good luck to you all. I started back in the PCA days and became a studio mgr after 6 months, a district mgr after 2 years, a market manager 2 years later, a market director 1 year after that, then back to a district mgr when they did away with markets. In all I worked for the company for about 9 years. CPI bought PCA I believe in 2008 when PCA went under. I absolutely LOVED working for both companies and went through 3 regionals. The experience was deplorable with all 3 regionals, but the last one was the worst, and I can tell you this is part of the reason CPI is going under now. The regionals ruled with an "iron fist" (and the last one was the worst like I said) and we were often threatened with our jobs if studios did not perform. When I left the company "to pursue other interests" I was long since ready to go. My first regional met with me for training and said "You have me for 2 hours, then you are on your own". I taught myself from then on and I took my district from the bottom 10 in the company to the top 15 in less then 4 months. I did mass hiring and training. Alcohol was a factor with all 3 regionals. After she left the company my first regional and I became friends and she admitted to me that she was so wrong in her treatment of me and apologized profusely, and told me I was her best district manager. She was young and too inexperienced for the regional director position. I someone DOES buy this company, I would love to come back. However, I fear the industry is dying, because everyone owns their own digital cameras and printing is dirt cheap for them, why do they need us when we will charge them a few hundred and they can do it for a fraction of that? Year over year I have seen the customer volume decline in every region in the country. Studio closings did not help, the volume kept on declining and when acquisitioning customers I was frequently told "we have a great camera and do our own now". The corporate fat cats will need to reduce their income if this is to work. Look up their incomes online. http://swz.salary.com/ExecComp/LayoutScripts/Excl_CompanyReport.aspx?companyid=7505
Again, best of luck you each and everyone one of you great people. You are the core of the company, without you, there would be no company.
