Thanks c20. I've found that every time I get a bit cocky about my wife's chances of coming home, something comes along and smacks me upside the head and back to reality. Whether it is more pneumonia, or me standing in the corner of the room watching 2 nurses, a respiratory therapist and a doctor scrambling trying to figure out why her o2 sats are dropping, etc. She is in such a fragile state right now things can still go wrong. So now all I will say is that I am hopefull she makes it back home. Period.
Yep, but this is a different doctor, but I'm quite sure none of them here know about our little gem. Im hoping her 2 doses will help her avoid that extra misery. Lord knows she's endured plenty already.
Yes yes
I wonder if Leronlimab , given early in the disease will help prevent long hauler syndrome.
Doctor here just depressed the crap outta me by listing a litany of problems my wife could face in the next 6 month's or so.
I don't see any new news. What's happening here?
Hi c20, thanks for asking. Well she was doing quite well, she had 2 days in a row where she breathed on her own for 9 consecutive hours. Next day she could only tolerate 3 hours, so they decided to wean her in 2-3 hour stretches multiple times a day, which was going well. Then she got pneumonia again. Doc was right on it though and got her back on antibiotics and methyl prednisone. Bottom line is she had a 2-3 day setback so far but her vent settings are back to where they were pre pneumonia, so I'm hoping she can get back to vent weaning soon. Meanwhile she is finally waking up, responding to commands, etc. She's not made it to total coherency yet but she's getting there slowly. And with the trach I dont have to worry about getting any backtalk. I know, that's a bad joke. Obviously I'm dying to hear her voice and when the trach tube eventually comes out we will celebrate a huge victory.
Glad to hear your friend is improving!
To be fair, there's plenty of pre revenue companies that have well paid execs. And unprofitable companies as well.
My my my, that is a nice looooong and green candle today.
GREAT JOB c20 !!!! I knew you could do it. Sometimes you gotta raise a stink. Getting doctors to try unapproved drugs, even in your friends dire circumstances, is not easy !! Nice work. No matter what happens you can hold your head high, look yourself in the mirror and know you gave it your best shot. We should all have friends as dedicated as you. Much of your friends fate is in God's hands now, but hopefully the Leronlimab will help him.
I know you don't like my CYDY, but my 55 cent shares are 6 bucks and heading to 15 in my opinion.
I told you this thing was wanting to creep back up. I know i should have really loaded up, but i did add some anyway.
Its too bad Hopeless the ace chart technician has not been around. Im sure he would point out the breakout today from that descending triangle. Or would he?
Keep pushing c20. Our prayers go to your friend and his poor wife. I know the position she is in and I wouldn't wish it on anybody.
Yes c20, try and get to the administrator or chief medical officer. Also the head of their infectious disease dept.
Thank you so much hook.
Bballs and wealth, i do appreciate the kind words, and yes, I have thought about the long hauler situation.
Her vent has been on cpap mode (minimal assistance) for 5 1/2 hrs now and they're leaving it that way for a few more hours as long as her breathing and o2 sats are good. She'll be back on normal vent for the night, but it's good progress for her.
When my wife needed it, it was a day or two after cd12 was filled. I emailed Dr. Pourhassan, who asked Dr. Kelly to call me and we talked, and he said since the trial was filled maybe the FDA would go for it. So we all for to working on it.
As I understand it, the FDA had shut down EIND's for Leronlimab in order to fill up the trial quicker.
Im skeptical of the story as well. The cd12 trial was not full as of the dates he mentioned. I don't see how he could have gotten any LL.
I was only able to access it for my wife because the trial filled literally a day or so before I started trying to get it.
I Still say it looks like it wants to creep back up. Probably should have added more (I did add some) during that pullback.
Im pretty sure none of them were expected to survive, but I don't know the details of their condition.
Thank you Learning. I'm hesitant to get too cocky about my wife's apparent recovery because she is far from out of the woods at this point. But she has made great strides towards getting weaned off the vent in the last two days, 2 hrs on Wed and 4 hours yesterday breathing with minimal assistance. Those were days 6 and 7 since first LL dose. A doctor I spoke with that used Leronlimab early in the pandemic mentioned day 7 is when they were seeing improvements in the patients. So yes, it is true that my wife's lungs were improving before the Leronlimab even arrived, based on her vent settings. But now she is making improvements that many people are not. The respiratory therapist told me yesterday, flat out, that they are not having much luck getting many covid patients weaned off the vents. Secondly, I'm seeing how happy the wonderful nurses and staff are when they see how well my wife is doing. The sad truth is they've lost a lot of patients, and they appear to be quite thrilled that they are able to care for someone who may actually make it home. Again, she is not in the clear and this could still blow up in our faces and devastate me. But she is headed in the right direction. Prayers for her are still much appreciated.
Thanks CI
Thank you so much Sally
Thank you money, maximum, grip and everybody else who has prayed and provided support. They're just switching the vent back to normal mode, so she did make their goal of 4 hours today breathing pretty much on her own. Nicely done I say, the girls got some fight in her for sure.
The rapid test I took was a mouth swab and the regular test was that nasal swab.
Hmmm. I'm guessing that's not the rapid test cause they have those within an hour i think
I had the instant test and regular test done same day. Instant was false negative.
I do Rock, I do. Every day!
Im liking the sound of that ER
Leronlimab was just hand delivered and dosed. I told the nurse all about it and she was quite pumped up, hoping to be a part of history.
Wife is breathing with minimal vent assistance again, they are shooting for 4 hours today. O2 sats are 2-3 pts better than yesterday, she's hitting 98-100 now.
Mj, remember this. If they need supplemental oxygen, it's too late to get the monoclonals from regeneron or Lilly. That's why you have to be proactive with the o2 sats. If you miss that window of opportunity they can quickly get behind the 8 ball. If they drop below 95 id be on the horn with the doctor before it's too late. If they get into the upper 80's they will probably wanna give them oxy.
My 2 cents mj. Make sure they have access to pulse oximeters and have them keep an eye on their o2 sats.
If they start dropping do not drag your feet. Call the doctor!!
Thanks c20. Don't give up on your friend. If he stabilized on the vent, and it sounds like he has, and is now making small strides, there is hope for him. Hopefully he gets the LL soon. Then it's a waiting game. But do not give up.
Don't bet the house on this but I think the vasopressors might be the issue. I recall my wife's doc telling me the FDA would not have granted the EIND if she was on vasopressors.
This news on Dr. Agresti's paper is huge people!
I will be with my wife today, as I am every day, but today is special. Dose number two of our Leronlimab will be administered today!!
And thanks again to all those keeping up with her illness.
And I cannot believe anybody is selling or shorting this stock in the 5 dollar area with potential blockbuster news to drop at any time. Are these folks insane?
Misiu, if this progress keeps up i will start making some claims myself.
And thank you!
Tomorrow KC
