It looks that way. I'm not convinced that he will be a real good NBA'er, but he could be, and for the pick that they got him, at, it's a steal.
they had 3 great draft picks right in a row.... Durant, Westbrook, Harden, and that's all she wrote.
I also have rental properties in Ohio, I will also extend to you some great deals, SeeYa :)
I was a bit confused at the time as well as to why he listed Tivus as an employer. I knew he had been subcontracted through an ad-agency. As to why he ever listed them in the first place, I can only speculate. I'm just not sure if he did it on his own merits or at the encouragement of the company. Either way, it didn't really make sense. That said, the fact that he removed them entirely, without a trace, it's just another blip in a long line of things that can be looked at negatively, or at the very least, not positively.
I'm trying to keep an open mind to the possibilities that may still exist here, but it becomes increasingly difficult, as the evidence is stacking against it.
I realize Sverdlik was supposedly subcontracted through some ad-agency, but the fact that he consciously removed Tivus entirely from his profile, not even including it under "Past" says something. I just don't get it. So there goes another one of our "heavy hitters" without even a trail (which was erased, by him.)
if I were him I would probably not even read the board, unless it lights a fire under him. It sounds like he is motivated enough as it is, he doesn't need our negativity to rally him. As it stands, on the surface of Tivus, there isn't much to be excited about at the moment, but the insight of folks like yourself and the others who have spoken to him gives at least (some) of us some hope. I will certainly not fault his effort or his motive, but he has done some things that are indefensible IMO and from where I'm standing, an "A" for effort doesn't help the shareholders much. If you are reading this Shiva, I still have hope, don't let me (or your kids who want to go to college) down please :)
best.
Thanks for posting R3, as per the others before you, you are not required to clue us in about your conversation with SP, so it is much appreciated on my end. I can't help but notice that every single person who talks to him sounds rejuvenated afterwards, which is good. But I cant help but think about the times he has clearly played dumb about the TA gags and whatnot, and the fear is that he will tell you literally anything to make you believe in him.
Here is to hoping his actions will someday show up to be even a fraction as big as his words. If they do, we may be in good shape.
hey maybe we have one of the coveted COUSIN CONNECTIONS going on here again!
I'd say 99.99999% chance it's a simple copy and paste job.
jwez, the company is not making this easy on us at all. Last year if you would have told me I'd still be sitting here after so many missed deadlines, sloppy work, no visible contract in philly, with omaha DT basically in the dumps... I'd say you were nuts.... for any other stock, I would have been LONG gone by now, but here I am. Why? I don't know, there is JUST ENOUGH evidence to point to the fact that this could still be something big, despite itself. UGG!
As to the prospect of meeting him... that is just not in the cards for me personally, I'd love to see someone who has more time to get away from the grind take him up on that, but It just cannot be me.

the most frustrating part of this stock is the evidence that this company has made and COULD make major steps to make this a MAJOR winner. I can point to a handful of things that make this a real winner and a BIGGER handful of things that make this seem like just another terrible pink, with limited information, broken promises, horrifyingly sloppy work, etc. This one is definitely a head-scratcher in every sense. The simple fact that Shiva actually signed that piece of crap report last week though is quite demoralizing. It proves that they literally could have placed anything in front of him and he would have signed it. That was just completely mind-boggling, to say the least. I doubt he even so much as glanced it over. I know the guy is busy, but come-on!
I mean what were their marching orders on that? "Here get me the best annual report you can, but please don't spend more than 1 hour working on it, I don't have enough money to pay you for more time than that."?
so you're 42 now right?
What am I missing here? All data/signs point to this being EXTREMELY undervalued, yet, here we are... There has to be some sort of a gamble here where the company can stick it to us that I am not seeing....
You never know. he may be trying to tell us that he has secured the best talent from all industries!
there is no place for calling people "idiots" or anything of the like on here. Please take your own advice.
It is. Considering this is PinkSheets land, companies can get away with a lot more crap then they would if they were trading on a more SEC regulated market. Not saying HLXH is or would ever do anything like that (I would imagine they would NOT), but PS stocks in general don't have to play by the same rules as others do.
thanks for sharing SeeYa!
whoa! Yellowdog! What happened to you man?
I think jwez, et al., have basically asked Shiva about this on multiple occasions with Shiva responding by basically playing dumb and changing the subject if my memory serves me right.
Yeah. At this stage I only care about 3 things and that's it. Getting a contract, ungagging the TA, and uplisting. Anything that falls into the "hey guys, good things are brewing" category just does not hold water with me. Give us something good and concrete, make us trust the company again.
Hard telling. From a flying standpoint, flying to Puerto Rico isn't much different than flying from Omaha to NY or Philly. Either way I'm sure he is pretty much flying to wherever he goes.
no I just remember you asking jsteel once if he was omniverous lol
the Houston Omni?
I thought that DT was?
My extremely high level understanding (and this is just from hearing chatter from jwez and others over the past several months on DT Omaha is that the Tivus TV's are all installed, but that they are still running basically comcast cable on them. So it sounds like literally the opposite of what Host is doing (Tivus Software on LG TV's).
Why they would get Tivus TV's to only run comcast cable on them is beyond me, but I don't know if they are claiming they just don't have the funds to continue on the software side of things or what? Or if they plan on ever going that route at all. The question is will they go with Tivus branded televisions and shitty cable service forever or will they eventually upgrade.
Again, this is just my understanding from what I've heard others chatter about in the past.
I wouldn't be surprised if SP reads this, perhaps not consistently but I'd be willing to bet he has dropped by here a few times at least. Just speculation, who really knows.
I forgot about MB, lol. I loved his half-posts on facebook, posting as Tivus. He would start a thought on something, and then stop cold-turkey without finishing whatever it was he was apparently trying to say. People would ask what he was talking about... no reply.
Ghost, to understand where R3 is coming from, you really need to turn back the clock to 9 months ago, to 12 months ago, or even longer. Guys like R3, myself, brian and many many others on here have all drank the kool-aid and I think will readily admit it. We have been told for many many many months over and over and over that big news was right around the corner, that big contracts were coming, huge things were happening, we were even congratulated last August for sticking by them as if to say that our wait was finally over. That is when their party began and ours quickly ended unfortunately. We all understand the risks of investing/trading in this market, and I readily accept them, but I for one can see the frustration of someone who has put thousands of dollars into a company that has missed deadline after deadline after deadline, followed by excuse after excuse after excuse, has dumped literally billions of shares on their shareholders AFTER congratulating their shareholders effectively sending the message that a contract was virtually right in front of them last August.
I have believed for a long time that there IS something that separates this company from other stinkies, and I still hold on to that to a degree, but far be it from me or anyone else who has been around this stock for a long time to not see the complete failures that could have been avoided along the way. I'm willing to accept (and have no choice to accept) many of the decisions that the company makes, good or bad, and maybe there are good reasons that they never hit any deadline they have ever set (like lack of money, etc.), but to me a gagged TA is inexcusable, and ANYONE who thinks that it is excusable is living in a completely different reality than I am. Especially for the length of time it has been gagged now. And with SP playing dumb about it? SP has said many times that he intends to run this company as if it were a BIG company... I don't know a whole lot of big companies who gag TA's for months and then pretend like they don't know why. There is only ONE reason to gag a TA for this amount of time.
In spite of that, most of us frustrated longs do still hold out hope. I don't believe SP is a criminal but I do believe that he is political in nature in that he will tell people what they want to hear if he thinks it will help his cause, as opposed to telling the truth.
I'm still holding, waiting, i've resolved myself to just being patient and waiting this one out (which I do NOT do often,) and I still have the mindset of I don't want to miss out IF/WHEN this one EXPLODES, which I still hold out hope for. That said, as I've said many times, what used to feel like a slam dunk, has now turned into a Shaq free-throw.... flip a coin.
best
Me naive? Anyone who has payed attention here knows that jwez is just as frustrated with sp as anyone. Jwez has said as much many times that sp only tells him exactly what he wants us to know. Jwez has questioned spy's motives as much or more than anyone here. But the reality is jwez knows more than us because he established a relationship with him. Any person who has payed literally any attention at all can easily recall jwez posts where he outwardly expressed concern of possibly being misled and not truly knowing sp's motives. So please spare us the witch hunt. And do some actual research into what you are whining about.
what I don't get is why gag the TA now when this is what he has been doing since day 1. What is the purpose of that? We know what is going on basically with or without the TA being gagged, but gagging it and then playing dumb pretending he doesn't know why it is gagged is what I just don't get. Perhaps there is an element to this that I don't quite understand, like something beyond the standard dilution that he does not want us to see. I just don't see where he thinks this benefits his cause. Look we are used to the dilution, it's been going on forever, so what has changed?
lol
thanks for the update jwez. Personally the whole acting like he isn't involved with the gagged TA thing bothers me more than the sum of all of the positive things he is talking about. I mean, how can he NOT know why the TA would be gagged still when he has claimed that he has been paid up with them for a while now? Does this scenario even exist where the TA CHOOSES not to give out info without the strings being pulled behind the scenes? I'm afraid to know what is going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Very annoying, but so it goes, we just wait and see what comes down the line.
Interesting. Wonder what types do things we will see here now. Or if it will basically just be PR's still.
well you've incorrectly called it at least a half dozen times that i've seen for other dates, so good luck to you on this one! :)
correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there talk and speculation that Tivus and LodgeNet could end up even partnering and teaming up to offer collaborative services, in addition to their competitive stand-alone products? I.E. LodgeNet could leverage the Tivus ad-insertion model into their system through a partnership. This could allow Tivus to offer a stand-alone product while allowing LodgeNet to take advantage of the partnerships that Tivus has established with their channel partners for ad-insertion.
It reminds me of when Steve Jobs came back to Apple, and everyone had this attitude of "down with microsoft, return to glory!" and Steve Jobs basically said If Apple is going to succeed, it needs to get away from the mentality of "we have to beat microsoft" and just be Apple. Apple and Microsoft today are both 2 of the largest software developers for each others platforms, despite all of the banter and competitiveness between them, there is actually a great deal of collaboration between the two companies with the software that they make for each other.
Steven Truckenmiller may be the perfect person to help leverage/broker such a relationship.
congrats Joshuri, I think that is a very good average. I am averaged higher than that, and feeling pretty good about even where I am sitting at the moment.
Let's hope Steve is a heavy hitter and this starts a chain reaction. The end of the dillution has not arrived yet, but it's good to see that Shiva is not messing around when it comes to getting proven industry execs tied in with this company such as Sverdlik(through the ad agency) and Truckenmiller. Hopefully that is a good sign that good, real, substantial business developments are forthcoming.
thanks Nic, I was actually not aware of that. Good info to know, but I agree, this is still great news for Tivus to pull someone in like this.
"Steve has a depth of knowledge and experience in our business that is virtually beyond compare," said LodgeNet President and CEO Scott C. Petersen
The PR left out his promotion that he had in LNET in 2003, which promoted him to having the equivalent job with LNET that he now has with Tivus. This is an old LNET PR from 2003.
