Efficacy of SomatoKine in an Extreme Insulin Resistant Patient:
In September Insmed reported on results from a nine-month analysis of therapy with SomatoKine® (rhIGF-I/rhIGFBP-3) (mecasermin rinfibate) for a patient with Leprechaunism, the most extreme form of insulin resistance. The nine-month analysis demonstrated substantial improvements in growth, metabolic control, and neurological development. Of significant importance, the patient surpassed the average expected life-span for Leprechaunism, and continues to receive therapy to date.
More on Extreme Insulin Resistance
Syndromes of Extreme Insulin Resistance appear to result from genetic defects in the insulin receptor or insulin action pathways. In addition to insulin resistance and glucose intolerance or overt diabetes, these syndromes share a number of common features including variable degrees of hyperandrogenism, hirsutism, and dysmorphic features.
More on rhIGF-I/rhIGFBP-3, SomatoKine®
Insmed's SomatoKine® is a proprietary delivery composition of insulin- like growth factor-I (IGF-I). The novel compound is administered as a subcutaneous injection, which can restore IGF levels to physiological relevant levels. SomatoKine® is currently in a pivotal Phase III clinical trial for the treatment of Growth Hormone Insensitivity Syndrome (GHIS). On July 20, Insmed provided the results from a six-month data analysis of the ongoing pivotal Phase III GHIS clinical trial showing a statistically significant increase (p<0.0001) in height velocity in children receiving SomatoKine® as a once-daily injection. In diabetic subjects, administration of SomatoKine® demonstrated a significant improvement in blood sugar control and a significant reduction in daily insulin use. Following severe burn injury, in both children and adults, administration of SomatoKine® demonstrated a significant improvement in muscle protein synthesis and a significant reduction in the inflammatory response associated with the trauma. In recovery from hip fractures, administration of SomatoKine® has demonstrated a significant improvement in functional recovery and bone mineral density

EPMN held strong today.
the average daily volume of any stock is found by going to stockcharts.com or yahoo.com.
EPNM: look at the volume compared to the average daily. Either a lotta investors buying, or some instituitions buying up the shares.
got more EPNM.
either way, EPMN seems to have developed a new base trading price of around 1.50, up 0.30 from the previous 3 months trading average of 1.20.
EPMN: up 4 cents already : $1.71
Well EPMN yesterday broke the bollinger, and closed just shy of the 200 DMA. 99% chances of the 200 DMA being surpassed today, in which case we can confirm a technical breakout.
EPMN: actually was doing some research looking for promising companies and found EPMN...actually picked it on the basis of strong fundamentals and a ready channeling chart. :)
EPMN: beautiful chart touching the 200 DMA, signs of a breakout tomorrow.
EPMN chart: beautiful chart touching the 200 DMA, signs of a breakout from here.
EPMN: touching the 200 DMA, should have a nice ride from hereon. :))))

good discussion here guys, keep it up :)
now you're talking!! ok what would make me specifically vote for Kerry? these are some of the things:
- anybody who willingly went to the vietnam war has proved bravery and patriotism. I personally believe he won his medals honestly, and I think he's proved his mettle and decision making power under enemy fire. Definitely a good leadership quality.
- His foreign policy seems to be the right way to go...I think we've alienated ourselves from other nations, and there's a lot of mending to be done.
- His teammate, John Edwards knows what its like to be a poor average american, and what challenges one faces in order to succeed. I think the memories of his struggle will spill over into his execution of vice presidential duties.
These are just things off the top of my head, there's more I'll pen down later when I have some time.
Quite honestly, I think John Kerry is NOT the best candidate we've ever had, and I think charisma wise Bush is better. But Bush has had time to prove himself over 4 years, and I still see that on TV when he is asked an unscripted question..he FAILS to come up with an answer. I watch C-Span a lot, and that is what I've observed.
IMO Kerry aint the greatest, but he's the best of what we've got.
and who knows...anyone can surprise you. Bush certainly did.
im trying to push forward the same point of view here...original thoughts, not cut and paste articles.
hehe nice post ARt :)
yep, you've been complimented alright :)
didn't really intend to go that low - that's ok, you're a natural :)
lol..being childish and saying "you too" is what is expected of persons who believe what they are told.
yep, that's pretty much what I read in a republican biased article....got any of your own thoughts on this topic?
agreeed 100%. but the this administration nor its supporters can't talk about real issues which concern majority americans - real issues are their only weak point.
and what the hell does that have to do with anything? pretty pathetic that the location of Heinz's factories is being factored into your political reasoning
this is the problem: anybody can write/read/show a dem or rep biased article. thats not the point here. we're supposed to use our thoughts and ourminds to figure out for ourselves what the deal is.
yes its very important to find out what happened in kerry life 35 years ago, in order to decide if he can be a good president or not.
Who cares abt economy, foreign policy, middle class living standard...these things aren't the concern of the Bush administration anyway.
lol..anybody who thinks theyr full of truth is either too stupid to use his own brain and reason, and so accepts whatever he is told, or.. is as full of crap as they are.
Survey results so far:
Kerry 19 votes 54%
Bush 14 votes 40%
Nader 1 vote 2%
No Answer 1 vote 2%
????? what r you asking? I ain't condemning anybody except the condemners. That's simple enough to understand.
pardon my ignorance..but whose that?
nope im not a veteran..and when i said the anti kerry veterans are doing a pathetic act, I'm referring to their stooping to slander and sleaze for the sake of politics. I believe the swift boat veterans just like any other veterans ought to be honored for their service in vietnam, as does John Kerry, but they are degrading their own selves and their service by stopping to such levels ie the ads.
what do you think?
politics is a dirty game, dem or rep, these veterans risked their lives for their country and that is enough..i personally think no veteran or non veteran should ever involve the nobleness of their service with dirty politics, and that goes for both anti kerry vets (who i think are doing a pathetic act) and those doing otherwise.
sorry, posting error
