Not relevant, but still an interesting article.

I'm also intrigued with this statement:
" And we think that the concept of homeostasis might be not limited through a effect in the brain or in the central nervous system of ANAVEX 2-73 or blarcamesine. But it might also trickled down into the entire body’s homeostasis beneficial system..."

Investorhub?
I'd love to ask Dr. Missling how he envisions the Alzheimer's scene 10 years from now.

Or we could all just take a pill.

But what about the dots that have fallen by the wayside?
One that comes to mind is the hiring of the ex-FDA guy(Faridan?).
All we got for Christmas was a a small adults only Rett trial.
Had to go across the pond for everything else.
Then there's the spaced small share purchases made by Dr. Missling a while back.
The Biogen collaboration also went from the forefront to the discard pile.
I personally believe the publication will be a non-event in regard to moving the share price.
Nobel winners are just people like you and I.
Please don't misunderstand me . I am and have been long AVXL.
I just think Anavex is a tiny biotech company going up against a Goliath of a problem and the smart money rightfully expects failure.
I don't claim to be smart, just handsome and somewhat charming.
Having said all this, I always enjoy your posts because it's human nature to love a good story.
Regards,
BB
Do you know how many sites the trial is being run at?
Maybe The Alfred hospital only needed one more.
BB
" suggest safety is a non issue"
Great point.
We thought the safety data looked very encouraging, but for a drug that has crossed the blood/brain barrier in some of the most fragile people on earth I think astounding might be more appropriate.

Gut bacteria certainly seems to be a hot topic these days.

Seen so many events come and go with little share price movement.
Might this one be different?

[ The AAIC 2019 is the largest world wide meeting regarding Alzheimer's research. Why is there so little discussion and interest? ]
Because the little boy cried "wolf" one too many times?

Could not agree more.
"The difference between a good day and a bad day is solely my attitude" is my guiding principal.
In the past I've had bad things occur to me that rolled off me like water off a duck's back and I've had trivial things occur that ate at me like a cancer.
In hindsight, it's obvious to me it was all about attitude.
Win or lose, I'm glad I invested in Anavex. It's been an interesting ride in an otherwise uneventful life.
BB
I've a couple more.
1) Missling is simply weaponizing Anavex.
Shareholders rights, preferreds and multiple ways to access captial via the equity markets.I'd be pleased if Anavex also obtained a line of credit.
2) Missling knows additional trials will probably be needed and an offering or placement might be more advantageous and/or might be less limiting.
In other words, just dong his job.
Most small businesses fail due to insufficient capital because they underestimate the time to profitability.
One study showed many fail on the cusp of profitability.
I'm pleased that thus far Anavex doesn't seem to fall under that category.

Not smart enough to know if this article is pertinent.

I wish I knew if the rest of the world was as picky as I am about the words/phrases they use.
I would never use "looking forward" instead of good luck, go get 'em, Godspeed, we're pulling for you, our hearts are with you...
If I said “Looking forward to good things for our friends down under!” I'd feel I was putting my reputation on the line.
BB
Forgot that we believe unrelated would be incorrect.
BB
Why would you be optimistic?
Just because Patients dosed with A2-73 are now on extensions of trials for 2 unrelated diseases?
BB
Doesn't the comma after the word patient imply it was the first patient?
BB
It was Bourbon and he wanted to see it from the PDD study.
I'm sure he's still pleased.
BB
Because of a total lack of negative items(as Falconer often points out) on my mental pro/con list I like to think 99%.
But because of the 99% failure rate of Alzheimer's drug trials the number is also a bit of a private joke with me.
BB
I believe they have shown positive results in a controlled trial as evidenced by the extensions, large supply of drug manufactured, additional Aussie trials/sites ...
But of course I'm speculating.
BB
Lowish. How come?
BB
Percentagewise, what do you think the chances are of A2-73 being a marketable drug?
BB
Agreed.
Warren Buffet/Charlie Munger have also weighed in on the subject.
They say you only get a few fat pitches in life and going small will not move the needle.
I believe Buffet also said "when it's raining gold grab a bucket not a thimble".
BB
I believe that would convince me this is a lock.
BB
I'm also of the mind the PDD trial is IT.
Short, well designed, double blind, sufficient size, sufficiently lucrative market, good partner bait...
BB
Will our trial participants be able to monitor their own sleep?
https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/jun/17/why-sleeptrackers-could-lead-to-the-rise-of-insomnia-and-orthosomnia
BB
[ Few see Anavex as she is. A technology Company focused on balancing cellular processes to aid the body to heal itself.]
That brings up a question I've had for the longest time.
If A2-73 is successful, is it likely our entire pipeline will likely succeed?
And if the answer is yes, will the biotech world go find the tonic for everything else(diabetes, certain blindness, obesity, Crohn's disease, ect.) or does only Anavex have the recipe/treasure map?
I'm trying to imagine how this all might play out.
BB
Sorry, Charlie,
Unlikely.
All of this would also be in direct conflict with Dr. Missling's oft repeated statement, "if we fail we want to do so quickly".
BB
I agree with Lima that there is an inference.
BB
I've owned a fair number of Biotechs in my 35 years of investing(and I have the scars to prove it).
At this point in time Anavex more closely resembles those that have been successful than the scar makers.
BB
Considering the time it took to dose first patient, might the summer of '20 end date be now considered conservative?
BB
Do you think Aussie Rett approval would be lucrative enough to stop dilution dead in it's tracks?
BB
My mother-in-law and brother-in-law were prescribed lithium decades ago.
To say it was life changing would be a gross understatement.
I'm sorry your experiences have been so poor and I agree that toxicity is rampant, but all or nothing is a self-limiting thought process.
