Rob, of course I got my post out first. It's easier to just blurt something out than to compose a treatise. LOL I enjoy your writings, they make slow down and think.
Ernie
Since I saw Cosmo's post re; fudging, and this would be an important issue, I tracked the post back to the beginning. I can't believe all this is about Ophelia saying I "think not" to Brad's MBA. I can't believe this would be pursued without something more than that even on this board. Even an,I checked and could't find anything, would be better than just an "I think not from some alias on a stock board.
Ernie
Lortap, can you read? Yesterdays exchange was a good example of why I keep the wolf pack on ignore most of the time. I repeat most of the time. I took the ignores off this am and read some of your posts trying to figure our what you are doing moderating. With the ignores on I only see the headings of what those not on ignore are saying to those on ignore. Sometimes my interest is peaked, but I have to turn the ignores off to read the reply and sometimes the post that was replied to. Your readiness to call people liars discredits your reasoning powers. I keep many on ignore and try not to read their posts does not say I never read any of the posts.
Ernie
Now now boys don't be posting "off topic" stuff. You know if it's not about scams it's off topic. We evidently can't post about where Rim's "supposed technology" is applicable. How it's moarket is growing or any such dribble because it's considered off topic by some of our resident naysayers.
I personally like to hear the hows and whys of where and how and the demand for our tech. So, i'll just pretend the tech exists and consider any posts about it usefull and valuable information.
Ernie
Judging from the missing post numbers the naysayers are getting desperate trying to make everything negative. I believe their time is coming and they'll have to give it up.
Ernie
Rim bought 1021 Tech and hired Dr Tan for his knowledge and contacts. I don't find the relationship curious it sounds like the credibilty gained and introductions made were instrumental.
Good job, Rim
Ernie
Remember naysayers I very seldom read anything you post, because it is too predictable and redundant to be of value. Also, that way I am not tempted to try to answer you which serves no purpose other than to give you a platform to repeat your negative, redundant, predictable dribble.
Rim will prove one side or the other right soon enough.
Those with a negative position see everything through scam colored glasses. The investors see things through legit colored glasses.
Ernie
As for the possibility of companies and industry experts helping Rim with a scam, my attitude is follow the money. First if you have companies or experts that are inclined that way there has to be big compensation for them. If Rim does not have the product they say they will not generate the kind of money it would require. The only known source of money we know about are shares. The very minimum bribe required would be millions. Each million requires 10 million shares.
As for the lies of the company. I don't see it. Yes there has been some spin. Spin is a multi level entity. Most spin is simply outlook. If a company wants to succeed they have to have a positive outlook. They must pass that positive outlook on to their workers, supporters, and investors. That is simply putting forth the most positive outlook possible and keep working toward that outlook to overcome any obstacles. Sometimes that may reach a level that can be called lying. However, people with a negative outlook will never succeed.
We may have some missed deadlines, but most of those deadlines were investor imposed and not actually stated by the company. Other "lies" were erroneous perceptions of individuals.
I just don't see much of a possibilty of a scam here. That is not to say we will positively disrupt the entire broadband over copper world and make hundreds of millions. That is yet to be seen. Even good products over the years have failled for a variety of reasons, but at this point I believe there is a product that performs as touted.
Ernie
Another example of naysayer logic. They allied themselves with Rim, so, that is proof positive they are scammers. To me this spells desperation. It's automatic with them. Their opinion that Rim is a scam is the basis for all future evaluations. All investors are either stupid or crooked, all allied companies are either duped or scammers. Even tho it is inconceivable that Extreme Copper, or Logic Research signed up for our chips without a thorough investigation the naysayers who have no inside information are just by nature possessors of God given knowledge.
Even tho it is still possible for Rim to be a scam, I put the possibility at about 1%. That puts the possibilty that our naysayers are full of it at 99%.
I do agree," eventually truth will prevail"
Ernie
I know the arguments concerning putting posters on ignore, but I have heard the same arguments about Rim hundreds of times (probably thousands). Having certain predictable posters on ignore keeps me from engaging them. Engaging them just gives the excuse to post the same old messages again.
I still would like to see some discussion of what the company is doing and industry related topics. I know the risks, and this is still a high risk investment. However, the more companies and industry execs and experts that express an opinion about Cupria the more I am sure that there is a product that performs as touted by the company. Will it be successfully deployed? Even if it is successfully deployed will it be a huge enough success to prove profitable for investors considering the OS. I don't have the answers. I believe we could easily see dollars a share, but it would have to be extremely successful to make that several or even a few dollars/share. That would mean those that bought at current levels or were able to average down to these levels will do very well. There are some that bought or held at higher levels that may not recover.
I just can't side with those that say they "know 100% that this is a scam with no product" That makes every company, corporate officer, industry expert that says otherwise either stupid or a liar/ scammer. The chances that these companies and individuals who are real people with reputations to protect are making bogus uninformed statements are extremely slim. The chances that posters on this board most of whom are aliases only without reputations and jobs to protect are making uninformed, reckless statements with agendas and in some case personal biases against the company is near 100%.
So, I continue to side with those public statements and hold with every intention of buying more as funds allow. I realize there is risk and I am willing to accept those risks.
Ernie
I was thining nobody had anything to say this weekend, but I see there's about 11 missing posts I don't see. Oh well! LOL!
Ernie
It's SOOOO!!!!! much more peaceful with my ignores on. There is not going to be the changing of any minds with the exchange here among the regulars anyway. Any post just gives the naysayers a platform to work with. Rim will prove the case of one side or the other shortly. With the eSilicon/ TSMC pr's they will either have to put up or shut up shortly. We longs are betting the odds are with us. The only odds the naysayers are giving are for 100% no product.
Ernie
And there are many that follow that pattern and are successes.
It is like basketball (or many other things) He takes possesion, he dribbles, his path is blocked he pivots, fakes, reverses path, finally he jumps and shoots, whether it goes in the Rim at this point is any ones guess.
Yesterdays exchange was a good example of why I keep the wolf pack on ignore most of the time. If you say anything they attack, if the company says anything they attack, if any company or official says anything they attack. I only wish that when the company produces actual verifyable sales volume that can't be denied they would get their just rewards, but alas since most of them are just aliases without the need to live with their reputations they don't need to live with anything. They will in two minutes be posting somewhere else under another name. Most likely they are already and in multiplicity.
and I haven't seen any verification of most of your accusations.
If the rumors I hear were true, then there are several paid bashers on the board. Paid by someone who has an interest in keeping the sp down or the tech from being sold and implemented.
Saying if does not excuse the accusation. The fact that you accuse so easily makes your contention that your here to save the huddled masses a little hard to believe. You have to care about the masses before you want to spend your time out of the goodness of your heart to save them.
Ernie
I said that only as I knew what you and your ilk would say. It was sarcasm.
Ernie
Poorboy, congratulations, I wish I could do that. Hope you make a million or two.
Ernie
This is exactly why your logic and conclusions are rejected. Not only is management corupt, anyone who afiliates themselves with the company are liars and cheats. I know a couple of investors that tried to get in bed with management and were rejected, but they both post on the other side of the fence.
I feel that if any longs were going to be approached by the company to promote the company for shares or any other type of alledged behavior I would have been one. Nothing even approaching that has ever been suggested to me.
Ernie
You know Bill, you have always said that the message board has no effect on the sp. Yet you (and others)also say yu are keeping up the good fight to save investors from a bad investment. So, if you are successful at stopping people from investing it doesn't affect the sp? Maybe if there is no other reason for you to sell, if you dumped on the market you could give the negative momentum necesary to stop some investors.
Ernie
It would appear so. It also projects something about expected volumes. If realistic then even with the huge outstanding we should see some significant sp gains.
Ernie
So, criticizing his walk across the street has something to do with his job performance?
None of us has any real idea what it has taken to keep this tech developement alive. None of us knows exactly what they had and when they had it, or what it has taken to develope it. (I know this is assuming Rim actually has something to sell).
The only reasonable protest we have is to invest or not/ hold or not. Unless you have evidence to introduce in court all your endeavors only serve to hurt those who choose to invest or hold. Therefore your attacks are against the investors even more than management.
Ernie
So, Goldy, if you get bonuses per reply maybe we could work out a deal with you and your cohorts. You post "Good Morning" we reply 10 times and you shut your mouth so to speak for the rest of the day.
Ernie
So, in case anyone missed it;
President's Letter
January 12, 2007
Dear Fellow Shareholders,
In mid-December Rim Semi and eSilicon Corporation announced that eSilicon has become a major new partner in the production of the Cupria™ family of transport processors. This partnership is very important to us. Investors who do not live and breathe the chip business, as we do, may not have a good feel for the potential impact of this partnership on our future, so I want to take a few moments of your time to explain it, and to show you why I am excited about it.
First, eSilicon is a very high quality company. Their roots are in the old Bell Labs, which to this day is legendary for its commitment to quality. We expect that we will benefit by having an application–specific standard part (ASSP) that works the first time and does not have to be “re-spun”, as is unfortunately so common in the semiconductor industry. This should speed our time to revenue.
Second, eSilicon was eager to receive shares of our common stock instead of cash. If you are a long-time investor in Rim Semi, you weren’t too surprised to see that we wanted the acceptance of stock to be a key feature of the business arrangement. We have always tried to use stock because it aligns the interest of the business partner to your interests. Examples include HelloSoft, Zaiq Technologies, and several engineering consulting firms. In other words, the good people who work for our partner companies want precisely the same thing that you and I want, which is for the price of their shares of stock to rise.
Third, eSilicon will let us use their design tools, their process engineers, and their operations database. If they didn’t, we would have to go out and get these resources. The cash outlay would be in the three to five million dollar range! This is a tremendous advantage for Rim Semi shareholders because it reduces our expenses dramatically.
Finally, our business relationship with eSilicon extends even one more step deeper. By owning the yield and the work in process, they shoulder all of the risk and growth capital. For example, if for some unforeseen reason fewer chips can be produced per wafer than we project should be produced, the resulting higher costs are borne by eSilicon. As another example, if we receive a purchase order for a million chips, all of the costs for the raw materials and production are borne by them. If they were not bearing these costs, it could costs us several million dollars just to make and ship a one million unit order. Under this partnership, we avoid this huge expense. Although it may be difficult to see how exciting this benefit is now, I am confident that you will see in the future how critical it is, and that the bigger we grow, the greater the benefit to us.
So if this partnership is so good for you, then what does eSilicon get out of it? In a word, volume. When they produce a lot of chips, eSilicon spreads its costs out among tens of millions of units and makes money. Does eSilicon believe that Rim Semi’s volumes will be high? I asked Jack Harding, their chairman and CEO what he sees in the Cupria™ product line. He told me that our “innovative broadband technology, which increases the capacity of existing telephone networks, will provide the telecommunications market with a state-of-the-art solution for high-speed data applications”. Solutions like ours can grow to high volumes very quickly.
So what kind of volumes are we talking about? Potentially, very large volumes. Today the world has 1.3 billion copper loops, and approximately 160 million of them have been fitted with DSL technology. (And even those 160 million lines are incapable of serving a quality TV signal). We believe that over the next few years, the number will double to over 300 million DSL lines around the world and over 100 million lines will require new semiconductor technology, like we and our competitors offer, to enable premium grade service including High Definition IPTV. Each upgrade means $10 to $20 in chip sales, so the equipment makers will order billions of dollars worth of chips to make it happen. Like us, eSilicon believes that Cupria™ will get its share of this emerging multi-billion dollar marketplace.
Opportunities to invest in and to work with new semiconductor companies that can potentially drive these kinds of volumes are rare. Not only was eSilicon eager to join our team, but they also brought TSMC to us. TSMC, the world’s largest independent chip fabricator, seeks to only work with the highest volume parts. They are known to reject customers which they think will only bring small volumes to them. Through eSilicon, they have now become another important piece in our supply chain.
I trust that this letter makes it clear to you that our new partnership with eSilicon, and through them TSMC, is a very positive development for your investment. We hope to reap the benefits of higher quality at a much lower cost. Please join me in welcoming eSilicon to the team.
Sincerely,
Brad Ketch
President and CEO
Rim Semiconductor Company
One of our illustrious posters berated Brad for the timing of the presidents letter. WHAT this isn't a press release. It's a letter to the shareholders. It doesn't need a punch for timing. It is available for any that look for it.
I believe if you saw Brad walk across the street you'ld find something to criticize about it.
Ernie
Imagine that. eSilicon fronting the costs. (how much cost is there when there is no product LOL) TSMC only deals in high volume chips.
Ernie
Apparently the same thing he does everyday. Makes one think it is his job.
well said!
Ernie
Another thing is that those of you who claim to be here to save investors just doesn't ring true to me. If you were truly just interested in saving other people your demeanor would be overall much more gracious. You do not appear to be others centered.
For some I know there is pain and loss that is easier to handle when you put all the blame on others. For several here I suspect alterior motives.
Ernie
I have always said that I haven't sold any shares I didn't have too. Although this means I didn't make a million which was possible it turns out that I did a lot better than I thought. I went into retirement mode right after the highs were reached. I moved to Washington state where I was not working. I paid all my Father and Mother's depts as per an agreement I had with them. I also paid off my bills and bought a car for my 16 year old daughter. We got new furniture etc and as necessqary I paid expenses until going back to work.
When I look at the overall results. I have covered all my investments (not just in this company). I did this at dollars/ per presplit shares. I now have free shares waiting just in case. I am also living much more comfortably than I was before.
As I said your opinion that your opinion constitutes fact does not constitute fact.
Ernie
Ernie
Your still saying I lost a ton here. Your saying it doesn't make it true. Again that is only your opinion.
I also know another mossie who hasn't lost.
Others who haven't sold may not have lost depending on the final outcome.
Also, there was another PR discussing patents back when Adaptive was working on the tech.
Ernie
I don't know where Goldrusher gets the idea we have to account or prove anything to him in order to justify our feelings and decisions. His opinion that this is a scam, is simply an opinion and that of an alias only, which for me makes him a non person. Since, this non person made a decision based on his research and logic the decisions of any longs, company executives, and researchers that decided differently based on their research (with access to inside info and the actual product) are void because this alias says. So therefore we must defend everything that we say against "I researched and decided"
Phooey, Ernie
And it's up 5 times it's low.
So what?
It's interesting that you think executives and scientists in the industry can be deceived by Rim, but not you because you visited the office once and decided. Therefore, those who have laid hands on and have the equipment and expertise have to be the ones that are wrong.
I at least allow the possiblility that I could be wrong, and have decided I can live with that. For you and a few others this is a 100% scam no other conclusion is possible.
Ernie
That is pretty much my point Goldy. If you are predisposed to the most negative outlook possible then that is all you can see. If you are predisposed to the most positive outlook possible that is what you see. The best answer is to not have a preconceived idea at all, but that is an unobtainable goal.
Now I tend to be a very positive person. I would rather live with a positive attitude and sometimes be wrong then to expect the negative. You tend to get what you expect.
In this case in order to expect that Rim is a scam you have to assume that anybody who says different is a liar or involved in a scam. That is just too much negativity. If I felt that way I would sell and move on, and not hang out everyday trying to convince everyone that I was right. I'm not saying I wouldn't visit once in a while and give my reasons, but oncein a while is way different from everyday all day long.
Ernie
Good to hear from you Westerly. Ernie
I can see how someone who starts with the assumption that this (Rim and Cupria) is a mess could then interpret the statement that way. However, if your mechanic says that you need a transmission overhaul and I'm booked up and transmissions are not my area of expertise so please take it to a transmission shop, I don't take it that he is saying "I no longer want to have anything to do with your car because it is a piece of junk" (this is the leap you are making.)
We still haven't established that Hellosoft is the go to company to lay down the blueprint for the layers of silicon to be manufactured. We know that eSilicom is because that is their relationship with TSMC.
Ernie
When I occaisionaly read the posts by our naynays things like Goldy's post where he concludes that contracting with eSilicon to move Cupria into manufacturing means Hellosoft bailed because the tech was no good makes me so outraged at the lengths they will go to make up stuff out of thin air that all other deductions they make are tainted beyond any value.
Show me where Hellosoft is the go to company for this stage of commercialization, where they have broght other techs to the manufacturer without any assistance. Show me a quote from them or Rim where they wash there hands of Rim and Cupria.
I may have a mechanic I love, but when my transmission needs overhauling I would probably go to a transmission shop. Then when my starter stops working I would go back to my mechanic.
Ernie
Guys OK New Visual had a product that was good in the 3d. I still like it but it didn't sell to make us a profit. Along came the New Wheel Boys. The product looked good and tested well as a bench full of equipment. In theory it should have been a slam dunk to reduce it to a chipset. Something in the translation failed. It would not make it to commercialization. However, in the process of developing New Wheel the contacts, research, and knowledge gained brought them to a different but similar tech. It takes time to develope tech especially without funds and in the aftermath of the tech bubble burst. So, regrettable not without significant dilution, we are on the verge of commercialization of a potentially significant product. (I'm sorry guys but we (longs) are just not buying that all these companies are lying for us or are just too stupid to know they are being scammed. They are professionals in the telco arena you are not) The name changes from New Visual to Rim is not a negative. The name change from Embarg to Cupria is a positive because of the contact with Embarg (the corporation). Just because a new company is helping to move Cupria into manufacturing doesn't say anything negative about the tech or Hellosoft. You guys can sure make stuff up. Companies need new alliances all the time in different stages of developement.
The time before the development of Embarg/Cupria doesn't count for much of anything. The investments made before that beginning were lost. Management has kept this company alive and your investment by changing gears and working on this tech. This tech has been in development only since they gave up on New Wheel.
Get over it. In the near future Rim will either prove itself or not. None of the rah rah or nay nay posts are going to affect it.
Ernie
