The PM's and the miners are really -----------------------------
getting whacked today, so TARA not doing too badly. As long as the XAU doesn't get a CLOSE below 135, it's probably just another correction.
C L
Let's hope this is a repeat ------------------------------
of last Sept. If the volume cranks up, it can make big moves, in a hurry.
C L
I'm with you, bub ---------------------------------- --------
Been in it a long time and most likely be here a long time more. Most people in the equity market don't have the patience to stay with a stock long enough for the big payoff.
C L
That's one of the ugliest
charts I've ever seen. Last time it broke the 200 day simple moving average was last Sept, and then it made a huge move up.
I don't think the stochastics could get any worse:

Talked to Rich this morning
The '06 filings are in work, but the auditors still won't give him a finish date. I personally am not worried about it, he always delivers.
On Tara Minerals: the SB-2 will be filed next week. Next step is to get a CUSIP # assigned and then he will send out the certs. Probably take about 90 days to get it on the BB. Then it will trade publicly.
C L
Keep in mind ------------------------------------------------
the gold market has gotten slaughtered over the last 2 weeks. In fact, the XAU index closed below a key support area today, if it doesn't turn around around pretty quickly, you're not going to like what happens to any of the miners.
It could be worse, you could be an idiot 14 year old that plays with toy trucks.
C L
Yup, kudos to Rich ------------------------------------------
what a guy. Can't imagine how he gets all this accomplished - mostly by himself.
C L
Good deal -----------------------------------------------
Now that property is large enough to attract a bigger player. Kudos to Rich for his ongoing work.
C L
O T -- Capital Gold -------------------------------------------
This little co is close to production - a cyanide leach project, near Sonora. Volume has been rising and it appears ready to get going. Symbol is CGLD.
C L
Some really nice #'s --------------------------------
have already been reported, maybe the crowd needs more holes to be drilled off. Paramount's price action is under-whelming also, so there's still something holding back the price movement. They are up-to-date on filings, so it's not that.
C L
The area is definitely drawing some major attention now,
that can only be good for all of us. I think until abouit a year ago that everybody thought this was all fluff. Now that somre big money recognizes Mexico's future, we should see more heavies down there poking around. Majors like to buy a proven up project and then come in with the big $ it takes to put a huge operation in place.
Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see Paramount find a buyer and Rich might well go along with selling em the whole shootin match.
IMO, more patience with this will really pay off. Palmarejo went from 10 cents to 10 dollars (Cdn), with no production.
C L
The Palmarejo situation ------------------------------------
appears to be really helping the Mexican sector. Garibaldi is having a nice day also:
http://www.tsx.com/HttpController?GetPage=QuotesViewPage&DetailedView=DetailedPrices&Languag...
C L
Chart is looking ----------------------------------------------
much improved. The Chaikin Oscillator has turned up and that's a leading indicator. No guarantee, but it's a good sign. Share price is bumping up under the 20 day EMA,so there'll probably be some resistance there.
That Palmarejo news is very good, should bring more looky-loos into the Mexico crowd. Helps verify that the reported values are for real.

Canadian Mint Introduces Wheel-Sized Pure Gold Coin (Update3)
By Alexandre Deslongchamps
May 3 (Bloomberg) -- The Royal Canadian Mint today unveiled a gold coin that's as big as a car wheel and as thick as a hardcover novel, in a bid to help win business lost to global competitors.
The 100-kilogram (220-pound) coin, which is 99.999 percent pure gold, the largest and purest piece ever made, was shown to reporters for the first time today at the mint in Ottawa. While each coin has a face value of C$1 million ($900,000), the purity and quantity of the bullion gold they're made of makes them worth more than twice as much, based on current prices.
``The only word I can come up with is, `Wow!''' Lane Brunner, deputy executive director of the American Numismatic Association's Money Museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado, said of the new Canadian coin. ``Something like this is, I don't want to say beyond comprehension, but it's pretty darn close.''
The 100-kilogram coin and a standard-sized version with a C$200 face value were designed to help regain market share from facilities in Australia, Austria, China and the U.S. that have started producing coins of similar quality. Canada's mint last year sold 296,100 ounces of gold bullion, a 10 percent drop from 2005. Trade in gold coins is estimated to be worth $3 billion worldwide.
``The Royal Canadian Mint faced a growing field of competitors,'' said Ian Bennett, the mint's president and chief executive officer. ``Minting gold bullion coins of 99.999 percent purity is our answer to that challenge.''
Market Value
Bullion coins are traded based on the market value of the gold they contain, rather than their nominal value. The face value acts as a guarantee, meaning an investor could ask the mint to exchange the coin for C$1 million if the intrinsic value ever dropped below that point.
Gold futures for June delivery rose $9.30, or 1.4 percent, to $684.40 an ounce today on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Until today, the world's largest gold coin was ``Big Phil,'' a 31-kilogram piece that Austria's mint produced in 2004. That coin was about the size of a car's steering wheel.
The Royal Canadian Mint will issue a small number of the 100-kilogram pieces on a ``made to order'' basis for a ``limited'' time period, the mint said in a regulatory filing. Three have already been sold and the mint may sell as many as 10, Bennett said, after showing a promotional video describing the coin as ``100 kilos of the purest Canadian pride.''
``There's demand for this coin, it's one of a kind,'' said Nicholas Sarantes, vice-president of Santa Monica, California- based A-Mark Precious Metals Inc. The company bought three and plans to resell them for more than $2.6 million each. ``It's an amazing investment.''
$5 Million Nickel
The Canadian coin, while the world's largest, won't be the most valuable. According to the Money Museum's Brunner, a 1913 U.S. Liberty nickel just sold for $5 million.
Still, the Canadian government had to amend existing law to allow the mint to make a coin of such high value.
Brunner predicted the smaller version, called the Gold Maple Leaf series, will be popular with collectors.
``There is a race to capture market share, to produce coins that people really want to collect,'' he said. ``The Royal Canadian Mint has always been thought of as innovative. But in the past ten years, they've really come out as a leader worldwide. The technology that they use is just incredible.''
The mint is also displaying the new pieces at its other facility in Winnipeg, and is seeking other venues to show it off, Bennett said.

No doubt about it ----------------------------------------
those are excellent #'s.. Eventually it will really pay off. I heard they were going to have 3 drills running down there pretty soon.

Gene ----------------------------------------------------
You should get out of the stock market and put your funds in a CD. Your constant whining is wearing on me.
All stock fluctutate and they are as likely to go down as up, on any given day. Just relax and stop watching them so closely.
C L
If it makes you feel better -----------------------------------
I watch 3 other miners to see how the sector is doing and their charts don't look any too hot, either. GSS is doing the best as there's been considerable insider buying:

C L
Probably works for S/B, or -------------------------------
one of the other dumb asses that are shorting it. I hope they pay the dumb SOB very much.

Gene -------------------------------------------------------
"My future is totally dependent on the success of Tara"
I hope you're joking. This is a fine little co and Rich is a whiz, but you should never put all your funds into any one equity. Mining especially is frought with problems, delays etc. There are probably 50 public mining companies that go broke for every one that makes it.
You should be spread out into several sectors with at least one stock in each.
C L
The chart has looked sad before --------------------------
and it snapped right out of it. Fundamentals always override technicals. When the right things happen, it will go on a run again - no matter what the idiots think..
C L
The chart was looking good a
couple of weeks ago, and now it looks terrible. Likely to see some tough times until he gets close to finishing those filings. Those auditors are a bunch of losers.
C L
Looks like the impatient folks -----------------------------------
are moving on to other stocks, not too smart.
C L
Ace, I forwarded those comments -----------------------------------
to Rich - here's his reply:
"It's moving along, but wishing it would move faster"
C L
Good news, our J/V partners --------------------------------
are starting to get it together.
C L
OT -- crooked 33,
Thanks for the mail, apparently I can't answer you that way. Completely agree, the company has a bright future and it will unfold, with some more patience on investor's parts.
You can reach me at CL99CL@yahoo.com
C L
You're right -----------------------------------------------
I sent your post to Rich and asked for comments, he says you're correct. That's going to be a mess to keep accurate track of.
It's been a long time since I read those agreements, my apology.
C L
Getting some volume going ------------------------------------
in Frankfurt. It's about time the yurps woke up.
C L
Tara's only concern with
funds spent by the JV partners is making sure they expend the agreed amounts to develop the property.
NSR's are only a measure of goods sold and price paid, we don't care how much their production costs are:
------------------------------------
The Gross, or Net Smelter Return (NSR) Royalty, is characterized by royalty payments that are a fixed or variable percentage of the sales price, or gross revenue, the mining operator receives from the sale of mineral product from the property. The mining operator's gross revenue, in metal mines, is often referred to as Net Smelter Return because it is common for the mining operator to sell the mineral product in a form that requires further processing by a smelter or refinery. The Net Smelter Return is the amount of money which the smelter or refinery pays the mining operator for the mineral product and is usually based on a spot, or current price of the mineral, with deductions for the costs associated with further processing. In non-metal mines the selling price is usually 'fob mine site' because of the transportation costs involved in delivering the mineral product to the buyer.
Gross, or NSR, royalty payments are also fairly simple to calculate and administer in that only the selling price and quantity of mineral product produced or sold are required for their determination. A mining lease clause usually specifies the selling price that is to be used because of the differences in price among the spot, contract and forward markets that exist for different mineral products. Because the mineral price and quantity of mineral produced or sold may vary considerably during a royalty accounting period, the mining lease must provide details regarding the amount of information that is supplied to the mineral property owner in order for the owner to verify, or audit, the royalty payment amounts. This type of royalty will usually have the highest market value of all the royalty types in the event the royalty owner should want to sell it to a royalty buying company.
That's good news,
but I wonder why their costs are so high. A leach pad operation should be a lot cheaper than that. They must have a lot of overhead in there someplace. I'd like to see their complete breakdown of expenses.
C L
Hmmmmm ----------------------------------------------------
I've been in the stock for 40 months, so I don't relate to being in a hurry.
The best investor of all time, said: "Buy stocks that are undervalued, with good management and hold them until they are fully valued." He also said: "I make the best profits in my third and fourth year."
In mining, nothing happens in a hurry, just relax and take it easy.
I expect the stock will start to move before the filings are finished, we have some big buyers and I think they'll want to see it get onto the AMEX xchange. That will require it to be above 2$. That's all just my opinion.
C L
Sam Dan O T -------------------------------------------------------
Thanks for the post. I see LRG is Can listed, I stopped buying them, have gotten ripped off every time.
The GSML has no mining people in management, usually not a good sign. I'll discuss them with Rich and see what he says. Best to you with all your investments.
C L
I haven't paid much attention
to Tara's J/V partners, with the exception of Paramount. I own a small bit of it, maybe I should look at the rest.
C L
Which company are you discussing??
C L
Stock price has to stay -----------------------------------
above $2 for 30 days, probably take 60 to 90 days total, to get listed there.
Getting an auditor to take on new tasks until after April 15th is always a problem. He thought they would start on them pretty soon. The market usually anticipates these things so it's feasible that the S P will move up, before they actually get done.
C L
I talked to Rich today, -------------------------------------
the rest of the Q's from '05 will be put up pretty soon. Then they'll start on the '06 filings. The auditors are slow as ever.
C L
Chart and Indicators:
The chart has improved a lot over the last week. Stock price is above the 10, 20, and 50 day EMA - which are nearly co-incident.
The MACD has just gone positive.
The Stochastics have turned up
My favorite leading indicator, the Chaikin Oscillator has turned up sharply.
The chart is now forming a flag formation over the last 4 weeks and is predicting a breakout (or breakdown) within the next 2 weeks.
Charting is more an art than a science and is not always accurate. However, learning the art is necessary to be successful. You should at least learn how to use support/resistance lines.

Over 800K shares traded, counting both exchanges. A few days
over a million and it will gets legs. Pleased to see the interest coming back.
Reuters says that funds are starting to buy PM's
C L
Ace, you must be expecting a big -------------------------
increase in volume, that's what it takes to get a price movement like that, in this stock...
C L
Sounds good to me, ----------------------------------------
Nothing like a strong run to shut up the losers. Ol doc on RB trashed the stock down to 3 cents and then pretty much disappeared until $1.49, then he came back with the lies.
This is the best stock I've ever owned, spanning 45 years in the markets, a real life changing experience, all due to Rich's hard work. He's been at it for 4 years and now the payoff is in sight. Once those Q's are filed, I expect a bunch of news items.
With the PM's breaking out, it couldn't come at a better time. If the XAU index can get thru the 154 level, all the miners should have a fantastic move.
C L
Good post ----------------------------------------------
How about one of the moderators block all these losers, this board is starting to look like yahoo..
