We’re we more prosperous with Materion and Engel? Just asking.
PAY, I should have been more clear, my apologies. When I say ‘negative’ , I do not mean something bad, I just mean NO. I’m not military, but I have kept company with many who were and I have picked up some of their lingo.
What I should have stated is I do not believe Materion’s pps has climbed due to the sale of Amorphous Alloy. Rather I believe it has increased because of sales of composite material (Be oxides), PVD and other alloy sales. Also, an aggressive policy of acquiring other companies that will benefit Materion in the long run. Possibly some slight restructuring. Their pps may continue to climb for these reasons but, I am somewhat concerned about their Price to Earnings ratio.
All that said, I do not believe LQMT needs Materion, as long as Li is as good as his word. God knows I would love to retire in my mid fifties.
I said nothing of the kind. Please reread that post.
Now you are suggesting that amorphous metal hype has moved Materion stock?
My comment had nothing to do with LQMT, rather Materion. My contention is that Materion’s current pps has nothing to do with Amorphous Alloy sales. If Materion had been selling Amorphous Alloy to Apple since 2017 then we would see it reflected in Materion’s stock price. Even though Materion’s pps as increased I do not believe it is because of BMG sales to Apple. However, Materion does sell other alloys to Apple.
At this point, LQMT future is with Eontec and Yihao Metal not Materion.
Are you suggesting that the reason for Materion’s current share price is the result of the sale of amorphous alloy? That would be a negative. Paraclete is correct, old link. Reading this board is like reading the news from the drive-by media.
It’s not lung cancer. It’s CBD ‘chronic beryllium disease’. This can only happen if you are grinding the material and putting particulate into the atmosphere and inhaling it. When it is tied up in an alloy it is harmless.
In regards to the 75th birthday celebration. I know this has more to do with the Hoover era. January 1945 FDR was still in the Oval Office and the one that began much of our social programs - not all bad by the way.
Austenitic steels are non-magnetic, while ferrous steels are msgnetic. It has to do with their crystalline structures. It would be nice if one of the more wealthier folks on this board could spare 1100 bucks for the 11 Pro and disassemble the back glass. Then there would be no question.
Yes. All steel contains Fe.
Nitrated coatings are extremely scratch resistant. Of course, there could still be a BMG plate sandwiched as well, but that wouldn’t explain surface hardness on the glass. It would be more of a structural support for the glass and phone.
Surgical grade SS is just that - Surgical grade SS. PVD is a coating. ‘‘This doesn’t sound like good news to me. Hope I’m wrong.
Sounds a lot like most successful entrepreneurs and inventors that I have ever heard or read about.
Regardless of the PPS, I feel a whole lot better with Li and what he has set in place, than I ever did about Steipp.
HELLO, BBOY!!
You make sure that bbq is kosher now!!
My only argument there is Apple and Lugee. In both cases LQMT did not have much bargaining power or cards to play. I think LQMT May have gon bankrupt had those transactions not taken place. Both Apple and Li saw easy prey.
Unfortunately, it looks as though China may be grabbing the IP. But, there is still a chance, be it minimal, that Lugee wants LQMT to profit. What was the alternative? Tim ‘I like rainbows’ Cook took advantage of LQMT in Apple’s special way - good old American capitalism. And, pretty much left us rudderless in the middle of the ocean. So, the way I see it, Lugee is not only our best bet but our only bet. The good old U.S. doesn’t seem to give a chit about BMG unless they can steal it too!!
That article is only 9 years old.
I believe the discussions pertaining to alloy development, and its simplicity, as opposed to the difficult and more important issue of method of manufacture have been discussed in past posts. Probably as long as 2 to 3 years ago.
I suppose for arguments sake they can call it just about anything they desire. But, if a list of elements within an alloy is contained on a chemical analysis sheet and, Ti happens to be on that list but as a much much lesser element, then it really would not be Titanium based. The designation would MOST LIKELY fall with its matrix constituent.
About every 2 to 3 months it comes up. My response was in regard to what someone thought might be Titanium BMG. When speaking of BMG or any alloy for that matter, it is always referred to by its Major or ‘Matrix element’, such as Zirconium BMG. Lesser elements within an alloy typically do not define an alloy’s name.
Actually, not far from the truth. There does seem to be a bit of misunderstanding about metallurgy on this board. Some continue to confuse Galium with BMG, etc.
Yup, nuthin’ can go wrong here!!
Previous post meant for BLOnGO.
I must compliment you on your letter as well. Li seems to be a man af few words which I have always felt is a good thing. It was a relief from all the smoke and mirrors statements of past CEO’s. However, a personal statement from him would go a long way currently. As long as Xi Jinping doesn’t delete the email before Li has a chance to read it.
I have the feeling we are going to see the name ‘Liquidmetal ‘ or ‘Liquid Metal’ on many things in the future and the company LQMT-USA will not see a dime. It sure is a shame how all this is playing out.
My understanding is, you paid plenty!
No communique from Li . Can’t make heads or tails of all the different posters’ versions of the PLA and who gets paid for what and all the BS stories and whining in between And, all the English translations of Eontec questions and answers are like a third language. What a great place to park my money!!
Or, 90 days.
LINK PLEASE!!
This stock will climb again. Hopefully, because of Li and good news. But, it will climb. The same folks that are Poohooing now are the same ones that whined in late 2015 when it dropped to 6 cents. It was a great time to buy. Climbed to 44 cents on September 19, 2017. Didn’t stop the Poohooers - they were still whining about it. I have a feeling if this takes off again toward dollarland those same folks will still be preaching doom and gloom- wonder why?
Pure elemental Mg. Not Mg that is alloyed or already oxidized.
Awesome.
Put an order in to buy at 0.099 about 3 pm and couldn’t find any takers. Always buy when there is blood in the streets. GLTAL! Will do so again tomorrow if someone wants to lighten their load.
This is very true. I have worked in the Metallurgical field for almost 30 years. Everything from BeCu, BeAl, BeNi and non-beryllium alloys. Material for repeater housings on the ocean floor, alloys for cell towers, non-beryllium alloy for oil and gas exploration and alloys for computer circuit boards. Stainless steel, low alloy steels for large suction rollers used in paper mills and CuNi alloys for material used to house propeller shafts on ships and subs. Steels that are induction hardened for axle shafts in automotive, steels that are carburized for hypoid pinion and ring gears and side and pinion mate gears in differentials.
BMG’s cannot be used for much of the gearing and shafts in automotive but could possibly be used for some of the structural and electronic applications. However, we are going electric and autonomous. I believe that there may be greater demand for use or ‘need’ for BMG’s in electric. And, definitely for technology such as 5G. And, technology that we may not be aware of currently.
Why give up the long term tax break at this point? The pps will rise this year.
Negative. And, for the record, flavor-aid was served at Jonestown.
Hey, ‘Richard’, it’s mid June, remember! Don’t make yourself out to be a liar before market close on Monday June 17, 2019. Enjoy the weekend.
