Skoob...yes, you are right. The idea that some of these guys are going to mount a proxy fight is rather humorous. Right or wrong, they are pissing into the wind. They should check to see how many shares are owned or directed by insiders and compare that against issued stock.
I think it will be rather daunting.
They are wasting their time on this thread and if they are serious, they should be going after the insiders for their vote. It seem more likely that it has given many of these posters a disguise to tear down the company and others to show how unhappy they are.
HC. After reading your posts, I am not sure why you hang around here? You don't like, nor trust management and apparently see nothing positive in the stock?
What exactly are you fighting for and why?
Except that we only see a very small window of what they are trying to do. We do not know the whys and wherefores of their actions and at this level; there must be a lot of confidential maneuvering and strategizing.
If I think the company is crooked in any way, I run like hell. Granted, I have found out too late of more than my fair share of crooked managers. And if they are crooked at any level, they are crooked and I want nothing to do with them.
Now, a bad business decision or a minor strategy is a completely different and potentially fixable problem.
hc...no, I am not. It was just that some posters were talking like they had some great power as a stockholder. One poster even said that stockholders could fire management.
I was trying to point out that stockholders actually have very little rights for the most part. Their only real control is the board of directors and their access to some reporting requirements, and even that can be tenuous.
I have found by trial and error, that if one does not support management and the BOD on their general theories and direction, it is best to find a different investment, no matter how good the product may be.
Stockholders do not have any authority or power to fire or hire any management or employees of a corporation. They do elect by majority vote, the board of directors And in a properly run company, it is the board that manages the longterm vision of the company and they choose the management to achieve that vision.
Stockholders are often under the mistaken impression that simply being one, gives them certain powers. No. It gives them the opportunity to vote for specific directors.
Yes, especially when someone who accuses the company of lying and cheating, but than says they will buy back when the stock hits a certain price.
Either the boy is not a very bright investor, or a not so bright basher? Either way, it is all about him.
All right....lets show your work (math)!
$10? That’s actually sounds low. Assuming the 1.5B in 2008 is correct and they have 150m shares out. That is $10 per share in sales. What is the norm for a growth stock like this, with the type of future at that point? 4x? 15x?
Who has some comparisons off the top of their head? Even Microsoft trades around 7x.
It has got to be at least somewhere between $50-$100 (3x-10x)per share at that point.
Hey Skoob, some time ago I thought you mentioned something in the neighborhood of $300-$500 long term!
Am I missing something?
Hey Skoob...ya broke out! Welcome.
Good call on the bounce...but, I think it might be a "dead cat" bounce! Without any positive news, this stock will continue to drift lower. It seems to be a pattern for the stock.
The price is going to flucuate. The market got clobbered today, no news and the threat of inflation have investors moving money around. We have been here many times. It will continue to drift down and sideways until the next news of interest.
Ot: John. No, not if you play by the ihub rules. If you get caught doing that, they get very angry.
To the best of my knowledge, he is still in the ihub jail. I think he has been there a little more than a month. And to think that Martha only got 5 months for lying to the SEC. Poor ol'skoob.
And still no skooby to balance out the bashers. He must have pissed off the parole board...again!
Nearly: Are the courts open on Monday...Presidents Day?
percy: The reasons may have been wrong, but apparently the title was correct. And you become a more hostile and bitter basher each day.
OT: Bend, Oregon seems to be getting a lot of attention these days. People selling their homes in the Bay (SF) area, and moving up there for half the price, many are even building custom homes on 1/2 acre lots.
Bigworld...gee, I think Dr. Chen has more important duties to concentrate on, than read idiot emails from unknown posters, telling him about his area of expertise. That is why we pay them...if you want a job there, apply for it.
If you have that little faith in Dr. Chen to do his job, than you certainly should not be invested in this company.
OT: Neo43: Just got back from "the city"...and yes, you do have some sun over there. It was a welcomed respite. We had not seen much of the sun in the San Joaquin Valley for a few days.
Paul; "After forward splits"? Although I think we would all prefer that...do you actually mean "before forward splits"? If you are correct...WOW. What kind of company valuation would you be looking for in 5-8 years?
Don't worry about it Doc, some people just don't have much of a bedside manner.
Tat: Thanks for the heads up on the charts. Would it be fair to say, that all charts are not created equal?
The 50 day MA passed the 200 day in a big way today and volume was good.
I would imagine things would settle down here fairly quickly without any news of substance. We seem to have resistance @.95 and even though volume was good, it was not a blow out.
So...the stock looks for a new base of support...until?
The volume is not great, but it is running anyway.
Tat: Thanks. ANY hint of news, and look out...all bets are off. It will be in new, uncharted territory.
Tat. "A golden cross"? Once it makes the crossing, what do the charts say is the next resistance point?
Thanks.
The one thing you left out, was having the right management. A lot of great products fail because of poor execution. So, timing, technology and managment.
Dang, August 9th has come and gone...and skooby's price prediction along with it. But, if we listen to the interview, 60 days should be a good bet.
kevb, great summary...thanks.
Hey Skoob...thanks for the reply. Interesting, but simply.
Okay Skoobyfl1, you never responded to when I questioned you about this, and you are still saying it is so. I hope so, but, you never offered any theories as to why you think it will be .80-$1.00 by Aug 9th?
Are you just pulling this number out of your ass, or do you have some theory behind it?
OT Spamming...reported.
skoobyfl1...a bold prediction. You are saying that by Aug. 9th 2004, the PPS will be $0.80-$1.00. You have made bold predictions before and come up quite short...why do you think this time you are going to be correct?
Now don't get me wrong, I love predictions, but, I like a little something behind them, more than just prayer. What is your thinking here?
Finally, we fell through the .40 support level. In this terrible market of late, it was firmly planted at that level far too long. It needed to drop down and clean up the uncertainty and bust out of the market makers games.
It looks like there is a support level around .35. If you believe in the management and the market, now is the time to take a good look.
I am just shocked the PPS is holding over .40. I frankly don't understand why? I was expecting a dip down to the low .30's and was prepared to load up...but, artificially or otherwise, it is holding up.
COMMONNAME..insightfull. Excellent post.eom.
Major resistance points.
Who out there, has good, detailed charts? It looks like we closed at a current resistance point(.42), with the next area around .20 and than the .10 area. Not sure why the volume spiked today...hopefully, just some panic selling. It might be a good opportunity coming up.
skooby, Granted the article in the E-Street is a paid ad, it is nonetheless, informative. Although, I am not sure about when this data was current. If I read it correctly, we are looking at somewhere around 4 years before we really hit the marketplace?
Granted, the PPS will reflect the current advances, but, in terms of actually offering any potential drug to the general public... am I reading this correctly?
Thanks.
A stock split does not dilute the stock, it simply changes the current price per share.
