Well, okay...I won't post anymore. Sur at .8 Ask=.85. I won't be back. jrg
What...there are no gurus here anymore....are they selling? If Rennie and Alicia own about 13 million shares...are they calculating profit today??....naw. Am I excited?? Am I buying more???...you bet!!!!!!! jrg
SUR at .73. Are we going up? Can you spell "Green"? Am I excited??? Naw...Should I buy more???? What say you gurus????? jrg
With a valiant effort and despite the slow brokerage I managed to buy some more at .7. jrg
Stockhouse is slow and I cannot even get into my online brokerage to buy more. Oh well, Rome was not built in a day....there is always tomorrow. What say you SUR fans. jrg
Does anyone know what Charters is talking about?. Could be today's news release from Sur American, but he does not say that. Seems like he was in kind of a hurry to post. Do I ever do that??.....naw!!!! I think the Sur news is great and with 50 holes planned in total we are going to have lots of news and a lot more results in the coming weeks and months. Step up to the plate Eric and invest your dollars....after all, has a Little Long Lac Gold Mines youngster ever given you bad advice??? jrg
Bid/Ask now at 68/69. Is it going higher?....does it snow in winter in Canada?? Is Sur American at the PDAC??? Where is everybody???? I'm here....Might as well go and buy some more. jrg
Okay, so everybody is over at Stockhouse...that is okay....Can we buy more??......go for it. jrg
Bought more at .68. So where is everybody...not selling I hope. Are we excited?.....naw, not me. jrg
..........60cents...........huh? So why has it not traded up more?? Looks like a great opportunity to buy more. So that is what I intend to do right now. jrg
Looking good boys and girls....are we getting excited?....have not even had time to see where it is trading....are we excited??....did I say that already???.....where is it going to trade to today????....I do not know......are we excited????? jrg
Easy now guys!!! We have come this far knowing a fair bit about the chances at success/failure, etc. These things take time. Think about the tremendous investment the principals of Sur American have in this enterprise...think about the steady stream of information we have had....think about the size of the property....think about the area, its potentials being at a hot spot in the Ring of Fire....think about the other great gold deposits in the area....and think about what we shareholders are going to buy when they hit as they are going to. jrg
And I thought the last post heading was a SUR press release. Oh well, there will be one soon. jrg
It has been a long correction in the precious metals bull market and such corrections are supposed to be long and deep (this one, since December 2003 is now starting its 24th month). SUR is down, but so is almost every other company....many of them 50% retracements and more. I own about 50 of them, so it has been pretty bleak for me, but I am confident the bull will soon resume and then we should be able to sit back and have some fun. Can't wait for those SUR drills. jrg
Great news keeps coming from Sur and the mineralized area keeps getting bigger. I like how Rennie is running things especially the involvement of local peoples. Cannot wait to see the first drill results; something to look forward to in November besides hunting whitetails. This could be a big winner for those of us holding shares. jrg
A little weird having a story (announcement) concerning production when no drilling results have been announced. Can anyone elaborate or explain this a bit? Thanks. jrg
Oeo200: You should link this post to Silicon Investor ("Ride the Tiger" thread) so "Ralph-Emerson" (Philippines hater) can learn something. Thanks again. jrg
The appointment of Nigel Maund to SUR management is a great step forward, I could not be more pleased with this announcement. Slow and easy, but competant and planned....has been SUR's approach. Cannot wait to see some of the drill results. Will this be my first big home run???? jrg
Thanks Eric for coming in and responding to my questions. In the meantime, Rennie has gone to the trouble to respond to me personally as he has done before.....I have come to trust him and have always appreciated his almost immediate responce to my questions. The current drilling results will answer a lot of my questions. By the way, I still cannot get back into Silicon Investor just because I let out the first name of "Emerson" and cited some of his posts from Stockhouse on SI (who also kicked me out); amazing to me that "Emerson" has such pull; I know he complained in both situations (I wonder why he is so worried about his name becoming public?). Apologies to other posters and readers here for this off-the-topic stuff. jrg
REPLY FROM RENNIE BLAIR:
John,
Just to clarify this issue.
Yes the top 100 metres or so of Batoto appears to be oxidised (but also well mineralized-which is wonderful because its soft and easy to extract and also has great metallurgy) to some degree -as per the paragraph near the bottom of thelast NR.
"The top +/-100 metres of the porphyry is usually highly oxidized but still contains widespread remnant quartz veins and iron oxides that appear to be former pyrite and chalcopyrite. Little work has been done at this time to ascertain the grades within this oxidized cap so the Company is currently driving two tunnels into the zone from the original old Santa Fe logging road where the West Zone was first discovered".
However the area where the bulk sample over 150 metes was taken completely in fresh porphyry.
I'll see if i can download a picture of the oxidized zone and one of the fresh (primary) zone for you.
Cheers
Rennie
By rereading some of the recent pressreleases, I see there is an "highly"-oxidized cap, but that the 50-tonne bulk sample was taken from exposed "fresh"(I have never seen this term used before and I follow about 100 gold exploration companies)rock below the cap. I also note in one release that the cap would have higher gold values than those found below (this seems to be born out by high earlier values such as 390 grans per tonne etc,....and the value of 3.2 grams per tonne in the bulk sample). So, will the drilling now apparently underway provide more cap information or underlying rock information or both?? As an example, Anatolia (ANO)(which I also own)today announced drill results from their Copler property where they drill selectively for cap gold values and supergene copper values etc. How about someone here giving us an idea as to what Rennie is targeting on the present drill program. Cheers, jrg
Okay.....I assume (not being a geologist) that "fresh quartz diorite" is NOT a part of the oxidized cap....is this correct?? You see, it is not just whether people read the newsreleases fully or not......in fact, I read the release about 5 times already......,but I am not a geologist. Is there an oxidized cap?? If so, etc.......can we not talk about the sampling results a little bit more especially in relation to where they are to each other? I still believe that compared to other exploration companies the SUR website is very poor. Why have one at all if you expect potential investors to use it for decision-making (investment) purposes. jrg
I am thinking of buying more soon. Now, to the issue at hand. I intend to go through SUR's news releases today to find pertinent information that is not on their website (in order to post and answer questions a lot of posters have been asking such as Canuck Dave who recently asked somewhere if SUR really has the goods)....which brings me to the purpose of this post.....why is there not more up-to-date info on the website?????? Surely, every prospective investor will visit SUR's website before making the decision to buy shares....yet, there is very little on the website other than the newsreleases themselves....so how many new investors are there going to be based on the website??? What I would like to see discussed here on Ihub is the various sampling results in relation to where they were taken and to each other. Are all samples from the oxidized cap?? Is this latest bulk sample from the oxidized cap??, etc. Okay, also I have been adding to my SUR thread on Coach's site daily (www.smartinvestment.ca). Can we get a discussion going here using the sampling data from SUR in their various releases and discuss their implication to the deposit and the upcoming drilling?? I see little value in reading most of the posts including those here on Ihub when they are are just personal communications rather than in-depth anyalyses of the sampling. Do not mean to be critical as this is the best place to discuss SUR....but, let's make it better. jrg
Rennie Blair response to jrg post. I received an email from Rennie in response to my post here. He stated that the bulk sample did not follow a vein and literally cut through thousands of veinlets and veins. I think this is really fantastic news and those people selling their shares today for 75 cents or so are very foolish. It is also really good to see that Rennie is monitoring our posts here and I hereby invite Rennie to come in and join the conversation once in awhile; many other company representatives do so on Stockhouse and elsewhere. How goes the drilling Rennie??????????? jrg
Toasted2, StreetGeorge et al. Just back from a trip to Newfoundland and have just read the latest NR. One question that keeps burning in my mind since yesterdays release is....was the 50-ton sample taken entirely from the vein....and, if so, are the results typical of the surrounding rock?? Additionally, if the sample is from a vein, how can T2 or anyone else use these results to calculate a deposit value without knowing what percentage of the deposit is made up of similar veins?? I have held SUR shares for a long time and am just trying to understand the deposit more. Would appreciate anyone jumping in here. Do we have anyone with geological training here....who could compare this deposit to others?? Thanks and go SUR. P.S. I note a Rocket Red "KaBoooooom" on Stockhouse today....does this mean he is selling???? Think not. jrg P.S.2....I was officially "screeched" in Nfld and have the certificate already proudly on the wall. jrg
