sad. Is it even legal for people involved in a company to post on here? If so fine, but I wouldn't do it.
This is scary:

But not in a return on investment way in my opinion.
I want to believe it is true. There are a lot of things that they are doing in my opinion very badly. For instance, why is medient.com still promoting Yellow and all the rest of the movies on their website that was supposedly part of the MDNT ownership? but it says that it is an India Pvt Ltd. Either Manu brought all the pictures to the table or he didn't.
Yeah, it's just that easy. Hell, what do we need them for. Let's make a horror flick. LOL
Chad was right. I did use the incorrect work wreak instead of reek. He didn't argue the point though. At least the people that are running our investments into the ground can spell.
I thought only fraudsters and tricksters thought victims deserve what they get.
Sorry that happened. Good luck.
You think with the clusterF that this has turned into that it is the investors faults. I traded in and out of it and didn't get hurt, but people that bought it at $2 that believed the smoke that was blown up their backside didn't do anything to themselves. Good luck blaming the victims.
There's no telling how this stock will turn out but it has definitely derailed and hurt a lot of people.
I'm not saying the plot is bad. I'm saying terrible name. Hopefully they figure that out before it's released. When he starts talking about how easy it is to make movies these days that you can even make it with an iphone then he's bargaining down expectations on equipment used in advance in my opinion. No I don't think he's going to shoot it on an iphone.
Chad Darnell said the name R.I.P. tested well but didn't say how it was tested. Did he ask his buddies or did they do a legitimate test?
Agreed. I could screw up and come up with a better name than that. How about "Damn You To Hell" right off the top of my head? Not sure what the flick is about but it is in line with The Damned.
I agree. They are going to need to team up with a studio that will invest funds for advertising. Otherwise this puppy is going to end up on the art house circuit. Then it will make squadush!
I highly doubt that Yellow is a POS.
I understand why he changed it. But, the choice is miserable. Or they could have kept it and called it the working title and see if the other project even comes together. Meanwhile you have the mystique of people wondering what the name will be.
Don't think I need to argue with the killing people and their families humor. Lots of people have money in this and want everyone involved to take it seriously. Regardless, it looks like he's too far up the food chain to be posting things like that.
We have fun on the set but everyone takes everything very seriously, including statements online. I've been fortunate in picking great people.
Everything from this point forward should be handled with kid gloves as if it were being run by Chainsaw Al. Frugal and professional. You can earn respect and credibility if they do.
Trust me I want the very best for Medient and would do anything I could to help, but when I see mistakes like that they need to be called out.
In my opinion this guy Chad Darnell wreaks of absolute flakedom with this posting of his:
http://chaddarnell.typepad.com/runchadrun2/2014/08/rip.html
They are changing the name of The Damned to R.I.P.? Not funny on a floundering stock. The headlines write themselves. Stupid! Also, he professionally states multiple times he will kill anyone that takes the name when there is already multiple shorts, videos and tv shows with that name. Not to mention the fact when they start marketing the name, buyers are going to offhand think that it is R.I.P.D. which is years old.
Also, why name it something so generic. You think people are going to be able to find it in a google search? No!
I'm not slamming it to affect the stock. Have no intentions of buying any more and am already balls deep in it. It's starting to piss me off how this thing is being managed. I'm currently in the film business on a smaller scale and know better than to make these asinine errors in judgement. So, Jake Shapiro, if you are reading this contact me and I'll help you save this P.O.S. before it actually goes R.I.P.
In my opinion Scam was already fired.
Then Manu dissolves the corporation? Pass!
Priceless!
That's just since 2010. Hopefully everyone still considers Yellow to be an asset that can bring us out of this.
Hahaha. How is the a conversation. Cracking me up. I would jump out of a building if I lost 10,000% of my money.
I'd say you're right.
I never thought from the beginning that they would get anything close to the artwork on the project. Most contractors probably laughed at Manu for it. Nothing wrong with dreaming but unfortunately we live on a planet called Earth and have to abide by certain parameters like reality. I'm sure the green concept went over with a lot of the gov people but really it was completely unnecessary. Not to mention the green fatigue that is going around the country. Not a real selling point.
A lot of these business/government deals go bad because the gov has no stomach for business and they usually have knee-jerk reactions to issues that time will heal. Really I could care less if they have the property or not. All we need is quality movies being made. You definitely don't need large parcels of land to get that done.
Manu diluted everyone's position so he got what he deserved.
In my opinion if Manu can prove that they took the company from him illegally (doubt it) and then prove to a judge that the company has no assets or income (doubtful).
Nobody but the corporation owes the debt. Remember corporations are people too.
He said Nevada.
