No matter what happens, Advanced Cell Technology, Inc. (OTC:ACTC, ACTC message board) never gives up. Despite the losses over the past days, the stock got the climb ACTC_15.pngagain. Of course, due to the same old reason - promotional alerts.
Namely, these alerts broke up the downtrend for ACTC and made its price increase by almost 4% yesterday, while the stock traded over 12 million shares.
During the past days, ACTC was mentioned by a few promotional websites, though the most supportive publication was the one in seekingalpha.com. The alert came up a couple of days ago, featuring the latest achievements of ACTC, as well as the company's position between the "epic struggles that plague most speculative biotech companies".
Yet, the website also mentioned one of the latest SEC filing of ACTC, where the company estimated that the number of shares of common stock such holders of convertible notes could demand would be approximately 8 million, and the number of additional warrants convertible into shares of common stock such holders of warrants could demand would be approximately 380 million. The radical increase in the share count would not bode well for the stock price, which immediately gives a red signal to traders.
ACTC_logo.pngAlong with all the above-mentioned, we should consider a document filed with the SEC last week. According to it, ACTC itself warned investors that investing in their common stock involves the risks listed in the document. Among these are the company's early stage of development, its long history of operating losses, patent litigation, lack of approvals and many more.
Having in mind these factors, accompanied by the latest 10-Q of ACTC, the situation gets much worse. And even with the management's provocative optimism, the financial report still states that the company "cannot assure you that public or private financing or grants will be available on acceptable terms, if at all."
