THC is useful for autism too, don't forget that.
I just heard Senator Yee has blocked this, does anyone know for sure?
False, Sativex is whole MJ plant extracts. Two plants. A Skunk, and an Indica.
Thank you, yes I saw that already, nearly two years ago. How time flies?
The last mention of it was April 18th 2012 - http://www.cannabisscience.com/index.php/news-media/news-releases/256-cannabis-science-in-final-negotiations-to-purchase-50-of-what-will-be-a-10-000-square-foot-cancer-centre-in-arizona-with-over-500-existing-medical-cannabis-patients
Must be time for more news on the autism front soon, I hope.
From that article:
"The primary target of the company is on treatment of autism, blood pressure and side effects of cancer treatments."
Is there any documentation from CBIS or anything on their website about autism?
At least 50 Million worldwide with autism, a lifelong condition. I use 2g per day as medicine, so that's 100 million grams per day, 36500 tons per year.
There's a lot of money in autism medicine, and a lot of autistic people, and cannabis is medicine for autism, and CBIS are on the case :)

Yes. More the CBD than the THC. Hemp seed during pregnancy may prevent it in the child in the same way that fish oil protects.
THC has more than one function. If you eat the female plant's seeds, you walk away, you fall asleep, you forget where she was, you spread her seed for her but you cannot return to over-graze her.
The male contains CBD and not too much THC, you can eat as many of him as you like, you'll eventually come into contact with another female, helping to spread pollen which sticks to her THC. That's another of it's functions - providing stickiness for reproduction.
Yes that's true, but that company won't be allowed to make any medical claims. That's what CBIS are going for - the FDA approval to sell it as a medicinal product. Big difference!

Nah, it comes from: "How much do I get for $20?'
Yes they are dong fantastic work, I have even spoken to their chief chemist, Adul, on the telephone and he tells me with absolute confidence that cannabis can treat autism.
It is the British government who are being slippery with the equivalences between sativex and cannabis:
http://www.clear-uk.org/the-sativex-scam-becomes-a-scandal/
Yeah, and UK Gov + GW Pharm are trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes.
They are trying to claim Sativex (Nabiximols) is not cannabis and should be be schedule 4 while cannabis remains in schedule 1.
We know (from GW's own data) that Sativex IS Cannabis.

CBIS are in the autism market :)
Get your facts right and you can get away with naked too :)
No not judging your comment, making my own comment in reply to yours because of the subject matter. Skeptical is good. It's just another word for 'Checking and Testing' which is much better than guessing or intuiting.
Why would they be meeting with the FDA if they didn't already have a positive biopsy result? It wouldn't make sense strategically to announce a positive biopsy result until CBIS had the go-ahead to go with the IND process. If they did it the other way around, a competitor could move in with little risk. imo.

Here is the research linking this condition with autism on the genetic level: http://medicalxpress.com/news/2012-03-molecular-basis-autistic-symptoms-children.html
Irvin Rosenfeld (patients out of time) has smoked more legal federal medical marijuana than anyone. Cannabis is the only thing that helps. His condition appears to be related to autism. Only cannabis really helps with autism too.

"A mouse model of multiple hereditary exostoses (MHE), a rare bone disorder, exhibits autism-like social deficits. Shown here are normal nest-building behavior and nest-building behavior by the autistic MHE mice. Credit: Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute
Children with multiple hereditary exostoses (MHE), an inherited genetic disease, suffer from multiple growths on their bones that cause pain and disfigurement. But beyond the physical symptoms of this condition, some parents have long observed that their children with MHE also experience autism-like social problems. Buoyed by the support of these parents, researchers at Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute (Sanford-Burnham) used a mouse model of MHE to investigate cognitive function. They found that mice with a genetic defect that models human MHE show symptoms that meet the three defining characteristics of autism: social impairment, language deficits, and repetitive behavior. The study, published online the week of March 12 in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences USA, also defines the molecular and physiological basis of this behavior, pinpointing the amygdala as the region of the brain causing autistic symptoms."
The value of both are artificially inflated!
