After holding onto this pig for about the last 5 or 6 years, averaging down the whole time, I threw in the towel at $17 on the runup. I am down 95% on my total investment.
I have defended the technology to all critics, and still believe in it, BUT, its time for the SEC to investigate the actions of Hayward and other primary stockholders.
I believe Hayward is using the corporation to advance his agenda of running a scientific research organization, to the detriment of the corporation and stockholder's interests. and ignoring his fiduciary responsibilities to the stockholders.
I believe Hayward should be in jail.
glta, Hyrdflyr
I'm replying to my own question here. I Read all of the proxy statements and announcements as well as the " compensation" page where it calls for the compensation to the CEO ( Hayward) to be "aligned to the shareholder interests".
On that basis Hayward should make no more than $37,500 annually until the share price gets back up to the approximate $3.63 that is MY sorry breakeven point on 13,750 shares.
What good is a $3 million dollar quarter when their expanding compensation and overhead consumes all of the gross income?
( And why are they paying their auditor $29,000 a year for "tax strategy" when they don't make any profits?)
Hayward need to be compensated for profitability and increased stock values, nothing else. If he can't do it then hire someone who can and make Hayward the " Scientific Advisor" where he can''t screw things up too much. He sure can't close a deal.
Why don't we start up a stockholder petition to tie compensation to the stock prices? We need to do this together.
And YES I'm Pissed.
I have almost 14,000 shares. How should I vote? Can we band together to force some change?I'm pissed too. Maybe someone can PM me with a strategy?

Looks like we just became a cannabis stock for real.
Proven technology and effective marketing are two different things. Hayward isnn't closing the deals like he should. I had hopes for Migliani.
Somebody is buying it for the proven Technology and others are following along.
He spews BS because he's a shorter trying the old game of trying to drive down the stock. Just another SOL, or maybe SOL under another name.
I've said for 5 years that the technology and patents held will prevail for this stock, glta.
Some traders) are trying to sell shares short while volume is low and they can have a greater impact and drive the stock down. Hardly anyone is selling. Most are, like most of us, waiting for news. My own thoughts are that everything APDN has been working toward for years now, is going to start paying off and gain momentum over the next year. In the end, the 50 plus patents and timeliness of the technology will win out.

No doubt in my mind that somebody or more likely sombodies-in cahoots know something we don't. I'm staying long. Thanks Rodey for your never ending optimism. You've made it easier for for me to own this volatile stock. I am convinced the technology will prevail in the end and million share buys confirm to me my position.
Looks like the shorters are piling on.....I hope we get more news soonest and they all lose their shirts on APDN..,
Looks like the shorters are piling on.....I hope we get more news soonest and they all lose their shirts on APDN..,
In light of today's news, who would sell their stock at this point. It amazes me.
I hope he takes Migliani. Dr Hayward is not the most persuasive speaker I've ever heard. Brilliant mind but short on charisma.
McSharky, I've been a trader, years ago though. Gave it up during the 2008 meltdown when none of it was making sense anymore. Been an investor with APDN since the 25 cent days, sold on the technology and averaging down as I could. Still kicking myself that I couldn't pick up more when we went down to a buck here awhile ago. At this point am aware of all the opportunities slowly reaching fruition and pretty much consider success a done deal. Just a matter of how much longer it will take. I'm not getting any younger. I've stated in the past that I think that DNA marking will be as common as barcodes sooner or later and might be most effective as a combined technology.
Hanging tough as long as it takes.

Another chance to buy coming up in that case.

Some naive beginner probably put in a market sell thinking he would sell at $2.56 and then the market maker specialist took advantage of him. Buy and sell with limit orders
If they had a major contract in hand they could borrow the capital needed to ramp up for the additional work instead of socking the shareholders with more dilution.......
Why would anyone be selling into this volume at this price? Makes me wonder if anything I have learned about the market is real or is it all just smoke and mirrors and B.S. manipulation?
Looking good overall Sharkey.
Please continue your train of thought on number 7?
On another subject, I am heartened by a sense that this is all building up in many directions overall. Bodes well for our collective futures.
GLTALs
Or, somebody knows something that we do not.......
McSharkey, I think it's time for all of us who hold long term positions to call in and comment with our grievances along the lines of your posted comments, notably:
Deteriorating share values, due to inadequate news and reasonable projections of company progress; share dilution, bonus awards of shares and pay raises without corresponding profitability. Also, apparently ill-chosen long term credit lines to customers, effecting accounting reporting and negatively effecting short term profitability goals.
Board of directors weighted towards academics vs proven corporate value building sales expertise.
Bob Migliani for CEO, let Dr Hayward remain Chairman of the Board and concentrate on Scientific advances and Technical aspects of the product applications.
Feel free to add more anyone: I think it's a good time to respectfully get in their faces, Think "Town Halls".
That said, I do think it's a good thing that you were approached for your views.........
GLTAL and damn the shorters. Technology will prevail in the end.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth- old broke cowboy saying. ( I wasn't always a hired flyer)
I'll take all the news we can get.
Nice analysis Rodekroet. Reasonable, studied, and believable to this long.
On another note, I would like to see how much of a force we could become to effect some change with the Doctor and the Board. Can we pool our vote proxies to send Houtheman or McSharkey ( or another volunteer) to meet with them to encourage them to step up the almost negligible information flow from the Company?
No news is not good news in this market. They have to be feeling some pain internally as those employees with stock options or holding stocks watch the decline in price, especially those on the advisory board who apparently are paid only in stock awards.
I know this has been suggested in the past but didn't know how the idea was resolved. Seems like if only one of the big institutional holders got involved, together, we might make an impact. Squeaky wheels do get greased.
GLTAL screw the bashers.
Speed of light is short the stock and persistently trying to plant seeds of doubt in the more gullible retail investors, thereby driving the price down. He's not long and not putting out public service messages out of the goodness of his heart ( if he has one)
Sharkey, My read on the $5 million is that break even is occurring and that was the amount needed before profitability is realized from completed business. You can be profitable on paper but until the cash flow from completed business kicks in it won't pay the bills. Zacks was predicting profitability by 2017 and with the boost from cotton revenue increases and the DLA, my guess is that they are right there.

I'm a buyer today. APDN on sale awaiting news. Opportunity knocking.
Patience brothers.
When are earnings due out next? Has there been a date set? In my mind it is sure to be a big increase over the prior year. Granted, with all the new high priced help pushing the product line now, the profits will not be forthcoming yet but the gross sales should be substantially higher year over year even with the cotton juice oversupply carry over.
GLTAL
I don't see these "cotton test competitors" as competitors for ADNAS for the simple reason that they are analyzing the DNA of the cotton itself to determine it's identification, where as ADNAS is marking the product at the source with a proprietary taggant that is virtually indestructible, easily identifiable with a scanner, and can be read to determine much more than the species itself, such as place grown, grower, Gin processor etc.
Some of these "identifiers" have elsewhere admitted that their ability to identify the species of cotton is compromised by the processes of bleaching, dying, etc to prepare the raw cotton for weaving and milling.
Aren't we all?
A little ink goes a long way...why is there not a per item charge for quantities marked? That makes the cost predictable and proportionate.
Reading on down and following the links: GNC is already adopting DNA marking as part of the settlement deal with the NY Attorney General.....

It's happening! And about time too! I think we're in for a big bump here soon.
Under Federal procurement rules they could also use it all up in the first year as they discover new or upgraded applications for the marking. Having the contract in place makes it much easier to utilize the technology without going out for a re-bid each time they exceed the original anticipated need.
McSharkey
I think its all coming down soon. I look for volume to increase and a fair bounce with news. Somebody knows something we don't. I was surprised to see the price stay up the other day with essentially no volume. That tells me the technician is in on the game.
GLTAL Hyrdflyr
SA is still running the Pumperstopper article. Clearly they need legal action for aiding and abetting market manipulation.
By the way Mike, you should copy Senator Elizabeth Warren's staff with the SEC complaints. She grills them regularly concerning their failures to regulate.

Opportunity knocked.
Market sentiment also. Everything is down pretty much across the board. Can't buck the tide.
Of course it didn't help to see another law firm "investigating" on behalf of us longs. Leeches!

Bought in the other day. Hope today starts the reversal! From all the research I can find, this stock is way oversold and overdue to jump. GLTAL
Other publishers such as newspapers and magazines do not allow anonymous articles to be printed for just this very reason and because they know that if they do allow it they are a party to the libel.
The deep pocket is the publisher of the article, not necessarily the author. Responsible publishers (and smart ones) don't print anonymous articles unless they have lots of liability insurance and that's hard to get.
I had just scraped up some retirement savings and picked up another 500 shares when the bottom dropped out.
I would participate in a class action against Seeking Alpha if all us longs jump in. Irresponsible journalism is not that hard to prove and damages are a given.
