It doesn't. Higher rates spell disaster. They cannot compete in this space if rates go up.
I said so. No one listens. Traders can smell the BS of this one. All the spending, horrible money mgmt, and rising rates are going to buckle this one. Nice job to those of you who told ppl to hold. Maybe learn to read the filings before you advise people.
Nope. Right board.
Read their filing. Without this SPAC they were in a bad position. Wall Street doesn't want it.
I'm going back into cryo-sleep. Someone wake me up when its time to cash in and party! Lolololololol
Did none of you actually read their SEC filing? They're insolvent. A 25bps swing in rates and they are screwed. The fact that their CEO is a child who spends money like a buffoon doesn't help.
There's a reason Wall Street wants nothing to do with this turd. Do your research people. Read the filings. This is not a healthy company. This one has more dirt under its fingernails than most.
You're all in for a rude awakening. Do a little deeper digging.
What in the heck is going on with these GSEs. I bought stock almost 10 yrs ago and I'm still waiting to retire on it. LOLOL.
Seriously though, what is going on?
Thank you! I'm holding, doesn't hurt if it takes longer. Just surprised we're all still here with no resolution. It's crazy. The worst part about it is how obvious the answer has been to recap and release. It's the right thing to do. Let. Go. They can't seem to do it without muddling it all up with all the extra waves. It's over. They got what they got, let the dang thing go already. Now the talk of exercising warrants, lawsuits all over the place, reverse splits, all chaos. It's incredibly difficult to have faith in our govt.
... the saga continues...
I just checked, I've been holding since Nov 2012. Going on 8 years. This is the most dragged out, somewhat abusive relationship I've ever been in lol.
Glta. Stay strong. What's another 8 yrs? Lolol
I'm sorry but I guess I don't understand. So I have a few thousand shares of each Fannie/Freddie. Not as much as everyone here but I've been holding for about 7 years.
With all this recap and IPO talk, I can't seem to find a layman's terms answer to what happens to my shares? Will they disappear? Will they get swallowed up so I only get 1 new share for every thousand old shares?
I'm hoping you can please explain in plain terms. I feel bad asking but I'm worried and lost on what's being said.
Help?
Thank you!!!!!
That's fair. Tbh I've tried to check in weekly to the conversations since I found this site years ago. I've read many different perspectives and pps estimates. Whatever happens I'd be happy to find myself holding shares which are actively traded, not otc, and hold some value/have dividend. The fear is ending up with nothing after all of this time but I knew it was a possibility and the ultimate risk when I first purchased shares of FNMA/FMCC/FNMAS.
I wish us all a healthy outcome. Best of luck!
Thank you so very much for the thorough explanation! Much appreciated! Best of luck
I've been holding strong since Nov 2012. I'll keep holding until the end lol
Thank you!
Help?!
I'm still confused as to what will happen to us existing shareholders when all of this shakes down. My concern is getting wiped out like AIG shareholders a few years back.
Will someone please break it down in layman's terms? Apologies if this is a redundant question.
Thank you all, much luck & happiness to everyone!
I've owned 5k shares of FnF since Nov 2012 when I bought them for about $0.27 each. It's now 2019 and they're up since I bought them but nowhere near where they should be considering. Sometime in 2014 I bought 500 shares FNMAS, I don't 100% remember the price exactly but I'm pretty sure it was around $5 per share.
It is sad this is still going on under such obviously illegal circumstances. It is theft, pure and simple. They have stolen OUR money and stuffed it in their right pocket, then passed some bs rules allowing them to shuffle it to their left pocket and never give it back. Over the years I've signed petitions, written my senators, I even wrote a few Presidents about releasing FnF. The powers that be are going to do whatever they want with no legal, moral, or constitutional concerns or consequences because there are no consequences. That's our fault; We the People keep trying to play by their rules instead of stepping back and reminding each other that We are the only reason they have power and We can take it away. But, We won't. We will sit and wait. We are "the wrong kind of people."
"People on the side of The People always ended up disappointed, in any case. They found that The People tended not to be grateful or appreciative or forward-thinking or obedient. The People tended to be small-minded and conservative and not very clever and were even distrustful of cleverness. And so the children of the revolution were faced with the age-old problem: it wasn't that you had the wrong kind of government, which was obvious, but that you had the wrong kind of people." - Terry Pratchett, Night Watch
I signed up for that list years ago. Hoping I'm still on it because first and second rounds are on me!
I've been holding on since Nov 2012 when I snagged 5k shares for nothing. This has got to end at some point, I'm tired of doing the math as to what they'll be worth when it's released from conservatorship lol!!! Hold tight everyone and good luck to all longs!
Can anyone answer?
This will most likely be perceived as a stupid question but what is the outcome for common stock holders if Fannie/Freddie are privatized? I purchased a few thousand dollars worth when it was 0.28 back in Nov/Dec 2012. I just spent what I was willing to lose but I haven't followed it religiously. Can't seem to figure out, in layman's terms, what happens if the fat lady sings, so to speak. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thank you and good luck to all!
Sounds great! Sign me up!! How I kept them? I figure as long as I'm not losing money and I don't need the money then why touch it? It's only about $15k, can't exactly pay off my house with that just yet (24 yrs left on mortgage lol). I check in here every now and then, read the comments, enjoy the fun, check my Scottrade, then go about my business.
It would be great if everyone is right!! I love this stock!!!
Take care and best of luck to all!
I've been long since 2012 @ $0.28. All I could afford at the time was 5000 shares, I don't know if that's enough to be included but I've held the entire time!!
Thanks
No, I didn't sell my shares. I saw that happen in May but I didn't need the money so I figured what's the difference, let it ride. I believe it was a good move. I bought the shares for a long term hold.
I can appreciate my request does deserve a bit of sarcasm; I can laugh at myself too. But seriously, it seems there are many intelligent people on here that could break it down in a sentence or two and I would appreciate it.
Thanks to all!
I am so confused. Can someone break this down "for dummies" style? I bought 5000 shares at $0.28 this time last year. I've barely paid attention but what exactly is going to happen to my shares if this new proposal goes through?
Thank you all for your time.
Signed. love it-good call.
Feels like I've been in a boxing match for days.
How can they relist if they are still in c-ship? ???
When is the earnings report set to come out?
That was a bit unnecessary. We all make jokes and random comments. Try not to be so righteous- we are all using this site as an outlet for thoughts, ideas, and emotions- including you.
from your "mouth" to God's ears
Scottrade won't allow a $50 sell price on FNMA
Ok. It's getting ugly. I'm out. Good night to all.
Part time workers??? Huh?
Jesus, Heizenburg. You are officially never invited to one of my parties! !!! Lol.
Nice post Mr102.
Dylan Thomas:
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rage at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light....
That poem is all I can think about.
A piece of me feels like maybe I should have sold my shares at $5 --- but I have never given anything away for free and I don't intend to start now. Selling at $5 felt like I was being taken advantage of... could be wrong but it is worth the risk. I'll hold until I'm good and ready to sell, because I feel like it, not on hype.
GLTA
Why are you not a moderator for FNMA anymore?
They are not scaring me out of my $0.20s shares. I have all the time in the world to wait.
I'm dead in the water. Live Price Plz? Scottrade hates me. I'm moving my money.
Oh. My. God. F $&/#@^^$# price please???????
Scottrade = Fredo. Its dead to me!!!!!!
I have the boo-boo runs bc I can't get in!!!! My stomach is inside out! !!
Sweet love of God! Whats the price! !! Scottrade sys down. They are killing me! !!!!!!
