Thanks, JoseSD! I hope you don't mind - shared with credit to you on ST . . . so long as the post remains as sometimes they remove posts to external links
I would expect an acquisition or something big which is completely unexpected such as a partnership or cell update. Could be dreaming though . . .
Volume is the story today - over 4 million shares traded before noon - which accounts for approximately 27% of Float.
Volume so far today would be over 100 million shares pre-split
Still counting on more news Thursday/Friday - IMO
Absolutely! July 24th was a HUGE news day in 2014 (stellar Q2 report, Completion of working third and final 3D cell prototype)
Q2-2014 ER was released three weeks early (July 24th).
Last quarter we had a new accounting firm so they likely have other clients to juggle in order to finalize the report.
However, having said all that he does tend to wait until the last minute most quarters so point taken . . .
Nice chart and analysis - thanks!
Have you noticed that SLTD tends to have a "Delta Resistance" of $0.25 since the R/S? PPS often rises up $0.25 and then backs away from it as though it is being limited in some way.
There were some days with strong news where it acted the same way around $0.50.
Minus $0.25 often acts as support as well . . .
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this and whether there are any theories, etc.
It could have been related to the R/S ratio which is near 25 as well as the preferred MM transaction sizes but it is an effect I have noticed.
Still long . . . IG
Anything is possible but I believe the shares were in exchange for tangible legal services. If I recall correctly, Mr. Richardson actively supported the SUNWorks acquisition - for example - as well as numerous other events in the past . . . All just IMO
Solar3d closed at $4.35 on June 3rd, 2015 (source: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=SLTD+Historical+Prices )
The report was pretty awesome but will look even better after Q2 when the earnings go positive IMO. Thanks for sharing RV8 (with an assist by alex)
The report does have some fundamental errors as a result of the recent RS:
Revenue Growth: 2268% (um, no)
Top Executive Holders: Shows Abe alone having $90 million in SLTD which should be divided by 26 (as well as some minor recent "adjustments").
Even SLTD itself had at least one bad calculation - based on a similar oversight - in their Fact Sheet published a couple of months ago.
I can't wait to see this report after it is updated some time after Q2 results are available . . .
Long SLTD!
There's still time - it's pretty early in Fresno . . .
I'm expecting a profitable quarter as well - possibly exceeding $0.10 PS.
From memory - Q1 was around $1 million net before one-time fees on ~ $5.5 million revenue. Double the revenue could yield $2 million net . . .
Yes - it would have been awesome to get in on Monday. I've been watching RGSE fall for at least six months and it looked like a really good (haha) speculative play at $2.50.
Long SLTD . . .
I wish I had some RGSE today but SLTD still has a much larger Market Cap
Thanks, Bucky! Good solid information which shows that we currently are a bit undervalued IMO.
True enough - earnings are key.
Valuation is another interesting topic - how can you value a company based on revenue if it doesn't have positive earnings? What is an appropriate multiple for SLTD based on revenue, base on earnings, etc.?
Fortunately, we have something called free-enterprise in our stock market (NASDAQ) which will determine the appropriate multiple and PPS for us automatically over time.
I just happen to disagree with the market's current valuation . . . SLTD - to the moon!
The way I like to look at it is that SUNWorks was said to have roughly $8.5 million in revenue for 2013 prior to their purchase by Solar3D.
However, annual report revenues for 2014 - of which all were attributed to SUNWorks - were slightly higher than $20 million.
That is clear evidence of large growth within one operating division.
I believe you provided an excellent example of Year over Year revenue numbers.
Quarter over Quarter would be a comparison of 2014Q4 vs. 2015Q1, for example. If I recall correctly - we actually had a very slight QoQ revenue increase in the last quarter but it was so close that it easily could be considered "flat" . . .
Still . . . Long SLTD! GLTAL
Yes - it is hard to believe that the cell didn't factor into their decision at all. Maybe they talked about the cell - and they trusted JN - but didn't actually see the cell . . .
Being acquired by a public company has some cachet but they had to see great potential in something else as well such as the cell or perhaps the overall growth by acquisition strategy.
Q2 quarterly report is due 45-days after June 30th (end of Q2)
Amen TJS - great post - we will have our days but will strikeout almost every time when we point to the stands and try to call our shot.
But on the other hand, Jim is in NYC, where things like that have been known to happen . . .
GLA tomorrow! Long SLTD
Also, it states "Award Pending" in the upper right-hand corner of all pages
Hey Sprech - definitely see your point . . . I'm going to trust that we have the right people engaged to address the patent issues as they see fit.
For the sake of the CC, I would tend to ask about the status of OUR patent instead of focusing on a patent that we think may be in our way . . .
The thing about the 440% YoY increase from Q1-2014 to Q1-2015 is that only a portion of SUNWorks income was included in Q1-2014 since the acquisition wasn't finalized until approximately one month into the quarter.
So, while impressive - it really doesn't provide a good direct comparison. Revenues clearly increased significantly YoY but not quite at that clip in reality as far as I'm concerned . . .
FYI - on another board, iHub poster maverick1856 identified that the initial Matsushita/Panasonic patent actually expires 1100 days after initially thought due to delays in the approval/appeal process.
Also, buckylaw06 has covered this recently on this board as well: http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=113095229

This brings up a good point though - why not consolidate all acquired installation companies under one overall brand - with one overall sales, marketing, delivery strategy (which would include website - customer referral and monitoring systems, etc.)
Those are common overhead items which can be leveraged in order to drive down overall costs . . .
Thanks stocks_general - and good DD either way! It is a little better than I thought but still am not totally convinced. At least it says "Bid Results" and only lists MD Energy. I would expect the winning bid to be under the Awards tab at some point.
Raznic - my interpretation is the same as yours - MD Energy clearly submitted a bid. However, the question is whether or not is was the WINNING BID?
Last year's Q1 - May 15th, 2014: http://www.solar3d.com/view_news.php?Id=80
Great replies Sprech and Raznic - thank you!
I would expect a cell that produces 250% more power, in the same footprint, to be capable of selling at a premium over existing cells . . .
What wasn't clear to me was what exactly is the "obstacle" to manufacturing? SPWR makes their own panels so their obstacle wasn't finding a manufacturing partner. The obstacle must be something technical which they have a problem with as well . . . Long SLTD
Yes all indications are that SUNWorks is growing. They recently have opended up operations in Nevada and they also had record monthly sales in March:
