Website indicated company online for a chat, so I inquired when the stockholders can expect an update from CEO Richard Kaplan. After several hours, "chat" is now offline, and no still response. Typical? You betcha.
Now that 10k is out - did anyone follow up with Kathleen Browne or Dick Kaplan? Ms. Browne's response to recent email was to call with any questions after 10k filed. Anyone take her up on that?
AMEN, Sammy B. After all, how long has Jim been dead? Let him rest in peace and lets MOVE FORWARD. The bitterness displayed does not do any good and reflects poorly on the poster.
Yet another newspaper article in today's D&C on a driver who dozed off at the wheel, died and left an injured passenger. And no mention of a possible solution on the horizon in CurAegis. I am weary and discouraged.
Great report, thanks. Now I wish I'd made the effort to attend. As long as they secure more cash, the news sounds very promising. Appreciate your overview of the meeting.
Anyone at the meeting? News?
I am no fan of JG but the man is dead - DEAD. Please for your sake, and others on this board, let this issue go, it's not healthy for you. No one can change the past and your continual references to a person who died years ago borders on obsession.
Lets hope he's correct in his predictions. One question: why do we stockholders have to read this in the paper? Why is there no communication to us before we read an article in the newspaper?
It's difficult to be optimistic with this company after so many years, yet there is something about DK's history and integrity that keep me believing. Here's to October.....
Couldn't help but think of Torvec while watching CBS News story on fatigue and air traffic controllers last night. With so many applications, Torvec has to bring it to market soon; time is running out.
Well said. Dick Kaplan is a smart man with a proven record of success and he appears to be able to pull together the right people. If he sees a somewhat different path to make the company successful, we should applaud him. I've been in this for 13 or so years, and think we should support any possible opportunity. While I'm on this side of the grass, hopefully.....
As I purchased wine in the shop after the meeting, I told the sales person "if you were a Torvec stockholder, you'd drink too." I was hoping to be on this side of the grass when Torvec "arrives". Doubtful....
You gave me my laugh of the day - $2.56 would give me an overwhelming profit of $.07 per share after 12 years. Now that's weird. Pathetic too.
Care to guess what that price might be??
What would this mean to the stockholders?
Thanks, Knot. I like your answer better than the one from Sulax.
What is the date of next stockholders meeting? Investor relations not working on Torvec website.
For the first time in years and years, I will skip the meeting this year. It may bring a change in luck - for all of us. This is beyond depressing.
A CFO who can't get a simple day / date correct does not inspire confidence.
Just a little compassion on my part. Sorry if you are offended by it, my Dad always told me not to speak ill of the dead.
I agree with your assessment of Dick Kaplan and would probaby buy more if the price drops again.
One request to all posters: we are probably in agreement that Jim was not as forthcoming as he should have been, but he is DEAD. I propose we let him rest in peace, if for no other reason than he still has family involved in the company. Nothing said about him can change what happened, lets cease and desist talking about him.
I should have clarified: near future is now anything under 3 years. We also have been invested for 12+ years....... Looking forward to a Guinness when the ship comes in.
I had the opportunity to attend a meeting at HQ Wednesday evening. You nailed it - the confidence and knowledge which I saw from DK and AG was inspiring. While I have had my doubts about this investment over the (many) years we have been stockholders, today I am confident the right players are in place and good things will happen in the relatively near future. I've known and worked directly for a few CEO's and have known only one who inspired and led the way DK appears to do. If anyone can pull it all together, it's him.
I for one am enjoying the moment. After 10+ years, even though still a bit underwater, I am convinced that this is it. I ignore the naysayers and enjoy the positive press the company is receiving. On to bigger and better things - and of course a truckload of cash I hope.
Republicans take the White House?
Lets see - Torvec has been "around" for about 15 years and has experienced issues which should have caused it to go belly up. Then, after years of mismanagement, DK is expected to raise it up from the dead in a mere 6 months? Really?? Miracles like that just don't happen. He has no need for money and is doing this job because he has checked out the technology and sincerely believes we really have something here. His past successes make him a winner, along with some of the others he brought on board. Will he make mistakes, such as with some of the Board appointments? Probably. Only God is perfect. I expect a minimum of 1 year, problaby a bit longer, to see results. Only hope I live that long...........
Naming him may cause me to dump all shares - through personal experience, one of the biggest jerks I've ever met. May be successful but not to be trusted. Reminds me of Elaine on Seinfeld, "fake, fake, fake, fake." IMO of course.
Could not find Torvec on the RIT website regarding the RIT Imagine event tomorrow, not a good sign as they have been there in prior years.
Maybe we should each bring a noisemaker and use it everytime JG says something we have heard before....
Wonder if it was a typo or will we all need a "reefer" after this one...
Amen, Amen, Amen!
I think there are plenty of us who think as you do and read but do not post often on this site. We are long term investors who continue to beleive progress is being made and if you can't stomach the wait, sell and get out. The negativity of a few is tiresome...
Just saw it on Forbes.com in addition to what's been mentioned already.
Have been out of town, drove by new headquarters out of curiosity on my way home, then logged on to hear this news. I have no doubt the next few months will give credibility to what the long time holders have been saying. While I don't post very often, I read this board daily and it's kept me sane - something friends / family thought I'd lost with my long term faith in Torvec. Hang on for a terrific ride.
Looks like it was a typo - check the amendment today.
They're here, don't know anything more.
Thanks, this is helpful. Am still a bit disappointed with the lack of any coverage, given the impact on the local econmy.
