This is why this stock is unfortunately going nowhere. Like the idea but giving away free shares isn't helping share value! I guess it's good if you have lots of money to invest See latest email promotion:
We are offering what we believe is our best investment opportunity ever. Please read on.
Here's how it works: on a $10,000 investment, you get $20K worth of shares:
· $10K in free-trading shares upfront - which you can sell immediately, or hold; and
· After one year, you get another $10K in shares.
And here is the kicker: at the end of the year, if you don't like how the stock is performing, you can simply refund your entire $10K investment, plus 20% interest - and you keep the original $10K in upfront shares (if you haven’t already sold them)!
On a $20k investment, if the share price just stayed at $1.75 all year, you'd still wind up with $44k worth of stock. I think this is a win for you and a win for both of us.
I am getting out of the OriginOil business and selling off today. So I will be leaving the moderator post if anyone wants it. Good luck to you all.
Still want to see the 10-Q due tomorrow. I thought Originoil already had a million dollar deal they announced. In this press release it talks about earnings we already knew about. Don't get me wrong, I am high on this stock, but back in March they had a million dollar deal. Is this part of that one? Just confused. I guess when the SEC filing comes in we will know for sure what they got paid for so far.
RS takes effect today
Agreed. Go way to put it.
I would go with mistake. I wish that was true!
OriginOil Develops Real-Time Control Network for Large Scale Algae Harvesting
Sensor array will manage hundreds of interactions critical to large production operations
Los Angeles, CA – August 4, 2011 – OriginOil, Inc. (OOIL), the developer of a breakthrough technology to extract oil from algae and an emerging leader in the global algae oil services industry, today announced it has developed a real-time control network to supervise continuous algae harvesting operations at very large algae production sites.
“Anyone harvesting algae at large scale has to deal with literally hundreds of variables in real time,” said Paul Reep, OriginOil’s Senior VP of Technology. “That’s why we built this dynamic system that can adjust harvest settings on the fly.”
Code-named “Green Stick” in research (see diagram), the network will be installed at Australian algae producer MBD Energy’s power plant test site, where the system will interface with MBD’s own growth control system to integrate operations with Single Step Extraction™ and downstream concentration and separation processes. It makes use of industry-standard components, all integrated using proprietary OriginOil hardware and software.
The company recently filed for patent protection of the new control technology, its sixteenth patent application, entitled “Systems and Methods for Monitoring and Controlling Process Chemistry Associated with Biomass Growth, Oil Product and Oil Separation in Aqueous Mediums.” The inventors include Paul Reep, and Gavin Grey, Senior Director of Engineering.
The patent application aims to simplify the complex task of computerizing an intelligent control system for a robust commercial facilities environment where all algae production and extraction processing systems are integrated.
Measuring and controlling the hundreds of interactions that are critical to automate and scale large production operations, including algae growth, dewatering, flocculation, cell lysing and oil recovery has thus far been accomplished in our industry with little automated process sophistication, and really only becomes necessary once systems become sufficiently developed, and ready for continuous flow operations, at commercial scale.
The system is managed by a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) that finally connects the biology and engineering with high throughput process control. This development was the direct result of ongoing research and testing activities that are focused on optimizing our Single Step Extraction™ (SSE) process.
For a comprehensive view of algae operations, the SCADA’s Programmable Logic Control (PLC) will interface with existing growth control systems. Where these are lacking, OriginOil is able to extend the network into the growth phase.
“Being able to supply our SCADA an array of comprehensive real-time information about water chemistry, and quantifiable data about what the algae cells are doing, is absolutely critical to optimize our processes, and will help keep us on track with our development goals,” added Paul Reep.
The new supervisory network will also address one of the industry’s key concerns, Operating Expense (OPEX) by reducing the number and skill requirements of human operators. Minimizing personnel is not only good for controlling costs and ensuring process quality; it is also good for the algae, minimizing cross contamination and remediation costs.
On or around August 3rd is what the SEC filing states. So either tonight or this week I would imagine.

Adding some shares from the Private Placement. This may dilute the value of the shares in the short term?? Any thoughts?
OriginOil Selects Award-Winning Engineering Firm for Product Rollout
PACE will fast-track market availability of Single Step Extraction systems
Los Angeles, CA – July 27, 2011 – OriginOil, Inc. (OOIL), the developer of a breakthrough technology to extract oil from algae and an emerging leader in the global algae oil services industry, today announced it has selected Pacific Advanced Civil Engineering, Inc. (PACE) of Fountain Valley, California, to fast-track the rollout of its line of Single Step Extraction™ systems in response to immediate customer demand.
“We looked for a highly-qualified, fast-moving and conveniently located engineering firm to help us fast-track product delivery,” said Paul Reep, OriginOil’s Senior VP of Technology. “We are very happy with our selection of PACE. With its extensive water engineering experience and exposure to international markets, PACE will help us respond rapidly to our growing number of commercial opportunities.”
“We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting new technology development. The combination of our expertise in water engineering and practical experience with complex treatment systems will help turn OriginOil’s innovative vision into reality,” said Mark Krebs, PACE’s President.
In May, OriginOil announced it had received a firm order for a large-scale algae extraction system from a leading solutions provider in the field of industrial CO2 waste management, Australia’s MBD Energy, Ltd. (MBD). The order followed successful trials of OriginOil’s equipment focused on optimizing capacity to handle large volumes of algae continuously.
The system is expected to process up to 1100 liters (300 gallons) per minute of algae culture continuously, enough to process the daily harvest at MBD’s upcoming one hectare (2.3 acre) site at Queensland’s Tarong power station where algae is grown from flue gas carbon dioxide. MBD has also ordered a smaller mobile system for the building stage at Tarong, which will also equip the early stages of future MBD algae carbon capture and recovery projects.
PACE will help OriginOil engineer the Tarong systems, and quickly turn around a standard OriginOil commercial offering on modular sizes that customers can easily combine to meet any scale of harvesting requirement.
PACE has received international and domestic awards from organizations including the EPA, Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board and Global Water Intelligence for engineering advanced treatment systems that employ complex mechanical and biological treatment operations. The firm has also been recognized as a leader in the research and application of new technologies and processes.

I say as long as your making some cash, keep up the strategy. But, I don't see if going up to much before the split without any news coming out.
Good Volume, but Quiet otherwise. I expect it will be that way until AUG 3rd when the RS takes place. Then things should get exciting on the news front.
I agree with fareast555 on this one. In most cases I would say wait until after RS to buy big. But, I really do think we will see some announcement right after Aug 3rd that will keep OOIL holding strong. The strategy of buying some now, and some later sounds good. But if you are a gambler, I would say go ALL IN now. Time will tell. I would say you want to get in at least before the 10-Q comes out. The deadline for that is Aug 13th. I think the revenue on there should help the shares to rise.

Let's just hope after Aug 3rd, when the RS takes place that Riggs and Company release some big news that we all know is coming. This will cause an upward trend and benefit us all. Hopefully by this time next year OOIL will be in the $12.00 area (about where PetroAlgae - PALG is). That means we will have tripled our money. - WISHFUL THINKING :)
Green Algae Meets Dirty Coal for Carbon Capture - Another great article about OriginOil. If all this press keeps up and the world catches on..... LOOK OUT! Revenue and Shares will soar!

Article about MBD Energy Facility Origin Oil is helping to make happen.
"From a 1ha trial, the Tarong project is planned to grow to 1600ha over the next three years"
So OriginOil got a 1 million dollar revenue from the 1ha trial. And now they are growing to 1600ha. That equals lots of new revenue coming!

Kimble1 are you an investor in OOIL? If not, why so worked up about it? Just curious why so much negative feeling towards the company?
Yeah a 100/1 RS would suck. Not much chance at big money then. I hope for something lower, but I think they need to be over the $10.00 a share mark for certain mutual funds to be able to invest in them. I'm no expert either. Just guesses. I guess we will have to wait and see. Let's hope all goes well.
Private Placement is closing up, so look for the Reverse Split to come down in the next 2 weeks. My latest guess is 100/1, putting it about $14/share. But who knows. Time will tell. Big month coming up in August. The 10-Q is due, and the big conference in Australia where Origin Oil will be on display. Expect lots of action and news coming up. Hold on tight. It's going to be a wild ride!

Feed Me with CO2 - Great Article About OOIL
http://energy.aol.com/2011/07/13/feed-me-with-co2
I agree with you both. Not a short term play. I do think Riggs has some news up his sleeve they have been holding onto, until after the RS. I also think this is a little different than other RS in the past. The difference being that the Algae Industry is just an it's infancy. If this continues to grow and catches on fire, like it seems it will, there will be a lot of people jumping on the bandwagon. I think everyone wants the U.S. off foreign oil. Both conservatives and liberal alike, will join in the algae and biofuel craze and hopefully OOIL has put it's self in a position to reap the benefits. Which means the investors will win too!
Good volume today, but look for some major movement end of next week! Stay on watch. Big things coming for OOIL. After investing and following OriginOil for 2 years, it's great to see this all finally coming to a head. Go OOIL!
New OOIL Backers! This is a good sign to see some larger backers come on board with OOIL. This is just the beginning! Next two months will be action packed. Get in now while share price is still low.
OriginOil is planning on doing the Reverse Split. A buyback wouldn't be the best option because they don't have lots of capital on hand to purchase back stock. They are up-listing to help get more capital from investors to meet their product demand. For those of us who bought shares on the OTC, a buyback would be be way better, but we will have to live with the Reverse Split and hope things go well. I think we just need to be patient and we will make some good returns!
Any guesses (or have your heard) on when the Reverse Split for OOIL will happen? My guess is August, and then the Quarterly Financial report will hit a few days later. We will all see the new revenue made in the 2nd quarter and the stock will soar. This will be followed by Riggs announcing some major news with a new partner and more revenue coming in. This is all speculation at least. But that's how I see it going down. Any other opinions out there?
New article today out about Originoil from the Green Prophet:
http://www.greenprophet.com/2011/07/origin-oils-middle-east-biofuel/
Yep, come August, after this conference I feel like things are going to heat up for OOIL. I can't wait. Positive change is coming and OriginOil will be one of the companies leading the charge throughout the world. This is the best time to get into Algae!
Jet Fuel Project in Japan and Mexico still ongoing according to Company CEO. - I emailed Riggs to inquire about previous announcements about Algae Jet fuel projects in both Japan and Mexico. I hadn't heard anything so I wondered if the projects had been dumped. He says they are still ongoing. So this could be some big revenue coming soon too!!! Stay tuned.

Private Placement minimum is $10K. You have to hold onto your shares for a year before you sell them.
Yes, they are doing a reverse split for sure. My guess is 30-1 reverse split. That would put it above $4.00 a share. The stock will drop a little at first, but if you hang on and be patient, I expect it to go back up and at least hit $6.00-$7.00 a share range by late 2012.
Everyone talks about MBD Energy likes it's OriginOil's only customer. Just last month more purchase orders came from BARD via the new co-venture. Some more revenue coming in! Next Quarterly report should be interesting. I think Riggs and Company have some other big news coming our way in the next couple of Weeks. Look for Solazyme and OriginOil collaboration sometime soon.
http://www.algaeindustrymagazine.com/bard-and-originoil-announce-co-venture/
Seems to be a lot of negativity on here about OriginOil. I have been an investor in OOIL for a little over a year now. I think they have a bright future, and are just a few major customers (purchase orders) away from the big time. Definitely a stock you want to get into now (even with the RS coming) and look for some profits a year from now. Reasons to get in now?
OriginOil's Australian customer will be paying almost $1m for the extraction system (capacity: 30 gpm or 400,000 gallons/day). Do you know that they will need something like 500 of these units to complete their processing for 1 power plant? That's a LOT of revenue.
And that's just ONE customer. Bill (OOIL's Product Manager) is completing the specs for this system as quickly as he can because there is a lineup of companies waiting to write purchase orders for these. That spells many millions in revenue coming shortly. This company is on strong, stable footing, and frankly looks undervalued to me. If there ARE any opportunities to invest later, will it be at $0.14 a share?
