IBM Interested in DDD?
Just received this from Seeking Alpha:
3D Systems soars on IBM buyout rumors, takes peers higher • 10:43 AM
• Rumors IBM is interested in buying 3D Systems (DDD +6.2%) for $90/share (a 28% premium to current levels) are helping the 3D printer vendor surge to new highs. Rivals Stratasys (SSYS +3.9% - also making new highs) and ExOne (XONE +5.5%) are also up strongly.
• Heavy short interests (I, II, III) are probably adding fuel to the fire.
Historical High of $0.25 on 25 Mar 2011
Has anyone been following SGLB since 2010?
I just learned that it actually hit $0.25 on 25 Mar 2011.
Anyone have any idea what was happening back then?
Yahoo historical info only goes back to 24 Jan 13.
Happy to Have Bought Last Week at below 30.
Looks like we are continuing to move up this week.
My guess is that there is something going on that we are not privy to.
The news from last week is not enough to keep this momentum going.
GLTA!
Wow - Looks like the SS Sigma is going to have to be an aircraft carrier to land all the private jets that we will have when it gets to 60 a share.
EuroMold 2013 presents the topic of investing in 3D printing technology at the Terry Wohlers Conference
http://www.presseschleuder.com/tag/terry-wohlers/
Is anyone planning to attend the Terry Wohler's Conference in Frankfurt Germany on Thursday, 5 December 2013 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm at Portalhaus, room Frequenz 2, hall 11, Messe Frankfurt//Main exhibition site?
Looks like a great event for 3D printing investors.
I hope the SS Sigma has a helicopter pad on it. If this stock goes to $10 by 2016 I will need a place to land the helicopter that I am going to buy from my SGLB profits.
So - I take it that you have no facts on a current pump??
If so, I would really love to see them.
They may or may not of done something wrong in the past, I will leave that up the courts to decide.
I am interested in the facts of what is going on today.
Old News!
How about something that is current that backs up your statement that a pump is ongoing?
I like to work on current facts.
Please Share Your Research on Who is Pumping.
I did a search on Pump and Dumps and did not see any company pumping. If you know of any company that is pumping this, please share it.
Looks Like Something is UP!
There has to be a real reason that this stock is up 22% today.
I drove by their new warehouse in Anderson, IN last night and there was a semi in their loading dock area. Looked like he was there to make a delivery.
The racks in the warehouse are still stacked and have not been set up yet.
Overall, it looks like something is up.
Not to beat a dead horse here, but I thought the private placement was for 120 million shares that went for 1 cent each and generated $1.2M for the company.
1.2 million shares is nothing and definitely not something to be worried about.
I could be wrong.
Thanks.
Sorry to hear you are down.
ClearSudden - I contacted Gary and then talked with Richard Cardinale. Looks like they are getting at the very end of the offering. Unfortunately there is a $25K minimum in the USA. I did not want to get in this deep.
Looks like I will have to get in via the Focus' 40% ownership.
Thanks again for the info.

Echo Automotive Initiates North American Pre-Sales With EchoDrive Premiere
Limited Run Incentive Program Now Available for EchoDrive Plug-In Hybrid System
SCOTTSDALE, AZ--(Marketwired - Oct 29, 2013) - Echo Automotive, Inc. (OTCQB: ECAU) ("Echo Automotive," "Echo" or the "Company") a developer of technologies enabling the cost-effective aftermarket addition of fuel-efficient plug-in hybrid capability to new and existing vehicles, today announced the launch of North American pre-sales and the Company's EchoDrive™ Premiere incentive program.
Fleets looking to increase fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and decrease operating costs by adding plug-in hybrid capability to new or existing Ford E-Series vehicles can now reserve EchoDrive for delivery starting in mid-2014. Production of 1,000 units will be allocated to the EchoDrive Premiere program, which includes an extended warranty for each unit, first rights to additional production, and installation and services incentives based upon the number of units purchased. EchoDrive Premiere is a limited run program and will be offered on a first come, first served basis. The Company is also accepting reservations for its beta program, which is scheduled for rollout in the first quarter of 2014. Pre-orders from beta participants reserve a priority position in the production delivery schedule. Fleets based in North America can reserve their beta assignments and/or EchoDrive systems now by contacting Echo Automotive at sales@echoautomotive.com or calling 855-ECHO-AUTO.
"The feedback we have received at industry-leading events such as NTEA, the Green Fleet Conference and HTUF has been exceedingly positive and validates our bolt-on aftermarket approach to delivering plug-in hybrid capability, fuel efficiency and cost-savings for fleets," said Jason Plotke, Echo Automotive Chairman and President. "We are excited to open pre-sales and expect to have the EchoDrive Premiere program fully subscribed by year end. We encourage fleet operators to act soon to secure their units and accelerate their time to cost-savings and emissions reductions."
EchoDrive is a bolt-on aftermarket system that quickly and easily adds plug-in hybrid capability to new or existing fleet vehicles, increases fuel-efficiency up to 50% and decreases emissions up to 30% -- all without affecting the OEM powertrain or ICE operating capabilities. The Company's beta program is scheduled to launch in early 2014 with EchoDrive first-run production to follow later in the year. CBS Evening News Segment on 3D Printing
CBS just had a segment on a father who was printing a prosthetic hand for his son on a home 3D printer. Son was born with a deformed hand and was elated to have a functional hand.
Design was provided to him free from an inventor in Washington State.
It was a nice segment that shows practical uses for 3D printers at home.
Clearsudden - Thanks. I appreciate the information.
RocketStocks - Any idea what is driving TLG in Australia? They are up 36% today.
Talga Resources is up 36% today in Australia - Why?
Does anyone know what is driving the surge?
http://talgaresources.com/
I see they are mining graphite in Sweden.
Clearsudden - How do you invest directly in Grafoid?
I see where Focus has a 40% stake in Grafoid and they have the same management.
Is there a way to invest directly into Grafoid?
Money TV Interview with Jim Nelson
Looks like SLTD is paying Money TV to talk with and about them. I just listened to Jim Nelson updating everyone on the company. At the end of the interview Jim said that he would talk with Don B again next week. Looks like a weekly thing for a while.
What I found interesting is that Jim talked about SLTD making acquisitions several times.
First time was about acquiring a solar installer.
Second time was about acquiring a system integration company.
My question is where in the world is this company going to get the money to make an acquisition?
I would like to buy a lot more of this company but want to get a better feeling about them before buying more.
Something was up this AM with the MMs.
Trading volume was extremely low and price did not seem to move in the first 30 minutes or so.
I thought for a while that trading might have been halted.
Now I know what was going on and it makes me very happy.
I have been long on this stock for about 2 months. Bought a million shares at about .007. So far I have lost over 50% of my investment,
I have no problem holding on to this as long as there is some light at the end of the tunnel.
From what I have read they own two patents for two products and a lot of shares in a Australian Company that they sold all their other assets to.
Company has not filed reports with the SEC in a few years.
I would really like opinions on what the best case scenario is for Novadel?
I am prepared for the worst case, but really want to know the best case.
RocketStocks - Thanks. Good site.
RocketStocks - Thanks for this post. I saw the video a few months ago and then invested in some Graphite mining companies and they just lost money.
Any recommendations on how to invest in Graphene?
Which companies are the most promising?
Gary - Any thoughts on how HP plans to quickly enter the market?
Any guesses on who they might be looking at to acquire?
HP to enter 3D printer market in mid-2014 says CEO Meg Whitman
HP CEO Meg Whitman has told the Canalys Channels Forum in Bangkok that the company will enter the 3D printer market in the middle of 2014.
"We are excited about 3D printing," Whitman said, adding that it is a natural business for HP to enter given its heritage in printers. "We want to lead this businesses. HP labs is looking at it."
The things HP's boffins are considering is the time it takes to print an object. "To print a bottle can take eight to ten hours. That's all very interesting, but it is like watching ice melt," she said. Lower cost is also on the agenda.
"3D printing is in its infancy" she said. "It is a big opportunity and we are all over it. We will have something by the middle of next year."

That "something" will be aimed at service providers to help them establish 3D printing bureaux. Whitman said HP is asking "how do we commercialise to print faster, at lower price points?, to enable service providers?"
Whitman did not say just what form HP's 3D printing product will take, over than to say it will be a "new technology".
She added that she does not expect 3D printing will quickly become a big business.
"These businesses go along, get a little traction, go along, get a little more traction, then hit the knee of the curve." Whitman feels 3D printing's knee is around three years off. ®
Gary,
Thanks. I picked up a few shares today in order to keep these guys on my radar.
Appreciate your efforts to find good stocks that are worthy of investments in the 3D printing area.
I am surprised there is not an ETF that is dedicated to 3D printing companies.
Gary - Great call.
i plan to hold on to all mine.
ARCAM has gone up more than 1,000% since its IPO a little over a year ago.
I expect this German Company to be just as successful.
I do not want to have to time the market on this one.
Between VJET, SGLB & SBOTF, this has now become my best day ever in investing.
Gary - Any guesses on how many days of gains we might see before a retrace?
I am pretty sure that we will see a retrace just like we did with Xone.
Xone's retrace started on the 3rd day of trading. Of course it soon recovered and is doing well today.
Gary - Thanks.
By far, the best day in my investing adventures.
Please keep the information coming on jewels like VJET.
Regards - Scott
I was able to get in at $20 on both my Fidelity and USAA accounts. My broker was able to get me in at 19.50. Looks like my broker got preferential treatment. oh well.
Buy today and sell on Monday or Tuesday.
Buy today and sell on Monday or Tuesday.
I got in at 20 for 1,900 shares.
Is there a difference between ADR and ADS?
I wanted to ensure that everyone realizes that VJET is an ADS. ARCAM is an ADR.
American depositary receipts (ADRs) allow foreign equities to be traded on U.S. stock exchanges; in fact, this is how the stock of most foreign companies trades in U.S. stock markets. ADRs are issued by U.S. depositary banks, and each one represents one or more shares of a foreign stock, or a fraction of a share. When you own an ADR, you have the right to obtain the foreign equity it represents, although most U.S. investors find it easier to own the ADR.
For example, let's say that shares of CanCorp (a fictitious Canadian company) sell on the Toronto Stock Exchange for C$5.75 (US$5). A U.S. bank buys a number of shares and sells ADRs at a ratio of 2:1. Therefore, each ADR represents two shares of CanCorp and thus should sell for US$10.
ADRs are held in the vaults of the U.S. banks that issue them, although the shares they represent are actually held in the home country of the foreign-based corporation by a representative of the U.S. depositary bank. ADRs simplify the process of exchanging foreign shares: since it is only the receipts that are traded, investors do not need to worry about any exchange rate differences or the need to open special brokerage accounts. Furthermore, ADRs entitle investors to all dividends and capital gains.
An American depositary share (ADS), on the other hand, is the actual underlying share that the ADR represents. In other words, the ADS is the actual share trading, while the ADR represents a bundle of ADSs. For example, if a U.S. investor wanted to invest in CanCorp, the investor would need to go to her broker and purchase a number of ADRs that equal to the amount of CanCorp shares that she wants. In this case, the ADRs are the receipts that the investor has to purchase, whereas the ADSs represent the underlying shares (CanCorp) in which she invested
Goose - I am in the same boat.
Is there a reason you cannot buy at the market tomorrow for VJET?
Given that you want to buy in ASAP after the secondary starts trading, wouldn't it be quicker to just put an order in at market.
Seems like this would execute quicker and probably get you a lower price.
I believe that getting in as soon as the secondary market opens is very important.
I also read that the only way we will be able to buy is when someone who bought in at the IPO sells their shares. With the IPO being the primary market, this seems to make sense.
I just hope someone buys at the IPO and then sells to make a quick low profit.
Thanks for the short report. Did not know this resource existed.
Here is a link to a Motley Fool article on VJET. It talks valuation and compares VJET to the other three (DDD, Stratasys and Xone). Not surprisingly the article does not mention ARCAM.
http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2013/10/15/voxeljet-3-d-printings-newest-public-player.aspx
The real question is how much of a pop will occur between IPO and when most of us can buy on the secondary market.
Based upon the Xone IPO in Feb 13, the stock went up for about 3 days and then retraced. The highpoint for from 7 Feb 13 to 15 March 13 was the close on the day after the IPO.
Date Adj Close*
Feb 21, 2013 26.28
Feb 20, 2013 25.55
Feb 19, 2013 27.10
Feb 15, 2013 25.44
Feb 14, 2013 27.18
Feb 13, 2013 28.01
Feb 12, 2013 27.50
Feb 11, 2013 30.07
Feb 8, 2013 30.10
Feb 7, 2013 26.52
Gary - Thanks for your thoughts on VJET.
Do you feel the VJET IPO will be big news to investors? Look at ARCAM which is equivalent to VJET. The volume on ARCAM is so low that I am wondering if investor outside of the 3D world will even pay it much attention. Very few articles in 3D printing even mention ARCAM since it is an ADR and a foreign company.
When Xone hit the secondary market it was at 2 X the IPO price.
I plan on buying VJET once it hits the secondary market but want to ensure that I do not pay too much on the first day.
Any predictions what will happen with VJET?
