LOL. I've been telling all of you this and provided countless examples of my personal investigation since 2011. Only a handful listened. Kudos to them!
It's just blister packs. These are trials, the packs aren't anything close to final product. Part of the marketing questionnaire showed (3) different packaging concepts. I enjoyed the Altoids like tin the most.
I agree, I enjoy the powdered variety...it reminds me of Dubble Bubble, but green. I think I prefer the completely uncoated version the most though. It just looks like a unique herbal gum whereas the others resemble traditional gum... especially the fully coated version. It's like a big Chiclet.
No, Sativex is made from whole plant material. They have been the trail-blazers on the pharmaceutical side of the movement.
I'll report back after the holiday gentleman, I'm off to warmer climates. Be safe and have an excellent vacation!
Drying out simply allows other cannabinoids to be converted... and that's only when dealing with trichomes from bud/leaf material. Once it's dried and cured, it still needs a heat source (fire, baking, boiling, etc.) to be activated. If you put a dried bud in your mouth, THC/CBD, etc. a small amount of it will be absorbed through the mucous membranes, but it won't have very high bioavailability without a proper extraction or decarb.
I was referring to spitting out the gum after chewing it... not spitting while chewing. I've actually just been swallowing the gum after 10 min. of chewing. If you do some research, mostly water soluble compounds are best absorbed through the mucous membranes.. CBD is not water soluble. That's why I was wondering about their extraction process. This morning I will take a CYP450 inhibitor and a FAAH inhibitor before I chew and swallow the gum. They say it's patented, but I don't see a valid patent anywhere. A lot of companies claim things are patented when they aren't. In this case, I think a better word would be proprietary.
It's been a long time newmedman, good to see you over here. As you can see, I'm very excited about CBD products finally on the market and very happy to be involved in the trial. I'm just trying to figure out several things before I invest in MJNA again. They've made me a decent amount of money in the past... I suppose I'll wait for a .08 entry.
Yes and we're all wondering what their extraction/concentration process is, since it is hemp based (oil, seed, stalk).
The only oral example we have is Sativex, and that THC/CBD spray is decarboxylated. That is what increases the bioavailability after it is absorbed through the mucous membranes.
The edibles and tinctures are all heated... that's called DECARBOXYLATION. Making an alcohol tincture that's not heated is possible, but it's not very strong. I suggest you study basic chemistry, biology and then come back.
I'm not making up my own numbers... I have plenty of experience with high CBD strains, concentrates and tinctures. Could I be wrong on the mg content? Absolutely. It doesn't matter too much to me if it's 2-3mg or 8-10mg. It's not a therapeutic dose to me. The company has not released any analysis of their product, just a press release. A press release with a number on it is not chemical analysis. Here is a copy of CBD analysis of the Dixie X tincture - http://oi50.tinypic.com/2utou1d.jpg - that's what I'm looking for.
I'm not bashing a product. I actually have the gum and I'm reviewing it. They do not show any CBD analysis of the gum, so they can say whatever they want. This isn't regulated.
CBD needs to be decarboxylated as well. That's why I'd like to know how their concentrate is made. If it comes from cold-pressed hemp oil, then it hasn't been decarboxylated as it was not heated in the process. What's your point? Are you someone that actually has a disease that benefits from CBD, like myself, or just an investor? I see you're new, so I'll give you a break.
CBD is actually in a gray area. The law reads that all phytocannabinoids are Schedule 1, but at the same time, CBD is not scheduled. It's weird. They really only care about THC and all of the psychoactive synthetics. I think we're all sitting back and watching Dixie X... I'm hoping they break out of the mold and set precedent for both the DEA and FDA.
Yes, I saw Dixie X has it in pill form and that is the way to go for now (if you aren't in a MMJ state)... but, the price point is too high. We need to know how, exactly, they are concentrating CBD from hemp oil/stalks/etc. The oil is cold-pressed in Canada and shipped over here. After that, I don't know what they are doing.
THC isn't water soluble and you know what happens when you eat the buds... not much. THC needs to be decarboxylated before it is ingested to have any effect.
The gum is solid, there isn't any gel inside. All of the studies that I have read show therapeutic doses of 10mg per kg of body weight... so if you weigh 150 lbs, you would need 680mg of CBD. Granted, there are still advantages at doses as little as 15-20mg. CBD is not water soluble, so you aren't getting full absorption since you are chewing it and spitting it out. I think it would be better to just encapsulate it and take it in pill form. I'm interested to see how they price the gum... Dixie X is the only example on the market so far and it's not cheap for 100mg of CBD.
It's CBD gum, it's not psychoactive so there isn't any high. I don't have access to gas chromatography or any other analytical instrument, but I'm guessing that there's only 2-3mg of CBD in each piece. That's the same amount that is in 2 fl oz. of store bought hemp oil. CBD isn't water soluble, so I'm not sure if a gum is a great idea. Other than that, the gum tastes great and will be a nice supplement... but the CBD level is not anywhere near therapeutic.
I received my gum today as well and, so far, it appears to have about 2-3mg CBD per piece. I've only tried the finished hemp oil mint version, but it tastes like your average mint gum. I don't expect any noticeable effects, but it's definitely good to know that I'm getting a decent serving of CBD per day. I'd have to drink 2 fl oz. of hemp oil to get the same.
Well, well, well... it's been awhile since I stopped in here! Looks like the same old dog and pony show. What's new?
I can't reply to private messages guys - I get so many of them.
From Doc K -
"Your a grower in NJ? Are you involved with one of the dispensaries?
I am in Nothern NJ and can't wait for the program to finally open. Encouraging that the Montclair one got the green light to grow. Now if they will ever open is yet to be seen. God luck to you."
No, I was an illegal grower up until Sept. harvest last year when I was caught by the NJSP Marijuana Eradication Unit (ratted out). I was facing 10-20 years in prison due to the number of plants I was growing. Luckily, I had an immaculate record (I'm 28) and a great job and was growing for medical reasons - so about $20k in lawyers fees later I was sentenced to 2 years probation (should be 1 if everything goes alright). Unfortunately, I'm now a felon.
lol, I'm surprised all of you are still here! How many new ventures has CBIS gone on in the past couple years that have resulted in nothing? 15-20?
I like you more and more each day, Gomez. Keep up the good work.
I'd listen to Gomez, kid.
lulz, yeah, right.
I'm back for good everyone - ended up with only a year probation, no time (still a felon, though). Lost 20k to the lawyer, but he was obviously well worth it.
CBIS is getting into the topical hemp oil business, lol (too bad hundreds have already been there for years). Cheers to everyone who played the pump!
Cheers to whomever played the .008 to .07 pump and dump ;) Otherwise, same old b.s.
I got a piece of the action (against my better judgement) and played .008 (irresistible) got out at .061 - Nothing like turning $1k into $7500+
The man is taking it easy on me, I have to do 6 months in county jail as opposed to 5-10 in prison. NJ still blows, I should have moved to an MMJ state - my own damn fault.
lol, CBIS. Don't say I didn't call this PPS 9 months ago...
As with the last 'cancer-cured' PR, you need to read between the lines. "a second patient suffering skin cancer is self-administering cannabis extracts in collaboration with Cannabis Science." 'In collaboration with'... they still have not cured anyone of cancer with their extract. Too funny how they seem to find people self-administering cannabis and throw their name on it.
uh, who do you think makes the CBIS extract? Certainly not CBIS in their not existent laboratory. It's made in-house at the two dispensaries it's at... not much different than someone's house. I'd like someone to get a picture of their extracts... I bet even the packaging is amateur.
An FDA approved medication would be a game-changer... releasing an extract in a sea of thousands of other extracts is nothing. Their extract is nothing special and will not make a dent in their financials. They were very late in the game with their extract and also very late with their vending machine. Neither of these things are unique or ground-breaking. Simply put, they are definitely done. Without a doubt.
Too bad everyone else has had extracts available at dispensaries for years now. What makes the CS extract so special? Nothing. Keep dreaming.
You guys are still dreaming with this stock... that 10Q clearly shows that the final nail in the coffin is only a short time away. The dilution is unreal - look at all those millions of shares given away for minor debts.
I was going to buy shares today based on the news, but then I realized it was CBIS. fyi, looks like I won't be headed to prison until after the holidays :/
I appreciate the kind words. I cooperated with the detectives, so the details of my case don't really matter in regards to my guilt. If I didn't cooperate, I'd be facing an additional 10-20 years (1st degree felony) for "operating a drug manufacturing facility" because I had over 10 plants. NJ is crazy. I have an immaculate record, but that doesn't really matter with mandatory sentencing... I'll most likely get 5 years and serve half that, lose my license for 2 years and pay huge fines (they already seized my vehicle). Karma had nothing to do with this, all I did was alert you guys to how crappy this stock was... and by the looks of today, I'd say I'm still right ;)
Well, I'm facing 5-10 years in prison for growing... helicopter got me last week. 2nd degree felony in NJ... mandatory minimum sentence.
I can't respond to private messages - yes, I'm dead serious.
