Wish AMY had access to the money that these guys have. Staying positive though and hoping that we may be on our way back up soon. Keeping fingers crossed GLTA..
The combination of Glencore and Xstrata was expected to be an acquisition powerhouse, as both have a track record of growing through deals.
Glencore announced, separately on Wednesday, it would buy Brazilian miner Vale's European manganese ferroalloys operations for $160 million, moving into the production of a key steelmaking ingredient.
"This small transaction is characteristic of Glencore's opportunistic and piecemeal M&A strategy and it marks its first foray into manganese production," analyst Dominic O'Kane at Liberum said in a note. (Reuters)
With this article one must bear in mind...
"The following companies mentioned in the interview are sponsors of The Critical Metals Report: American Manganese Inc. and Commerce Resources Corp."
A good article non the less.Thank you for posting.
Now now children let’s pick our teddy bears up and stop with the accusations. Some people have gained by this and some people have lost. It is now a waiting game, for good news and the stocks to gain ground which I am sure they will at some point. If you want to sell then sell if you want to hold your stock then hold it. There is no need for the accusations and veiled threats. No one can see in to the future it is what it is. This is not a game so how can it be over? or a case of one upmanship. I do not consider the stock market a game or my interest in AMY a game more of a hobby/interest. Some people say things aren’t over till they say it is over, well sometimes that isn’t their decision to make. So let’s be positive and cordial to one another.
Thanks for the post.
Well said..
Chippy, unlike yourself I do not believe everything Larry says. Again, I say, companies only tell their shareholders/investors what they want them to know until their hand is forced. I freely admit that I invest to make money who doesn’t??
As for “China and Europe are rattling our cage” we have our own internal problems it is not just China and Europe, I have friends in both FYI. I would like to address your comment “No one made you buy the stock “yes! you are right but I have to say that I did my research and based my buy on comments including yours “a company that may well be one of the biggest stories of our lifetime.” So may be in a way YOU made me buy? Am I gullible for believing what I read? just like you I must be.
Your words “I would encourage all the nay-sayers who are owners of AMY stock, to take half their usual time that they use to do postings, and instead HELP OUT” I did HELP OUT I talked to relatives and friends and told them what a “good investment” AMY was I just hope that they are not too mad at me because they will have lost money. Have you lost your friends/relatives money on this deal?? I will not be recommending AMY to anyone right now IMO.
I was fully aware that shares go down as well as up and I wish AMY well for the sake of their employees, shareholders/investors that are still hanging in.
Not a problem.... no disrespect was taken.
Thank you...I was merely quoting what board member "Chippy" had said. IMO I believe that this has been handled very poorly by the company and someone should own up and be accountable. Chippys opinion is not mine at all. Unlike Chippy…. and again I quote Chippy
“The answer is at your fingertips --- call them at American Manganese Inc. and they will tell you what is happening, I can assure you. No need for guessing at all -- get the right answer.”
I do not believe everything that I am told. I am always sceptical about what companies tell shareholders as they are very adept at stretching the truth and only telling shareholders what they think is the bare minimum and positive. IMO AMY had a very good smoke screen around the PFS. I feel let down by the company the “no surprises” comment was very misleading like I said in my post
“Larry’s “no surprises” comment before the PFS came out. He must have read it before it was announced to the public so in fact he did not lie as to HIM there was “no surprises” ON THE DAY, the joke would appear to be on the shareholders. I’m sorry but I do not find it very funny”
You seem to have more faith than most people in AMY’s merits at this present time and as you said in one of your posts and I quote
“A company that may well be one of the biggest stories of our lifetime.”
I agree…. but it isn’t making headlines for all the right reasons on the contrary the company have miss lead their shareholders as in Larry’s “no surprises” comment before the PFS came out. He must have read it before it was announced to the public so in fact he did not lie as to him there was “no surprises” on the day, the joke would appear to be on the shareholders. I’m sorry but I do not find it very funny as you also stated and again I quote
“I am aware of AMY shareholders who have staked their livelihoods in this stock, right or wrong for reasons we all know, this is what they have done because they believe 100% in the fundamentals of AMY. They have done their homework on a major level and have taken the initiative to back a company that may well be one of the biggest stories of our lifetime.
It would be important to understand that this is not a game; this truly is people's livelihoods, whether it is the tireless employees of AMY or the shareholders. Libellous postings or unethical statements serve no purpose. We are all in this because we believe in American Manganese Inc. and now, at a time when we will have an announcement of calibre, it would be great for all to show support in everything we say.”
NO amount of homework, and yes I did mine, prepared us for the PFS that was released I think we all thought it would be better news. At least the employees are still getting paid unlike retirees who have just a pension. As for the new staff member moving half way around the world to work with AMY I would do the same if the money was right.
I fully realise stocks can go down as well as up and this is a risk we take when investing. I truly hope that AMY will succeed, for all the shareholders sake.
I agree with you. At least it is my own money and I did not get anyone else involved with AMY. I shall hold on to what I have invested in AMY , can it really go any lower?
I agree with 2guys. I enjoy watching the stock market and have kept my stake in AMY but I have better things to do with my retirement than spend every day on the phone to AMY asking for updates. These people have a job to do and I would prefer them to do what they are getting paid for and wait till they have a direct answer and not keep stalling me. I have spoken to AMY on a few occasions and they have always been polite but I will not become a nuisance IMO.
I read the release and I understood it as you did, that the ore is primarily a carbonate ore and that the flowsheet is a straight sulphuric acid leach.

Our presidents say what they are told to say and what the public want to hear. They are hardly going to say negative things. In the same article Alan Tonelson economist of the U.S. Business and Industry Council, which represents 2,000 domestic manufacturers, says the trade complaints had "zero potential" to help domestic industries in the foreseeable future.
This is the article from the BBC that I read....

I am new to AMY.
I have just read the news from Molycorp and China ("China has set up a rare earth association in a bid to streamline the sector's development') and would like to know what other investors think the effect will be on AMY?
