Yeah, Bob. Just let the board sit here, please, even if little to nothing gets said on it for the time being. Maybe at some point we'll be glad to have it. If it's no work for you, it seems to me good to just let it be till then.
Bob, I would leave it up and check it maybe once a week. I think it's good to have the board here.
Hi, Bob.
You are quite right. This is a capitalist board, run by you, the capitalist who started it. Anyone wanting a "soviet people's republic" board can go to China and start their own.
Bob, it is not my goal to make enough from my investment in TRBI to live the rest of my life in retired status! LOL! I will be happy if I make back anything close to my original investment! LOL!
But YES, certainly we want to see TRBI be as successful as possible! No doubt! And no reason to argue here on this board.
Whew! Those financials! STILL dropping and STILL more bad news to come! FRE ended at 46 cents today! FORTY-SIX CENTS! Who, except for the few who might have been privy to the terrible mess so many financial moguls were making of things, would EVER have supposed we'd see Freddie Mac at FORTY-SIX CENTS? And Fannie Mae closed at around 75 cents! Lehman Bros? $3.65! Citigroup? $17.96! Merrill Lynch? $17.05! Even Goldman Sachs has plunged from a high of $250 to $150.
I am not getting anywhere NEAR the financials for now. We ain't done yet---not by a long shot!
All this is to say, with regard to TRBI(and the other spin-offs)---that it could very well be a good, long time before we see real fruit from our investment. No matter. The shares are just sitting tucked away in my portfolio... Que cera, cera...
I am glad to see some conversation about TRBI going on, but would greatly appreciate NOT having to read puerile verbiage like "b__ched me out" when I come here. "Got angry with me" would do just fine, and would not drag the conversation through the gutter.
Thank you.
I believe "the love of money is the root of all evil," and certainly the idea of making money because a company's stock tanks gives rise to efforts by the unscrupulous to try to hurt the company in order to help its share price drop.
And shorting is apparently not necessary for the health of the markets. Someone said, for instance, that there has never been any shorting in the real estate market.
It's a free country, Bob. I have done precious little shorting, but I respect those who are able to do so LEGALLY,(not naked shorting) and so to make money on the up and the down. I believe it would be difficult to impossible for folks to do options without such a thing as betting on the short side.
I have never been any good at all at shorting, but would have been great to have sold FRE short at around 27 dollars!
Freddie and Fannie - Ooch! Ouch! Ooch!!!
But at least it looks as if, with this bail-out by the gummint, we may see the very beginnings of an economic recovery...though the media generally make their call too early.
As I mentioned, derivatives and credit card debt still have yet to hit the fan...
Regulators shut failed Silver State Bank in Nevada; 11th bank failure this year
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Regulators on Friday shut down Silver State Bank, saying the Nevada bank failed because of losses on soured loans, mainly in commercial real estate and land development.
It was the 11th failure this year of a federally insured bank.
It's an excellent time to buy precious metals---gold and silver. In these very uncertain, perilous times, it is, to my mind, and in my opinion, a necessity for one to have a portion of one's portfolio in precious metals. They have, in 5,000 years of recorded history, never completely lost their value.
At the end of the Civil War, what was the difference between those southerners who put their faith in gold and silver and those who put their faith in Confederate dollars?
Hi, Bob.
For most of us, it is very dangerous to mess with the financials right now. There is still lots more mess to come. There is a phenomenon called "derivatives" that has not even hit the fan yet, and of course, credit card debt is going to bite this country on both hind cheeks one day. Both those phenomena are going to take down some Big players in the not too distant future.
Do you know that WAMU, (Washington Mutual bank) is STILL offering balance transfers at ZERO percent interest and ZERO transaction charge? I just paid off my Discover card balance of about 6500 dollars by doing a balance transfer to a WAMU credit card. It cost me NOTHING to do so, and all I will have to do for the next 6 months is make my minimum balance payment of about 130 dollars.
As the 6 months comes to a close, I will probably STILL be able to find ANOTHER credit card to which to transfer the remaining balance at ZERO percent interest, with, most likely, a cap of 75 to 99 dollars transaction fee charge, and ANOTHER 12 months to pay.
Advanta Business card is the most amazing company in the business of balance transfers. They do balance transfers at ZERO percent interest for FIFTEEN MONTHS with a cap of 75 dollars on the transaction fee!
It's CRAZY for financial institutions to still be doing this kind of thing in today's economic climate, but they are!
Warning: I am able to take advantage of these screwy doings by these companies because first of all, IF I ever had to pay off the full amount of the balance transfer, I could do so immediately with no problem. Secondly, I avoid the possibility of being hit with a TWENTY-EIGHT PERCENT INTEREST RATE for a missed payment, by IMMEDIATELY going to my computer on the day my bill arrives and making the minimum payment on line.
In any event, from all I have been told by my financial advisors, financials are not yet out of the woods by any means.
A good weekend to all!
Freddie Mac dropped 20.78 percent after hours on announcement that Government may well bail out FRE, in which case, common shareholders would be wiped out... ???
This is very good time to buy GSX, too, a low-priced gas stock that people close to me who are very up on gas and oil say could be a thirty-bagger one day. Freddie Mac... from what I hear, the financials still have a good deal more down side. But then, no one has a crystal ball...
Up 10% today---KOWABUNGA! Time will tell...
Arb, please see message 287. LOL! Same problem as before. Be careful or the market maker will turn you into "Arbo's Roast Beef!"
OTC and Big Board cannot come soon enough for me.
That is a nice one, Shepard1. Thanks.

Is the PR Firm Jorge hired earning their keep? No news might be good news, I guess. But seems like things have gotten awfully quiet.
What is wrong with this picture is the Pink Sheets, Bob. Have a little chat with Mark Wood. He is gung-ho on TRBI and the other spin-offs. Says they will eventually get more stable.
This is not an environment in which people want to be buying shares of Pink Sheets stocks---certainly not people who are not intimately acquainted with the company, the way you are.
Mark Wood says TEE EYE EM EE is THE factor on these companies.
We'll see, eh?
Thanks, kako. Good news! Best to all with TRBI~
Can you give Jorge a call to see if he can do an update as to what's going on with the company of late? Is there a news release coming out any time soon? Anything? Thanks.
Bob, have you spoken with Jorge any time lately? Any news, anything going on? Been pretty silent of late with regard to TRBI. Thanks!
One thing, among others, that I like about Jorge is that he doesn't publish "news" about the signing of "letters of intent." Too many small, pink sheets and OTCBB's make "news" out of "letters of intent," and far too often the things mentioned in those letters of intent never materialize.
I very much appreciate it that in the latest news release for TRBI, it said, "Transfer OrBit FINALIZES deal with so-and-so. THAT'S what I like to see, and so does Wall Street!
One "finalization" is worth an INFINITE number of "letters of intent!"
Oops. My mistake, or rather Ameritrade's mistake. I just took the numbers Ameritrade was reporting traded today, and reported that number. I'll be more careful from now on. Sorry. Ameritrade is not real good about reliably reporting trades on Pink Sheets stocks. Most reliable place to go is www.pinksheets.com.
Volume pretty good today--- 104,000+ shares traded.
Exactly, Bob!
Woody Allen said one time, "I would never be a member of a club that would accept me as a member."
With Pink Sheets stocks, though there are actually some people who have made tremendous money on such "securities,"(oxymoron), most people who buy Pink Sheets stocks have no good idea what they're doing. So they immediately gain the deep disrespect of the market makers, and the SEC just laughs at anyone who tries to file a claim against a Pink Sheets company or against a Pink Sheets market maker.
The OTCBB is not much better though, as far as I am concerned.
But we'll see. It's in our favor that Jorge is apparently a highly intelligent, well-credentialed, business-savvy gentleman. The talk I had with him was very pleasant indeed.
Okay, Bob, so there were trades such as you say. I ask, seriously, so what? It's the Pink Sheets. I wonder how someone becomes a market maker for Pink Sheets stocks. Seems to be a lucrative business, as the market makers would know when a stock trading at .001 was going to run to .25 cents.
Bob, what is the problem with 999 shares? I did not get your explanation about it before. What is it you suppose the market makers are doing that you don't like?
I think if one wishes to speak about TRBI's potential, one can do no better than to telephone Jorge himself, OR telephone Mark Wood, or both. Either of those gentlemen will be able to tell you as much, legally, as they can about the potential of TRBI, better than anyone else. Both are very nice guys, and will be pleased to speak with you.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT???!!!
NOW YOU TELL ME???!! AFTER YOUR COMMENTS CAUSED ME TO BUY ANOTHER 50,000 SHARES???
LOL! Just kidding, Bob...
Looks as if Jorge and Public Relations are on the job:
http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/080612/20080612005643.html?.v=1
That can't be bad, and could be very, very good!
Oh, I think they made a mistake, Bob. They shouldn't have given a trouble-maker like you a second chance! LOL! Seriously, though, I could not figure out what in the world you could have done to cause IHub to bar you from posting. Every Pink/OTC message board I have ever seen has people complaining about price manipulation. What would IHub care if someone said such a thing? And furthermore, I wondered how IHub would have read your particular message. It seems to me there are so many message boards and messages on IHub that they wouldn't be able to closely monitor all the boards and all the messages.
Now, had you been saying stuff like I saw one guy on a Yahoo board saying the other day---he was bouncing off the walls---saying stuff like, "Don't go to work on such-and-such a date! Stay home with your family! Such-and-such is going to happen on that date!" Well, then I could see IHub taking away your posting privileges. As a matter of fact, when I saw that nut case posting on Yahoo, I called my local chapter of the FBI, and they contacted Yahoo, and he disappeared from off the Yahoo boards pronto!
So, just don't go making any terroristic threats, Arbo, and you should be fine! LOL!
It was a sad thing that on that Yahoo board where that loony was posting the kind of messages I've mentioned, members were taking what he was saying as a joke. In today's climate, I don't take chances when I see stuff like that.
It's an unknown pinksheets stock. If they had a product on the shelves in the stores, (like when "Skinny Cow" low-fat ice cream was still owned by the "Skinny Cow" company, and was trading on the pinks), there might be some way of figuring why the price was doing what it was doing. But even then, more often than not, it's impossible to figure out the "why."
One of the only guys I ever knew who made good money trading stocks daily---he took in about 100,000 a year net---said to me one time, when I asked him why stock XYZ's price had risen, while stock ABC's price had fallen: "Stocks just do what they do." He had his own back-tested computer program worked out, and it was the program that took him into and out of all his trades. He traded "like a corpse," one of my friends said---with the emotions of a corpse, that is. Sometimes a particular stock would soar, and he'd be out of that stock long before it topped. But the thing was, he MADE MUCH MORE MONEY than he lost, so he never got upset that he got in at 15, let's say, got out at 40, and then the price hit 60 before dropping.
That is all to say: They ain't no tellin' why they was high volume today, Billy Joe, nor why the price rose 120%, nor much of anything as to why TRBI is trading the way it is. Perhaps Jorge knows something more than we do, but that's not at all necessarily so. Even the market makers don't know it all; they just do what they can do, according to the bids and asks they see, to come out on top.
I'm just glad to see increased volume and increased price. Let us hope Jorge is making good progress with getting the stock listed on the OTCBB, and from there to a Big Board.
Best to all!
Nice volume today, and price went UP instead of down! 140,000+ shares traded, and price ended at .35 cents.
Thanks for posting that, slowtripper. Reads nicely.
Let's just be glad this is a real company, not just a shell, with a real niche, apparently, that of the Latino community, with a real possibility/probability of going from the Pinks to the OTC. No way to figure out the MM's on the Pinks. It's their own private club.
Thanks for the posts, Bob!
Bob, are you in town, checking the board? Could you please give members a rundown of Jorge's credentials. They are rather impressive, but I forget what they are, exactly. Thanks!
Members, understand, please, that with such a small float and with such low volume, the trading and the manipulations of the market makers can cause this stock to yo-yo crazily. Right now it's at .17 or .28 or whatever. Tomorrow it could be at $2.50 or $5.00. It'll be a while before TRBI levels out.
Bob, could you please give members a rundown of Jorge's impressive credentials. It's a nice thing for shareholders to read and to know. Thanks!
