Alot of knife catchers got cut this week on the E/U. And alot more to come probably.
Nevermind, I found it.
Do you have the link to that page or part of their site? I can't find it.
And that's a great sig. kiffin is a dirtbag for leaving UT the way he did.
Never played the EUR/CHF yet but will play the SNB intervention pop if it happens.
That info about Black Friday telling where the mkt. goes into EOY (End of Year) is cool. Do you think you could remember the link to it?
Cool Trendline EA. I'll give it a look.
Is MT4 available for FXCM Micro Live account users?
I thought it was only the Trade Station II platform.
That was a great explanation of Elliot Wave Theory.
Very simple, direct and to the point.
Are those MT4 indicators? And what's NINA? Sorry, I've been away from the board awhile and are not caught up on these things. I hope everyone has been doing well.
Interesting Trading style. I may give those indicators a try.
I don't think I want to mess with the Beast though. I'm not a fan of 100 pip drawdowns even if I do see profit in the end.
FXCM has a UK division
that takes US citizens. Those accounts are under UK regulation and don't have that goofy NFA new rule. Their US accounts do though.
SG,
I have an FXCM Micro account also. I think villas also has one. I do use Oanda too but I use FXCM Micro mostly. Oanda only beat FXCM on the E/U spread during the NY session from what I've seen.
BTW, I forgot what what your wife was trading so successfully. What was she doing again?
Alpari UK, that's for the info. I will give them a look. I've been looking for a backup broker.
Some say it was a delayed reaction to Bonds auction being successful. The market rallied on it too. That's what I read from some posters on the forexfactory site.
I've never tried the A/U & U/C correlation trade. I'll give it a shot in the near future. Congrats on finding that.
Congrats to SherriT calling the slapdown move in the E/U.
I think E/U breaks out. Things are strange right now and the E/U going up would be strange. ;)
E/U stuck in tight range. Any opinions on when and which way it breaks out?
daiello, That's huge! Congrats.
E/U is "strong like bull" this morning.
Thanks, ST, I appreciate the info.
ST, good swing trading plan. That 4 HR chart thing is something I need to try. I would be waking up to 100+ pip in profit this morning had I held my position from last night instead of just scalping for a few pips. I've had this happen numerous times now and would like to fix it.
SG, Wow, Congrats! How many trades did you have to make to get over 360 pips in this market today?
Might be quiet because the big move came already during the London session. We've been stuck in tight range most of the New York session. Not much to crow about for me.
SherriT, Have a good weekend.
SG, Good call. You helped me make $ by not trying to play the bounces and just stay with the daily trend, which was down just like you said.
Those OCO orders on FXCM demo are a pain.
I have the UK platform and I'm glad I switched. But now it makes it harder to go on "demo" since the platforms are now different. I use Oanda for my demo trading now.
I might also open up an IGMarkets account too as a backup. Anyone know anything about them? Good or bad? TIA
I'll give the 5 Min & 15 Min chart trading on the E/J a try also.
If it has correlation to the Dow and U/J right now it could fun for me too.
Thanks for sharing the info, villas.
SG, E/A and G/J have a nice inverse correlation by your chart.
Nice charts, Mkt Tech. Great to see those on this board.
It will be interesting to see if the U/J stops at the Fib retracement level or goes up to diaello's 98.98 or 99.77 level to correlate with it's past valuation in relationship to the Dow.
SG, Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I see what you are talking about.
I was just lured into the E/J by it's bigger movements and the potential for bigger profits. I have now witnessed the downside of that(bigger and more frequent losses) and will avoid that pair.
I will refrain from trading the E/J in the near future and stick the pairs that gave me so much success in the past - the E/U and the U/J. The immediate profits are not as big but in the longrun I make money instead of losing it.
Again, thank all of you on this board for sharing info. You folks make great contributions and impart important knowledge everyday from what I see.;)
How close do you folks keep your stoplosses? I noticed I was getting mine hit alot this week on the E/J. I might not trade that one anymore. I kept them very close (5 pips) but it seemed like they were getting hit more than they should have. It could have been due to the tight ranges, I dunno. I just know it cost me alot of money. Very frustrating.
Does it usually get better after the announcement?
This week sucked compared to July. Things were moving great with big swings. Now they stuck in tight ranges. Boring...
LOL! Is that pic from the movie "Training Gay"?
I don't think we get a bounce anymore. They seem to be selling any pops. That little headfake pop up was very weak and didn't last long. If someone blinked they might have missed it.
SherriT, I feel that same sense right now. It's like they are compressing it for big move. I just don't know which way. I'm slightly leaning towards a bounce.
Do you folks just trade the New York session only or do you trade the others also?
SG, I agree. CSCO's Earnings may pop the mkt after the bell.
villas, nice call on that retrace.
4 hour charts. Thanks for sharing that info. I just wenr live this week and got chopped up on the first day of trading trying to scalp too often and play with size too big.
Once lowered my size and played more for longer bigger swings things settled down for me and started to work. I hadnot considered 4 hour charts though.
This board is great.
