Yes I understand that Karin, do you think results would be even better?
Which tobacco company sponsored this "research"?
"Low-Nicotine Cigarettes Fail to Sway Smokers"....what a joke of a title and spin on results
A 40% reduction in number of cigarettes smoked (a year after the study ended!!!) is not positive???
"Smokers who received research cigarettes had stated that they consumed an average 20 cigarettes daily at the start of the study. This fluctuated slightly during the first 12 months and plunged to a reported 13 cigarettes at the two-year mark."
This is even 12 months after participants stopped getting the low nicotine cigarettes!!
"At 12 months, provision of both regular and research cigarettes was terminated.."
The so called conclusions of Dr Benowitz is suspect at best and at worst his academic credentials should be reviewed by UCSF, San Francisco General Hospital (assuming they're not on the take by big tobacco also), the American medical Association.
What smoker wouldn't be ecstatic by being able to reduce their smoking 40% and not change a single thing about how they smoke or how their cigarette tastes?
What's the process for challenging the "findings" of yet another bogus big tobacco spin report?
If Glassware is the secret sauce in the newly announced XBox backwards compatibility it should bring significant revenue. XBox sold 10 million copies last year at around $400 a pop. Say Glassware is worth $10 a unit? 100 million baby!!!
BTW Nintendo sold 20 million copies of PS4 last year.......
I Agree Canes, I'm long and strong. I just wish Leo would start under promising and over delivering. I think he's done a great job moving this company forward but some of his communications have indicated great things to come (in the short term) which haven't materialized so its hurt his credibility IMHO.
i wonder if Microsoft negotiated a right of first refusal with Sphere3D as part of partnership, giving Microsoft the right to match any offer to buy S3D
Report states 58 stockholders. Really? Wow i knew this was a small company....but i didn't think it was that small....
I gotta think the average store would want to order at least a couple hundred dollars to support a new product launch. So 900 stores * 200 is 180,000.
what was it that he allegedly did?
Awesome summary COB
with potentially millions on the line in funding I hope CTIX hires a head or an agency to apply, apply, apply....
wow i like the $57mill in govt research funding.....I hope Leo is applying for more.....
Nice to see Pfizer's Ibrance cancer drug was approved by the FDA after phase 2 results. Let's go Dana Farber!!!
It blows my mind a deep pocketed entrepreneur/company wouldn't license polycide and build a multi billion dollar company (with of course half going to CTIX). The opportunity is enormous yet CTIX doesn't have the resources to do it alone at least for the foreseeable future. Seems like a good time to license no?
Much more impressive website than several months ago. Conveys a much more sophisticated presence. Good to see maturing approach to marketing their solutions!
Hopefully its #5 and its much higher than 15% chance that Leo knows a partnership deal is going to be made soon so support for the company's stock won't be an issue on NASDAQ.
I really like the "click here for quotation" button!!! Too bad we don't know the pricing model but I'm certain it'll have great ROI. I look forward to lots of clicking sounds.....
Wow I guess that means the shorts beat Sheldon. Perhaps that was their ultimate goal? Maybe they're finished with ANY now.....
I thought Pinetree Capital owned a s***load of ANY stock. Any idea why they don't show up here? http://www.nasdaq.com/symbol/any/institutional-holdings
Wow quick study compared to seemingly endless K. How come their study specified exactly 8 cohorts while for K number of cohorts is TBD?
Coming to the Dell online store soon.....a Glassware option just like they sell the VMWare options for anywhere from $2,500 to $13,600 per machine!!!
Interesting....not exactly two companies in growth mode....I sure hope 1+1+1=100
B can take on V or D with ease if the one day treatment holds...
Came across this article:
http://www.biocentury.com/biotech-pharma-news/coverstory/2011-08-01/optimer-cubist-hoping-for-first-line-market-for-antibiotic-dificid-in-cdad-a1
"Initially, we had to communicate with doctors about the rapid bactericidal effects of Cubicin vs. IV vancomycin," Perez said.
Phase III results in 562 patients with cSSTIs showed only 21% of Cubicin patients required >7 days of treatment vs. 60% for the comparator group receiving either vancomycin or a semi-synthetic penicillin; 79% of those receiving once-daily Cubicin required 4-7 days of IV treatment vs. 40% of patients.
And so far these experts only see generics as competition to Cubicin???.....wow are they asleep at the wheel? Can't wait for everyone to realize how B will change the world!!
I submitted my comments to the FDA. Nicotine addiction is a terrible thing, whether smoked or in snus. They really need to find a way to make these products less addictive. Anyone know how they could do that? :)
I'd recommend We The People start a petition. I'm invested in a pharma company that faces the same FDA foot dragging. They started a petition and got the required 100,000 signatures that requires the White House to investigate and respond to the public request.
See the petition site here:
http://theracetoyes.org/
Here's an article about it: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/local-news/ryan-dunnes-white-house-petitionfor-duchene-md-drug-approval-reaches-100000
I don't know if its enough to force the FDA into action but it sure couldn't hurt. With such a huge health care issue, inaction kills.
I'd start the petition but I'm not an American.....anyone??
maybe they should hire them to lobby NAAG also....i wonder how much Big Tabacco spends....
The article was good for a chuckle. Its the first time I've seen an "analyst" judge a company by its lobby. I'm surprised she didn't mention the curtains, wall paint colors or type of coffee. Wow
I also wonder if XXII Mgmt aren't stunned by the HTFBS's insights. As Gretzky said skate to where the puck will be not where it is. Maybe Mgmt is worried HTFBS's connects the dots a little too well, don't want to tip their hands to the competition and hurt shareholders inadvertantly? Taking their "can't talk about that" stance a little further perhaps? These are formative times in the making of a Gorilla, protect the baby beast at all costs......
The ad ran well on my laptop but seemed a bit grainy...
same old drivel fred...is that all you`ve got....
Great article I can see why SA (shorts) didn't want it published!
This is great visibility for spiffy, though I'm a little surprised I don't see them as presenters as well as sponsors.
Does anybody know of a tobacco company or two who's been through this before? How long did it take them to get MSA? As with everything with lawyers involved it always takes longer than you'd expect....
Makes you wonder doesn't it.....if Big Tobacco pay less to states because of non-participating small tobacco companies selling lots of cigs....maybe they actually want more small tobaccos?
I suspect the short volume picked up just before the SA hit piece on April 14......
If I had to guess what the money's for I'd say a new JV with China National Tobacco. Export leaves to China, roll them in new factory(ies) there for local distribution? Doing business in China requires JV, mandated by Chinese. It seems to me a $90mil investment could establish a significant manufacturing footprint!!
|How come they originally planned on European trials for both K and P but haven't done either?[/quote]
I like the retinoblastoma angle....great way to help these kids and get kevetrin the recognition it deserves. Anyone know where we stand with advancing Kevetrin for this indication?
when are they going to change the name to DRIVES???
DRIVE stands for Dell, Redhat, Intel , VMware on Epic and Sphere3D
awesome report jockin
really interesting to see the difference in returns post IPO vs. post secondary offering....MM's make out like bandits every time
