lol Wayne, pretty amazing !
Yeah, if I recall, when you guys spotted the split, there were only a few minutes to pick up any shares under $11. And apparently there were only 4,300 shares traded today. So you had to be there on both the buy and the sell.
I see 200 shares @ 11 traded at 15:39 and 15:43 -- presumably yours.
I saw ANAD and figured you guys would be all over it !!!!
There may have been 5 or 6 interesting plays today .. but overall things looked pretty boring. The question is -- is it the start of a trend ?
Chris
IMDS -- nice call Bernard !
I saw it stuck at 1.10x1.11 for quite a while and said to myself "Jeeez, if this thing breaks through, its gonna take off !"
And it did, lol !
What do you think of the low volume ? I can't recall it being so low for a Monday. Can any of you guys ?
There's all this talk of how important NASDAQ support is a 2150, but to me the real key support level is 2060 - 2080. That's sort of where the 50 dMA is right now, and I think there were 2 near term bottoms in that range.
So I'm using that level to determine when the OTCBB party will be over.
Regards,
Chris
It comes down to how they programmed the system Wayne.
You will either have to ask or test it out ! <ggg>
Another thing I would be concerned about is just the basic fact that this is a real time transaction and database management system. Heck ! Even I've had situations where I've had a sell order, cancelled it, placed another order .. only to find out that BOTH EXECUTED and I was short X,000 shares. On an OTCBB stock no less.
Looking back, I should have kept the short position open, lol.
Anyway I know you guys are constantly opening and cancelling orders lightning fast and I'd wonder just how long it would take for you to totally confuse the heck out of the database transaction locking mechanisms of MyTrac.
I know that they lost track of a huge position you once had, I just remember last year you guys having all sorts of problems. maybe it was because of the high OTCBB volume and those issues have been resolved.
I guess what I'm saying can be summed up by this: "Are you sure they have all the bugs worked out ?"
Good luck tomorrow,
Chris
TSIX ... do you guys chart your stocks in real time ?
I looked at an intraday chart of TSIX, and I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you in a PM.
I mean, you're committed .... so at this point its academic, and I'm the last person who claims to be able to predict what any stock will do on any given day. But I'd be happy to share my thoughts with you, even after the fact if you'd like.
Good luck tomorrow ... you're trading with an excellent crew !
Chris
Hi NASDPRO, yes we keep our boat on Columbia Island Marina, across the Potomac from the Jefferson Memorial.
We just got back from taking our friends out to Three Sisters Island just north or Georgetown.
What a gorgeous day, huh ?
Its really nice to be able to treat our friends to such a nice afternoon.
I don't know how long you've been in the stockpit or known some of the people who are posting here, but I'm sure you know that you're in good hands.
Good luck trading tomorrow,
Chris
Hey ! iHub's "Hot List" feature is active.
So far it just lists new subjects.
For a second there, I thought this thread was on iHub's first "Hot List". lol
Chris
Hi Wayne, very interesting ....
As you alluded to ... people better be comfortable in the principles of boolean logic (True/False ... IF-THEN-ELSE logic) before attempting some of those manuevers.
Since it costs me more that $5 per trade and its not my goal to make money trading stocks $50 at a time, it is probably not for me.
But its great to see some of the features your getting with MyTrack, because there have been many times where I have wanted to have both a stop loss and a limit sell in on the same position ... and my online broker only supports once order.
But maybe they are planning more complex order entry logic or maybe they even allow it and I just don't know how to tell them.
Thanks again,
Chris
Hi Susie924,
Actually I think a story with a heroine who co-exists and competes with men and succeeds -- without sacrificing identify, integrity, or femininity -- is a story that should appeal to many women. Especially when "succeeds" means kicking their butts !!!!
Well we finally got to take some friends out on our boat last night. By coincidence, the City of Alexandria -- which is about 5 miles down river from DC, was having some sort of waterfront festival with night time fireworks.
What makes this interesting is that the flight path approach to Reagan Nation Airport is right over the river. And the airport is only 2 miles up river from Alexandria.
I would say during the 30 minute fireworks, 4 planes flew across -- directly over the fireworks. Now I'm sure the planes were probably at 500 ft or higher -- and the fireworks was maybe 200 - 300 ft -- but think about it -- stuff exploding a few hundred feet a way from a 757 -- lighting up the skies -- blinding the pilots just seconds before touchdown !
IT WAS GREAT !!!!!!!!
Take care,
Chris
You're a good guy Wayne ...
for always taking time to help others. You've got a great combination of knowledge, self confidence, and compassion.
Don't think it hasn't gone unnoticed. <g>
Hey ! I think I did someone a really nice favor this week too ! Ask LanceB, he'll tell ya. It doesn't happen very often in this split second mo-mo stock trading world anymore, but every now and then I'm actually useful, lol. As usual, I was minding my own business when ....
Regards,
Chris
Thanks for the info on COMM, NASDPRO,
Wow ... hey .... its nice to see that bulletin boards are good for something every now and then.
Regards,
Chris
Hi Wayne,
Does your theory work for non-Mytrack users ?
Chris
Well Wayne, its a trading summary like that ....
..... that makes day-job chatroom challenged people like me start to think about just sticking my money in mutual funds.
Sometimes I think the only thing about your job that's better than mine is that your meetings are a lot more fun !!!
HRCT -- no clue what the deal is, but the chart looks nice. Maybe someone would like to give a second opinion on it.
http://www.siliconinvestor.com/research/chart.gsp?s=HRCT&period=120&time=day&chart=bar&a...
Chris
Hi Matt ! How's it going ?
You know I'm sure we could discuss at length the issues associated with being attracted to a woman that has a man's personality .....
But Bernard is waaaaay too young to have such thoughts entering his brain. <gg>
I guess there are some things that shouldn't be analyzed and should just be taken for their superficial entertainment value.
BTW -- MTV is playing a song from the movie done by U2 !! Like I said, they are doing a great job marketing this movie !
Chris
Hey Bernard !
One more week before "Tomb Raider" hits the big screen. The pre-theater hype is stepping into high gear.
Saw the MTV special on it last night. I may have to do something I rarely do .. and that is see it on opening weekend. We usually wait 3 or 4 weeks. But we're taking my son to his summer camp in Indiana the weekend of the 22nd and the weekend of the 15th is the only one available for us.
But the thought of waiting in line and getting tickets and so on .....
Sounds like a job for "Mall Raider" !!!!! )))
Chris
Welllll they must have a really serious debt problem for the stock to go nowhere today.
And they had such a sweet 1.4M share short interest position too. Rats.
Sooooooo what do you guys think of HCRT ?
Chris
CLBR -- I figure -- what the heck ... lol
So I bought some @ .20 for fun.
Chris
Lookin' at the CCSI financials on Yahoo .....
You took the risk and you are reaping the rewards.
But I gotta say .... you are one brave dude ! lol
I'll take a look at CLBR, but I dunno, if I buy it, I will probably get CLoBbeRed !!
Chris
IFSH -- saw some pre-market trades for 1.14 - 1.15 ....
back to 1.07 now. Still kind of early though.
Chris
lol Wayne, I've got a story for ya ....
In the 1990's I was the volunteer at my kids elementary school in charge of keeping a PTA funded 30 PC network with education software running. Yes, think about it ... a public elementary school with an Ethernet computer network since 1993 -- all paid for by the parents.
One of my challenges was that the school had no one there during school hours who had any PC skills ... I mean even unjamming a printer was beyond them.
I mostly did maintenance once a month on Saturdays.
One of the mysteries in maintaining the network was the short life expectancy of the mice.
Wellllll one day, I took vacation to do some repair work during school hours and I got to see the kids in action on these computers.
Ummmmmm .... let me just say that they are very "demanding" PC users. No patience for any variation in response time.
And how did these little kids express their impatience ?
..... on the mice !! THEY WERE BRUTAL !!!!
lol
Chris
Hey ! You don't have to convince me.
I don't know how you guys see the news, assimilate it, decide to buy, and push the button so fast. Anything less that 5 minutes for me would equate to "an impulse buy".
Frustration ? I've done my share of debugging software in my life time to be able to relate to on-the-job frustration.
Chris
IFSH -- why am I not surprised. Jeeez.
Just don't let bbgold see you "complaining" ! <g>
You must have been one of the last trades. I kind of think you should have held at least some for the open. But hey, suggestions are easy to give when it ain't your money, lol.
Chris
Welll the Golden List thread is discussing your mantra, which is your favorite quote. Did you ever think you would touch so many lives with 4 simple words, lol ?
IFSH -- up nice in AH. Saw it go by the AH ticker. Figured you'd be all over it.
http://quote.yahoo.com/q?s=IFSH&d=t
I saw another one that looked like it was up $4 from $10 ....
can't remember it ... I gotta start writing them down, lol.
MSEV did nice today. And I had no idea that SSPC decided to take advantage of their moment in the spotlight to issue shares. I'm mortified !!!!
Congratulations on your purchase of 100 DVDT. Will you end up with 100 shares after the R/S ?
Chris
lol Wayne, you know .....
When you start thinking like me ......
.
....... it could be time to consult with someone in the medical profession. lol
Chris
One more OTCBB observation Bernard,
I've noticed that the opening "next day gap and run" on a lot of these stocks seem to last until around 9:35am ... if that long. That is definitely not a good sign. Especially when the stock does not trade higher than it did the previous day.
To me that is a sign that this current rally might be nearing an end.
Chris
hi James !
Yeah, when I posted that there was only about 5M shares volume. On a .01 - .02 stock I figured that was maybe 20 - 30 people playing. Between the pit and TGL Live 30 people latching onto the same stock probably happens a lot.
I can even see the 2 chat rooms accounting for 10M shares of volume of a .02 stock. Especially knowing you guys buy and sell within a few hours.
27 million ... trading at .034 .... definitely when it broke through .025, SPST took on a life of its own. Don't think the chat rooms did that.
Sooooo .... Wayne accounted for 100k shares of volume .. how many were yours ?
Chris
lol Bernard,
I think you could be right about Wayne taking a month off.
I'll always remember when he was forced to go to cash in March 2000. The Bubble collapsed ! I personally blame him for what happened to the stock market for the 9 months that followed. <gg>.
I don't think the OTCBB looks sick yet ... but maybe we are seeing signs that the "jumping on the bandwagon" has gotten a little excessive. IMO, As long as the NASDAQ is crawling up its 50 dMA, the mo-mos will continue.
Chris
Welll Jim, when this OTCBB "energy stock bull market" has run its course .....
I think we'll be using SPST as the example of its excess.
Kind of like I use BBAN as the example of the excesses of the "Pigs Can Fly" OTCBB bull market of Winter 2000.
The irony .....
BBAN was an "energy" company that recast itself as a telecom company, lolololol !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris
FCNI -- well from trivial SI text search ....
http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/searchresults.gsp?s=fcni&domain=full
Hmmmmm ..... lots of promise ... not much follow through.
Sooo why did you buy this thing ? I just figured you were the proud owner of 20M shares of SPST !!!
Chris
SPST -- who would have guessed it ?
At the time I posted, it was .018 and there was no way I was gonna try and pickup 200,000 shares @ .02 and compete with 30 or 40 other chatromm-connected, professional day traders, lol.
Just a matter of time before they start handing out straightjackets.
Chris
Sorry as in "No thank you - not interested", Susie.
Sure its up big, that's what happens when a story stock hits a chat room, lol.
By the way, nice to see you posting. I was gonna PM you or something if I hadn't heard from you.
Chris
SPST -- sorry guys, LMAO !!!
Didn't go near it !
Chris
Well Bernard, looks like scenario 2 is in effect, nice call !
But for how long? lol.
http://quote.yahoo.com/q?s=^IXIC&d=c&k=c2&a=v&p=m50,m200,e50,e200&t=1y&l=on&...
Looks like a set up similar to July/August 2000. Of course, will another rate cut get things going ? or will reality set in ?
The OTCBB should be fine as long as the NASDAQ doesn't plummet again. It looks like its walking a tight rope, doesn't it ?
Chris
Hi bbgold, I wasn't complaining. In fact I think I described my profits as "easy". Very different than saying "only". In fact I take profits at 30% - 50% because I'm not greedy.
By the way, I know you were kind of kidding.
I have a day job too bbgold, and to be honest with you, knowing that it's possible to double and triple your money in the stock market ... knowing there are people doing it .... but only to be able to do it during the same hours I work ....
... that knowledge is kind of a curse.
And knowing if you just try to dabble once in a while is a sure way to lose a ton of money ....
Did I ever tell you about the time in 1998 when I lost over $5,000 because I had a meeting from 2pm - 4pm ?
Chris
HRCT -- think it'll do it again ?
NBRG -- where were you on May 10th when this thing was at .10 ??????
You guys are the pros. When I read the PR, it says that you have to be a shareholder of record by June 1st. But we know that's not true, lol. Like what if you own the shares on June 1st, but sell them a few days later .. who gets the split, lol.
So what is that Shareholders of record as of the close of business on June 1, 2001 stuff all about if its meaningless ?
One thing I didn't like was the fact that the PR states they have 10M shares outstanding, while Yahoo says the number is 3.55M
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/n/nbrg.ob.html
Like the stuff isn't confusing enough without any help ! Jeeez.
Chris
Too many 2-3-4 baggers in the last week
lol, easy for you to say. For some reason, after Wednesday, I missed out on them for one reason or another. AH plays really helped you out too -- usually the time I am heading home and attempting to get some fresh air.
True to form, ITET up 50% for me, BMII -- up 50% today too. That's how its been going for me since this rally began. No multi-baggers, just easy 30% - 50% gains early in the week and nada after Wednesday, lol.
NMFG - noooo clue. Sounds like if you owned their stock today, you just doubled your money.
I was wondering why you posted at 5:30am this morning.
What do you guys think of HRCT ?
Chris
Hi Wayne -- I picked up BMII @ .13 ... just for fun.
Those pink sheet stocks ...I can't get a bid/ask on 'em and I can't chart 'em so I'm basically petrified of them !!!
Chris
USG -- appears to have made a nice s/t bounce off of $5.
ITET -- Wheeeeeeeeeee ! lol
Chris
Yeah, headsup was not really quite the right word.
... and the stockpit knew the news was false 2 days ahead of me, lol.
Heck I didn't even know there was news. I was doing something else, lol.
This is the only place where I found USG on SI:
http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/subject.gsp?subjectid=36457
SI or iHub could really use a "newsfeed bulletin board" for those of us who are "streaming data impaired".
Chris
USG -- Hi Wayne, having at TV, let alone cable with CNBC is more or less frowned upon at my office. <g> There's a new bar/restaurant that just opened up 2 block away that shows CNBC with closed captioning. Hmmmmmm.
BTW -- have you seen USG's short position ?? Jeeeez its HUGE !!
http://biz.yahoo.com/p/u/usg.html
10M shares short, out of a 22M share float ... not only that the short position is 20 times the average daily volume.
Not bad for a company and a $7 stock expecting to earn over $1 this year. And they still pay a dividend, lol.
http://biz.yahoo.com/z/a/u/usg.html
Thanks for the heads up.
Chris
ELOT -- I guess maybe there still deciding whether the R/S should be 4:1 or 5:1, lol.
Believe it or not, I know of a successful reverse split -- FIBR -- it did a 3:1 R/S maybe in 1998 or 1999.
Chris
