if INO has been behind the others, is this a chance to catch up and get funded?
I can't understand why INO is halted for questions (announced at the last minute before phase 2/3 started) and yet two other companies have subjects who report fairly severe effects and they continue with trials. How many people will be willing to get a vaccine that could give a fever up to 104 and possibly require hospitalization?
Lakers, Are you a vaccine volunteer? If so, how long has it been that you were treated?
maybe INO will get ahead of the others if they have a better testing design while the rushed ones failed to get the vulnerable demographics into their test group.
Lakers W: do you have anything to add to this bad news? What do you know?
other vaccines have adverse effects and don't get shut down, so why is this "partial shutdown" called for if not due to adverse effects? could it be a political reaction to cooperation with international efforts thru COVAX?
Fauci just said that soon a fourth vaccine will enter phase 3. Could that be INO?
Do you think that INO participating in COVAX will exclude them from US financial support? You would think that any vaccine shown effective would be wanted, except that the admin. said vaccine should go to all americans first.
Are you concerned about INO participating in an international vaccine program - pushback from the administration who wants vaccine only for Americans first? Also rejects international cooperation? Maybe it doesn't matter or maybe INO didn't get OWS money because they are working with other countries.
I don’t know why INO was targeted by Citron and the raft of law firms when the OTHER vaccine companies that blatantly promoted beyond the scientific and medical progress they really had were rewarded with big $$$. However, now INO is being cautious with claims but that doesn’t mean they are not working on developing a safe and effective vaccine. If so, and if they can prove it, everyone will want it no matter who they might be already committed to . AstraZeneca has a problem - if the sick volunteer had a non related illness they would know it by now- something about the trial vaccine has caused a catastrophic complication. DNA makes more sense than mRNA anyway - it always should have been the platform that OWS supported - but there could be problems with OWS support like pressure to go too fast or even to falsify data. I hope INO has the answer to the effective vaccine and that all those poor tortured monkeys did not suffer for nothing.
couldn't watch it - what did he say?
Rep. Clyburn has initiated an investigation into the financial ties that Moncef Slaoui has with Moderna and Glaxo. In light of that, it may be a good thing that Dr. Kate and Dr. Kim have been so quiet, avoiding the appearance of promoting stock, and publishing in a peer-reviewed journal. There is still one place for vaccine funding and we can hope it goes to INO. What was that european company that sold stock today and skyrocketed? Another mRNA vaccine claim and it closed about $60. Why are all the bets being placed on mRNA and no development for DNA vaccine?
another site mentioned Scott Gotleib former head of FDA supporting desuvia as a safe alternative to other pain meds - not subject to abuse. Remember when he was the one who delayed approval for a year - setting the company back and leaving it here at this pps?
where is Adam?
Hey Adam, any updates to the perfect portfolio....now that we have this fall off the cliff? anything good still going to happen here?
I ask the same question - he had lots to say about what he knows from the Philly area and friends - now disappeared! Come back and tell us more.
Yes, Pfizer is big, but their study had 45 subjects and INO had 40 -both produced binding antigens. But theirs used RnA which is unstable and hard to store - INO is DNA stored without refrigeration.
Where is the funding announcement?
andrew left
finally INO is back on CNBC headlines.
It is going to take some major news to get back on the list of vaccine developers being covered in media. Now it is Moderna and three biggies, only those four are talked about - the others are in an unnamed group. INO needs to get back on the news radar.
so lawsuits are going to drain resources from the vaccine development effort because Kim made an unfortunate remark about "3 hours" and at the time any news report of a vaccine development ran up share price on many companies. so every time investors make a bad call - buying on a run - they can sue the company? I guess so...
that article is from April, and Remdesivir only shortens recovery by a few days in patients who are able to recover - doesn't help the sickest. very old news
Test post - where is everyone this morning?
CNBC website has the video - and yes he did drop INO and said that Mrna was better. This could hurt - hope for development money to come in soon to keep INO going
Unless there is massive funding or a joint venture with a big company, INO can't do any of this work. Why is the funding going to moderna and AstraZeneca and not to INO, given that human trials are already underway? Political because of cooperation with China?
Maybe positive early results will bring in the big money that has already gone to Moderna and AstraZeneca - but the head of the vaccine task force is tied to Moderna and INO doesn't have anyone pushing for funding on the task force. Right now it is all about the funding.
I missed that on CNBC - but I heard Melissa Lee referring to Citron and expressing doubt about INO based on what Mrna did with releasing a PR without data and selling stock the next day. I was surprised at the time that she would bring up Citron but if they had Left interviewed then I guess it makes sense. If INO is successful it won't matter what any of them have to say on air.
I don't know if Mrna has a better product, but they definitely have a better promotion machine - both to raise money and to announce news that INO could have already put out but didn't.
I am not clear either. How will they decide which ones? I thought the plan would be to support many development companies - but if only 4 then it is all win for them and lose for everyone else.
At noon the task force will announce 4 vaccines to develop. If not INO then where to go from there? If they pick J and J, Pfizer, Sanofi, and Moderna then INO will be left out. Sure to pick Moderna because the connection of the board member. Big risk here.
was Dr. Kim just on CNN? I just saw the end of a vaccine segment but didn't hear the main interview.
Don't look to the earnings report - there are no earnings - look for funds coming in at the same amount that Mrna got to fund the research studies and the advanced production
Just caught the end of an interview on CNN with Dr. Broderick - did anyone see the entire thing? hope they replay it during the day today.
Bill Gates on CNN just said INOVIO and then explained what the research is and its future potential.
no one is manipulating - you guys are all flipping for a few percent profit per day and claiming to be investors. Congrats to those who can grab a daily profit on this voilitility.
Just posted: fourth quarter earnings will be announced before market on Monday March 16 according to AcelRX website
The DOD funded the development of the products.Need for field administered pain treatment when IV was not available or feasible.
refreshing to hear something sincere and positive about company leader. Hope this comes through as the solution to this virus.
what is required for them to get this money?
This may be a gamble, but if INO does come up with a vaccine that is even somewhat effective this will be a rocket. Flu shots are partially effective but at least reduce the severity of flu and a similar result will make this company wildly successful
I hope this was just a short-seller scare tactic. It sounds like INO is developing a testing plan and has a vaccine design. Who to believe?
