Hi Everyone, I haven't posted in a while - took some time off to see what would happen. Things look a little different now with some of the longs out and some new "faces" in. Hello to all my cyber-friends (Deann, Trish, Wacko, The "Docs", Earthworm, Cubby etc...there's so many). I wanted to find out what happened to Good Doc's fact finding mission...what did his team learn? what's his current opinion on NSDM? etc...I was just glancing thru' some old posts and saw he was in jial, but was unable to uncover why???

OK...I think I'm caught up: A2 is STILL here and is best friends with his former enemy Shizzlewhoever, USA is in jail (make up a new name and get out of there), Diamond Princess is back (YEAH - you go girl), Dr Silky hurt his back and Trish is giving him a massage and in return gets a free round of golf for four: The Silky's, Trish & Hubby ( :, Deann & Prince are doing an awesome job as usual, Earthworm is rubbing Chris's head and munching on homemade cookies (Thanks to everyone over there fighting for us), WACKO is rocking down the house, Cubby is cool but has to move from FL, Ralph3 is the king of the maps (thank you), and Good Doc always has good things to say, Nazguk rides a Harley with a diamond in the gas cap and Fickster is funny...Did I miss anything or leave anyone out??? Yesterday or the day before, someone posted something about man-made diamonds...I had read an article and posted the info (post #9205 on 1/15/04) on a company called Apollo Diamonds, it is as follows:

Read an interesting article last night in The Bottom Line...It says...A company called Apollo Diamond out of Boston (www.apollodiamond.com), holds a patent for a carbon-gas process used to make "cloned diamonds". In this process, a diamond wafer - less than 1/10th of a carat - is placed in a vacuum w/ chemical gases, where it is pressure cooked at 1800F for several days. This expierimental process can grow a gem as large as three carats! When polished and cut, the stone's color and composition are virtually indistinguishable from a mined diamond. These "diamonds" may sell for as little as $5.00 a carat!

Competition: De Beers has started sending major jewelers testing machines that it claims can distinguish between man-made and mined diamonds. Also states that sales may never materialize if mined-diamond wholesalers get the Federal Trade Commission to label the new stones "synthetic".

I thought it was an interesting read...???
