Rich is well awaare of
what it takes to go Amex - that's the person that counts.
C L
MIning equities are still
acting very poorly. They don't go up when Au runs and they come down when it sells off. It's been like this for months. Maybe a big correction in the metals will be good, get the weak hands out and maybe the big players will bite.
C L
I thnk we are seeing
about 20% better results here than Palmarejo had. It's been a long time since I looked at their #'s, but I think that's right.
C L
If we can get on the
AMEX, any other xchange would be easy. Paramount made it from the BB to the Amex. I think the share price has to be $2 or above.
C L
I wouldn't be surprised
to see both Paramount and TARA do some kind of a promotion, to get more public awareness. Not much volume on the Frankfurt xchange so Europe must not know much about either company. Some money spent on promotion would be well spent I think, particularly if either company wants to do a PP.
C L
I give everybody 2 chances to
to say something intelligent on a stock board. If they can't manage it in 2 tries, I stop reading anything they have to say. Life is too short to put up with dimwits and I have better ways to spend my time.
If their first post is negative, I pull up their posting history. You'll notice most of them just joined IH, come right to this board and start out with bashing. Take motownmofo for an example - posts only on TARA and has never said anything positive. Tells you right off the bat, he/she doesn't own the stock. The premise that these losers are spending their life "trying to expose frauds" or "I'm here to help you make investment decisions" is ludicrous. They are here to drive down the stock price, for one reason or another.
Resource companies are really simple to evaluate: Ounces of goods in the ground X ..X$ divided by total OS amount of stock. Throw in a calculation for moving the project along and you have the value. There's no doubt the metals are there - PZG is proving it and they are moving it along with 2 drills and a competent crew running the show.
The only question for me is why the public is not grasping what Palmarejo did and realizing that the situation in Mexico is the place to be. The public (the market) is slow to pick up on things sometimes - but they always "get it" sooner or later. Most investors don't have the patience to wait it out.
C L
Must be getting worried,
usually the short-selling scumbags take the weekend off. Can't say as I blame her, you never know when this stock will start the next move.
C L
Amazing how the mkt reacts
sometimes. The world's largest oil service company (SLB) put out fantastic E release this morning and they just trashed it and the entire petro sector.
C L
Big mistake yesterday.
I should have sold all the rest of my stocks and put it all in TARA. This is the worst hit I've taken since 2000 and I have a bunch of good stocks. That's the market for ya.
C L
TARA is current on ------------------------------------------------
their payments to everyone. They have taken in a lot of cash from J/V partners. They have a lot of stock that can be sold starting in a few months, if they need more cash.
They did some private placements for cash and to pay down debt.
I don't see any surprises.
C L
Good post sam dan, kudos to Rich
I think the next 2 Q reports will come along pretty quickly. This one was the biggie because the auditors had to go to Mexico and look at all the rocks and shovels.
C L
ROFL ------------------------------------------------------------
As the Company is not in the business of generating income from failed joint ventures, the Company will recognize the payments under the original Raven agreement as Other Income in the period when management determined that Raven was no longer participating in the venture according to the payment terms. Until this time, or until the joint venture partner has successfully earned its ownership percentage, the Company has deferred income/gain recognizition and accounted for these payments as part of the “Payments received from join venture partners for options to purchase interests in mining properties” on the June 30, 2006 balance sheet. As of June 30, 2006 Raven did not have an ownership percentage in the Las Minitas joint venture.

They filled it all ----------------------------------------------
not much, about -- 30K shares total. I have a lot already and don't normally overload in any one stock.
I discussed TM with Rich on Sat. He's made a deal for most of the equip and they are going to build their own mill. Steel bldg, with partial sides. If the base metal mkts stay strong, it should be a big winner.
C L
Thanks for the compliments gents, -----------------------------
but remember I'm just an observer. Rich is the prime mover. Lots of good things coming yet. As these J/V projects move along, TARA moves along. It's twice the company it was a year ago, while the stock price is lower.
If you compare the gold index (XAU) to the gold/silver prices and the US$, it's apparent something is out of whack. Either the miners are going to get a big move up - or the metals prices are going to come down. Equity buyers must think the gold move is an aberation. It should start to equalize before long.
They just gave me 10K shares - keep it coming.
C L
You guys must be really bored ---------------------------------
How about somebody selling me some TARA?? Got a little yesterday at .52 and have order in today at .53 and not getting much.
I looked at nearly 50 miners and finally decided I didn't see anything as compelling.
C L
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>scenes involving treachery, betrayal, loss of precious metals, guessing wrong, and fumbling around underground without success or direction.<<<
Hmmmmn, that sounds like munchkin, motownmofo, and bobdoless.
comedy and tragedy. ROFL

Drake should give up -------------------------------------------
that Jackot placer situation. I did a lot of exploration in the Quartsite area, many years ago, and never found any PM's. IMO, there's nothing there.

Some more great drill results: --------------------------------------

Tara Gold Announces Further San Miguel Drill Program Intercepts
Tuesday October 16, 9:15 am ET
CHICAGO, IL--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 16, 2007 -- Tara Gold Resources Corp. (Other OTC:TRGD.PK - News) (Frankfurt:T8N.F - News) is pleased to announce the assay results from 12 drill holes in the San Antonio/El Carmen area at its San Miguel project in the Guazapares mining district, Mexico. These results indicated continuity within the San Antonio - El Carmen vein system and confirmed the existence of stockwork mineralization west of the main San Antonio structure.
In August 2005, Tara Gold Resources Corp. signed an agreement with Paramount Gold Mining Corp. giving Paramount the right to earn up to a 70% interest in the project. Paramount has earned its interest and Tara Gold continues to retain a 30% interest in the project. Paramount is the operator of the exploration program.
Drill hole SA-29 was designed to test the on-strike continuity of the El Carmen mineralized structure to the north and Hole SA-30 was an infill hole in the south end of San Antonio structure. Holes SA-31 to SA-36 were drilled to test the northwest extension of the San Luis structure, a parallel vein system southwest of the San Antonio zone. SA-37 and SA-38 were planned to test the southeast extension of the San Antonio structure. SA-39 and SA-40 were drilled to test the stockwork mineralization west of the San Antonio mineralized structure.
Larry Segerstrom, COO of Paramount Gold and Silver Corp., commented, "The results of drill holes SA-29 to SA-40 continue to demonstrate the continuity of the mineralization within the San Antonio/El Carmen mineralized zone. The zone appears to persist along strike and down-dip."
Exploration drilling continues in the Montecristo and San Miguel areas using two core drills working 24 hours per day. A round of drilling at the La Veronica zone has also been completed with assay results pending from the laboratory.
Highlights of assays results (see table at www.paramountgold.com for further details and maps):
SA-29 intercepted 9.4 meters (7.20 meters of true width) of 135 g/t silver.
SA-31 intercepted 7.5 meters (5.75 meters of true width) of 132 g/t silver.
SA-32 intercepted 0.9 meters (0.69 meters of true width) of 0.26 g/t gold and 692 g/t silver.
SA-37 had intercepts of 13.0 meters (8.36 meters of true width) of 128 g/t silver, and 0.8 meters (0.51 meters of true width) of 861 g/t silver.
SA-38 had intercepts of 3.75 meters (2.41 meters of true width) of 239 g/t silver, and 0.8 meters (0.51 meters of true width) of 932 g/t silver.
SA-40 intercepted 2.0 meters (1.11 meters of true width) of 891 g/t silver.
Quality Control
The operator takes detailed photos of the entire core before it is cut by saw to half core which is assayed at ALS Chemex's Vancouver laboratory. As part of quality assurance, quality control (QA/QC), Paramount has put into place a detailed program of periodically introducing certified standards, blanks and duplicates into the sample stream. Half-core samples are being retained on site for verification and reference purposes.
C.W. (Bill) Reed, B. Sc. Mineralogy (registered geologist with the state of Utah) is the qualified person, on behalf of the operator, with respect to this news release.
About San Miguel
San Miguel is currently comprised of 16 concessions covering an estimated +8 kms strike of silver and gold mineralization. It is located in Chihuahua, Mexico, and lies in the Guazapares mining district, part of the gold-silver belt of the Sierra Madre Occidental.
Bravo for that guy ---------------------------------------------
He certainly has a handle on Mexico - now if the rest of the mining investors catch on, we'll rock&roll.
C L
Maybe Paramount -----------------------------------------------
would be interested in doing one. Of course, you can't see much, except drill pads, the drills, and some buildings.
C L
shavach, thanks for the email, --------------------------------
I can't reply to it - so I'll put it up here. I think you're right about the video, CGLD has a good one also. I'll discuss it with Rich, he has his hands full, but maybe he can get somebody else to shoot it..

Chart looking much better ---------------------------------------
It's gotten thru the 10 and 20 d ema and looks like it could make a run at the 50. The indicators look great:

S A gold production continues to fall ---------------------------
Much like oil fields, their mines are running out of metals:
-------------------------------------
High gold prices — currently around $750 per troy ounce — have spurred mine companies to go ever deeper in marginal mines. In 2005, nine mines employing 69,000 workers were considered marginal or money-losing; mining deeper, they're in profit.
Despite the new efforts, South Africa's gold production continues to fall as resources are depleted. Production has fallen from 1,000 tons in 1970 to 275 tons last year, the Chamber of Mines says. Gold fell from 50% of exports in the 1980s to 8.2% in 2006.
Nearly $979 million is being invested in new mines and in new projects at old mines, said Alex Conradie, economist at the Department of Minerals and Energy. Of that amount, $43.8 million is foreign investment.

OT - sage ------------------------------------------------------
Thanks, that does look interesting, but I'm only interested in PM stocks (Au/Ag). POG is holding up very well, after a big move, so I think it's headed higher. I bought some GSS last week and I'm thinking about some AUY. It's the prime mover when the metals run, but it's already made a big move.
C L
sage - OT ------------------------------------------------------
You seem like a really sensible person, do you like any other miners?? I'm going to add to my mining stocks, I think the PM's are going to have a good year.

I seldom buy a stock with -------------------------------------
an excellent chart, they have a way of changing directions quickly. In fact, I've done a lot better buying on a horrible chart.
You never know what's next, but the Stochastics and the Chaikin have turned up, so it's a better than a 50-50 shot that the bottom is either in or nearby.
C L
The chart looks so-so to me ------------------------------------
However, it's come up thru the 10 d ema and the Chaikin Oscillator turned up recently, that's my favorite indicator:

Thanks for your cogent posts ----------------------------------
I've known the CEO - Rich since the early 90's. He's as straight forwrd and honest as anybody I ever met. He's a stong Christian, a conservative, and a patriot. He's affiliated somehow with a Christian school, I think it's mentioned in his bio - perhaps on the web-site.
He took over a BK shell, and put some oil properties in it. The petro wells were pumping, but they were in an old, played out field. He sold them when he started getting involved in Mexico with the mining scene.
It's easy to see and verify what the properties have - their drill hole analysis meets the Canadian standards. No doubt the goods are in the ground, now getting them into a producing property is another matter. I think the strongest of the JV partners is PZG. They have a lot of bucks and a good team doing the work. They have 2 drills turning 24/7 and they are getting Bonanza grade reports.
The major problem so far, is that very few of the Mex players are getting any respect. There are a lot of them down there and they all just get ignored by investors. For what it's really all about, do some DD on Palmarejo. We are near them. The stock went from 10 cents to $10 - all on drill hole results. They sold out at a huge profit to a major.
It seems to me that the mkt will find the area, but who knows when?
C L
infolode --------------------------------------------------------
First off, the contention that the SEC and the major exchanges make is all BS - "shorting is a legitimate trading stategy" That's not correct - a short is allowed to do what even the company can't do and that's to increase the float in about 2 seconds. When you short a stock, your broker borrows it from a SH and then you sell it again - increasing the float. The company can't do that - they have to announce and then register the stock, so the public has that knowledge. When you increase the supply of anything, you make it all less valuable. Were it not for the emormous amount of money involved, it never would have been allowed.
Then to make matters even worse, in early July, they dropped the up-tick rule. Fear is stronger than greed, so now the action is driving a stock into the ground, harming the investor, at least on a short term basis. What they have done is turn investment markets into a short-term free for all.
The situation is a whole lot worse in unlisted markets (pink sheets), the shorts don't have to report anything and drive them down with naked short sales. They have literally destroyed many small companies doing that.
I see from your next post that you are a shorter - one of the very few that ever tells the truth about anything. Most investors hate shorts for their lies and duplicity and I don't blame them.
IMO, this stock has a huge short interest, a bunch of different entities are doing their best to destroy this company and their SH.. That's collusion and fraud. I don't think they'll get away with it, but that's just my take.
C L
good video, shavach ---------------------------------------------
They should run a filter on that helicopter noise, tho. Hard to hear the talking.
C L
He's just another scumbag short, --------------------------------
there's 6 of them working the board now. They back off when stocks start going down and increase their BS when it starts to strengthen. The boards are full of these low-lifes and have been since the internet started. Their time here is going to be limited, those drills are turning 24 hours a day and the public will catch on to this - sooner or later.
Best bet is to ignore them, as soon as they make it apparent what their motives are.

Here's the answer to your questions:
-------------------------------------
I have not gotten an e-mail from him, but you can tell him I am just a consultant. As I told you, I may give them advice from time to time on mining deals and possible JV structures.
This is a very minimal time commitment…maybe a couple of hours a month, if that. I do not see anything wrong with helping people who have helped Tara.
Need this person be reminded that Tara was 1 penny when I took over.
Thank you,

in years, most are losers. If PM's make a huge move, they will payoff, tho.
TARA is my non-expiring option. Best of luck with those.
C L
They have some good points ------------------------------------
there, but most of the mining equities are not acting like this is anything more than another temporary rally. One of the few exceptions is Barrick, it hit an all time high today. Most of the other majors are not doing nearly as well.

Paramount adds mining staff and Geo survey -------------------------
Press Release Source: Paramount Gold and Silver Corp.
Paramount Gold and Silver Corp. Adds Mining Engineer, Geologist, and Metallurgist to Their Experienced Team at the San Miguel Project
Tuesday October 9, 4:15 pm ET
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(MARKET WIRE)--Oct 9, 2007 -- Paramount Gold and Silver Corp. (Toronto:PZG.TO - News)(AMEX:PZG - News)(Frankfurt:P6G.F - News)(WKN: A0HGKQ) is pleased to announce that Dr. Denis Norton and Alastair H. Summers have been engaged to help advance the San Miguel Project in Temoris, Chihuahua, Mexico. Paramount has also engaged Quantec Geophysics to conduct an IP - resistivity survey; and Herbert Osborne, a Metallurgical Engineer.
Commenting on the appointments, Christopher Crupi, President and CEO, stated, "Paramount is committed to building a strong, experienced and results-oriented team of mining professionals as we continue to experience significant growth. We believe that our highly skilled and deeply experienced technical team is a tremendous asset as we build the San Miguel Project into a significant deposit."
Mr. Summers has over 47 years of experience of mine construction, mine management, and mine engineering. Mr. Summers will be responsible for commencing scoping work on a pre-feasibility study. From March 1990 to May 2001, Mr. Summers was the VP & General Manager of Minera Hecla de Mexico, where he was responsible for the design, construction, operation and reclamation of the highly successful La Choya open pit, heap leach gold mine. Mr. Summers also identified and sponsored the acquisition and development of the San Sebastian underground silver-gold mine and Velardena mill. Mr. Summers earned a B.A. Sc. Mining Engineering from the University of British Columbia. He is a Registered Professional Engineer, Colorado, and a Registered Professional Geologist, Idaho.
Dr. Norton received his B.A. in Geology from the University of Buffalo in 1960 and a PhD in Geochemistry from U.C. Riverside in 1964. He had early experience as a stope miner at Butte, Montana, and was Chief Geochemist for Kennecott Exploration Services for a number of years. Between 1973 and 1996 Dr. Norton was Professor of Geology at the University of Arizona. Since retiring from research and teaching at the U. of Arizona, Dr. Norton has been engaged in a private consulting practice.
Herbert Osborne graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in 1961 and will be primarily responsible for providing metallurgical consulting to Paramount. Mr. Osborne has 47 years of experience working in Mexico, Central America and the United States as a consultant, and with New Jersey Zinc and Goldfields.
The geophysical survey, which commenced in September, has been designed to test the entire 8 kilometer length of the San Miguel mineralized system. The survey will take several months to complete and will provide information to vector deeper drilling in areas with known mineralization and will define new targets in areas that have not been previously drilled. The geophysical survey results will be combined with a property wide detailed 1:5000 scale geologic map, a detailed litho-geochemical study, and a 3-dimensional model of the geology and mineralization at the mineralized zones, San Antonio, San Luis, San Jose and La Union. The 3D model is being compiled using Vulcan mapping software.
Paramount will be attending the upcoming Veracruz International Mining Congress and Exhibit from October 10th -13th, 2007, and the Toronto Resource Investment Conference from October 21st -22nd, 2007. Paramount will also be visiting analysts and fund managers in Vancouver from October 31, 2007 to November 2, 2007.
Paramount Gold is listed on the AMEX and TSX under the symbol PZG and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under the symbol P6G (WKN: A0HGKQ). Paramount Gold is a precious metals mining exploration company, presently in the early stages of an extensive exploration program at their San Miguel project, located in the Guazapares Mining District of Mexico, part of the Sierra Madre Occidental gold-silver belt. Paramount has completed over 21,000 meters of drilling on the project, totaling 132 drill holes, with results pending on 32 of these holes. In early 2007, Paramount began a 50,000 meter drill program, of which 14,000 meters have been completed to date. In March 2007, Paramount completed a $21.8 million financing which is being utilized to develop their San Miguel project and other opportunities.
Paramount drilling rate -----------------------------------------
I finally got thru to my contact. They have 2 drills running 24/7. The drilling rate is about 300 meters/day. I expect they would finish the 50K meters about March of '08.
This is just one old guy's opinion, but anybody selling PZG or TARA before then should have their brain examined... Seldom in life, do you get a shot like this for a very large score. In the mean time, I don't have a clue where TRGD is going to trade, but if they drive it down much further, they'll force me to buy some more.
C L
Sometimes you just get lucky ------------------------------------
I bought a nice sized position in Miramar last week and Newmont took em out this morning.
Keep in mind that the big boys are running around buying up reserves. It's already happened in Mehico with the Palmarejo deal and it's likely that won't be the last time that happens down there. At some point Paramount will go the same route and we'll be there for the payoff.
C L
That's true -----------------------------------------------------
"He did agree to act as a consultant and advise them from time to time. This does not make him an officer, director, or anything official."
C L
