I do not know what is going on with SKNY. Like you, my shares are now listed on ETRADE now but under an ancillary number rather than the stock symbol. The more intriquing part is that the shares now appear to have the same value as before they delisted. When it was delisted, they disappeared completely and my account was less the monetary amount I had in SKNY stock (which fortunately was not much). Now it's back, on the monetary side at least. I too am curious what is going on since I had kissed that money goodbye. May still be kissing it goodbye but it's not gone from the account yet.
I am asking this as a serious question and not trying to incite a riot or provide fodder for further derogatory remarks. How would you classify Vena as a mining company. Is it possible to make the argument that it's an up and coming mid-tier mining company?
Thanks
It disappeared from all the Target stores in my area about a month ago and not because they sold out. They don't even have store space there anymore and this is not a small market area (DFW and Houston). I've been to at least 9 stores and Skinny no longer occupies shelf space in any of them. I suspect this is a nationwide issue. I got out about 6 months ago. Love the product but the business is down for the count.
When it comes to my MDMN investment, I'm reminded of the immortal words of Seasick Steve - "I started with nothing and still have most of it left"
It definitely looks that way - lot of volume, almost all sales. There is something going on and it doesn't look good.
So far, Skinnny is a great product with a crap stock.
I personally used to be an avid vitamin water zero drinker. Skinny is much better and, after having tried the flavors, I have no problem paying a little extra for a product that is clearly superior. I bought shares based on the product and it's definitely a winner. Unfortunatelty, there have been some less than productive management and marketing decisions along the way. I think the next 2 or 3 quarterly financial statements will let us know what the future holds for skinny. I believe in the product and I'll be sticking it out.
FYI - just noticed on the SKNY website that they have a July 2012 investor presentation that is worth a look. It's under investor relations.
I think I mentioned this before but you can order it from Amazon. The cost is high (about $1.56 a bottle) but if you have prime there's no delivery charge and you'll get it within a day or two after ordering it. Last I checked it was 18.75 a 12 pack on Amazon.
WAG - the company had a rocky stock (as did the pps) and I'm guessing there's a fair amount of trepidation from shareholders to jump on board right now. It's a tough market to break out in too and it's a very volatile time for SKNY right now (basically do or die over the next year). They have a sold product though and I like the prospects for this company over the long haul - I'm looking at it as a 2 year investment.
I have had similar problems here in the DFW area. Our local Target carries Skinny but it seems to sell out of certain flavors really quick. The local CVS carries it but they charge a bit more. You can order it off Amazon and have it shipped Prime. It costs a bit more but it's nice having it mailed to your house instead of having to go to the store to get it. It appears (hopefully) that they are having problems keeping up with their demand - let's hope the recent loan will help with that.
I think you're right, just not sure how long it will take and how big it will get. I was convinced to pick up some shares in a questionable junior mining company a few months ago. I now wish I had to put that money into SKNY.
I am surprised that the PPS did not slide today based on the settlement announcement. I find it a bit curious that the creditor was willing to accept so many shares as part of the settlement - one could read something into that (such as the creditor believes the pps is going to go up in the near future). I do, however, think it's a madmans game trying to figure out the motivation behind some of the transactions involving the pinkies.
Based on the company's willingness and effort to grow the brand and based on the quality of the product - yes, IMO I do think it is a pretty solid investment for a microcap. I don't expect it to blow up though - if you look at the range it appears to have bottomed out (hopefully) and is now on the upswing. The next few days could be interesting if you believe volume precedes price. I'm not so sure that is always the case when you're dealing with penny stock though.
Wow - crazy volume today. There's a rumor about (I am spreading it) that Skinny is considering a groupon offering. Not sure that would have any immediate ramifications to the pps but building a larger customer base is definitely a positive.
My thoughts exactly Money re the volume yesterday - makes you wonder if something is in the pipeline or if one or two of the whales just made an impulse buy.
Final countdown (for better or worse) - I have been following this stock for several months now and, to state the obvious, it's going to sky rocket or tank over the next two weeks. We will either get substantial news and head upwards to .15 + (depending on the type of news) or this thing is going to tank to around .05-based on the company's failure to move forward with the agreement or assay results. Either way, it will at least be good to be done with the anticipation (I would prefer not to lose any more money on this though). I appreciate that the moderator on this board allows different points of view in regards to Medinah.
I've seen much worse stocks with shareholders convinced that the MM's are screwing them over and keeping the share price low. You have a tangible, marketable product with SKNY. No one can guarantee it will explode but that's part of the risk when you deal with the pinkies and pennies.
This is one of the better penny stocks around. I've done some decent DD on SKNY and I like what I see. They are utilizing their PR well and they are starting to get good distribution in the U.S. It's a tough market but I'm impressed with their direction - tried the product last night and it's good (at least the two I tried were - orange and blueberry).
