Phone System in Ft. Lauderdale:
Please see www.vivainternational.org for update.
website indicates the following:
NOTICE!!
The telephone system in the Ft. Lauderdale office will be down for 48 hours. The current telephone switch is being removed for transport to Santo Domingo and will be replaced with a system appropriate to the number of staff in that location. If you are not automatically rerouted, please place your call to the Michigan office at 888-336-VIVA.
Thank you for your time!
No problem. I know this isn't happening fast enough for any of us, but it isn't because of a lack of effort.
If I were independently wealthy, I would fund this project myself and we'd already be in the air. But since I'm not, the fact that I am still working every day on this project (and have no intention of being employed anywhere else for several years) should tell you that I have total faith in the ability of this company to fly passengers soon.
Just a clarification since some were wondering, yes, I'm still with Viva, over forty hours a week right now. I'm dealing with a number of things for the company at present, in addition to the tasks of which you were previously aware. As is probably obvious, since RAA put up their new site, I'm no longer maintaining their web presence. Since I contract for Viva, it wouldn't be appropriate for me to continue a relationship with RAA considering the manner in which they've comported themselves to date.
Sorry I haven't checked this board in a while, I've been inundated with other tasks and there is so much negativity from those who post that it seldom feels like a constructive use of time. BUT, if there is any way that I can be helpful, within the confines of the law, I'd be happy to be. And I'm encouraging concerned investors to call in to talk to me or Bob. The new number is posted on the website.
Since that's an operational issue that has not been previously disclosed to the public at-large, I really can't say but I can say that the removal of the logo does not affect an important relationship that has been previously announced between these two companies.
The Falcon Express link is only temporarily removed from the Viva site. There has been a consistent relationship between Falcon and Viva from the beginning of the Viva project and it has not, as one suggested, "soured".
Also, for the record, I do not administer vivaair.org nor does anyone who actually works for Viva so I can't tell you why that site is under construction.
I have not, as yet, joined the payroll at Viva International. Presently I work under an interim compensation agreement with the Chairman's office. The revenue stream, however, from that agreement has not yet begun to flow AND the agreement itself does not include payment in stock of any kind. I work for the company on an as needed basis performing a variety of tasks; some weeks I may be needed only 20 hours and other weeks perhaps I'll put in 50 or more. My agreement with the Chairman does not preclude me from accepting other work. However, due to Viva's quickly growing needs, I have been devoting more time to this project of late than any of the others in which I am involved.
I hope that answers your question.
I'll have an update for you on this by the middle of next week.
I'm still here, is there a specific question I can try to answer?
In response:
www.vivadominicana.com has never been actually owned or affiliated with Viva, at least that I'm aware of. The site www.vivaairdominicana.com however, which is currently under redevelopment (and resolves to the same location as www.vivaairlines.com) is owned by Viva. That new site is set to be launched coincident with ticket sales for Viva Air Dominicana. I don't know when that is though...
Fina and Neb Air, as far as I know, are no longer affiliated with the Viva project and therefore we are not at present doing the development and support of their web products.
The site www.solaristelecom.com is owned by Viva Air Dominicana President Oscar Hasan, but beyond that I don't know why the website is associated with Viva.
I hope this is helpful. -josh
Honestly, I don't know. I can look into it for you though....
Actually, I found a better picture of the plane landing, without all the clutter of the hanger and maintenance facility. It's posted now...
I've posted a full side profile of the plane on the website along with the news announcement. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'll see if we have a picture of the entire plane. And I'm sorry, but I didn't understand the rest of your question. "particularly where is was mentioned.." Can you expand on that and I'll see if I can get you a proper answer.
Thank for the compliment, we're very happy with the site so far and have had great feedback from folks who want to see this thing happen as much as we do.
Additionally, I did post a picture this morning of the RAA Director of Maintenance doing an inspection of the aircraft prior to delivery.
It's in the news sections along with the new release.
-josh
Yes, there was a problem with the www.flyraa.com CNAME which points to the actual website which is hosted at www.royalarubanairlines.com. We discovered the error this morning and the CNAME has been updated and within 24 hours will be again pointed to the correct internet address. In the interim, I have changed all of the links on the site to point to www.royalarubanairlines.com.
I hope this is helpful.
-josh
This is fixed.
That was a mistake and has been corrected. It should have said "Falcon Air Express".
Yes, sorry for the delay. I've been pretty busy the past few days. The new site is up now, a couple of people have mentioned that the flash header was a hassle because they don't have flash player installed on their PC. There is a link at the top of the webpage for anyone who cannot see the header to download and install the flash plug-in.
We'll also be putting up a section called "message from the chairman" where Bob Scott will post information and updates from time to time. We hope this will be an important part of improving communications between the Company and the investor community. The other sites will also be updated soon...
Obviously, there are still a lot of bad things being said about Viva on the other bulletin boards, but I'm still here along with everyone else working to make it happen. I hope you guys like the site; it's a beginning but it will become more robust as time goes by.
Best -josh
Viva International Announces Lease of Aircraft and Executive Appointment
FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 10, 2003--Viva International, Inc. (OTCBB:VIVI) announced this morning that it has reached an agreement on behalf of Viva Dominicana, Queen Air, Aeronaves Queen S.A. with Air Transport Group LLC and Centec Aviation Inc. to lease 2 DC-9-15 for a 3 year period. Not taken the wrong way AT ALL. I just thought I'd toss that clarification out there. All best, josh
The Rules:
It becomes a clarification as to whether or not the information disclosed is truly "material" to the company's operations. As a contractor with Viva, I'm bound by SEC rules not reveal anything that might be considered "material" until it's been released to the public at large (like through a press release). This is why I try to be very careful about what posts I reply to and those which I choose to leave alone. I'm really the only person at Viva who reads these boards so the fact that I'm replying (when I can) is merely because I follow the boards and want to provide whatever information is legally allowable to my fellow web-junkies.
Compliments of another investor, you can find "the rules" regarding this type of disclosure at the following URL:
http://www.sec.gov/rules/final/33-7881.htm
With regard to the postings from JP at TRISTAR, he's not an employee of Viva and he seemed to be clearing up a matter that was in question about an asset of his company, NOT speaking on behalf of Viva International. I'm not a lawyer, but I don't see any violations here, just clarifications.
Respectfully, Josh
Honestly, I don't know, though as much time as I spend communicating with Bob et al, I never hear it refered to as such. We always say Viva Airlines or Viva International, depending on which entity we're referring to.
-josh
The logo on the airplane on the website and that which is on the top of vivaairlines.com and vivainternational.com IS the logo that will be used by Viva.
-josh
I am presently working on the Northeast Bolivian site. There's a new place holder posted now that will give you a feel for the site's new look.
Best, Josh
I hear what you and many others are saying. Again, let me say that I am only a contractor at this time with Viva. The best I can do is pass these concerns along to Bob Scott and others at Viva. I wish that I could personally be of more help.
All best,
Josh
oops. I fat-fingered it, I meant to say:
"to see if we can make some improvements"
-josh
The message about needing more communication has been received. I'll be working with Viva management to try see if we can make some improvements in keeping the community more informed as to the status of the company's operations.
All best regards, josh
Looking at the market on the whole, it seems that every major airline is in the red right now....
As much as I would like to reply to the query about the reservations system, at this time I cannot. Since Viva is a publicly traded company (which Fina is not), that level of detail about operations will have to come out in a press release. I hope you all understand that I have to be cautious about what I post here. I don't want to improperly disclose non-public information that is material to Viva's operations which should properly be released to the business community at-large.
Glad to see we have such an active investor base.
All best - josh
Once we go live, people will be able to purchase tickets directly from the website. I am currently in communication with sites such as travelocity, cheaptickets, and others to work out the details of tickets sales through their services. We'll know more about that soon....and when I'm able to provide more info on this, I will.
Again, all best - josh
Viva's Website Plans
I didn't even realize that this message board was here until very recently; otherwise I would have posted pertinent information here earlier. I am the person who is on the receiving end of webmaster@vivainternational.org and I have recently gotten a number of queries from investors who are interested in the website as an integral part of our business and as a vehicle for Viva's success.
I would first like to point out that I am a contractor and not an officer of the company therefore the scope of the information that I have available to me is somewhat limited. Additionally, my principal role at present is not only to develop Viva's websites but also to handle the bulk of Viva's networking and telecommunications infrastructure, which will be substantial. I am not involved with the true strategic and corporate operations of this fledgling airline so there are many questions that I cannot answer. However, if you want to talk websites and select other operational issues, I'd be happy to provide whatever information I can.
With regard to the websites, I am, at present, in the process of developing the production version of the Viva website. The site that is currently vivainternational.org is really a place holder for the final, more functional and aesthetically pleasing production version which will be rolled out when our planes finally take to the skies. The production version will include the ability to make reservations from the web and will be a part of an integrated enterprise wide reservations and accounting system.
Viva's websites will be structured in much the same way as American Airlines websites. The main "corporate" site will be www.vivainternational.org and it will be the place where one would go to find out about the corporation, its holdings, investor relations, press releases, corporate officers and contacts, etc, etc (this is akin to www.amrcorp.com). Naturally, there will also be a button to "make a reservation" or "book a flight" on this site. If you click that button it will route you away from the corporate focused site to www.vivaairlines.com, the actual product/service focused, end user, plan a trip, check out promotions, get baggage information, etc site (like www.aa.com).
At present, I don't have exact deadlines as to when we'll be completed with the new sites, but we're not going to roll them out until they are complete and full production AND the airline is ready to fly.
Also of note is that I've recently had some questions about why the nebair site is down and why the links to it were taken off of the viva int'l website. This is strictly an issue of retooling the nebair site to conform with the new viva sites. Since they'll be using the same reservation system and they'll be servicing Viva’s routes, it's important that all of the sites line up in structure, form, and function.
I am also considering bringing up an official weblog on the viva site so that someone at headquarters will be able to respond to your questions and concerns in timely and official capacity. This has a very low priority for me right now, but please know that its on my list for a future service to our investors.
At the moment, I guess that's all I wanted to say. Since I've had a number of questions from people who post on this board, I figured it made sense to try to get this word out to as many people as possible, instead of answering individual emails.
If there are other questions that I see come up that I can answer, I will. However, its guaranteed that you folks will want to know a lot more than I'm able to tell you so please, be patient with me if I can't answer all of your questions all of the time. Additionally, due to the fact that I am overwhelmingly occupied with this development process, I suspect that the time I will have to monitor and respond to this board will be EXTREMELY limited so please do not be offended if I can't reply right away to your comments.
I hope that some of this has been informative and I very much look forward to working with you to help Viva become one of the world’s premier carriers.
All best, -josh
