We have a long history of smart mice.
Now if it had been smart dogs……..
Smart humans, (insert joke of choice here)
Hi Maximalexander,
Do you have knowledge of this?
I thought NIH grants were contracts between a business entity and the NIH, and that the principal investigator could be changed at the discretion of the company.
Thanks,

Disappointed does not begin to convey my anger at you for that idiotic post. You choosing today, to give a voice to that conspiracy trash, is now a stain your persona.
Friends from high school were in the pentagon that day. A friend from college was in traffic when the plane came in so close it clipped off a light pole that smashed the car behind his. He and another friend from school stayed on site helping. When that plane hit PEOPLE were turned into lumps of smoldering ash.
If we ever gather for a corx celebration I’ll be wearing a name badge.

Life! See the news.
Cortex needs a new indication, how about dry macular degeneration. Keep those damaged receptor cells sending signals as the developing therapies target the poisons. When we get a safe high impact the repairs can begin. Big market with only vitamins and zinc as competition. Too bad it would take long term studies with a large numbers of people.

OT getting that blue box. I don’t intend this to be rude, but this link gives you an alternative. They have taken good care of me, members of my family, and a number of friends. They first carve in wax, then make a mold for casting, this allows you/her to design/modify/start all over again, until you have a truly one of a kind. And they know gems as well as gem cutters.

Regrets that I’ve not had much to add about COR lately. Still long and follow people’s contributions every day, but the older I get the less I seem to know.

Thanks Neuro. Any chance of some progress being announced on the European Patent challenge?

FWIW, I ‘m going to chime in. imho, That’s the last time you should ever disclose your professional affiliations. If you can keep your current job after that last post, consider yourself lucky. Regrets for the harsh tone, but wake up. Since I’ve been roused to spew unsolicited advice, I’ll also recommend becoming very active in the BIOT of the ACS.
Regards,
tonyvanw, go ahead and Google it.

Popular Science has a new short on Ampakines.
Page 61 of the August issue. Under “The 6 Biggest Ideas in Medicine”, see Brain Boosters. Dr. Lynch, increase BDNF, “sort of Miracle-Gro for your brain cells”.
Every positive article helps. Then again, PS has been saying something about ampakines about every two or three months so this is not a big event for us.
As for Yahoo, I was wondering how they were going to clean up the boards without litigation. Sad
+++OT: Is anyone…Epidural+++
fwiw, almost 10 years ago when my wife was concerned about epidural’s I looked into it and found a low incidence of complications. That and a very athletic friend, nurse, and mother of 3, who claimed they were “God’s gift to women”, allowed my wife to relax and accept the epidural procedure. It worked out well for us, we ended up using eps when two of our kids came. I for one think it’s absolutely natural to use the best technology and medical care to minimize complications and pain. (In my book, that “natural” label also extends to any doctor recommended surgery.)
If you find some documented concerns please post them as my decade old story my need updating.
Regards and good luck,
Dew, seems to me that given the Sq mode of action
one of the few ways it can be a standalone drug against cancer is for prevention, taken constantly in low doses. Clearly a long term/high participation study attempting to show a reduced risk of cancer is unthinkable. It would be tremendously expensive and positive results could only be determined using retrospective analysis. My previous post outlines one of the few ways it could be done.
“We are discussing the dosing frequency and possible subcutaneous administration because Dr. Levitt mentioned these matters in his talk. Our job is to figure out why he did, and I don’t think we have a convincing answer yet.”
Maybe he was addressing the question of what Sq dose allows administration by injection rather than infusion. Though you disagree, I continue to believe this to be important. Infusions are not a showstopper but delivery by injection would be icing on the cake (assuming the drug works).
Another possibility is that Dr. Levitt could have been giving an update without a clear strategic or tactical goal. As a holdover MAGN investor I have overestimated his abilities before.

Correction: “Biogen” not “Biotin”
Regards,
Self administration of Sq for AMD.
Could it be a window into a broad use license for cancer?
Consider Biogen’s Avonex for MS. This requires self administration and the folks I know use bigger hypos than most diabetics do. (True, the MS patient population is probably younger than the AMD population would be.)
Could one strategy be to get Sq out into AMD patients that take it constantly in low doses (weekly, biweekly, monthly) and then follow them for reduced incidence of cancers? Transforming a big market into one several orders of magnitude larger. Once Sq comes off patent, the market would be so large that name recognition would retain value.
Could a potential partner that is comfortable with such a drug (Biotin?) have suggested the low dose be entered into the clinical protocols?
Speculative yes, but inconsistent with what is known?

Re: 10 mg dose…2 questions
I don’t remember ambiguity working out to for better. Anyone have more safety info from in-the-field contacts? For example could side effects be more detectable in 2004 with relatively healthy patients, as opposed to in the past with seriously ill cancer patients?
Second question is about the line between infusions and multiple injections. Anyone know if 10 mg gets us within reach of multiple injections? It seems that would be a big plus.

Dew, belated thanks for setting up this forum. The old one seems to have lost all of it’s value.
I thought human collagen was the new gold standard.

Dew,
Fwiw, I think you’d do better by listening to the RidgeRunner than by calling him out on specific details. Over the years it’s become clear that he is in the industry, and gets much of his info from others in the business. Folk like that are not interested in the details of what is released to the press and published for investors. When he offers his view of what’s going on and what is important, I get the feeling it’s worth considering.
Best Regards,
That was helpful, thanks. EOM
RE drbio45, Thanks....EOM
Hi drbio45,
genr has had Sq for a long time, and your comments are the first I’ve seen claiming the company has had some success in developing new delivery systems. Have I missed some DD (fun intended DewD), or is word getting around from conferences, meetings, and such?
Has anyone been talking to RidgeRunner? His thoughts on the CF results would be appreciated.
