wow jwez, that is a TON. I have quite a few myself, but nowhere even close to that. IF, and that's a big IF this hits, you will be in a very good spot IMO.
*sigh* I just read his reply to your initial question. I'm sorry but there is no way he didn't know what you were asking. The whole cryptic response thing is getting old and is really quite condescending in nature when it is so obvious, particularly towards someone like R3 who is clearly an honest trader here who has spent a lot of time trying to be fair to people on both sides of the coin.
Folks, just say no if you can't or don't feel comfortable answering a question.
This isn't what this is about. We should be helping each other make more informed decisions about this stock. That is what this is about. If you can't help someone or are not comfortable doing it, please just be honest about it. We're all trying to do our own DD the best way we can, and sometimes we can/want to share our info and sometimes we don't. But there is a way to deal with other people and that is not it.
mods, go ahead and remove this post, I know it probably breaks the ToS or something.
Estallserver.com. I'm on it!
Doug Marriott appears to have started a new venture called etabserver. It sounds like a electronic tablet based menu for restaurants that likely has an ad insertion component. I wonder if this is technologically a spinoff of what they are using for tivus. May be 100% irrelevant but may help shed some sort of light on the departure, not sure.
Hi jwez/wagget. I appreciate the updates. Any word on the Marriott brothers?
Well Phil marriott's LinkedIn profile now shows tivus as a "past" position.
good questions waggett... one more thing that I am wondering.... they mentioned "Big News" was coming very soon during the conference call. Can you ask them exactly what was that Big News they were talking about? I hope it wasnt that they were preparing for the Omaha Install, as that was basically something we just sort of assumed was supposed to be happening anyhow.
Hell I doubt we'll get the answers we want no matter how they're worded. I'd just like to see some pressure on these items as these are my concerns. Ask the questions on the best fashion you can.
Hi wagget, thanks for offering. I just want to know if the Marriott install in Philly is getting any reviews from Marriott/host management, and if there is any communication with corporate management at all in those 2 companies or if it is basically silence and "waiting" only. I also want to know why we have heard nothing from tivus about the Omaha dt install. Also do they have anything lined up outside of these two or not? They used to claim there was a third, but no other new properties have entered the game since host was announced over a year ago. What is really going on in the sales front from the Phil?
PS companies love to talk about their advanced discussions with prospective buyers but rarely talk about sealed deals.
I also want to know why the marriotts were removed from the management and board pages.
What I listed above are my current concerns. Not to beat a dead horse of negativity, but clarifications on the above issues would greatly help me.
Irish, I'm not even convinced yet that Omaha actually happened. They said that their tv's were staged on site in October and installation was commencing, but have not heard even a single thing since. Omaha Doubletree has basically acknowledged multiple times that their room upgrades are complete, but why have we not heard a thing about it? Has or Does anyone want to rationalize a complete lack of updates on Omaha since October?
we shall see king... I am giving Urban a first year bye to get the program reestablished...
2013 and beyond, we'll see!
Pitt?
jsteel are you from Michigan by chance?
I didn't see the review on tripadvisor about the Internet interface but saw another one from a couple days ago saying.....
"-The TV didn't work, but I didn't use it until my last night there and didn't feel like it was worth it to call maintenance at that point."
*sigh*. I feel like I'm seeing more of these than I should be, combined with the new years and early december complaints about the tv not working. I just hope these issues are no fault of tivus.
I want to go, but I can't...
I graduated a "few" years ago :)
Let's see... western ohio..... not much there.... Wapakoneta?
good questions jwez, and largely fair responses... unfortunately he still gave no indication on what the deal is with the Phil/Doug removal from the management/Board pages on the website, other than saying noone can replace phil.
good email, thanks for posting.
Good analysis nic, I also agree that the marriotts are likely done for, but like you said perhaps the company was looking for something more here, hence the hiring of the new guy who does have a quite lucrative resume. Hard telling... That's the frustrating part is deciphering cryptic communications and sometimes contradicting information from dd.
GLTU
I agree jwez. I want to find out more about what this new guy is doing.
"On the system sales front, Phil Marriott , our executive vice-president of sales, reported to me he is aware of several hotel properties that are month-to-month with legacy providers awaiting TiVUS successful proof-of-concept.."
that was the last sales message I recall hearing form mid-Dec.... not too exciting to hear... when a company's sales update informs us that they are "aware" of properties that can use the system...
Back in Sept/Oct. they talked about advanced discussions with resort properties and with a hotel chain that operated multiple western U.S. properties, but have not heard anything about those since.
Wasn't there a third installation that they already had booked since early last year that we have not heard any details of as well?
Good dd on Phil. So that leaves Doug... It would seem that their departure was coordinated based on the disappearances seemingly being at the same time. Just speculation... But I feel some significant event must have happened to cause them to depart together. Doug's website which did feature tivus has just only recently gone down as well. Something is definitely up and we need some answers.
I, like many was particularly intrigued by the Marriott name for a variety of reasons, notwithstanding whatever their "real" relationship may be with their more prominent first cousins... The name and bloodline alone carries weight in the industry, or so i thought. Perhaps not enough.
Looking back at the fall and winter pr's I recall being somewhat disappointed by hat I heard with the sales updates from Phil. Hearing about "advanced" and "promising" discussions with a Western hotel chain and resort hotels, and then the PR in December which simply said Phil has identified hotels that would benefit for tivus and wanting to see proof of concepts. Yet no real indication that anything substantive was really happening, which leads me to believe that Philly and Omaha are really the only 2 things happening at all for this company right now....btw, is Omaha really happening? haven't heard a thing on at front since October...
This can't be viewed as anything but another setback at this stage. Shiva, et al, have some explaining to do IMO. I will be eagerly awaiting the official word on the apparent Marriott departure. This is big.
Wow you are right! They were both listed previously under the "about us" section I believe under different headings, but now are gone.
This page still has a reference to Phil but who knows if it is just an aver sight on the removal?
http://www.tivus.com/hotelownersmenu
I saw that also. Kind of strange since Steve has always said he isn't a fan of the talk over here.
Hi jpr1969, I believe that letter was filed in the interest of becoming Current PS, as they currently have a Yield sign, as opposed to uplisting.
irish my comment has absolutely nothing to do with any comments you made about the company at all. perhaps you should re-read what you posted in your previous message.
best
ah you changed it... you're sneaky... :) 2007
New this is also 2010
Irish if you are not capable of having a civil discussion, might I suggest taking a break for a while. Clearly your emotions are getting the best of you.
New that is from 2010
I hope you are right jwez. I do realize that this can happen anytime on any medium. I just hope that they have a good backbone there at the hotel, and that this is not a trend. I just do not like seeing posts like this when I go on TripAdvisor looking for posts that say "wow the TV was the most amazing thing I have ever seen, I just couldn't leave my room!"

Two recent posts on the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown TripAdvisor page.... *sigh*.... nothing like ruining New Years for people.....
“New Years Eve”
Reviewed December 31, 2011
Staying in Philly with two young kids for New Years Eve, celebrated with the kids early in the evening and planned on watching the ball drop at midnight from the tv in our room. TV NOT working, called front desk and they explained that the WiFi in our part of the hotel is down, WiFi???? Why on earth is the tv connected to WiFi. Look to turn on radio in room and NO RADIO in the room, plenty of connections for our lap top to connect to TV but again no WiFi what's the point. NOT HAPPY WITH MARRIOTT.

“Can't Believe”
Reviewed January 1, 2012
My boyfriend and I spent the evening in the Philadelphia Marriott in downtown, for New years eve. We are Marriott rewards members and could not even get the room we booked 2 weeks prior to the event. We asked for a king and got 2 doubles and when we questioned the mess up we were told we're not important enough of the rewards totem pole to actually receive the room we requested. Then the TV didnt work, we called the desk again and were told they would send someone up... No one ever shower so we called again and were told they were working on it. The TV never came on.
thanks newpontiac, I feel the same way about most of what you said.
new, I personally don't have a timetable on when I expect revenues to roll in. And I welcome any information that can help me make a more informed decision. That problem is that the history of your posts would indicate that you don't see anything in this company that would make it any more of a worthwhile investment than any of the other companies that you are mentioning, which is why some people are questioning your intent. My question is, certainly with as much DD as you are doing, while looking for an entry point, you must see something here that catches your eye, but having seen all of your DD posts, I have not seen what it is, if anything, that you actually do like about this company.

hi newpontiac, my advice for you is to not invest in this company. Clearly they are not unique in the industry in any way, shape or form, and all of the other companies in the many dozens of links that you have posted are equal or better.
GLTU
newpontiac, I really have no idea. All I know is that the hotel told me that the rooms were currently in the process of being "outfitted" with new flat screens. Doesn't sound like its moving along very quickly whatever it is, but that's all the info I have to go on currently. Whether there were any flat-screens installed previously I really have no idea. That said, I imagine that whatever is happening seems to be happening pretty slowly, because I imagine if it was a simple tv replacement job, it would be something that they could possibly accomplish fairly quickly, unless it coincided with a complete room overhaul, which may also be happening. Again, I dont know. I will look forward to hearing about your next stay at the hotel.
that information was from the Doubletree.
My suggestion is to request a room with a flatscreen as they said they would do their best to provide one if requested. They said they were in the process of outfitting all of their rooms with them so some did and some did not. This was about 2 weeks ago. The email did not leave the impression that all rooms would be "outfitted" with them in the very near term.
Hi Newpontiac, take some even if they are not. otherwise people just have to take you at your word, which on the internet doesn't amount to much (for anybody, not just you.)
Last I heard from the Doubletree in Omaha (a couple of weeks ago), they said they were "in the process" of installing the new flatscreens, but didn't seem to think a complete installation was imminent. Wether or not those are the TIVUS flatscreens, I have no idea. That said, whatever installation they were "in the process" of, was going on but not near completion.
GLTU
as I said in my last statement, lets see the proof that its not there. I've seen a number of things (not just prs), video included to show that it is...
weird. You should have taken a picture or filmed a video as proof. Otherwise noone will believe you. There are pictures and even a renovation video of the Philly Marriott on youtube somewhere showing that it is there, as well as a number of PR's etc. Need proof.
