Let the marketplace decide.
I’ve been a lurker on this board for some time. It was a reprieve from the wasteland that is the Yahoo! board. Now this board is contaminated and filled with so much trash it’s as useless as Yahoo! Searching these boards for information is a lot like fishing. A lot of sitting in the boat drinking beer interspersed with a few moments of excitement. Occasionally I have found a keeper, and it’s exciting when I do, but now there seems to be too much beer and not enough excitement.
I have a speculative position in STSI because I’ve tried the product and it works for me. I won’t go into details other than to say I am a 58 year old, very physically active man, who is very happy he discovered this product. I’m no daytrader, this is a long term position for me. The shares are stuffed in my drawer and I’ll check them again in three years.
There is no doubt the stock is currently overvalued based on historical data. The market cap is inflated due to wild speculation about a $billion tobacco settlement. It’s easy to understand the negativity. The tobacco lawsuit was a long shot at best and Jonnie Williams has a checked past. Now the company’s fortunes rest on the success of an OTC nutraceutical.
I believe those invested in this company are there because they are true capitalists. They want to profit by making the lives of the customers better in a symbiotic relationship. They believe the science behind this product and see in it the great potential to improve lives. No doubt emerging validation of the science needs to gain more traction in the media to push sales further than just word-of-mouth and company advertising can on their own. That won’t be easy in the face of the intense negativity, and management has had difficulty communicating their successes via press releases. Long investors have the advantage if this product can live up to the results of the animal studies and limited clinical trials, if not, obviously the shorts will win.
In my opinion the real test will come when results of the Alzheimer’s study are released. Based upon previous study results and my own experience, I believe it is more likely than not those results will be positive. Any treatment showing efficacy in the treatment of that malady will garner wide spread media attention and it’s not hard to assume that attention will boost sales. The shorts will find themselves in the unenviable position of rooting against a treatment that will bring relief to countless, long suffering victims. I know which side of that battle I want to be on.
Some of you will notice this is the only post I have ever made here. I’m just not that interested in what is said here about the other stocks in which I have a position. Such is the same with the GNC website, where the only review I have ever written was for Anatabloc. I am a user of the product as well as part owner of the company. I want to inform others of the benefits I have received from using the product, and I also want to help the company increase its sales so I can profit from its success.
There’s no doubt Star Scientific and Jonnie Williams have much to prove, both to the marketplace and their shareholders. That will be an uphill climb due to the reputation they have built and only scientific proof will get them over the top.
This post was intended to express my frustration with the increasing sophistry of these boards. To those who add value to the discussion, thank you. To the others, let’s let the marketplace decide who will be right.
