I am the one holding the concreted piece that is part of the ships rigging...I definitely want to go back! Capt Billy needs some gringos to talk to.
You need to go out and look again before stating this. The looters are smart and inventive and can purchase used equipment or make their own to find your heritage through the "overburden" that a passing storm front might just remove.
Please post that document. If you say that you can't, why did you mention it?
I don't know if anything is going on, but nobody is selling. I tried to pick up a few more million...only got 800k. If anyone would like to sell at this price...I will take them off your hands.
darn it, nobody wants to sell at this price, oh well I guess I will have to put my money where my mouth is.
Become an diver, go diving with Capt Billy and crew. They are the ones in the picture at the top of the page. The normal DR Navy inspector isn't pictured, the one in camouflage...on a boat...is the other inspector. Having spent the money to go diving with them, as well as invest in the company, I know what is happening in the DR and several other countries across the Americas. The UNESCO people are trying to bribe there way in and keep everything "in situ" or on the bottom so that archeologists can come back later and say they found things by themselves and then the shiny things go to the country. Hopefully the DR government realizes that this isn't a winning play due to the fact that very few countries and even fewer universities pay people to dig things up and write papers on whatever they dug up and want nothing in return. With the contract Deep Blue had, it was a winning arrangement, the company was happy with the percentage, the country had first pick of unique items and culturally significant items, however the company would then be compensated for the extras that the DR kept. So spend a little, take a vacation, go visit some officials in the DR, ask them nicely to sign the contract and let Capt Billy and crew get ready for next year's dive season...or if they can get in the water this year, so much the better. Having seen what comes up from those sites...I am still an investor...and have added more stock when able. But don't take my word for it, do your own research, go visit, ask your own questions. I hope the DR goes through with the division, because if my research is correct, I will be able to take vacations whenever I want to as soon as the DR grants another contract.
jrf30 and neb, thank you both for bringing up pertinent information on this forum regarding numbers and expectations. If the UK investors read this, I would also like to thank them, as has been previously mentioned, for their stepping in and providing last year's operating capital. To the rest of the shareholders, we wouldn't be eight years old without you...I have been investing in this company since .10 not as long as some, but longer than others.
Capt Billy keep working hard, to quote Mel, "Today is the day!" Well, every day you are on the water can be that day.
Best of luck,
Sommy
I dove with them last year. Yes they did recover treasure.
The crime rate on the north shore is much better. The previous times I stayed there I had no issues feeling unsafe. Having a local guide (translator) helps even more as they can get you even better deals on the tourist places.
My two cents on how UNESCO is going to screw up a great thing...they wave a loan in front of the government, could be for infrastructure could be for anything, but the government must not allow treasure hunting to continue as part of the deal...hopefully the ministers and persons that are in the right positions see that they could make more than a $400 million US loan could bring them.
Where did my number come from? From a little birdy that said the same thing happened in the Bahamas.
People like dr. Neyland think they own everything and it's only acadamia's right to conduct and publish the research. Capt billy, keep doing your research and I want the second copy off the presses regarding your salvaging exploits.
Rips off? I do not think it means what you think it means.
So we have a battle going on here between those that are pro-company (capt billy and crew, while being anti-nethers) and anti- Blum (while being pro-nethers).
I don't know who this nethers family is, but reading both sides, I feel that whatever they have touched turns to dust. On the flip side I see a showman that did some illegal trading, some underhanded attempts to get more money...but he has kept deep blue afloat for seven years. He got his fine.
What else is going to come to light in the future about both of these less than desirable parties? I don't know, but I the mean time, capt billy, good luck and start bringing up the shiny stuff!
Florida Institute of Technology hosts Robert Marx, renowned underwater archeologist and deep sea explorer, to lecture on “The loss of the Maravillas,” Friday, April 25, 2014. The free lecture will be held on campus in the Gleason Performing Arts Center at 6 p.m
I will be there...for the educational aspect.
I went diving with them in June. My picture is in the ihub intro holding part of the ship's rigging that we found while diving with the magnetometer that I provided 2 years ago. What say you?
Prove there is no diving going on.
You made the accusation, you state your "evidence" of where DPBE found the "stock" photos. I dove with the crew, my picture is posted for all to see holding a piece of the ship's rigging (its in the intro section). I am stating as fact those pictures are from DPBE from the north shore of the Dominican Republic in DPBE's contracted area. The Navy inspector is the same one as I met before.
I agree with jrf, pewter is still valuable. I would prefer gold, silver, and cannon, however, history and knowledge are important too.
Would a Captain in the Marine Corps be legitimate? I was, got out, and yes I have seen the treasure that Capt Billy and crew have brought up.
Please post pictures.
Nebula, that is a good cross section of pros and cons.
Good job Capt Billy and Crew! Keep up the good work.
Burden of proof is with whomever makes the first claim
can you explain your dating technique of the coins that DPBE has found?
Hey nebula, that grapnel anchor looks like it is deeper than the area we have been working in. There is vertical growth of sea life, the normal waves would have killed that stuff well before it grew that much. What is your guess as to how far offshore that is? My guess is greater than 40 feet of depth. And 400 meters off shore. Based on my reading of other wreck site books, yes it would point towards the ship, depending on if only one side grabbed it could be 20 degrees off the opposite side of which it grabbed. Go Capt Billy, one step closer.
Not much was said about the cave last two times i was there. I was paying attention to the work being done under the water.
Capt Billy, and other investors when there.
The Nautical Archeology of Padre Island: The Spanish Shipwrecks of 1554 (Studies in archeology) by Barto and Weddle. Is a great book with artifacts from the same era. Page 321 has a great drawing of what was found right before the anchors. From the pictures in the InfoBox, you can see navigational dividers page 254; the iron pyrite mirror page 288. This shipwreck the crew is currently on is amazing with artifacts coming up that can be positively identified within a certain era. Go DEEP BLUE!
I was there, i verify the authenticity and location of where the coins pictured came from.
zdiver, I still have more than 1% of authorized shares, and have not sold any shares since purchase, yes I will be purchasing more.
Yes that picture was me, widows peak and everything.
Historic is an understatement. Iron Pyrite mirror, jade figurines, silver splash discs. All pointing to the same era as the Padre Island wrecks...the recovering archaeologists of those ships put up a museum in Corpus Christi TX, I have been there and enjoyed every bit...personally we have found more here in the DR than they did in TX.
A simple camera...aka point and shoot...with an underwater case.
dj_ponder, I believe you are combining Burt and Tracy and mixing opinions up between the 2 very different men.
To the glass half-empty type people, I am heading down to go diving in a few weeks, would you like me to hold up certain numbers in the pictures to verify that they are current? To be specific one hand can have the number 0-5, the other if not holding something, can do the same.
Trueblue, that will be me...well not being on the beach, but diving with the crew in a month.
Excellent post, ExBex also brings up valid points, I see documents...but no signatures.
Also I believe the arguement was not about being an officer in the company, it was about being a director, which Capt Billy has been proven he is not a liar and not a director.
Nice recap, please keep your viewpoints coming.
GREAT post, well written and with substance.
Now to discuss the future of this company.
1.Location, Location, Location, wow do we have prime hunting grounds. 40 miles of hostile hurricane blowing, shipwreck producing shoreline. What are the figures for how many ships never made it back to the old World?
2.Desire and Drive, Capt Billy is working his @$$ off, in the water whenever he can be, and keeping the crew moving forward, leaving no stone unturned...ok its a sand lake, so no sand lake undredged.
3.Proven shipwreck areas, in the report from Alejandro, there were 12 with debris from ships. The alldeepblue.com site had discussions on it about several more that were identified after the report came out. While my favorite one is the Playa Preciosa site, a half mile west...is another site...with another site three quarters of a mile from that. Darn that potential is really high.
4.Darn CEO with SEC and legal issues, he got us this far...either in spite of what he did, or because of it.
5.Poor communication with investors, non-existent currently.
So you could lose all the money you invested in this company, or you could profit from it, your choice.
xbex, you usually have a clear head with common sense, what do you think are the pros and cons of this company?
Great job on continuing to find things Capt Billy!
I will be posting pictures of my dives with the Crew as soon as I am able to in the states. I am getting really excited about seeing the wreck areas and using a few calories underwater.
Sommy
CB, Does the finding of wood near/under the iron wreck keep in line with the amount of concretion on the coins and other artifacts as having been exposed about 90 years? ie did the iron wreck hit the other and spread artifacts into the sand lake? What would the impact pattern look like and would the rip current take a lot of artifacts with it? If the rip current did take a lot of stuff from the original impact and a possible second impact from the iron ship, what is the direction of the secondary current that is outside the reef?
