Another thing that occurred to me was RO's statement that he downloaded some software but didn't see it on his desktop.
However, RO, remember those instructions I gave you recently about locating system tools?
You need to do something similar. Click on Start/programs/and when the list opens ('drops down') look for the name of the software package you downloaded. Right click once on it, and choose "Send to->" and then click 'desktop'. You should then see an icon on your desktop. You can move it around to organize your screen.
My thought is that RO has gradually accumulated so much spyware, adware, etc., that his system is choking on it.
The three freeware packages I recommended might help him with these problems.
Unfortunately, I see from his post at the Book Board that he can't post here any more.
RO, you should check daily if you can't post here. I think it might be that you have a "free" membership that lets you post up to five times a day, but since we were all grandfathered in, we get to make unlimited posts.
Holy moly, of all the people to run into here, and after such a long time.
In as much as Righton's been able to see the ways in which he was deceived, welcome back, RO.
My brother and sister-in-law are facing the same problem with their Win98 operating system, since I've learned Microsoft will absolutely, positively stop providing support for it after July 11th. I think a good solution for both of you would be to try installing Firefox, and then installing the Google toolbar once you've downloaded Firefox.
I'm intrigued by your mention of the old PI Alt board; the last time I bothered to look, it appeared that GW had simply left it lapse, since there had gotten to be so few responses.
Try going here:
http://www.fewpb.net/downloads.htm
This is the website for my local ISP, and the nice thing about it is, ANYONE can download what's on the page, even if you're not a subscriber. I suggest downloading SpywareBlaster, Ad-aware, and AVG for anti-virus protection. I use all three of them.
Good luck, I think.
Oh, I don't know. At least I'm only a couple of weeks behind you.
Seriously, I've been thinking of updating the Alpha Bitch Posse Saga, so keep checking in from time to time.
Jeeze, doesn't ANYBODY come here anymore?
I guess not. Yet, I shall return.
Yo, Memers!
Dang, girl! I was beginning to think that I was the only member of the old Crew who still even bothered to check this place out daily!
But what she says is true, Welles. Keep coming back here and post whatever you want to say.
I'm just posting to defend the honor of the board!
And because...
I think it's about damn time SOMEBODY posted to this board!
Sometime soon, once a few items of personal business are attended to, I'm planning to post another episode of the adventures of ... well, those of you who know, will know that of which I speak.
You're welcome, Meme. Better late than never.
Wow, someone else who's read Njal's Saga!
Of course, I haven't read it since freshman English -- but what I remember of it was that it was the equivalent of a modern-day soap opera, with a wife who wasn't satisfied with her hubby's 'output' -- and legal maneuvering that looked right out of "The Practice".
Geeze, where do the years go? Oh, yeah -- there.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MEME!!!
Hello, Skep...
I wouldn't really say this board's deserted, just sort of on hiatus. Didn't you get in in time to be grandfathered? Darn.
But -- doesn't the system allow you up to fifteen posts a day, even on the freebie? That's more than most of us posted a day, anyway.
Enjoy your happy hour.

You're not a thief, you're just someone who steals

POSTED: 2:27 a.m. EDT June 28, 2003
UPDATED: 2:55 a.m. EDT June 28, 2003
TAMPA, Fla. -- A man who schemed to steal satellite television signals now has something much bigger than a cable bill to pay - a whopping $180 million restitution order on which he is to make monthly payments on for the next 30,000 years.
Steven R. Frazier will also serve five years in federal prison on a conspiracy charge. Frazier, 28, had plead guilty to a scheme to manufacture and sell devices which would decrypt satellite television signals and allow people to get premium service for free.
"He will have to lead a long and healthy life," quipped Kenton V. Sands, Frazier's defense attorney. Frazier is not actually expected to pay off the entire amount, Sands added, but the monthly $500 payments which were ordered are going to put a bite on his budget once he's out of prison.
"He'll never end up paying a million of that, that's not a realistic figure," said Tampa attorney Richard Escobar, who also represented Frazier.
U.S. District Judge James Moody ordered the restitution Wednesday based on a formula of how much Frazier's intended victims, Direct TV and Echostar, would have lost had his scheme succeeded. The television companies estimate they could have lost $900 million in business.
"I think that's the largest one we received," said Larry Rissler, vice president of Direct TV's Office of Signal Integrity. "We take this very seriously."
Frazier, of Sacramento, Calif., was arrested in Dallas in October by FBI and U.S. Customs agents trying to board a flight to Mexico. The programming device, called the Mikobu III, which he helped design and develop, was bound for about 5,000 customers.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Tony Peluso said Frazier was no stranger to authorities when he was arrested. In 2000, he'd testified before a grand jury regarding satellite piracy and was allowed to return to California.
Instead of mending his ways, Peluso said, Frazier set out to create a better piracy system and soon was regarded among the upper echelon of international satellite pirates.
Frazier was in the middle of trying to hack Direct TV's latest satellite card and "he came within a hair's breath" of doing so, Peluso said.
"He deserves credit for near-genius intellect," Peluso said. Escobar disputes that his client is the masterful pirate the government describes.
Frazier was arrested in October 2002, when Customs agents tracking his operations found computer chips and hacking gear in his luggage after on a flight from Canada.
Frazier has again agreed to cooperate. Peluso said there are 50 open cases stemming from the investigation.
An estimated 3 million people illegally watch satellite television using devices that unscramble satellite TV signals. The industry estimates it looses $4 billion a year in revenue.
Rissler, a retired FBI agent, said what Frazier will pay will hardly scratch the surface of what satellite television companies spend each year trying to protect their signals and track down satellite pirates. Echostar declined to comment on the sentence.
Direct TV employs five former FBI agents, a bevy of engineers and keeps on retainer three law firms in the U.S. and Canada all aimed at fighting piracy, Rissler said. The company uses civil lawsuits against everyone from the pirates to those who buy the illegal devices in hopes of recouping their losses.
Judges are often advised on how much a defendant did, or in Frazier's case could have, cost a company and the restitution awards are based on those estimates. Rissler said the company has a formula which multiplies the value of the loss programing, the number of illegal devices distributed and how long they were in used to come up with a dollar figure.
"He (Frazier) was a significant player because, in my view, he trafficked devices and was involved in developing technology," Rissler said.
Sands said Frazier wasn't shocked by the amount of restitution. It will be up to the judge to decide if Frazier will keep making payments after his three years of probation ends.
"He was prepared for a number like that," Sands said, explaining that law enforcement and the television companies are becoming more aggressive in punishing satellite pirates.
"I think whether it is $900 million or $180 million of $1.5 million it is completely irrelevant to him. Those numbers are so large they are rendered more or less meaningless."
I would prefer this board remain somewhat exclusive, as well.
DEFINITELY A THIEF.
One google of "cable theft" will bring up over two thousand citations. From the first page of them:
Cable television theft is the illegal interception of cable programming services without the express authorization of, or payment to, a cable television system. There are two types of cable theft, passive and active. Passive theft occurs when a consumer receives services due to faulty cable operator procedures. Active theft occurs when someone knowingly and willfully makes an illegal physical connection to the cable system and/or attaches or tampers with equipment to allow the receipt of unauthorized services. Active theft can occur at both a consumer or commercial level. Commercial theft usually happens in an environment where the proprietor receives financial gains from the illegal services (i.e. a bar or restaurant). . . .
Sentences in federal and state theft of service cases have ranged from probation to 16 years in prison. Fines and restitution have ranged from several hundred dollars to $2.7 million. Civil judgments have run as high as $245 million.
NCTA's Office of Cable Signal Theft (OCST) works closely with the FCC, Department of Justice, the F.B.I., U.S. Customs, U.S. Attorneys, state and local prosecutors and law enforcement agencies to investigate and assist in prosecuting criminal violations.
==========================
Cable was never installed at my house.
Then what the fuck did you say when you began this? Cable television may not have been installed, but you clearly said you were hooked up through the cable for net service.
Yup. The prisons are probably filled to the brim with "illegal" cable viewers these days.
No, stupid, but more and more cases are pushed until the thief cracks. Usually the cable company will give you time to "make amends", i.e., pay up for the duration of service you can be presumptively found to have been stealing -- which could come to a tidy sum. You pay it or lose the service AND are taken to Small Claims Court (depending on the amount and local jurisdictional definitions). If it hasn't been long, they'll issue a warning, install a 'trap' on the line, and block anything but your modem signal -- if they continue to supply it all.
However, the industry is getting harder-nosed about it. There have been at least six criminal prosecutions in Kentucky for the offense. So the answer to your question is "yes".
Cable companies don't want the bad publicity, nor do they want the public to know how their system works. As a result, the laws designed to protect these monopolies are rarely enforced.
You're talking through your hat. What "bad publicity"? They WANT the public to know they'll prosecute if they have to -- it's just that most 'passive thieves' (like YOU) are small potatoes and easily disposed of with a warning and a trap. National ad campaigns against the crime are run on local systems all the time, on both broadcast and cable stations. The technology is ALREADY common knowledge -- that's WHY it's such a problem. The industry lost on the order of $12 billion (as of 1996). The laws are "rarely enforced" because the thieves KNOW they are thieves and, once confronted, make amends.
As one who benefits from lax enforcement of state sodomy laws I should have thought you would be able to appreciate this fact.
My, my -- still gotcher panties in a twist over how I whupped yer butt? Move on, boy, move on.
As for that person who told you not to worry about it -- assuming that you weren't lying about that, since now you're claiming "cable was never installed" -- I wonder if you identified yourself at the time of the call? While it's true that they're more interested in snaring "active thieves" than passive ones like you, when an occasion arises that they come across someone like you, they'll definitely let you know they've identified you and give you a chance to come clean.
And yes (Spall), they CAN very easily detect unauthorized connections to the lines by measuring the circuit values from the dropbox. The gradual changeover to digitalized service will make most of this a thing of the past, since it will allow greater specificity in what any one cabledrop carries. It will also allow the central cable office to know exactly what everyone on their system is tuned to at any particular instant.
If you have cable modem service, just check the label on the back of your modem -- there's a number on the back that allows the 'help desk' to track directly to your line in the event you have a problem.
Not a thief? Better check.
I suggest you check with an attorney or a reliable legal resource. What you think applies to magazine subscriptions is NOT the same in regard to cable. If you knowingly receive cable programming service without ordering it, and the company finds out, you are almost certainly liable for any bills from the day the cable was installed -- and quite likely for felony criminal charges, if the total runs above whatever the level used to define 'felony' in your state is. Perhaps you should try calling the cable company with a 'hypothetical question' based on what "a friend" of yours says.
Mom kills lazy son
Jerusalem - A woman stabbed her son to death in a dispute over his refusal to get off the computer and make his bed, police said on Tuesday.
Yelena Avramenko, 49, later admitted to killing her son, Denis, 26, and re-enacted the crime in front of investigators, police said.
"I asked him a number of times to stop playing on the computer and to go and make his bed," the Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot quoted the mother as saying. "After a while I saw him lying on his bed.
"I asked him again to make his bed but he just cursed me. I got angry and went to the kitchen, and in the heat of the moment I took a knife and stabbed him," she said, according to the paper's website.
Police said that at the time of the incident, late on Monday, the mother appeared to have been sober, but by the time police arrived at the scene she was drunk and incoherent.
Both mother and son were unemployed. They arrived in Israel two years ago from the former Soviet Union, police said.
An Israeli court on Tuesday ordered the mother held in custody. - Sapa-AFP

This one's sorta-kinda for Jade -- although I know, personally, DW is a great kid. Just something she can hold in reserve.
Or, just maybe, Meme would like to reference it.
I'm cool with that; I can still ignore him, the way I usually do.
Sent you a email.
QJ
Good luck, Jade. I'll miss you while you're gone.
I'm rambling, aren't I?
Hey, ramble on. Like to stay, but I gotta go feed the cat.
D.
Oh, hell, Meme, you know you don't have to say anything...
It's hell being called upon by "the suits" to be the company's "Madame DeFarge" -- I just hope you get some kind of bonus for doing what the momsers don't have the nerve to do.
Hmmmmm .... Meme was referring to emails ...
I wonder if she meant mine?
Could be; she wasn't referring to mine, because I didn't mail her anything and I'm trying to keep her out of "this."
At long last, Graywolf, have you NO shame?
GRAYWOLF: Just CITE. THE. POST.
That's all you have to do, guy. Why is that so hard for you?
Just cite the post.
--------------------------------
Your so smug because you know why I can't - you deleted all your posts just prior to the decision being handed down.
And YOU need to find someone else to feed you your next duck-and-weave tactic.
Here's a link for those interested (or not):
http://groups.msn.com/AnOpenForum/general.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=174&...
I thought about just copying in the relevant parts, but it's all there within context for all to see.
Now, the reason why I say you should find someone else to act as your 'coach', GW, is that it's obvious that whoever it is has just as convenient a case of amnesia as you. Because if they didn't, they'd have told you that, while I did, indeed, delete ALL my posts from various board threads that I could find that day, I DID NOT delete them from either the joke thread (which was wholly irrelevant to everything going on) OR from the "Here It Is" thread, where you pronounced the warning. That was the ONE thread where I kept posting, because it was there I intended to make my "last stand".
I decided to take my chances there because THAT was thread where you'd pasted the warning, because I knew what was coming. I, even YOU, and everyone else with a lick of honesty and sense knows what's going on when someone posts "You guys are walking on eggs and you want to jump on pogosticks." That was the point at which I deleted ALL my posts from other thread EXCEPT that one.
So, whoever fed you that bushwa about ME deleting "all my posts" is either conveniently forgetful or a liar, and has made you one by proxy.
The other reason you should find better advisors is because if they were better, they'd have warned you how inane you look trying to bring up this issue NOW after strangely forgetting to mention it ever before. I've been after you to JUST CITE THE POST since virtually day one. Why didn't you bring this up before, GW?
Well, everyone KNOWS why now. NOW you've deleted the thread, and thus suppressed the inconvenient proof that everything I've said is true. So all you have left is to run, spin out from the issue, or just dream up any desperate distraction you can. The proof?
Just look at at the "Okay, As Promised...." thread on the Open Forum. Forty-seven posts over a time period of more than a month between you and RO and various interlopers who really contributed nothing. INCREDIBLY long responses that were parodies of RO's own responses. One can only imagine what effort you were willing to put into them because RightOn is an easy mark, wasn't he? You blathered and dithered with him for weeks, because RightOn is a schizophrenic whom you knew was easy pickings.
But look at the "My Challenge to Graywolf" thread. Total responses: 14. Some of them involved my chastising RO for mucking about in a thread I'd specifically asked other people to stay out of. You made only 3 responses and then it was, "Oh, I've talked about all this before!" and RAN AWAY.
This was after I, first, demonstrated your technically inept "management" by showing how threads could be copied into other threads (and thus moved) using an example that, at that time, was FROM YOUR OWN BOARD. I should have know better to allow you an out, because -- instead of simply responding by CITING THE POST -- you merely focussed on the technical issue and then ducked the challenge. When I challenged you AGAIN, you AGAIN tried to duck it by trying to introduce RO as an issue. I challenged you AGAIN, and that was all you had the stomach for, and you ran away -- even though the "Here It Is" thread was still there. I only wish I HAD had the presence of mind to copy it over to RO's forum, but who could have guessed you'd have been QUITE so underhanded to delete it entirely from the board?
As I said, ask the others involved for verification.
Verification of secret process that it's only NOW convenient for you to reveal. Besides, it means NOTHING, GW. It doesn't matter that you could get your two dogs-bodies to go along with you. The only thing that matters is that YOU CANNOT CITE A POST -- because there WAS no post. Prove me wrong, if not.
You shame yourself all over again by trying to drag Meme into it, who is surely the ONE person EVERYONE can agree was blameless in this.
Why do I bring it up? Did you miss the fact that the ABC PI board has been purged and people were beginning to slink back to yours? I bring it up because there's another 'alternate' board now, and I don't intend to let you or Cap off the hook for your underhandedness.
Now you can put all this behind you but just admitting that what you did was personally motivated and wrong. I won't even insist you say you're sorry -- that would never happend, and even if it did, you'd be insincere.
Is that reference to the 6 months being up supposed to be another example of your style of spinelessly saying I can rejoin? Thanks, but only a fool who'd think that board is fairly run would be thoughtless enough to re-enter a forum where people like you can control the deletion of messages and/or threads.
Now -- answer my simple challenge: cite the post, or admit you were wrong. No need to get shrill here, and it will serve you nothing to have Purp act as your shill. Just cite the post, or admit you were wrong. The fact that you deleted the relevant thread long before it's time is plenty of evidence for those with the eyes to see. Now, be a man, GW, and admit it. Or just cite the post.
GRAYWOLF: Just CITE. THE. POST.
That's all you have to do, guy. Why is that so hard for you?
Just cite the post.
Tell it to the people who took the low road, Sassy.
Stay tuned, Sassy ...since GW is too chicken to reply.
And he knows why -- and so do any of YOU, if you'll just be honest. He won't respond because he knows he honestly can't, because there was no post for him to cite. Instead, craven once again as he was on RightOn's board, he snivels, "Well, I'm just so above all this," and runs along.
His and cap's banning was a personal vendetta cloaked in veneer of 'management', and they both know it, which was why the entire thread was deleted -- to cover their asses. That other moral wimps like Neuro (who tried, as Cap & GW's stalking horse, to repeatedly provoke me in the remainder of the thread and failed) and DocBob collaborated with them does not excuse them.
This can all be ended very simply by the parties involved if they just display the honesty and moral courage to admit they were wrong and apologize. Otherwise -- tune in tomorrow and wherever else I find it appropriate to confront hypocrisy.
Otherwise -- all they have to do to end it is CITE. THE. POST.
Coco, just to set the record TRULY straight...
And to confront Graywolf (and to a lesser extent Capamo and others who had a hand in the whole disgusting matter) on his continuing moral lapse, here's my response to his self-serving and dishonorable distortion of the truth. This may take a while, since in typical style, GW's "response" is so rife with distortions and convenient lapses that setting things straight may take a while.
However, just to get things off, try reading down to message eight in this thread from the board RightOn set up in the wake of the purge:
http://groups.msn.com/AnOpenForum/general.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=174&...
At that point, you will see that Graywolf ran from my challenge, made to him over and over and over, to CITE THE POST on which the invocation of the ban was based. He could not do it, because there WAS no such post, so he posted a "I'm taking my marbles and going home" kind of message and then RAN.
Or just scroll down to message 27 at this spot on GW's OWN board:
http://groups.msn.com/PIAlternative/general.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=11965...
There you will see where my friend Mac posted her OWN challenge to GW -- and you will see he could not make an honest and substantive response even there.
I want to also point out that William's reference to what "RightOn and Dennis" posted BEFORE the warning he mentions is IRRELEVANT, and typical of the bob-and-weave, shuck-and-jive style he employs to attempt to drag in irrelevant matters and then divert the conversation onto them.
Even GW and Capamo cannot honestly deny that the banning was based on anything BEFORE the warning was issued, but on what they try to maintain was said AFTERWARD. It took quite a few days to get her to slip up, but on the ABC PI board, even Capamo finally admitted that their actions were taken based on what they EXPECTED to happen, and NOT on what really happened.
This was because the so-called "warning" that was issued -- which GW NOW wants to state was supposedly drafted by "DocBob", even though he issued it under his OWN name, in itself a gutless thing to do -- was deliberately phrased so as to be as provocative as possible. You can get a sense of the nature of this 'warning' by reading Mac's post cited earlier. When I refused to be baited, but gave their contemptible 'warning' the response it deserved WITHOUT VIOLATING ANY OF THE RULES OF THE BOARD, they nonetheless cravenly seized upon my response as a pretext to exercise their personal resentments against me, and threw RO in as a partial cover for their spineless abuse of privilege.
So I am saying for the record, Coco: GW's assertion that I went "on an ever escalating barrage of nasty messages and insults aimed at the board" is a damnable, shameful LIE which William lacked, and CONTINUES TO LACK, the honor, honesty, and moral courage to admit. In point of fact, I made only ONE post of any length in response to the warning, and that was the one to which I've already referred, and that certainly can't be typified by any truly fair-minded person as a "barrage".
The evidence is his repeated failure to simply CITE THE POST on which the ban was based, said post having to come AFTER the warning was issued to make it legitimate. That's all he had to do, Coco: just CITE THE POST. But he won't, and he can't, because he knows THERE WAS NO SUCH POST.
GW whines about being put in a "no win position", but unfortunately for him that's the natural response of a loser who isn't above bending the rules for his own personal vendetta.
His description of the "process" by which the banning took place is as self-serving as it is incomplete. If you review what he's said, you'll soon realize that what he's describing is generally referred to in the history of western civilization as a "star chamber" proceeding, where the "defendant" is charged, tried in absentia, judged, convicted and sentenced without the opportunity to defend himself, or to hear the 'evidence' being used against him. It's main purpose is to provide the participants a fig-leaf of morality to conceal the nakedness of their rapaciousness. GW epitomizes this by trying to lay claim NOW to saying things in the chamber which he claimed would be private, but yet we see now he's more than willing to edit to serve his own ends.
It is notable to point out that GW at first purported the ban as unanimous decision, in his haste to get the dirty work over with; but Meme's commanding sense of honor forced him to admit to the "mistake" and make him take it back. How any honest person could make such a "mistake" is for HIM to explain -- if he can.
My friend Mac even pointed out to him in the post cited previously (to which GW has yet to respond) that wiser heads would realize that a management board's slow and measured response was an advantage, but only to people who value thoughtful consideration, and not to those with a prettified lynch-mob mentality. It was only a short time after that -- September 12, to be exact -- that GW and Cap instituted their "new policy" that assured them the ability to respond to any subsequent challenges post haste. It was certainly not a month.
Naturally, now GW doesn't "want to have this fight again", because he knows he can't win it -- everything I've said is TRUE, and he knows it. Naturally, he wants to "leave at it this", since by doing so, he attempts to portray himself as somehow more "high-minded", when his sins of both commission and omisson give the lie to that. The clearest evidence of this is that GW HAS PURGED THE RELEVANT THREADS FROM HIS BOARD. You can scroll back to the "previous 50" messages and see that residual posts from as far back as May and June are still there, but the threads involving the banning have been purged. There's a simple reason for that: he knows that if he left it, the evidence would be plain to ANYONE that everything I've stated is TRUE. In this case, the absence of the "evidence" that should be present is evidence of his self-awareness of his shameful behavior in itself.
What's even MORE revelatory -- although of course he can't see it -- is that on the ABC Iraq board he has the audacity to demand other posters provide "evidence" against none other than Saddam Hussein, but consistently fails/refuses to do so in the case of his own personal vengefulness!
If GW wants me to shut up -- indeed, if any of you want me to shut up -- there's a simply way to do it. Just CITE the POST I made after the warning was issued which violated the board rules. That's all.
Otherwise, GW and Cap will find themselves confronted for their perfidy and cowardice wherever and whenever I think it appropriate. They can avoid it by one of two simple means: just CITE the POST. The other I will leave to them to figure out.
And so, Coco, THAT'S setting the record TRULY straight.
Welcome, Coco, and long-time, no see!
Email me as soon as possible. Our mutual friend has my address.
To keep Cap honest (which could probably rank as a full-time job) the PI Alt board has been moribund for months; the best thing that's happened to it recently is that certain parties barraged the ABC PI board with a torrent of pure crap unrelated to anything in particular and finally managed to bring it down. Now they're gradually showing up on other ABC boards and testing the waters there for much the same sort of behavior.
Six months ago, Cap and Graywolf mounted a coup d'etat against the "democratic" board they'd set up, purging the "balanced" management board after it failed to immediately rubberstamp the banning of myself and "RightOn the Execrable". It took a steady campaign of confronting them on the ABC boards to get Cap to slip up and admit they had banned me (RightOn being a separate issue) not for anything I had done, but for what they were afraid I "would" do, which they weren't morally equipped to deal with.
You should know that before you post there. Even since the ABC board went down, there hasn't been all that much additional activity at PI Alt -- it gradually degenerated into a forum where Cap, Graywolf, and a few other self-described "conservatives" go to flatter one another and post meaningless 'disputes' among themselves. When you email me with a new address, I'll explain why.
Yes. Yes, we ARE!!!
Skep & Mom,
I private-messaged Jade earlier today. I'm sure she'll see it momentarity. QJ
HA-HA!
Looks like almost everyone got banned from ABC 'ceptin' me and maybe cap. I think the key may have been that I learned long ago to simply IGNORE the sUcker.
Interesting (and disappointing, but not entirely surprising) that many of you are hurrying to log-in (or re-log) with PI Alt, especially since Meme has opened the new board.
The continuing squalid behavior of GW and Cap notwithstanding...
=======
First, I have not been banned at ABC - still posting there.
Good for you -- but then, you haven't been posting there much anyway, so you didn't have much opportunity, or inducement, to step into the "big muddy" and get waist (waste?) deep in it.
Second, I post sporadically at PIAlt, sorry you are disappointed. But, if you disdain that board so much, why bother lurking to see who posts there in the first place ??
Well, for one thing, Sassy, when I see someone bleating about "freedom of speech" and "political correctness", I'll know immediately who needs to have their hypocrisy pointed out to them; GW and Cap being among the first and foremost at all times.
Case in point: I came upon a spot where GW says he's removed the ban from RightOn, but 'refuses to invite him'. A typically smarmy, simpering kind of thing to do and say, since to remove a ban WITHOUT letting the victim of the ban know it is morally tantamount to just continuing the ban, but trying to escape the moral consequences of being a hypocrite about it.
As Nelson Muntz sez:
HA-HA!

Skep, Thanks for dropping by.
I don't think the right-wingers had as much to do with it as the current virus/worm 'thingy'. I'm hoping things will get back to normal by tomorrow. Guess I'll have to post a 'catch-up' post on birthdays & history then.
Really glad to see you made it here.
QJ
Anybody come by here?
Possibly due to "da worm" attack, I can't access go.com mail to login to the PI board, and now I get the "server down" panel on the board anyway. I'm just wondering if any denizens are coming by here. Can't say much -- got a problem with my hands at the time. Good luck to the rest of you.
Sllloooooowwwlly I turn...

Hillary and Bill
Hillary Clinton goes to her doctor for a physical, only to find out that she's pregnant. She's furious. Here she's in the middle of her first term as Senator of New York and this has happened to her.
She calls home, gets Bill on the phone and immediately starts screaming, "How could you have let this happen? With all that's going on right now, you go and get me pregnant! How could you? I can't believe this! I just found out I'm five weeks pregnant and it is all your fault! Your fault! Well, what have you got to say?"
There's nothing but dead silence on the phone.
She screams again, "Did you hear me?"
Finally she hears Bill's very, very quiet voice. In a barely audible whisper, he says, "Who is this?"
The Farmer
A farmer had five female pigs and, as times were tough, he decided to take them to the county fair and sell them. While at the fair, he met another farmer who owned five male pigs.
After talking a bit, they decided to mate the pigs and split everything 50/50. The farmers lived sixty miles apart, so they agreed to each drive thirty miles and find a field in which to mate their pigs.
The first morning, the farmer with the female pigs got up at 5 a.m., loaded the pigs into the family station wagon, which was the only vehicle they had, and drove the thirty miles.
While the pigs were mating, he asked the other farmer, "How will I know if they get pregnant?"
The other farmer replied, "If they're grazing in the grass in the morning, they're pregnant. If they're wallowing in the mud, they're not."
The next morning they were wallowing in the mud, so the first farmer hosed them off, loaded them back into the family station wagon and proceeded to try again.
The following morning, mud again! This continued all week until the farmer was so exhausted he couldn't get out of bed. He called to his wife, "Honey, please look out the window and tell me if the pigs are in the mud or in the field."
"Neither," yelled his wife. "They're in the station wagon and one of them is honking the horn."
St. Peter and the Truckers
Three truckers die and are met by St. Peter at the Pearly Gates. St. Peter announces that before he can let them in he must ask each of them three questions.
He asks the first question, "Have you ever been caught speeding?"
The first trucker says, "No sir, not ever." The second trucker says, "Yes, but only once and I don't think I was speeding." The third trucker says, "Oh yes, Sir, many times."
Then St Peter asks the 2nd question. "Have you ever told a lie?"
The first trucker says, "No Sir." The second trucker says, "Yes, but just a few white lies." The third trucker says, "Yes, I admit I've told some whoppers in my time."
Then St Peter asks the 3rd question, "Have you ever cheated on your wife?"
The first trucker says, "No way." The second trucker says, "Flirted a few times, but no Sir." The third trucker says, "Wellll, there was this girl down in Kentucky. She could suck a golf ball through a garden hose!"
Then he asked St. Peter if he was going to hell.
"No way!" says St. Peter, "Those two liars are. You and I are going to Kentucky!"
Nurse Nancy
Two doctors were in a hospital hallway one day complaining about Nurse Nancy.
"She's incredibly mixed up," said one doctor. "She does everything absolutely backwards. Just last week I told her to give a patient 2 milligrams of morphine every 10 hours, but instead she gave him 10 milligrams every 2 hours! She damned near killed him!"
The second doctor said, "That's nothing. Earlier this week, I told her to give a patient an enema every 24 hours, but instead she tried to give him 24 enemas in one hour! The guy damn near exploded!"
Suddenly, they hear this bloodcurdling scream from down the hall. "Oh my God!" exclaimed the first doctor. "I just realized I told Nurse Nancy to prick Mr. Smith's boil!"
The Golfers
Three guys were playing golf, and not having a very good day of it.
The first one says, "Man, when we're finished I'm gonna pound down a six-pack."
The second says, "Man, I'm starved. I'm gonna scarf down six Big Macs."
The third one, also frustrated with their game looked over and said; "Man, when I get home, I'm gonna tear off my wife's panties!"
The first one looked up and asked, "Man, are you really that horny?"
"No!" he cried, "They're killing me!"
The Newlyweds
On the night of their honeymoon, a newlywed couple had an unfortunate accident, resulting in the amputation of the groom's left foot. Unable to control her grief, the bride called her mother from the hospital.
"Mother", she sobbed, "My husband has only one foot!"
The mother, trying to console her daughter said, "That's alright dear, your father has only six inches."
The Blow Job
A young man walks up and sits down at the bar.
"What can I get you?" the bartender inquires.
"I want 6 shots of Jagermeister," replied the young man.
"6 shots? Are you celebrating something?" said the bartender.
"Yeah, my first blowjob."
"Well, in that case, let me give you a 7th on the house!"
"No offence, sir. But if 6 shots won't get rid of the taste, nothing will."
