Twitter Inc Teams With Foursquare
Posted date: December 17, 2014 07:59:36 AM
Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) may be planning to add more location features to make its product more useful for users. The micro-blogging platform is believed to have partnered with Foursquare. The two are planning to come together to add locations to tweets in 2015, says a report from Business Insider, which cites a source familiar with the deal.
Twitter builds location department
In the first quarter of 2015, we might get to see the new geo-based features being rolled out by the company, says BI. Twitter is said to be staffing a new location department. The company has already hired David Blackman, a geo lead from Foursquare, and has listed on its website job openings for six other geo-engineers.
Twitter presently has a limited number of location features that identify the user’s location whenever he or she signs up, and the location listed by the users in their bio. However, now the company wants to determine the location from where tweets are originating.
Location is being seen as a “vehicle of discovery” by the company, according to by a spokesperson at Twitter, who did not acknowledge the partnership with Foursquare, says BI. Some of the geo features the micro-blogging company is planning to roll out are local recommendations, venue check-ins in tweets, and organization of content around the current whereabouts of users, according to the spokesperson.
Twitter outlined similar plans recently
Twitter already revealed some plans to tackle issues with location-based features in an analyst day presentation recently. The company also ran a test in a few major cities with new users who were shown a bunch of tweets tied to the location from where they registered themselves on Twitter. It was observed that users who were shown location-based content were more likely to log into their Twitter accounts in the next 30 days compared to the ones who were not shown the content.
An executive at Twitter stated, “Our goal is to take those learning’s and scale them to the rest of the world.”
He added that they were looking forward to nailing two key location-based components. The first one was to figure out the location from where content came, and the second is understanding the places a user cared about. They want to know when you are accessing Twitter where are you standing and whether is it your home country or some other place on the globe that drew your attention.

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) traded lower Tuesday, subject of mixed analyst notes this week, including one Tuesday from Evercore ISI analyst Ken Sena, who lowered his price target on the social media firm to $45 from $55 while maintaining a Buy rating. The analyst cited mixed traffic trends.
“Using today’s comScore release, in addition to Evercore ISI survey work, we parse Twitter’s relatively weak October/November traffic trends and offer comparison vs. peers across mobile usage. Unfortunately, we find TWTR to be ceding some ground to faster growing competitors, such as [Facebook’s (FB)] Instagram, who also now rival TWTR’s scale,” Sena said. JMP Securities gave it an Outperform rating this week. Goldman Sachs included Twitter in an upbeat note on internet stocks Tuesday.

Good Time To Invest In Twitter Inc (TWTR): JMP
Posted date: December 16, 2014 10:50:37 AM
Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) was assigned a Market Outperform rating and a price target of $49 per share by JMP Securities on Monday. JMP analyst Ronald V. Josey believes the micro-blogging site is heading toward stable user growth and that this is not reflected in the current share price.
Many positives for Twitter
Josey noted the micro-blogging site has more than 284 million active users who generate more than 500 million tweets per day, making Twitter attractive to users who want instant news and information on most events across the world.
He expects Twitter to expand its user base to slightly more than the consensus estimate. He’s projecting that monthly active users will increase 7.5 million compared to Street estimates of 7 million. In the year 2015, he expects the company to add 49.5 million users, a drop from 50 million this year. For fiscal 2016, the user growth rate might increase to 51 million, suggests the analyst.
Josey stated that with “unaided brand awareness of 80 percent, we believe Twitter and its ‘#’ are now firmly ingrained in global culture.” The JMP analyst is upbeat on Twitter, noting there is a high barrier to entry given the global reach and the inherent value of real-time web for Twitter. Other positives listed by the analyst are differentiated content, improvement of the product, which would lead to improved engagement and new users, deep advertiser relationships, early days in monetization, and expanding margins.
Short-term headwind
The analyst noted that Twitter might face some risk in the short term around fourth quarter MAU growth, but “we believe this is priced in at current levels and we expect MAUs to rebound in 1Q15 as overall engagement benefits from Twitter’s product improvements.”
Twitter stock has seen some correction since the company’s analyst day, and there are some concerns around usage, however, the analyst notes that the product is improving and offers differentiated content. He believes the company has a differentiated service for the real-time web. Additionally, the analyst thinks it is a good time to invest, considering the increase in MAUs. The micro-blogging site is investing in its product, which the analyst feel will pay off in 2015.

Twitter's (NYSE:TWTR) monthly active users would've fallen Q/Q in Q2 if not for a World Cup-driven boost, according to two sources. One source estimates Twitter will report Q2 MAUs in the "very low" 260M range, up only modestly from the 255M Twitter reported having at the end of Q1.
A note of caution: The sources are software developers with access to Twitter's API data, rather than Twitter's internal data. Also, the data is extrapolated from samples, albeit ones containing hundreds of millions of users.
Though far from definitive, the data meshes with the user growth fears that have weighed on Twitter's shares, and motivated the company to make a string of product (and perhaps also management) changes. Twitter's MAUs rose 6% Q/Q in Q1, and 4% Q/Q in Q4.TWTR -0.6% AH. Q2 results (along with MAU figures) arrive on 29 July 2014.

We've got two info from this pattern: :)
1) Following this bearish signal, if prices go up instead of going down, and close or make two (Note: 2) consecutive daily highs above the stop loss level ($65.58), while no bullish pattern is detected, then the stop loss is triggered.
2) If prices keep on falling on the following days, a major reversal of the trend takes place.
