re:neuro/Sassy/I hate your politics
I really do.<g>
That's OK, the feeling is mutual. <g>
BTW, you did not add the all absolving "IMHO" to your comment !!
ola/smart_sassy
I am perfectly capable of manifesting practically anything I want through "correct action" "dissemination of desire" and "initial effort". I will wait patiently for many years for the correct color FREE gabardine shirt size 17 neck...or $2.00 at Goodwill...I am very practiced at it although I haven't been able to manifest a ham and cheese/w mustard on pumpernickel yet.
Agreed, but don't you think there is a big difference between finding the perfect shirt versus how the universe was formed?
Being a manifest destinist I realize that if you call some guy a stupid idiot at a cocktail party and get punched in the nose, you brought it upon yourself. I am not "liberally" inclined to call the police and have him arrested...and they will arrest him, not me!!! Yet, I am responsible and at fault. I understand the term word "invocation" very well. I can make most anyone do whatever I want by what and how I say to them...that is in person.
Boy you should have been on this board about a month ago !!!!
People say things they would never reveal to anyone else. They also dump a lot of interesting stuff on my shoulders. I find that what you post eventually defines and describes you closely and accurately.
I think the internet is a caricature of ourselves. It is us, only exaggerated.
ola/smart&sassy
I am not aligned with any political belief/organization. Where does that leave me?
He said openly.
It leaves you not being amused to the article yet dying to respond to it while snorting coke and hanging out with prostitutes. <G>
BTW, I was reading the discussions over at the Hangout. Although I don't quite agree with your assessment of God (or the lack thereof), I do respect the fact on how you held your ground.
Now, are you really an atheist, or just a person who likes to stir the pot????
northwestern/I had hopes there for a while of a good, honest discussion, but they're fading.
Don't give up hope - this is some pretty heavy stuff you are talking about - stuff that some people have some very strong feelings about. The discussion will get ugly from time to time.
Wow, and I thought this board was just going to be a place to post jokes.....
Deep discussion going on here. I am very impressed with all of your arguments.
spalz/I hate your politics
I disagree - as a liberal, I did find the article humorous - most of it was very true - except the part about liberals, that is
paule/I’ve been fiddling…
with several different holsters for my handgun...Nothing seems to do the trick. I tried almost everything. Finally out of disgust I took the holster off the belt and duct taped it to my leg. Worked like a charm!
And your legs will be have a nice "wax job" when you go to pull the tape off. {{{Ouch}}}
Scientology and Hollywood...
While I personally think that The Church of Scientology is whacky, that anti-scientology article is just as bad.
dereleviate/Top 30 bumper stickers that you probably wont see.
I am in tears I am laughing so hard at these. The ambiguity one is the best - but maybe it isn't <g>
Good to see you here - come round more often !!!! We miss you !!
ola/smart sassy
I draw the line at biting. When I am on top of the subject however I sometimes kick everyone around me...is that OK?
Sounds like you've been reading some back posts. Getting an education about us, are you?? LOL.
You can do whatever you like. I hope you stick around. But just remember that we are a feisty crowd. You may not like to bite, but some us do.
See you 'round !!!!
ola/The Original
I see you posting elsewhere. I didn't get a reply to my posts. I don't see anyone else posting here. Comments?
It appears to me that, as you (or someone) said earlier, that it takes a while for a board to catch on. Ususally there is a flurry of activity at first, then it dies down to a moderate pace. At "the Free Zone" we have gone through many changes. There may only be one post a day, or none at all, and then, wham, a bunch in one day.
I attribute alot of this to be that one person only has so much time to post in a day. Someone may post 10 posts a day, but if they are involved in 5 boards, then each board only gets 2 posts (on average). The more boards you are involved in, them less time you spend, overall, on one particular board.
Just like in investments, you have to spend money to make money. Here, the more posts that are on a board, the more responses you'll get.
neuro/re: Sassy, congratulation on POST OF THE WEEK at PI Alt!
Oh please. I've been running circles around him for days. Your post was funny, but not as funny as mine to WEAC er Greywolf in the New Handle discussion there (note: read the entire 7 post thread to get the full effect).
Yeah, but no one gave you an award for it !!! <G>
My font size
is still the same. NOthing has changed on the board on my screen
++++
Did I hear someone play the theme song to "The Twilight Zone"?
do do do do do do do do
BTW, Sassy, congratulation on POST OF THE WEEK at PI Alt!
Thank you, dennis. Which one of my three posts did you like best? Now don't say "all of them" because they insulted wrongoff.
Personally, I liked the "note to self" one - is that it???
Sassy, have you not been paying attention the last week or so?
This happend over a week or more ago, all at once, one afternoon! It happend back on March 11, I just backed up and checked the messages.
Dennis
++++++
Honest, Dennis, it just happened today to my PC. It was the old way yesterday and today, the font is smaller. Believe me, with my presbyoptic eyes, I notice this stuff !!!
Is it me or did the font size on this board change?
this is not good for those of us bifocal wearers.
Can't we all just get along????
OK, Rodney King, I am not (nor do I want to be), but you get the gist of my statement. I been thinking all morning as to whether to post this or not.
I love all of you guys here and really want to bring this to a close. I am not good at playing the moderator, as I am rarely moderate on anything <g>
Indy - do you really think that meme is that vindictive that she would ask Matt to ban cre8? When have you ever known her to ask someone to fight her battles?
Meme - Indy has stated his position. He is basically protecting cre8's right to free speech. In protecting his right, we should allow him to do so.
8th - I don't know what to say to you. Just take it down a few notches, sweetie, you are really beginning to scare me. <G>
It is a shame that the dynamics of this board has deteriorated to this level. We have all shown sides of our personalities that are not so pretty. We are all equally to blame. Nasty things have been said. Can't we be adults and get over it? We all have real dramas in our real lives to deal with, none of us need cyber ones.
That's it - I said my peace. Beat me up if you like, although some of you may think that I would like that <g>. I'm a big girl and I can take it. I may bite back though, but then I think that some of you may like that. <g>
Was Think Alternative that much off base???
Not when you read this article:
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,48291,00.html
Looks like we all need to watch what we say
Indy/Application
P.S. Soulmate wants to submit an application to become a member of the "Alpha Bitch Posse".<G>
If she has lived with you all of these years, she needs no application. She can probably teach us a few things !! <VEG>
Sassy/Hey Megs - did you start this
What's that movie about? I am a bit behind on my oscar movies. I still haven't got to see I am Sam, BM, or In the Bedroom.
Not quite sure, I haven't seen any of the movies nominated. I think it is about parental conflict with their teenage son. He allegedly has an affair with Marissa Tomei, who is quite older than him. that is all I can tell you.
I SWEAR I have tried to go see BM like every weekend for a month. But problems kept popping up, and it never worked. I eventually just accepted that somebody didn't want me to see it any time soon.
I dunno, megs. Sounds as if Freud might have something to say about this. <G>
Sassy/Hey Megs - did you start this???
I need reminding who all is in the category, I am drawing a blank. I know there's Denzel, Crowe, Smith, and Penn, who's the 5th?
Tom Wilkinson, the guy from "In the Bedroom"
Hey Megs - did you start this???
Hehe, I wish I could take credit for it. At least I can say I am not troubled by these stories since I am a huge supporter of the Moulin Rouge camp. Besides R.C. already won an Oscar and he really doesn't need his head any bigger does he? Of course the might just give it to him anyways out of fear he might rough somebody else up if disappointed~G~
But, did you say the same thing about Tom Hanks when he won two years in a row???
I do think that the "beating up" incident really did cost him some votes. It is a shame, though. I did not see the movie, but heard that he was brilliant.
Personally, I'm routing for Denzel. The guy is a great actor.
I do hope that Ron Howard wins though - he has been overlooked for so long, I hope this is his year.
Hey Megs - did you start this???
since I know you are such a Russell Crowe fan <g>....

dpb5/Pepsi or Coke?
My preference for the record - Coke - Diet Coke to be exact.
How are things going?
megs/Re: Finally!!!!!!!!!
You sound like me when I find the "perfect" purse !!!
I have a feeling the gentlemen have not a clue as to how important something like this is....
Indy
My response did go through as a PM - check there. thanks
meme/What do you want out of this board?
I say, let's just keep it as it is and see what else it evolves into.
If someone wants to talk politics, let them.
I do enjoy the closeness of this board. For the most part, I consider you my friends and enjoy the banter. Catty sometimes - sure, but who cares? Like I said before, I have to be an adult in my real life, I like to be childish sometimes here.
But, what I would like most right now, is for Indy to come back. Where have you been? Only one post in about 2 weeks? C'mon, I miss the comments - I am in withdrawl. I don't have time to read every post at PI, but I do here. I miss your wit and charm !!!
dennis/Tell ya what, WEAC...
Why don't you wait until Friday, and then, there being no objections posted by then, YOU send him the link, okay?
Dennis, if you are going to be this gun-shy about this, then I suggest that you don't think about inviting anyone for a while.
I don't know how much more simple I can say this, but
I DON'T CARE..........
dennis/Perhaps for the benefit of the WOMEN I should have made myself more explicit!
A simple YES OR NO will suffice: should I send Terraflamma the frickin' link or not? And don't give me any of this frickin' "I dunno..." crapola, okay, ladies? Having almost lost the family jewels once in the last month over a misunderstanding about what people mean when they say, "Hey!Do what you want!", you can understand how I might be a little leery about it this time.
But Dennis, we WOMEN all know that you are going to do what you want, anyway. <g>
But, I really don't care. I don't particulary like his novels - well I can't say that - I very rarely read his posts. So, you can invite him as far as I am concerned, because I don't read what he writes.
Are there any objections to giving Terraflamma the link?
I dunno, does this site have enough memory for his posts? <g>
Does the man know the definition of the word "succinct"?
WEAC/Re: Meme-Is it possible to O.D. on scantily-clad women?
Is it really that pervasive in your thought patterns? And do you all mentally picture women you meet naked? Does the perfect bend-over to pick something up, charge you? Or are these all just over-played stereo types of men?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I've heard the same thing. I don't know about every two or three seconds, but yes, we do have a tendency to think about it - particularly when presented with an attractive woman. It was much more pervasive when I was younger, though. WHo knows, maybe when I've been on my own again for a while, it will be again.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Maybe it is just me, and the fact that I have been single all of my life, but I tend to think of sex a lot as well. It certainly isn't every 2-3 seconds, but it is often.
I don't necessarily think it is a "guy thing" anymore. It is just that women were not supposed to think of sex as fun for so long. Maybe it wasn't so they did not think about it because they did not like it (God forbid). But in current times, I bet it is pretty close as to who thinks about it more.
OK ladies, am I different? 'fess up. Tell me how often you think about sex???
Some Irish humor
Two leprechauns approached a convent in Ireland. The one would knock on the door and say:
"Beggin' your pardon, sister. But prey tell, do ya have any nuns as tall as me and my friend here?"
"Ah, no, my lad", the nun would reply, "we surely do not".
The leprechauns left that convent and proceeded to every other convent in Ireland. At each convent, the same response would be given. As they knocked on the last door, they were saddened that, one more time, the answer would be the same.
After they left that last convent, the one leprechaun looked at the other and said: "See, I told you you've been fucking a penguin".
To help those in need.....
Dear kind-hearted friend,
Now that the holiday season has passed, please look into your heart to help those in need. Enron executives in our very own country are living at or just below the seven-figure salary level... right here in the land of plenty. And, as if that weren't bad enough, they will be deprived of it as a result of the bankruptcy and current SEC investigation.
But now, you can help! For only $20,835 a month, about $694.50 a day (that's less than the cost of a large screen projection TV) you can help an Enron executive remain economically viable during his time of need. This contribution by no means solves the problem, as it barely covers their per diem... but it's a start! Almost $700 may not seem like a lot of money to you, but to an Enron exec it could mean the difference between a vacation spent sucking ass in DC, golfing in Florida or a Mediterranean cruise. For you, seven hundred dollars is nothing more than rent, a car note or mortgage payments. But to an Enron exec $700 will almost replace his per diem.
Your commitment of less than $700 a day will enable an Enron exec to buy that home entertainment center, trade in the year-old Lexus for a new Ferrari, or enjoy a weekend in Rio. HOW WILL I KNOW I'M HELPING? Each month, you will receive a complete financial report on the exec you sponsor. Detailed information about his stocks, bonds, 401(k), real estate, and other investment holdings will be mailed to your home. You'll also get information on how he plans to invest his golden parachute. Imagine the joy as you watch your executive's portfolio double or triple!
Plus upon signing up for this program, you will receive a photo of the exec (unsigned-for a signed photo, please include an additional $50.00). Put the photo on your refrigerator to remind you of other peoples' suffering.
HOW WILL HE KNOW I'M HELPING?
Your Enron exec will be told that he has a SPECIAL FRIEND who just wants to help in a time of need. Although the exec won't know your name, he will be able to make collect calls to your home via a special operator just in case additional funds are needed for unexpected expenses.
YES, I WANT TO HELP! I would like to sponsor an Enron executive. My
preference is cked below:
[ ] Mid-level Manager
[ ] Director
[ ] Vice President (Higher cost; please specify which dept)
[ ] President (Even higher cost; please specify which department)
[ ] CEO (Contribution: Average Enron janitor monthly salary x 700)
[ ] Entire Company
[ ] I'll sponsor an Exec most in need. Please select one for me.
Please charge the account listed below ___________ per day and send me a picture of the Enron executive I have sponsored, along with my very own Enron "Keep America Strong Sponsor an Enron Exec: Ask Me How!" t-shirt to wear proudly.
Your Name: _______________________ Telephone
Number:_______________________
Account Number: __________________ Exp. Date:_____ [ ]MasterCard [ ]Visa
[ ]American Express [ ]Discover
Signature: _______________________
Mail completed form to "The Invisible Hand" or call 1-900-2MUCH now to enroll by phone. Note: Sponsors are not permitted to contact the executive they have sponsored, either in person or by other means including, but not limited to, telephone calls, letters, email or third parties. Keep in mind that the executive you have sponsored will be much too busy enjoying his free time, thanks to your generous donations.
Contributions are not tax-deductible.
meme/Is it possible to O.D. on scantily-clad women?
Man, oh man, I've been looking for good models for my drawings and everytime I close my eyes now, I have visions of semi-nude women!
What the hell are you drawing, woman?? I don't want to be parading around half naked - I have my dignity, you know. <g>
dpb5/Immaturity, Ignorance, Arrogance, and a General Holier-Than-Thou-Attitude
Just who the hell do you think you are to post a bunch of garbage like that??? (Is that what you mean?) <VEG>
I do believe that many people who post on the Internet are more "vocal" then they would be in "real" life. It gives someone the chance to post their viewpoints and not be damned, or praised for them.
We are still infants with regards to the Internet. It is almost like the cavemen times - when they wanted someone, they beat them over the head with their club. We are still at that point - I think it will take some time for the social mores of the world to be applied to Message Boards.
8th, Did you pose for this?
Damn....those must of been killer Margaritas.....!! Nope sorry, Dennis, wasn't me. Kinda looks like.....Joan Collins! I may be wrong....but I think that Sassy...may be more bounteously emdowed.....>g<
The margaritas weren't that good !!!
Nope, not me. I have short, blondish hair, although a few other of the characteristics are similar <g>. I agree about looking like Joan Collins, though.
However, she has a nice set of legs. Possibly Meme??????
Historic Truth-in-Taxation Hearing Exposes Government
Well WEAC, with Spalz gone for a while, you have some company on the libertarian points of view <g>
rogue/You supply the jacuzzi, I'll supply the tequila
Hell no, the tequila is what got me into trouble in the first place !!!!
I must spend too much time here....
because I actually had a dream about you guys last night. I dreamed that I had a party for all of my cyberfriends. It was at my house and we all hung around the jacuzzi and ate and drank. The funny thing is - I don't have a jacuzzi.
With the exception of meme, I don't know what any of you look like, but I specifically can recall what I think you look like.
Anyway, I remember meme, 8th, WEAC, Dennis and Indy being there, along with your significant others (I don't know what they look like, either). For what it is worth, we had a great time. <g>
I don't know the meaning of this, but I am going to consider getting that jacuzzi <g>
meme/Re: Should mathmom get the link to here?
Nobody ever responded to my suggestions about Cali and Leisure Christ. What say ye all?
I don't have a problem with that. I know that someone mentioned skep - I don't have a problem with him/her, either.
Rogue - what do you think about whatmeworry or bez. I think that both of them would be great here, but get the impression that they are only interested in a board with more activity. (and what name is berg using these days?)
Anyone have a problem with those guys?
