Great point.
What exactly do you mean by scam? They really are hesitant to write PRs, but are you saying they aren't actually trying to become a functioning airline? I mean, if they didn't have anything outside of an idea like a few years ago, I could see your point. But they did file with the FAA, they did rent space at JFK, and they did buy a plane(s). Even if were stupid enough to get duped by a fake airline, I doubt that JFK, FAA and DOT are.
I'm legitimately interested in your theory, please elaborate.
I'd be happy to call them, but honestly I don't have any specific questions. I just want to know when something is going to happen. Any suggested questions? I can call tomorrow and let you guys know what they say.
Question, Why do you think we'll have approval before the end of the year? Just a hunch, or based on something?
Here it is http://xml.10kwizard.com/filing_raw.php?repo=tenk&ipage=8510795
I don't really get what form 5 is for though, is that good news?
That's good and thanks for the info, but as far as I'm concerned, nothing has changed. There's been different kinds of incremental progress over the 5+ years I've been watching/investing in this company, and it has yet to get approval, and its pps has yet to appreciate except for a spike here and there.
Again, I hate to be negative, and like I said I just bought more shares today (so I'm def rooting for this company), but its frustrating when people keep saying that the company is "very close to approval" and yet, they never seem to get approved. I remember last year around this time, people on this board were making all kinds of predictions that approval would come in time for Thanksgiving, then xmas/NYE, then Q1 2012, etc.
Ive been concentrating on my other stocks for the past few months and have been ignoring this one for a while. I just went back and read some of your posts from the last few days, and for the most part I agree with you in the sense that people cheerlead this stock like crazy, set vague dates when "something big" is supposed to happen, and nothing really ever changes.
That said, I don't see anything dire happening either, just the same old up and down cycle. I bought a bunch more shares at .018 this morning, and im not sure yet if I regret it. Hopefully I wont. Penny stocks are risky business.
Damn why are so many shares being dumped so cheap? Ask/size-.019/464600 !!!
Wow, .039 now, what sparked this?
Reeeeaaallly hate to bring any negativity here, but this is taking so long. Don't you guys remember how confident we were that "something" was going to happen in time for Thanksgiving '11, and then Xmas '11 and then Q1 '12? Half of 2012 is almost over already and were still being told to be patient. I'm not about to sell and lose money, but how sure are any of you that this will even pay off anytime in the foreseeable future, or ever?
Again, not a naysayer, but this is just getting ridiculous.
PS, just throwing this out there, but the price 1 year ago was almost 2x what it is today at .05 per share. Where are we going to be 1 year from now?
Lol, well put.
I'd say they problem is that every time you take one down and pass it around, there are still 99 bottles of beer on the wall. Never ends...
Mr. Dmitrowsky...Mr Dmitrowsky...tear down this wall!
Day trading this stock is incredible risk for insignificant reward. If all goes to plan, approval will come within weeks (maybe a week?) and if thats on the day that you sold, you'll want to kick yourself in the face. So no, I wouldn't do it.
This is kind of a premature thought since we haven't had approval yet, but I'm guessing that we will have a large bump in the stock after approval. Do you guys think there is any reason to hold on to this stock in the SHORT TERM. I emphasize short term because obviously this stock should benefit months down the line when we have our inaugural flight and all, but is selling within days after approval a good idea?
If I'm not mistaken, insider trading is only when you give a few choice people non-public info. If you leak it to the public, I don't think that qualifies. There might be some other law against it, but I don't think it's considered insider trading.
Likely the latter. I'm sure they'll be trying to attract Russian citizens to fly via Baltia to NYC, so most likely they'll hire mostly Russian-Americans.
Udachi Vsem* (means glta to those who don't know) good stuff, you know some Russian?
That's the risk of investing my man. There's a saying in Russian, he who doesn't risk doesn't drink champagne (tot kto ne riskuet, shampanskoe ne p'et).
Good news, but are you sure its not another empty/vague promise?
Sigh... I used to anticipate $1-$2 a share based on BC's interview with Corporate Profile a few years ago, I guess its not realistic anymore... It's a little frustrating that I kept money tied up for so long, but whatever, ill stay in till the end. Thanks for the info.
When did scotrade not allow you to buy Blta? I initially bought in via scottrade in 06 with no problems.
Disregard my last question, just saw this, thanks!
Thanks for the info. Any idea how long it will take for them to approve the paperwork?
That one works. To clear it up for those who don't read Russian, Delta made a deal to fly to St. Petersburg from JFK (according to the link). They don't fly yet, and supposedly its just a preliminary agreement.
Right now there are no direct flights, you have to go through Moscow.
Your link doesn't work.
Guys, 2 questions (keep in mind, I'm 25 years old and not the most experienced investor)
1. How did you get Baltia stock certs? Did you buy them directly from the company?
2. If you're having trouble depositing them because Baltia is trading too low, why not just hold on to them at home or in a safe deposit box or something until after FAA Approval/ Inaugural flight when the stock goes up significantly?
Try Sogotrade. I don't know whether or not they'll accept them, but they have pretty good customer service and ridiculously low trade fees, its worth a try. I'm at scottrade right now, but I think im going to switch over little by little.
Agreed, thanks Deep for that info, and everything else youve contributed. Posters like you make me glad I joined this forum, up until a few months ago, I was completely in the dark about what was going on with Baltia.
Personally I don't think any private industry should be subsidized, let the best compete with each other in the free market and succeed or fail by their own product. As an investor, obviously subsidies to Trina would be beneficial, but in principal, the government doesn't do its economy any favors by helping certain companies succeed.
Trina depends on Chinese subsidies, maybe American subsidized companies do business with Trina, but at the end of the day, were more concerned with Chinese subsidies. If they increase, Trina should have nice rebound.
Too bad, I wish i could be at that meeting, but flying to NY isn't too practile this weekend. If any of you can ask for a video/audio recording of the meeting those of us who aren't going would appreciate it. If not, atleast give us a good breakdown of what they say.
If I was only hopeing for 200% I wouldn't have invested 5 years into this company :-p, Baltia really needs to reward our patiance with some nice returns.
Will there be some kind of video/phone conference for those of us that don't live in NYC?
That makes sense, thnx
I agree completely, I've been in since 06 also, and even back then BC would talk about "flying before the end of the year". It's kind of ridiculous thinking about it now since back then they didn't have a terminal, a plane, or pretty much anything else.
Awesome, but will this help Trina? Its a Chinese company, isn't Chinese government funding the key?
Just curious, but why do you say 5 months?
I'm sure they will. I know they allow you to transfer shares over from another broker, so I doubt that that would be a problem either.
I'm not sure, but I think thats because its an otc penny stock. When I trade stocks >$5 it goes through right away.
