Good to know. Willing to sell for $100 at present...
No worries, I know how you feel. I kept defending him myself. And I thought your comment was inadvertently funny. I need all the humor I can get the past few day.
Thanks for posting this, Captain.
I seem to recall there was a cloud over the street.com and AF that was related to his moving on to his new gig. Maybe it was an outgrowth of this CREW complaint to the SEC; they're pretty-dogged and bring great investigative skills to bear when they latch on tho something.
I think I'll look for their contact info and ask if they want to do a follow-up, given what's happening now.
Took a 15% haircut on the shares I bought on sale today. And that's the good news, lol. The $18 strike options I bought earlier are off over 2/3s, and instead of being in the money are three bucks out... Tuition is a b*tch sometimes.
Looks to me like some folks may be having margin issues, accentuating the drop. Folks inclined to buy may be waiting for things to definitively move higher before dipping their toes in the water.
Woolly buggers are great, though I kinda like the black ghost better. Partly esthetics, I'll admit.
The Peruvian anchovy management news is great info; thanks for sharing with the board.
Closed most of my options today. Good news is I got a fire sale price on the shares I bought with most of the proceeds.
Bad news is I took a haircut on most of the options.
I also picked up a chunk of 11/23 18s. $1.29; too hard to resist
Now if JT can just get a little good PR out of london...
I have no idea who you're talking about. If he once existed, my mind has been wiped clean of his memory
Now that you're talking, I have another question for you: your name here, 'fisherjv' has me wondering. I used to be involved in joint venture--'jv'--fisheries in Alaska. Any chance that ties into your name?
Guessing not, but had to ask...
I am impressed that you created this alias in 2012, yet this is your first-ever post. Any chance you're related to 'Silent Cal' Coolidge?
Thanks for posting. Nice to see the ads going up.
But I like the Star Wars pics!!!
On a positive note, I've been teaching my son about investing. We most often discuss Amarin; it's been boring the past couple of months. We had a pretty good discussion earlier. Turns out even phenomenal news can get misinterpreted, and investors get scared out of positions because they did not understand what they bought.
He predicted we'll close around $20 when we talked this morning. Looks like he may be right...
Well, the mineral oil diversion had longer legs than I expected; I'll grant you that. On the other hand, I came out of 9/21 in a better position than you did. Guess this is the rubber match.
I'm playing with house money on my calls. Rolled some forward, buying some near term as I have capital, as that where wins--and losses--are magnified.
I'm with ya, Hawk. I am also overweight options, but that was my call. Let's all take responsibility for our own investing decisions here; if you cannot do that, then you should put your funds into an index or hire someone to manage your assets for you.
I'm still happy with my investment fwiw. Added a couple of 11/13 22s today of my own volition, as the price is beaten down, and I expect it to bounce above 22 before the 23. I could be wrong...
Geez, people, can't I take a morning off?
Had to work and be away from my computer this morning, finally get on and all hell has broken loose. And I missed the fire sale, and least a nice chunk of it.
Guess the FUD of mineral oil was sufficient to get the ball rolling downhill in the premarket, and it got leveraged further until pa bit of rationality and greed began to overcome the rampant fear that broke out among retails.
Btw, Sonam, love you analysis from last night; it would be hilarious if the FDA made Nissen extend his trial to address corn oil placebo concerns. As you noted, ya live by the sword, you die by the sword.
Wishing I had some spare cash... Have a check out there somewhere from a consulting gig, but in me experience those show up after the fact. Maybe Tasty can ask Santa to pull some strings at the post office...
Anyway, looks like the market is doing its thing. Buy if you can.
PS: Welcome back, JL. Thanks for your info over the years. Always enjoy reading your take; keeps my brain from atrophying.
Nice twitter thread here. Cites numerous experts, loves the outcome of REDUCE-IT, without cheerleading.

Kiwi,
I should have mentioned you in my response to Pyrr about V vs Praluent uptake. It was your relating of the regime you go through, and accompanying discomfort, that gave me confidence in my response. You strike me as an outlier in terms of commitment to such a regime. Not a bad thing--you are committed to giving yourself the best shot at a long and healthy life--but even with a wife who is an experience PA/nurse to give the injections, compliance is not a walk in the park. V, on the other hand, gives little to no negative effects, and for a number of folks improves mood, muscle recovery, etc, that are positive reinforcement to maintain compliance.
Thanks for sharing your experience; for me it has helped to round out the picture in a helpful way as I consider the implications of V going forward.
The placebo issue os so overblown that I expect it to be overwhelmed by all the positive issues when the market opens tomorrow. I've been wrong before, but REDUCE-IT simply blew away expectations, and the placebo issue is like, to borrow from HDG, a butterfly farting in a hurricane.
North,
Washington Post ran an article on REDUCE-IT and VITAL studies yesterday. Meager, though positive for REDUCE-IT. Comments display broad, but unsurprising ignorance...and whoever wrote the headline didn't read the article. Also not surprising...
Fish-oil drugs protect heart health, two studies say
G and AVII,
No problem seeing them on my end. And since Pyrr laughed at your poking fun at him, I guess he sees the pics, too.
I use a PC running Win 10 and Chrome browser...
Not going to read it. Some of these are simply click bait. Others have a specific agenda. They're not getting my time or attention. When they get lots of readers they heading prominence on SA.
