1. Trying to time the market. "People that think they can predict the short-term movement of the stock market — or listen to other people who talk about (timing the market) — they are making a big mistake," says Buffett.
I tried to time Zynga, and did well trading when it would bounce around from $2.50 to $3.00 but now I have no idea what to expect. They are one good story away from never looking back. I thought selling at $4.05 I could get back in shortly after for around $4.20 but it shot right up over $4.40 in only a couple days. I am long and at this point I bought shares and am not touching them for 2 1/2 years. There are some big things coming and I love following it and being able to say I believed in the company when many others didn't. I talked my dad into buying and he wanted to sell and I told him to trust me and Il I've being able to hold that over his head.
Mobile gaming is where you want to be. I want to see Zynga grow in online gambling but the legalization is going slower than anticipated. They still own important intellectual property that they haven't sold and they are still involved with online gambling outside of the U.S. A deal can be struck at anytime with a casino and that will cause the price to skyrocket. The potential for Zynga's stock price is shown by the substantial increase back in April that was unfortunately followed by the drop it had when Zynga announced that it was putting a hold on its U.S. Gambling efforts. From that drop I highly recommend that you use a 15% stop loss. Some say a 20% but I prefer 15%. That goes with any stock and I believe those days are behind Zynga.
No, it is the weekend, look at Apple and other companies that have broad ranges as well
Carl Icahn said on Monday he is "very cautious" on the stock market, saying he could see a "big drop."
I agree with him and minimize my risk by investing in growing industries (3D Printing, Marijuana, and Online Gambling).
3D Printing - NVIV, XONE, SSYS (Sold my DDD and ONVO) ONVO just today:)
Marijuana - MCIG and PHOT
Online Gambling - Ebay because of Paypal and Zynga because of their mobile gaming capabilities and global reach. They are about to shoot up :)
I own the stocks for a reason and hope that readers check these out because I see a drop coming and so it is important to cover yourself. 3D Printing is going to be enormous!
Buy this stock at these prices while you still can!!!
I do not smoke marijuana but I have friends that do. When it is federally legalized I will. I am prescribed Xanax but hate taking it because of the side effects. Marijuana would be a much better alternative but too many people are making money off of these drugs that marijuana would replace as a safer alternative.
Anyway, I have friends who use mCigs and say they are awesome. They like them because they will walk around and use them and people will think they are the tobacco ones! This is such a cool invention. The two marijuana stocks that I am invested in are MCIG and PHOT. Buying more of both tomorrow.
NVIV had a nice jump today. Long way to go to be where they were before but I see high potential
You trust SGLB?? I don't at all. I love ONVO and SSYS. XONE is undervalued today but they aren't my favorite long term. I am not an expert on the technology so I sure am glad I have access to people who are. My company has four 3D printers. Three are SSYS and the other is 3D Systems. Take my advice and go long SSYS. I do R&D contracts and understand the importance of intellectual property. Thanks to Uncle Sam's low interest rates and other jazz it really gave a few of the companies the opportunity to leap in front of the rest. 3D printers are being used for everything. It is such an awesome technology
I signed on just to post the article!!!! I'm posting it too just so I didn't sign on for no reason http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/whos-making-money-off-the-marijuana-gold-rush.html/?ref=YF
It was on a tear. It will have a shaky week or two an then continue its path. The investors who bought it for the undervalued price got nervous with the media Zynga got the past couple days and then it triggered stop losses (some of mine unfortunately) and so that is why it is why it had such a drop. A lot of the investors were the same ones who were invested at the time Zynga announced they were no longer going to waste money pursuing a U.S. license while online gambling wasn't federally allowable. I am hoping I can grab it under $3.38 which I do believe it could go under within the next week or two before heading back up. I am not as worried about this earnings meeting as I am with the following one. The company did a complete restructure and it takes time for those things to play out. For example, look at some sports teams like the Pittsburgh Pirates! This leads to a perfect example of why it is critical to have quality management so it doesn't take since 1992 to become a premier organization again.
I saw someone's mention in this thread about PHOT. October 1 cannabis.org is launched so I highly recommend buying tomorrow so you can make a quick few bucks.
Tht is why it is best to do your own due diligence. The markets are about to go crazy anyway.
There was a ton of buying today. I like it. Good sign :)
Wow, selling high to be new
Best reason to buy??? Because expert Mark Cuban bought 1 million shares and he is not someone who typically buys stocks.
How about you share that info with me please. I could use some help. Gold hates me.
I was going to short the stock at $2.99 because it keeps bouncing back and forth at $2.75 and $3.00 but it crept so slow but steady to this position that I think it is goin back to $3.50, I really do. I think Zynga may have broken through the resistance finally. I am excited to wait and see.
To clarify, I am long ZYNG but have funds I also use to short the stock.
As far as REAL SALES for a marijuana company this is the one to go with. The lights are needed to grow! The industry is based on federal and state law and so the CEO would need to be a lawyer to understand how the business has to to operaate. Luckily Growlife has just that! Even with federal government allowing states to make their own rules there are still different rules in each state. This article explains that we are there ladies and gentleman. This is real!! http://abcnews.go.com/US/marijuana-ruling-signal-end-prohibition-pot/story?id=20118755&page=2
Have you seen the commercials? The commercial I saw for Growlife were VERY good. I couldn't find them on Youtube. I knew I should have recorded it on my phone. It was a couple weeks ago before a Pirates game.
Yes, April of next year is when all of the restructuring will begin to pay off but it will be 2016 when everything all of its business segments should be profitable. Just because a company has revenue doesn't mean it is profitable. There are way too many companies that use revenue as their driver. Spending money to make money isn't necessarily true.
Shhhhhh let the haters hate. Be patient, think of Warren Buffet's quote. It will move slow until April of next year. July 2016 is around the time where most of the planning going on right now will be operational and running smooth.
"Haters gonna hate." How did that "slogan" even start to be grasped as sounding intelligent by anyone? Same people who watch Honey Boo Boo
What is going on with this stock?!?!?!?!?! I haven't been able to stay updated but I bought this stock around $5.30 and now it is only worth half of that. The stock price was on a constant rise and then "fart noise"... I tried reading through people's posts but I keep getting an error message that says a script is causing problems with Adobe Flash Player. This sucks, I can't even buy a new computer because I just lost all my money in this stock!
Hoping it goes down tomorrow so I can buy some more shares. Anything under .012 is great until it grows more. Never know she this will shoot up, though
JUST SAW COMMERCIAL!!!! I am watching the pregame show for Pittsburgh Pirates and just saw an awesome Growlife commercial. Not even being bias, it was a REALLY good commercial.
WOW, THIS ISN'T ON BREAKOUT BOARD YET. I AM SHOCKED. WILL BE SOON!!!
JACKPOT BABY!!! BUY THEM NOW. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL BABY!!!!
MUST READ!!! Article I just read that brings up very good point. They say you're known by the company you keep. In the business world, the equivalent to that axiom is that you're known by the caliber of talent you can attract. With that as the yardstick, Growlife Inc. (OTCBB:PHOT) is easily not only the stock market's top marijuana play, but one of the best speculative small cap stock ideas around. In fact, the PHOT management dossier just got even better looking today.
It's not pointed out enough, but a list of the upper management members of Growlife Inc. raises impressed eyebrows when investors and onlookers learn who's guiding the ship. Take CEO Sterling C. Scott for instance. Most investors likely just know that he's been at the helm of PHOT since April of last year. What they may not know is that prior to joining his current employer, he also led an incubation project for the Technical Management Services Company (TAMSCO), and prior to that was a partner in a law firm, focusing on federal regulatory issues and litigation. That experience alone will prove invaluable, as the debate over marijuana's legality heats up. Even where it is legal at the state level, regulation will be difficult to navigate.
Sterling Scott isn't the only legal expert PHOT has in its corner, however. While many Growlife shareholders may recognize Kyle Tracey as the President of the company, what they may not recognize is that Tracey is the resident expert on everything the company sells or promotes. He was the business development manager for SG Technologies (now a Growlife subsidiary), and has actually led the launch of new hydroponic equipment. He's also got a rolodex that's loaded with people and groups that turn heads within the hemp world, such as High Times magazine and festival promoters Guerilla Union. Those contacts and experience are of particular benefit to the company's event planning and promotion arm, GrowlLife Productions... another PHOT subsidiary.
So then, it should come as no surprise that the company announced another mover and shaker has been brought into the fold today. Randy E. Breitman has been named as the Director of Business Development. He's a real estate guy in the New York area, letting him sharpen his sales and promotional teeth on the toughest of markets. He also has a graduate degree in business, and - get this - has completed an executive management curriculum at the prestigious Wharton School of Business. That's about as qualified as you can ask a business development guy to be.
The bottom line is, if for no other reason, PHOT is a compelling play because some very qualified people chose to take the helm. Any of these gentlemen could be working for may other employers (and probably for more money than they're making working for Growlife Inc. right now), but they all three chose to hitch their wagon to this young organization. That may tell potential shareholders everything they need to know about the company's potential.
TWO EVENTS WILL MAKE THIS SHARE SKYROCKET. They are both coming in the very near future.
1. Dennis Rodman is going to be on CNBC's Fast Money. That is ENORMOUS! I didn't believe it but sure enough when I looked at the Twitter accounts they checked out. If you don't believe me go on there and check for yourself
2. The vodka is set to distribute sometime within the next week.
I am betting they will wait a couple weeks after distribution to have Dennis Rodman on CNBC because of the massive demand that it will spur. A problem some new companies experience at the beginning is the ability to fill the orders when demand exceeds ability to supply.
This is going to be very exciting to watch. I am long with short plays along the way when I see opportunity. Right now is definitely time to buy just before very positive news. I will probably sell two days after and then buy several days after to hit the bottom dip before it shoots back up.
Distribution news will probably make this stock reach .04 because I am sure that is when the PR will really take off.
Just like this article stated: http://www.brandchannel.com/home/post/2013/07/12/All-The-News-You-Can-Drink-071213.aspx
This stock is going to SOAR now.
This is a great article explaining where the marijuana industry is at this point of time.

Thank you for the private message. I am unable to send them because I do not have a premium membership. I don't see the need for one except I would like to send private messages to people. My email is sterock420@yahoo.com so feel free to email me before someone deletes this message for no relevance. I would like to send you a couple things. Actually, since this has no relevance I might as well include in this message. Check out stock NVIV (3D Printing company) and MU (Computer Chip company). NVIV just went down a bunch and this is perfect time to buy. MU just hit its next bottom. My brother is a computer engineer and was telling me how popular their computer chips are becoming.
Sorry everyone else for irrelevant comment but wanted to make sure I responded to mick.
Ending at $3 and I am ecstatic I was able to gobble some more shares today at $2.85 and want to thank all the panic sellers for such a great opportunity. I am keeping a few thousand to see if it goes down Monday or Tuesday.
There has been a lot of difficulty with online gambling by individual states. The company has to have extra technology to ensure that the players are not playing from across state lines. If a player access from outside those state lines there are severe fines. It costs $500,000 for just a license to start and the company has to have a casino. I am glad Zynga is sitting it out in the United States until it is legal in all 50 states. IT SAVES THEM MILLIONS NOT PURSUING IT. If anything, the price shoudl go up from this decision. It isn't forever and when they do enter the U.S. market it will be a smooth transition. They will have experience in the gaming industry with real money from its UK and other country experience while still offering fake money Zynga gambling games.
Look at what country's Zynga Poker dominates. Zynga Poker is HUGE in Indonesia. Once they have real money gambling it will lead to substantial revenue. Indonesia also has one of the fastest growing economies the past few years. Indonesia has the largest economy in Southeast Asia and is one of the emerging market economies of the world. The country is also a member of G-20 major economies and classified as a newly industrialized country. The country's economy got crushed in 1997 but since 2004 the economy has recovered and growth has accelerated to over 6% in recent years.
Zynga also has plans to release several new games. This price is pretty much as low as it is the company is going to go. The price is after panic selling, no games released recently, and the new CEO is just getting started. Good luck everyone.
Would you mind PM'n me the company you are talking about?
I'm not just continuing to hold. I bought more this morning :) Zynga beat expectations on their earnings yesterday. The company has $1.27 billion. They had 86 patents for online gambling, which I believe is over 100 now but I don't want to give inaccurate information. The price is under $3.00 with 793.9M Outstanding Shares. I honestly am not sure how this next quarter will play but I am going to be looking at times to short during it because this stock is ridiculously volatile. Look at the volume the past two days. I can be risky with this stock because I know that no matter what this stock will at least be over $10 in 3 years. The CEO has 95% of his income based on the stock price and it really kicks in at the 3 year mark. They have a lot of things planned. This CEO wanted to buy Zynga in 2010 because he has big ideas/plans for the company. He had the option of going to EA, MSFT, or Zynga and he chose Zynga. This is after he saw the ins and outs of all three of the companies. This is also the CEO who transformed the Xbox and I have a good feeling he is about to do the same thing with Zynga.
They did mention the overseas opportunities. UK online gambling is still in play.
When does Don Mattick's salary based on stock price kick in? 95% of his salary is based on the stock price. If it doesn't kick in until tomorrow because they had the period start after the company's next earnings than this was perfect for him. I know it kicks in the largest on the 3rd year. Given that the CEO's salary is tied so significantly to the stock price I believe there is something going on that only the board knows about. I am don't see them giving up on U.S. online gambling forever. They are just going to enter industry's in other countries while they wait for it to be legal in the entire U.S. Marijuana is legal in some states but not federally. Look what just happened yesterday at dispensaries in Washington. The same could happen with online gambling. Only being able to provide on a state by state basis is too much of a hassle and they states want $500,000 plus percentages of revenue. I agree with Zynga that it isn't worth it at this time.
So did I. This was almost expected. They are giving up on U.S. gambling until it is legal federally. The state laws were requiring all companies that wanted to be allowed to have online gambling would have to have a physical casino.
There was no indication that Zynga is going to stop its online gambling games in the UK. It also seems that Zynga is going to continue its expansion to Italy, Spain, Australia, and China. Zynga also fixed its relationship with Facebook and they are supposed to have an online gambling partnership.
I interpret this news as Zynga being straightforward with its investors that the online gambling isn't working right now so they are going to stop wasting money pursuing it in the United States until legalized federally. Zynga just acquired Spooky Cool Labs. It just doesn't make sense for them to completely dismiss the online gambling.
I wonder if them scrapping online gambling in the U.S. had anything to do with the VP announcing he was leaving this morning.
That is what I am waiting to see. I sold and am waiting diligently to rebuy but I am nervous that it won't be going back down. So many people were looking to short this stock. Look at the volume today. I REALLY want to buy this stock under $3.20 or at least under $3.30 again but I am not sure I will be able to. Some analysts said it was going to go back down to $2.75 but there is no way that is going to happen.
Very good decision. I expect a lot of sells from 1 pm to 2 pm. I am very curious to see where the stock price goes today but I can't wait to see how high it goes tomorrow and all of next week. There are a ton of people waiting to buy this stock at the right price.
WOW, WHAT AN AFTER-HOURS!!
Thanks to swatsock I have a guilty conscience and so to clear it I will try to help others :). I am buying tomorrow. There are others who probably are thinking like me that tomorrow is the best time to buy it cheap and so today might have been the best time to buy it. Your best bet is not to try and buy a stock at the exact lowest price and sell at the exact highest price or else you will do like I have done numerous times and will miss out. That doesn't mean you shouldn't try to buy at the right prices. If you buy this stock tomorrow you will buy it at a very good price. I highly recommend that you at least use half of your investment for a long term investment. This will be a very profitable stock in a few years. Here is a great article that was posted in Seeking Alpha that does a greaet analysis of the stock. AFTER you buy, I highly recommend sharing with everyone you know. Why make money alone? It also benefit you when they invest in Zynga and make sure to tell them to give you a piece of their profits. There are people who invest in tons of different stocks but all you need to do is stick with several solid stocks. Look where Warren Buffett made all of his money. He wasn't investing in 1,000 different stocks. This is a stock you can buy now and not worry about. I have a self directed IRA is half Zynga.
This doesn't mean go all-in. There are always things that can go wrong. I like to invest in growing industries because even if the economy tanks again, they will still have their industry growing. The same goes for companies that don't necessarily have a huge portion of the market share of the industry because that gives them more room to grow then the market leaders. Companies that lack the market share also typically lack the capital. Zynga does not lack cash whatsoever. My posts have mentioned how much cash they have quite frequently and I do it because of the importance that it plays. This is specifically important with technology sectors. Zynga meets this with the legalization of online gambling and its global movement. It also is transitioning into mobile gaming.
Back to companies that rely on the economy. Zynga's competitors rely heavily on the economy. Casino's got crushed several years ago but Zynga isn't as reliant because with online gambling they don't need their customers to pay for an airline or a hotel to be able to gamble.
As swatstock mentioned in his post, do your own due diligence. You are going to like what you see, I guarantee it ;)
That is what I thought. I would have imagined that shares would have gone up more than they did. Marijuana stocks went up today as well. Hopefully tomorrow they make a big jump.
