Good job on Kerx! How long were you holding?
I think AMD will reach $5-6 by 1Q14
We're movin' on up...$3 by end of month
Sounds right to me....Scenario 1 I see $3.00 plus by the Feb 1, Scenario 3 has already been softened by Scenario 2 (as you say its already been baked into the cake) so I can't see it dropping much below $2.50 come the 22nd. The shorts may wait til then to see a further drop but my guess is they will be dissapointed. When that doesnt happen, they will begin to cover and soften any further drop. Even if it does drop I think thats all the more reason to buy more. The corrective measures AMD took will take some time to show a positive in the quarterlies. My expectation is $4-5 by year end or 1QTR 2014 and even higher in 2014.

if its that big no wonder all we hear is complaints about the stock LOL
if they believe its temporary I think they will otherwise they are waiting for a disaster and then we are all in the red
I beat you....mine is 3.36% includes about $100 in commissions LOL Let's see what tuesday brings with the 4Q report...time to stock up on more stock LOL I plan too come hell or highwater
like John said shorts will begin to cover and it will come back up. AMD went down because Intel went down because some spending plans are making intel investors nervous but they are not tied at the hip...you will see
hold on and you'll probably make $25,000 by year end
you carrying 10,000 shares?
wish i didnt have to wait til payday to buy more LOL I might miss the discount
me too...I'm in it for the long hawl. The price goes down I'll take advantage of the discount when I buy more
those are restricted stock awards probably given as a year-end bonus...it has no bearing on the open shares available to the public. They are not sales they are distributions...speaking of insider trade there was a lady director Dr Su who purchased $200K of regular shares about two months ago. There may have been others. Havent been looking....its bad news when shares are being sold by insiders...there are a few but low amounts probably sold to pay a mortgage....so not to worry.
I've been watching the stock after hours and I've noticed more what appears to be panic selling than in the regular hours. Anyone else get the impression the after hours trader are different breed of trader? More speculative than analytical?
The stock is only down 7 cents since close....tomorrow the believers will pick up the shares the unbelievers sold and the price will be back up...Like I said I dont trust after hours trading
Kumar was just promoted to chief Financial Officer reporting to CEO Rory Read. The stock options are part of his reward
I dont trust the after hour action. I think its more mindless speculating than thoughtful investors. Look at Nvidia I think AMD is shifting its market around to compete with them. I'm not worried that Intels dropping. Just my opinion though.
Since Nov 26 AMD outperformed the Dow except during the last week in December when the losers who must have bought early at a high price where selling out to balance out capital gains with capital loses....I bet alot of them repurchased after the first. That would explain the activity out of the box in early January. I think this stock is going places and people are ignoring the naysayers
that moving average chart above doesnt make sense to me....using 600, 300 and 50 days seems to be to far out and gives too much weight to long ago. I think a better way would be to use 10, 25 and 50 or using a logarithmic scale that puts greater weight on the more recent numbers. With 10, 25 and 50 u can see the crossover points where 25 overtakes 50 and 10 overtakes 25 giving a better sense of the stock price momentum....Any thoughts?
unless of course we can figure out how to make a crystal ball otherwise my guess is probably as wrong as yours LOL
I think you gotta do your homework and let what you believe be the decision....frequently these analysts are flat out wrong or too late to be used usefully...I see a drop most likely but the bounce will be softened by the short selling leaving a healthy support level at a little lower price.....maybe 2.50 or 2.40 worst case
Also the shorts will cushion the bounce at the first sign of a drop the price could actually turn south again because the demand will increase. Once the shorts are gone AMD will be on its own but I think 1Q report in April will be positive so not to worry.
BTW AMD hit the 3 month peak today
If its south of $3 come Feb 1 I plan to buy more! Even if it goes north of $3 I will still consider unless I think it might bounce back down and I can get it cheaper, for instance a drop of 50 cents is worth $500 per 1000 shares to the buyer. But as for selling shares I already have I think its hold tight.
I think it might sink to about $2.50 and then works its way back up over next month. The fact that people are buying now leads me to believe the effect could be minimal after a bad 4Q report. The bad report is not totally unexpected though because it will take some time for AMD corrective measures to show a positive result. The analysts will be looking for a gross margin increase which probably will stay the same or slip slightly. I think most investors know that so they are prepared for a bad report. It could go up or sink some but probably not rapidly down because the shorts will cover if it starts to sink rapidly. If I knew for certain I'd sell and buy back but that could be risky if the stock unexpectedly goes up instead of down. In the long run I think the measures AMD took will take effect and the price will go north of $5 or $4.
Nice and slow is fine for me....gives me more opportunity to leverage the time and buy more when the cash becomes available
No, I plan to buy more in February...If the stock drops after 4th qtr report on the 22nd I'll use the discount to buy more shares. Go long AMD!
Should reach the 3 month peak tomorrow
I would wait to see if there is an uptick in the gross margin when AMD releases its 4th QTR performance...if that happens I expect the price to exceed $3.
Come on let's break 2.60 already!!!
AMD second highest performer today S&P 500
playing games...thats not the first time
$3.00 by end of JAN!
over the next 5 trading days I expect to see $2.59 again...fiscal cliff may slow things down a bit but most of the damage is past due to selling out either losses or fearing capitals gains tax increase come the new year
Without a doubt AMD has more potential
Anyone been looking at RiteAid RAD...another small cap trading in at a dollar and change? Just turned over a profit for the first time in 5 years...Lookout Walgreens (just took a hit with their handling of ExpressScripts)
you could be right....this could be good investing or bad gambling...hopefully the former LOL
I think a deal is inevitable... altho Obama has the upper hand I think he is as much afraid of the populace furor as the Republicans...another recession will make Carter the 2nd worse president in the modern era with Obama taking first place
